Our stay at the Athenian Foss was fantastic. The room we stayed in was clean, comfortable, spacious and had a great view of the city. The staff were so helpful and friendly and couldn’t do enough to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Breakfast was included at The Greco’s Project at the foot of the hotel, which had a good choice and was delicious. Service was excellent.

Eva and Stella were great hosts. This hotel is in the heart of Athens tourist area, thus it is noisy until 1000pm at night with walking shoppers and restaurants below. Great for a couple of nights stay.

I liked the location. However, a "Presidential Suite" that costs C$550,00 a night must offer better conditions to the guests. When we arrived at the flat, I immediately saw how filthy and dusty it was. The unit hadn't been cleaned properly for a long time. For example, the apartment looked tired, with a sofa and ottoman full of dirty spots. The wall corners needed a coat of paint. The bed did not have fresh linen or quality pillows. You could not walk with bare feet; otherwise, you got black sole feet. Unacceptable! Inside the washroom, the water could not drain normally inside the glass shower because something obstructed it. As a result, the water came outside the glass door, flooding the whole washroom floor. Another thing I noticed was that the washroom door handle came off on my hand, and I could see how badly it was done. To finish, I think this suite rate is way too expensive based on what was offered. I would not return or recommend it to any friend. I have some pictures taken from what I just mentioned above. Unfortunately, I am not able to upload those pictures. Thank you.

Couldn't ask for a better location within walking distance to dining, shopping, sightseeing and historical areas! Even the taxi driver who dropped us off from the airport complimented us on our choice of location in the beautiful Plaka district. This area has a great local vibe and there is so much to experience. Our room was beautiful, comfortable, clean and well appointed. We chose accommodations without a view of the Acropolis, because pretty much everywhere outside has a view of it. Why pay for a view of the Acropolis if you're going to be outside enjoying everything the area has to offer? There are tons of rooftop restaurants, cafes and taverns where you can enjoy the view. Even many of the street cafes have amazing views. The hotel staff was friendly, polite and referred us to amazing local restaurants and bars that were reasonably priced, so we could avoid the mediocre overpriced tourist traps. If we asked for anything, they were quick to respond and always had a smile. We made the mistake of grabbing the first taxi at the airport. As a result, we paid more than we should have and were dropped off farther away from the hotel than we would have preferred. We highly recommend working with the hotel for taxi service. The driver that the hotel arranged picked us up closer to the hotel and was more reasonably priced. We couldn't experience everything that we wanted to in 3 days, so we will stay at the Athenian Foss again when we return to Athens!

Service was great and felt well cared for while I was in-house. The front desk assistant was really helpful and she gave me great advice about the area as well as taxi information.

This was such a great surprise! When we got there we were concerned because the hotel is in a street with several bars and restaurant…it’s actually above one of them, BUT it’s absolutely quiet since they have proper windows to avoid noise. The room is new, staff extremely informative and friendly. They also had the best shower I had in Europe (and I have been to many places). They are in a walkable area, close to everything … there was no need to get a taxi, subway or bus, except to come/go to the airport. If I ever go to Athens again, I will definitely stay there.

Check in was easy and the gal who checked us in was very friendly and explained everything about our room. Since we arrived at 8:30am after getting off a cruise they stored our luggage until our room was ready. There are a few steps as you come into the hotel before reaching the small elevator. Room was small but adequate. King size bed was very comfortable. Shower area could use a remodel as there was water damage but it worked for our one night. Good water pressure. The hotel arranged for a taxi to the airport the next morning which was very helpful. Even though the front desk did not open until 8am, the same bellman who helped us at check in helped get our luggage to the taxi at 7:30am. We did not eat at the restaurant on the bottom floor but it looked very good.

Excellent location - close to shops and attractions. The only inconvenience was that the pullout sofa was making loud squeaking noise every time kids tried to move.

Location, staff, clean, the room, what can I say Amazing!! It made our first trip to Athens so welcoming and enjoyable. Walking location to everything we wanted to do. It’s really hard to beat!!

Tiny but very nice.

The hotel was overpriced for its offering. No tissue paper in our room. When asked we were provided with rolls of toilet papers instead. My daughter slept on the couch that made in to bed & made so much noise every time she turned around. The hotel is also not accessible friendly any we had to carry our luggage few steps before getting in to the tiny elevator.

Almost perfect..

The location of the hotel and the room's size and decour were beyond my expectations for this level of a hotel. You have a convenient walk to the metro and to the main attractions, and the staff was very welcoming when I arrived. The only downside for me was a foul smell I had in my bathroom which got stronger in the night. I hope they took care of that already :)

Apartment style suites with kitchen and Laundry facilities onsite. This was useful after traveling through Italy before boarding cruise ship. 5 minute walk from cruise terminal which was also very convenient. Close to everything. Very active nightlife and shopping within walking distance. The property is older and decor somewhat outdated but has all the conveniences we needed. Clean, safe and nice staff. I would stay here again-especially for the price point.

