No Bakery - misleading
We made our reservation thinking we were staying above a cute and delicious bakery. But alas as we are driving to our appointment we get notified, that the bakery is closed and we can check ourselves into our room. Bummer. The room was clean but tiny, the shower was in the bedroom. But we got a good night sleep and on our way in the morning. If you are looking for a place to lay your head this is good. If you were hoping for cure or special, not so much.
Kitchenette was very convenient
The room temperature was quite hot, the mattress very firm and the pillows very lumpy.
BEAUTIFUL INN HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Attention to details in decorations, cleanliness and coziness if the facility. The Caffe is amazing
This a cute little hotel with an amazing restaurant down stairs. Guests receive a discount on food there.
disappointed
I do lot of traveling and I had better experience! I was asking for an detailed invoice, no invoice and no answer on email. The room were clean, but I would say for the condition at all, it was pricy.
Charming but very small
2nd Story no elevator. Poor lighting in bathroom for makeup or shaving. Room very small. Barely can sit on chair once place suitcase. No place to put our toiletries. Only one mirror in poorly lite bathroom. Could use another mirror in room . Bed very comfortable. Quiet room ,good location . Owner helpful. AC is central to building g
Excellent place to stay, staff very friendly and helpful, charming place. The cafe is wonderful!!!
When booking, it was my impression from reviews and desceription that a lovely breakfast was provided. The restaurant was not operating. Otherwise, a very clean and pleasant auberge and welcoming owners who directed us to the wharf for dinner. It was great.
This place is very clean and very cute. The owner very friendly.
Worth the drive
Host was very friendly. Rooms are beautifully decorated. Very close to the wharf. Common kitchen had everything needed. Sadly we had to leave too early to try the restaurant.
A boutique cafe with rooms to let
Potential guests should realise that the B&B is perceived as very much second fiddle to the Cocooning Cafe. The residents have to queue in a long queue for breakfast if they wish to participate. It's also a bit bizarre to have to access the bedrooms via a utility door at the rear of the house.
Great stay
Very clean, well taken care of old building. Awesome bistro and bakery on site for breakfast
The floor of the room was meant to look antique, but it was actually uncomfortable. No elevator, though staff was very helpful with my bags going upstairs. No desk in room though I was able to set up my computer nearby. Wifi good.
Warm hospitality and care. Charming room and a comfortable bed.
Nice Small Guesthouse with Great Cafe
Nice place with great cafe downstairs. Even if you don't stay here, stop at the cafe as the food, service and pastries were great! The room was clean but smallish and could do with some more comfort items like extra pillows and better linens.
Nice place
It was a nice stay. The rooms are three stories up and np elevator. The rooms were clean. The breakfast ypu habd to pay for!
The staff was so friendly and the room was spotless
Lovely inn. Well kept and very cute. Breakfast was not included but there is a discount in the lovely cafe.
The place was clean, friendly small village. I walked to the pier and saw local paintings from local artist. The place was not a bad price! I would recommend the place to anyone coming to the area for a visit or drive through!
Cozy place
A touch of the past with comforts of the present: lovely room, comfortable bed, beautifully decorated, kind and friendly staff, quality breakfast.
Lovely place
Lovely people, lovely place. They clearly have put significant effort into making the Auberge comfortable and attractive. 10 out of 10, would stay again.
This is a great, cozy place. We came in the summer and it wasn't very busy. The bathrooms are private, but there is a shared kitchen area, which is a nice convenience. The cafe downstairs is excellent. It gets pretty busy with people from around the area and is pretty affordable with the 25% discount offered to hotel guests.
Cosy, friendly staff even when arrival on their national holiday! Cute and spotless little breakfast area accessible with fridge and coffee machine!
Loved the bed with confortable blankets cozy restaurant good food and coffee
Alternate Check-in Procedure
We were pleased with the location and ambience of the hotel. However, there is a check-in process for when the hotel closes early that can be problematic if you don't know about it and aren't expecting the hotel to close early. As luck would have it, we arrived about 20 minutes before 2 to ask for an early check-in, which we were granted. If we had been any later (posted check-in times are 2-8), we don't know what would have happened since we were not notified of this closure. Stranded comes to mind. We were told that guests who had reservations for the evening would have been notified of the alternate check-in procedure before arriving. WE WERE NOT! Other than this incident, would recommend for clean and pleasant surroundings and friendly staff. Very pretty area.
