We really appreciate the last minute accommodation as our flights from Hamilton Island were canceled due to bad weather. The room we had was spacious, clean and the staff checked in on us in case we needed anything. The room was well equipped and a great location - close to the ferry building and the local shops/restaurants!
Nice view to the ocean but given 4 stars i expected more modernized amenities
Great pools and location. Spacious unit.
Staff rude from phone booking and front desk. Advertised cafe and bar but not one there. Toilets to pool area were dirty for the 3 days and never cleaned. Room clean and presentable but staff and facilities not recommended.
A great location, spacious and clean rooms with fabulous views. Conveniently close to shops and restaurants, easy walk to all things Airlie Beach can offer.
Great location.
Our room was spacious had a great view and was quiet. Amenities were great.
Great stay!
What a view, even though our room was very 3 star, just wear and tear on furniture, curtains, bathroom. The bed so comfy, pillows great. No housekeeping, $5 hire for pool towels. Totally self contained. Walking distance to Woolworths and the strip. Loved the pool and the view.
We stayed in the 2 bed 2 bath apartment for 3 days and 2 nights. Location is good, walkable to Woolies and the main street. Rooms are very clean and comes with a fully functioning kitchen. Highly recommend.
WOW WOW WOW. Soooo happy I booked this place. We had a top floor apaprment and it didnt dissapoint. The best views imaginable. (Apartment 50). I will most certainly recommend everyone come to Airlie Beach and to stay at Water's Edge. So close to the main street and woolworths is just across the road! Pools were beautiful and the resort and rooms are well presented. Definitely do yourself a favour and stay here (high level floor) to get those spectacular views. You wont be disappointed. 10/10
This was not our most pleasant experience of the "Waters Edge" brand. Check the survey monkey review for details.
We had the best time in Airlie, stayed 8 nights at Waters Edge. Its closeness to town and value for money was perfect for us and we will definitely go back there again. Found staff very helpful and polite.
Awesome customer service and a GREAT location. Supermarket at your doorstep and the main drag like two seconds away.
Nice apartments, views on lower floors are blocked by trees. Either pack a chainsaw or request a higher floor if you want a nice view.
We like to stay in accommodation that has a breakfast/cafe service for a coffee in the mornings without having to go out, so it would have been nice to be informed that their cafe is not currently running
Loved this place. Would go back. Clean, comfortable, private, great facilities and easy access to town. It was a real tropical holiday staying at this establishment.
Incredible views
Fantastic location and the view was unbeatable!
Excellent service and value.
.
Stunning location, beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. Great views
Great place to take the family, with three swimming pools and great views. Great location, just a short walk to everything at Airlie Beach - main street with restaurants, lagoon, beach harbour, Woolworths across the street. Only faults is that some maintenance and furnishings need renewal - sofa seating collapsed, outdoor seating at end of life, noisy exhaust fan in ensuite.
Comfortable and spacious rooms, easy walk to town, however do aim for level 2 or above if you want/pay for an ocean view. Trees have grown to tall and obscure what otherwise a lovely view. We changed rooms due to this factor which was no trouble for staff to accomodate - made a world of difference to our 8 day stay (also our original room definitely had not been renovated as stated on the website)
Close proximity to town centre and restaurants. Great view over Airlie. Spacious unit however needed more plates when 4 people are staying.
Beautiful view. The 3 pools are amazing!!!
June 2024 - great close location to ocean & good views from our Balcony. Lovely resort , some 20yrs old, but still in very good condition.
We stayed for seven nights and absolutely loved it. The location was fantastic. The view from our apartment was breathtaking. We will stay here again!!
Great location and great staff.
Had a lovely stay!
Had a lovely stay! The apartment had everything you need and a beautiful view over Airlie Beach. Close to restaurants, shopping, cafes etc. and beautiful surroundings.
We felt extremely unsafe as the doors did not have any locks on the balcony area had to leave and find alternative accommodation still waiting for a refund.
Loved our stay at Waters Edge in a 2 bedroom apartment. Staff were very welcoming, room was spotless and the infinity pools were amazing with beautiful views. Everything you needed was close by especially the Woolworths across the road. Thoroughly recommend Waters Edge and can’t wait to stay there again.
Good value for money. Partially renovated rooms has freshened up the property
Fabulous place
Lovely lady on reception to check you in. Very spacious and clean property. Very noisy during the night from outside sources - industrial aircon and guerney from woolworths carpark before 6am.
Beautiful views . Spacious apartment.Close to CBD.Amazing swimming pools.Loved soap, shampoo and lotion quality and smell.