Granted we only stayed here one night, we absolutely loved our stay at Athenian Foss. Check in was seamless. The receptionist was so helpful and checked in to make sure we were comfortable. Our flight landed later on in the evening, she was even kind enough to wait for us to check in. There is a great little restaurant right below the hotel and the food was delicious. Highly recommend staying at this hotel and hope to be back next summer!

We a great 2 day stay , located next to Plaka area, walk to everything, would of given a 10 if not for some mouldy grout in shower floor area and had bit more luggage space. All Staff were very helpful and friendly.

This is a small hotel in a great location, with very friendly and nice staff. The room is quite small, but that's Europe. Breakfast was very good at the restaurant with a good menu. There are many restaurants, bars, and attractions, all of them walkable distance from the hotel.

This hotel was in a perfect location. It was within walking distance of everything we wanted to see and in an excellent are for food a d shopping. Even though it was near a busy area we could hardly hear any street noise in our room. We had the best time for our first trip to Athens!

Ok but a sad incidence of missing items.

Other than losing some food items I put in the fridge, stay and service were great. I hope no one was responsible for the loss. That was really very disappointing. Hopefully it fell under the fridge drawer when I pulled it later. Just thought about it now. They should really investigate though. I bought the items in Lisbon and though not very expensive and a lot, they were pretty special.

Fantastic hotel in the middle of central Athens - you just walk out and you are amidst the historic, shopping or party areas of the city. The receptionist Denitsa was kind and professional and you feel most welcome the moment you step in the hotel and you can sense that your comfort is their priority. The room was beautiful, though without any view.

I love the area of the hotel. Its in a very busy place. There are lots of restaurants right underneath the hotel. Acropolis was very near. I loved the smell of their beddings. So refreshing. However, the hotel itself is very small. The lift of the hotel was also very small that we could only fit our bag in the lift and we took the stairs. The room was decent but technically there was no window. The window they have, doesn’t have any view of outside. Overall, not a bad for short stay. I only stayed there for few hours to catch my flight from Athens.

Loved our stay in the superior suite - lovely balcony on the 2nd floor. The location was phenomenal in the heart of Plaka with a short walk to the train station. Short walk to several amazing restaurants. Not too far walk from the Acropolis and the Pynx. Easy check in and check out process with luggage storage available so you have time to explore the beauty of Athens. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. It made for a wonderful anniversary and birthday trip!

Beautiful inside room. Bed and bedding made for a fantastic sleep. No view if anything but it made it super quiet in the room so we slept fantastic ! Small lift was a bonus to get our luggage to our room !

Great Room, Excellent Location!

This hotel is right smack in the middle of all the action! The first floor is a cafe/restaurant where you can get your day started. If you choose to go elsewhere, there are plenty of choices all around. As soon as you exit the building, you're on Ermou St., which is a pedestrian street full of shops and places to eat. You're a 10 minute walk from Syntagma Square and Monastiraki Square, and a 15 minute walk to the Acropolis. The location could not be better! Our room was very nice and comfortable. The bed is super comfy and large. There were robes and slippers for you to use after a good shower. The room was an adequate size, and the drinks in the refrigerator were an added bonus. The only thing you should know is that the elevator in this hotel is tiny, no exaggeration. My wife and I barely fit, and the door would hit us when it closed. We were actually amused by the size of it, and didn't mind it at all. Having said this, you'll need to wait if there are others trying to access it at the same time, or you can use the stairs, which we did on a few occasions. The people here were amazing! The porter took our luggage up and down for us so we wouldn't have to struggle with it. The lady at the front desk called us a taxi for when we left to the airport and she also helped us with suggestions on where to eat. Overall, this hotel was exceptional and we would definitely stay here again.

Friendly staff, great location. Room was ever so slightly dated but not bad. We had a standard room with basically no windows but the plus side was it was very quiet despite being in the heart of the busiest part of Athens.

Athenian Foss worked well for us. Great location. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Other reviews indicated some noise from the pedestrian plaza at night. We heard a little music one night but not the other three. It did not disturb us. Our room was small but that was not an issue for us as all we needed it for was sleeping and getting ready at night and in the morning. We would stay at Athenian Foss again!

The Hotel is good, a very tiny elevator, but the suite was excellent, with a nice view to the city and the Acropolis. It is close to everything, a very walkable area with lot of restaurants and shopping centers. The hotel staff is amazing. The food was delicious, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I'll definitely be back.

A lovely central hotel great for shopping and site seeing

Very good location, close to everything and felt very safe. Breakfast was great. Some downfalls, though: Due to a scheduling issue we had to move rooms after our first night, which definitely was not ideal. Lots of street noise at night, but that’s to be expected.

This was the perfect place for our family during our trip to Athens. The staff was friendly and attentive, breakfast was nice convenient, and the location couldn’t have been better. Enjoyed my stay at Athenian Foss. Hotel is smaller than I thought but not too much of a problem. Room was a nice size, friendly cleaning staff as well. There are people outside of an evening who play music, sometimes quite loudly so keep this in mind. Also, the elevator is very very small so if you have lots of luggage, this hotel might not be suitable. All in all, a good stay in a good location!