This stay was perfect. L’Auberge is clean, tidy, tasteful, quaint and full of amenities. The staff were a pleasure to see each day and the food in the cafe adjoined is some of the best in the area. It’s a true maritime experience.
Wonderful little find
Wonderful place to stay. Our room was very clean and having a common kitchen was extremely helpful. We ate twice in the affiliated cafe downstairs. Once for breakfast and a second time for dinner. Meals were excellent and a breakfast discount is provided to people staying at the auberge.
Wonderful host, beautiful room, very quiet. This place is my favorite spot to rest when I'm in town.
Great little spot. But the tv and cable could use an upgrade. Especially for the price u pay now a days.
Enjoyed having a kitchen with table where we could not only eat but also play a board game. Super friendly staff in the restaurant & good food.
We had an amazing rustic stay at the inn. Jerome, the owner greeted us with a warm smile and guided us through all amenities. We had a wonderful fresh baked croissant baked by Cecile his wife. The recent owners from France made us feel welcomed. What a charming place! we will definitely be back. Jerome, we left you our bottle of wine in the fridge. :) thank you!
A nice place...
Auberge d'Anjou was a stopover for me on a trip to the Gaspe Peninsula. I arrived right before the cafe closed and was brought up to my room. I was asked to bring my bags in through the back door. I had no problem with this, but found the back door difficult to use with my hands full. Everything had to be put down. I really appreciated the kitchen and lounge being available to guests, although I did not use it. My room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I found the room to be very cold at 18.5 degrees. I tried using the thermostat to warm up the room, but it turned the heat on and left a burning smell. I quickly turned it off and opened the windows. There was no information on who to contact or a phone to use. I felt cold and rather stuck. With all of the information being in French on the door, I was unable to read it, but it did not contain a number anyway. It was a nice place to stay and I enjoyed the music outside for Acadia Day.
Very clean & charming B & B. The food here is delicious. It is served quickly after ordering and is very pleasantly presented. There is a varied menu to choose from plus a variety of on-site bakery items. The bistro is open for all 3 meals of the day. Short walk to the beach. It is very comfortable even though our room was small. I'd stay again.
We enjoyed our stay. The owners were friendly and welcoming. We had breakfast in the cafe - food was great!
Love this place!!
We just loved this place. So quaint and cozy. The location is incredible. Very peaceful. We will definitley be staying here again and highly recommend. We didn't have time to stay for the complimentary breakfast, but another couple travelling with us did and said it was just great.
Nice but room was too small. Staff were very helpfull. Nice common room with fridge.
Beautiful house and well made rooms
Staffs spoke french but since we don't, one of the staff tried hard to speak in english for us :) Overall friendly staffs and we booked two beds it was nice and big. Good view also. The smell in the bathroom was sweaty.. Other than that everything was great
Gracious hosts, nice rooms, and pretty good bistro. One of the big draws is the nearby (5 minute walk) beach. Too bad there were heaps of snow and a frozen bay this time of year!
Very nice
One night only, for business. Good points: comfort, clean, quiet, amenities (free coffee, fridge at end of hall, private bathroom), access to bistro downstairs, close to water. However, back yard was all dirt entrance (which was client entrance), so different from front entrance to bistro which was beautiful...could benefit from a little update...although I would go again anytime!!!
PARKING,CHAMBRE,MAISON TOUT OK CUISINE COMUNE BIEN EQUIPEE :FRIGO,FOUR ,CAFE,VAISSELLE OK NUIT PASSEE TROP CHAUDE, CLIM PAS REGLABLE UN PEU CHER SANS LE PETIT DEJEUNER !
Excellent !
Excellent!

We had a lovely room. Very pleased to be able to stay here. It was to bad that we missed going to the Bistro downstairs as we arrived late.