Balcony was so dirty and full of filthy smell because of continuous water sweepage from upstairs balcony leakage spa. Complaint to hotel staff but they refused to change the room. The leakage was prolonged for a long time the hotel staff already knew this problem but still they allotted the room.We stayed there for two days full waste of money as can't enjoy the panoramic sea view , drinks as well as enjoy the beautiful sunny weather in balcony. Only plus point everything you name it cafe, restaurant, bars ,sea beach ,Safeway and shopping strip is on walking distance
Great views, facilities and pool, very close to town
It was just ok. While I appreciate it is up a very steep hill to walk up and down, it would not suit anyone with any physical issue. The driveway is very steep. The stairs that are at the side have no hand rails as you climb up. The pool doesn't have real access i.e. hand rails for anyone with any kind of disability. I found it disappointing.
The resort is located at bottom of a very steep hill it’s easier to walk into town but still has great views. (I was in a “high floor” apartment)
Great position. Apartment was well equipped. Highly recommemded.
Good spot for a visit
Fantastic venue and great price
Great room, great view happy to stay here again next time
Great location but a bit of a steep hill to get to but the views are amazing, and right across the road is woolworth property big and spacious a couple of minutes to the main areas of Airlie beach
Apartment was clean and had a nice view. We’ll choose this again when we are back in town. Best value for the money. Close proximity to everywhere. The whole building structure is customer oriented.
We asked reception for fresh towels as the shower nozzle let a lot of water out on the bathroom floor. We were asked to find the cleaners on Level 3 and get them ourselves. We were staying on Level 1. Cleaners were very helpful and also helped to find a lost toy from our friends who had checked out of another apartment so we could bring it home for them.
The property wast cleaned enough
The yards was dirty the pool was not cleaned over the four days we was there. The lounge chair in the room was uncomfortable.
Clean, roomy and functional. Lovely view and close to the main strip.
Walkable distance to all amenities. Staff helpful. Pool facilities good. Room cleanliness to be improved. Bed comfortable.
The property location and recreational pools gardens settings are lovely but our room was sorry to say average room 37 needs a lot of work . I would stay there again but would check out which room was available first .
Not to
Disappointing stay
Our stay was very uncomfortable due to the air conditioning in the main lounge-kitchen room not working and all of the facilities that we were looking forward to not working. The room we paid extra for with the Jacuzzi had the hot tub thermostat broken and stuck on 40 degrees when it was a heat wave, and could not be used. Also there was no working clothes dryer and it had rained three of the days. The furnishings were extremely old and chipped the couch was disgusting to sit on. We didn't receive enough towels for the five people and then we're told we're going to be charged extra for towels for the hot tub which we could not use. Overall an extremely disappointing family holiday that would paid a premium price for and it was a let down.
Very disappointing
Very disappointing stay all round - we booked & paid for an oceanview HIGH floor room but were only put on the 3rd floor. We requested a QUIET room and were put in a room directly over the busy & noisy road. When we called to see if there were any other rooms available as we were very disappointed with our room the receptionist was rude & condescending and offered no help or support at all. She actually said 'well your room does have a view' and did nothing else. Yes the view was nice but not stunning and our room was not very oceanview OR HIGH at all. It looked nothing like the photo beside the 'oceanview and high floor' apartment on the website. The unit was also very old and quite dated - especially for the high price to stay there. Also both air cons were not working when we checked in (our checkin was also very late, even though we had also requested an early checkin), so the whole stay - which was meant to be a special treat for us turned out to be very disappointing!
Great big apartment and beautiful view but it is not very clean. We have to mop the apartment and clean the rooms and bathrooms. The apartment needs a good renovation and cleaning.
Amazing views
Amazing views, large rooms
Excellent location with excellent views.
Loved our stat at Waters Edge - proximity to Airlie shops (200 meters), close to supermarket (100) meters, and overall cleanliness and atmosphere. Beautiful gardens and well maintained pools, ocean views and expansive balcony (end unit, 117). Definitely heading back to Waters Edge at Airlie Beach.
Amazing! I would stay here time and time again. Lots of space, great location and good staff. Love it
This was a very clean hotel with a spectacular view of the bay! Very close to everything and very walkable. Extremely recommend it
very good
Great big apartment.
Happy with the accommodation
Very spacious and comfortable apartment, loved the view from our balcony, enjoyed the pool area. The airport shuttle was very convenient
Great balcony views, however the kitchen area was not safe. The oven & stove top tripped the safety switch. Had to wait to the morning for house keeping to access the locked switch board room. Cooking appliances were broken or missing, fry pan handle was falling apart. BBQ area had a broken hotplate too. One ofhared BBQ facilities was not working.
It is definitely not 4 star. It needs to refreshed. Otherwise ok. Good location. Friendly and helpful staff when they are there. Limited service.
No cold water on arrival only very hot water from both taps. Staff organised a plumber very quickly. I left the unit to meet up with friends - came back about 2hrs and there was a horrible odour in the water. Management had.left for the day - i packed my bag and left. I emailed rhe manager advising them and in turn asked for a refund as i could not use the property from check in and had not used anything. Refund was declined - I got ripped off. .
