Very friendly and nice stay.
Very nice staff and the restaurant was excellent. Beautiful little town across from Vermont. Rooms are small, but clean and have everything you need.
Did not like fact that there was no indication that largest room was on third floor. Not ideal when travelling with 89 year old. Mattresses were very very firm. Again, need to provide this information in room description.
Old house but nice. Good menu for dinner and the employes were all very nice. The bathroom need to be repaint and also add hook or something else to hang towel and clothes.
This old-style inn is in need of refreshment. Windowsill was dirty, screen knocked out. Shower temp very hard to regulate. The bed was comfortable. The only place to hang coats or other clothes was in the bathroom. OK for one night. The bar is friendly and serves decent food.
Late arrival
We were traveling from US. We arrived late & we were grateful that Taylor was on duty at an obviously popular bar/ restaurant. She was cashing out and we really wanted a beer to unwind. Taylor complied. She showed us the room, was friendly and went the extra mile to let us know to park off the street. She showed us our room and was warm, courteous & spoke English to us with ease. We are ashamed to not speak more french. We want to go back.
Clean, quiet, beautiful old wooden floors, comfortable bed, affordable.
Excellent service and very friendly staff
Fantastic historic inn located centrally in the small town. Friendly service, clean and simple spaces that are perfect as a base for adventures in the region.

Auberge ayer's cliff.
Great room, clean, comfortable bed, everything working. Definitely a good spot!
Nice rooms,but little.
Room not cleaned!
PROS: there was a good sized bar fridge in the room, which was not expected. The A/C worked well. CONS: the room was clearly not cleaned. There was dirt on the floor throughout the room and bathroom (not caked on dirt but actual clumps of dirt). We had to wear our shoes at all times while in the room outside of the bed. Mattress was OK (not great) but pillow was hard and uncomfortable. Shower was tiny and difficult to use and I'm not a large person. Floor was sloped at about 25 degrees in the bathroom! Parking was on-site but was shared with the on-site restaurant so we couldn't even get a spot until about 8:30pm. Perhaps there should be spots reserved for the actual hotel guests. Overall, it seems like this venue is geared more towards the restaurant (which seemed to attract plenty of business) than the hotel. The room was cheap but I certainly would not stay here again.
Belle auberge typique
No frills accommodation and welcoming barmaids. A clean property right on the main street of Ayer's Cliff. The mattress was a bit too solid, and the other guests were kind of rowdy at night.
Was close to amenities
Nice location, very clean, nice bar and terrasse, close to everything and very reasonably priced.
I like the stay. The bed and pillows were not confortable. My room was near the street and it was difficult to get some peace and quiet.
Like living in an Edward hopper painting. Washroom floor worthy of the Hundertwasser museum in Vienna. Flying vacuum cleaner outside window this morning. View on grain silo come telecommunications silo.
to loud
Its too loud there. Music and bar guests loud talks until 11pm or even later despite bar closes at 10. Could not get asleep. Not recommend it for families with children. Price and location are ok.
The old charm architecture. The restaurant section for families is small. The bathroom is so so...
Very, very old building. Friendly enough people and decent service but........no air conditioning. Enough said.
Ok for a rustic place
Our selected room was given away, but we got 2 separate rooms instead. Great customer service! However the rooms were not equipped to cool off from the heat wave so the night was incredibly uncomfortable and the bathroom floor was covered in water after a shower. Leak needing definite fixing. Overall quaint decor and rooms but cleanliness was average. I give it a 3/5 overall.
Cute little auberge with friendly staff and a great evening ambiance In the garden for a delicious meal and live guitarist!
A really nice, clean and peaceful place to stay.
Not too fancy, but clean & simple. Staff were very nice.
Not worth the money
Old house with bedrooms converted to hotel. Bed was very hard and uncomfortable.

Passable for One Night
Spent one night this past weekend. Some Inn's are quaint, this one isn't and I wouldn't want to spend more time in the room than necessary. The best attributes are the large terrace and bar area which has a fire pit at night. The bed was comfortable enough, the room had a Keurig coffee maker and mini fridge but was dated. The bathroom had a bit of a mildew odor (Room 11) but was functional. The water pressure in the shower came and went. Overall for the price charged and the location it is passable, so no regrets.