The unit itself was good. The view was fantastic, mornings and evenings looking out over the bay sitting in the spa was great, price was reasonable. However the washing machine leaked all over the floor every time we used it, the floors were dirty and appeared to not be mopped prior to our arrival, shower screen felt like it was going to break every time the door was opened and the air conditioners needed service/attention. I would go back there as it was a nice place to stay overall and these minor things could easily be fixed
Amazing views and so close to the centre of town
Great location fantastic infinity pools large rooms nice staff
Location can't be beat, close to shopping, restaurants, and bars, and walking distance to the Port of Airlie, although the walk up the hill to the hotel is for able bodied people only. Large room and patio, although our apartment was sparsely furnished, with uncomfortable furniture. Wifi is basically non-existent - forget streaming or posting to social media, it was difficult to even send an email or book an excursion... would give it a higher rating if the connectivity was improved.
Great place to stay with an amazing view. Everything you could need is in walking distance
Our friends and I had a wonderful stay! Our apartment was very clean, we had a great view and the ladies at the Front Desk are amazing! Very sweet and knowledgeable of the area! We can’t wait to come back!
Great room. Great staff.
Rooms and outdoor areas need major renovations Was interested in purchasing unit , management didn’t even call
Great location including views and access to shopping and restaurants Staff excellent and friendly Highly recommend
An older property but fairly clean, friendly staff, and comfortable
Great property. Location is perfect. The view is awesome.
Great views, close to town and comfortable
Views are great!
Amazing pools and views!
The view was amazing
Waters Edge Week
Great spot, surroundings, pools .. not right on water so a bit of walking, all good.
Great views. 2 bedroom apartment is quite large. 3 pools and a spa. Within walking distance of centre of Airlie Beach. Woolworths across the road.
Best place in Airlie Beach! We had a wonderful stay here! Room was excellent. Quiet and clean. Nice views. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. The pool was fabulous. We’ve been in Australia for 8 days and this was our favorite so far on our road trip adventure.
A stay at Waters Edge Resort.
The reception is only open between 09:00 and 17:00. We were to arrive after 20:00. The hotel arranged our room and completed the check- in next morning. This was excellent arrangment. Arranging late check out and arranging the transfer from the hotel to the airport was done via hotels.com messaging service. This was the best way to communicate with the reception as we had daily trips that prevented liasing directly. On check-in and check-out the receptionist was great. On the negative side the sofas beds were uncomfortable and required replacing. Car parking was convenient. Less than 5 minutes walk to Woolworths, high street and beach.
Location
Great place to stay but abit dated. Suits the price
Beautiful spot, right in centre of town, short walk to shops and restaurants. The drive is quite steep, if you have difficulty walking best to drive.
friendly staff
Nice room , amazing pools and very near to everything in Airlie beach
The staff that we interacted with at the property were very nice, and the location really can not be beat for the price. However, when we got to our room there was a shaving razor in the bathroom from the previous guests, which made us question the cleanliness of the place. We were also surprised by how limited the bedding was, the beds only had a top sheet on them and only one extra blanket was provided in a closet. The pool area of the hotel is really nice, and we enjoyed our time there.
Very convenient location. Breathtaking views
One week holiday
Had a fantastic stay , great location with perfect views and friendly staff. Shuttle service excellent.
Great views and amenities
Lovely staff all round. Great location. Just outdated and lounge didn’t look/feel clean. Would be amazing if updated a bit.
Convenient stopover
My family and I spent a night at this property on our way through to Hamilton Island. Although it was an older property we enjoyed our stay. It was conveniently located behind Woolworths and the main street of Airlie. My favourite aspect was the pools there are 3 and my sister and I got one to ourselves in the afternoon which was lovely. I would stay here again next time I am in town.
Great location and staff, apartment spacious and clean, could do with an update but still highly recommended.
No clean, even the pool was discussing
Okay if you just need a place to sleep
Positives are, great view of the beach. Location is good, walking distance to woolies and the beach. Negatives are, the price that we paid ($700/night weekend) it is not worth it. It is okay if you only need a place to sleep in, but the overall condition and age of the apartment is not up to the standard of the price you will pay. Room service towels/coffee/toiletries etc replenishments will only be provided if you are staying for over a month. Otherwise you will need to pay extra for these. Couch and mattress were dusty and itchy. Aircon leaking water (children accidentally slipped) utensils and drawers were unclean (with sauce spilled and dried inside). Cleanliness and sanitation can definitely be improved. Building alarm went off at around 2am, other guests said it is a false alarm and that it also happened the night before.
This spot is perfect! It’s so close to everything including restaurants, shopping, grocery store. The pools are amazing with nice loungers and an amazing view. The apartment we had was spacious, well-equipped and also had the same fabulous view. Would definitely recommend.
