My first hostel experience exceeded my expectations!
NA
Clean, safe, quiet, comfortable, right in the center of Dublin. Super facilities. Easy to get to from airport. Affordable. I will stay again.
Great location and service!
Not bad but not good
For a night it was fine but a bit run down, bare minimum and okay. For the area, it's good, but wouldn't want to stay for longer than a couple of days. The receptionists were kind.
Perfect location -noisy street
The hostel is centrally situated and perfect location for Trinity college, the river etc. The reception staff was particularly helpful and friendly. Useful lockers to leave bag until the evening before return to the airport. The place is clean and safe. My room was on a very busy and noisy street with all night traffic of tram, buses cars. I thoroughly recommend bringing ear plugs so as to be able to sleep.
Great place
Good location and functional
My first ever hostel experience. Er, don’t forget to bring your sheets up front. Seriously.
Super comfortable and clean
My second time back and again everything was super comfortable and clean. The bed is so comfy. The staff are lovely.
Enjoyable and comfortable stay
Enjoyable stay with facilities in good condition and friendly staff.
This hostel was in a great location, nice and central and walking distance to a lot of sights, shops, bars and restaurants, as welp as the River Liffey. The hostel itself was safe, quiet and clean. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly.
I was in a mixed dorm room with three young men who snored all night and then started listening to a basketball game with the sound up at 6 am. Worst roommates ever!!
Staff very helpful and pleasant. Great spot for getting around to see city sites.
Decent hostel
Decent hostel. A little concern about roommates. Keep bags secure.
No wifi in the rooms, no working shower! Dirty place, doesnt have most of the basics, but they claim they do
Great and easy for foreigners
Clean and basic...
The room was double booked, eventually got a room but much smaller and double bed instead of two single...part payment was refunded...clean and basic..
I stayed in the 18 person dorm room. It's a large space and didnt feel crowded. The showers were cramped and one didn't drain very well. There was a lack of hooks and shelves in both the bathroom and bedroom spaces. That's pretth common in most hostels. The kitchen is large and well equipped. Tea, coffee, and hot chocolate supplies are provided. The hostel is super convenient to find. It's literally 70 steps or less from the #16 bus stop. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. There are also lots of grocery stores, including SPAR and Tescos.
This was a great stay in a wonderful location. Easy to get to everything (Trinity College, shops/restaurants, the river, Temple Bar, bus tour meeting locations, etc.) They have lockers in the main lobby you can rent through a machine and the front desk person gave me change for a bill so I had coins to put in the machine - this was SO helpful as even after I checked out I was able to keep my stuff in the locker while walking around Dublin. I came back to get my bags before leaving for the airport. I stayed in a female 6 bed room and it was fine - one bathroom for 6 girls goes about as far as you'd expect - especially when they're getting ready for a night out. Make friends, lol! The bathroom floor got soaked everytime the shower was used and the bathroom is very tiny - I imagine a larger person might have trouble in there. My one qualm was that the website says they have nightly pub crawl tours and I asked the front desk about this, they said they don't do them. So that was disappointing. I went out to Temple Bar with a girl I'd met on a day trip that day instead, which was amazing, but if I hadn't met her I wouldn't have had evening plans anymore which sucked. I was hoping to make friends on the hostel's pub crawl. They need to update their site.
Staff were very good and helpful. In a good area to get around Dublin
Great for young people
Never stayed at a hostel until this time. Thank goodness we had 3 people to get a private room & bathroom. The luggage hold room is not secure, people are in & out constantly. Highly suggest using the locked lockers that u have to pay for. Kitchen area is open freely which is nice. Otherwise all staff was super nice & helpful.
Really nice
Was nice coz I thought that I booked a single room but when I arrived I realized that I booked mix room but they gave me one single room for the night that I came and without pay extra even tho after that I had to looking for other hotel to stay
While our room was small...we loved it. The hostel was centrally located and close to many pubs and restaurants. We were able to store our luggage after check-out to enjoy a few more hours.
Nice hostel in the middle of the city and really nice staff
Lovely place to stay in beds comfortable very central to where we needed to be staff very helpful breakfast was lovely. Had a great stay in dublin
Maybe it is better to have some hangers in the room ,especially for the summer period when coats and jackets are used.
Nice Hotel Friendly staff Excellent location I enjoy staying at this place
I was very pleased with my stay and the mix in the dorm was excellent. The breakfast was very good and the staff were very helpful. I will stay their again. Only problem was the all night traffic. But as I am partially deaf it was O.K for me Thanks Phyllis
Good place for quick stop.
Excellent location with everything you need within walking distance. Staff were stellar and the room is what we needed for our night. If you're looking for a quick stop and just need a place to get your head down for the night, this is a perfect spot.
Great location and clean
Great location and facilities. Room was spotless and beds very comfortable
2 person room and parking
We stayed in a two person room and it was like having a hotel room with two twin beds. It was great location. The only complaint was the beds were not the best, not the worst though. The parking garage that was closest give a student rate if you go to the office. THe photo is the view from our room.
Great alternative for a short stay in the city
The bed was €26 including breakfast. staff was somewhat unfriendly, but I guess that comes with dealing with the masses. Very pleased with the price and the quality of the room. The beds even have USB and power plugs so you can charge your devices effortlessly. The breakfast was nice, too. All in all definitely recommendable and in an expensive city like Dublin, a great alternative to spend the night.
clean, affordable, great location, as advertised. Coming again.
A friendly bright place to stay for cheap in the centre of Dublin. Don't expect 5-star accommodation. It has everything you need.
Excellent Location
If you want a central location within walking distance of most tourist attractions this is the place to stay. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly and will assist with any questions that you have. I would recommend this hostel if you are looking to stay in Dublin on a budget. We stayed in a private room for four that had a double bed and bunk bed which was ideal as we were visiting the city with a 9 year old child. The room was very quite and despite the hostel been busy there was very little noise.
Ok for 1 night
Accommodation in Dublin is unbelievably expensive and this budget hostel is no exception. Super friendly staff, safe location/environment and great plentiful breakfast make up for very basic room/bathroom: tiny, bare, sad and very noisy since right on busy street with the constant trudge of double-decker buses going by. No air in room without (single) window fully open, so noisy as. 'Tis what it is.
Not a good place to rest, excellent for partiers
The staff is very nice and helpful, the lobby has a nice lounge where people can socialize, breakfast was better than in other hostels I stayed, the rooms and common areas were clean and the fact that every bed has it's own cellphone charger was a good plus, but the metal beds as well as the doors were very noisy. The clinking sound never stops! The area is not a quiet one either. We hear traffic and in the morning the construction noise was quite loud. Not a good place to rest but a very good one for those who go to Dublin to party.
Irish Hospitality
I've stayed in many hostels over the years & you rank up with the best, especially the great breakfast selection! Thanks
Never go to this place
Only thing good is the location. Dirty room and bath, impolite reception, bad breakfast, pay for bath towel ……
Great experience excellent staff
This was my first hostel ever and i do not regret it. The staff was excelent. The heavey set irish gentleman that works the front desk during the evening was amazingly helpful. He truelly appeared to enjoy helping guest, myself included, and was very knowledgeable. He saw my last name had irish heritage and went into detail about the history of my family name and other irish families that had ties to mine. Would stay here if I am ever in dublin again. The one con I had was there were no electrical sockets in the room, only in the common area.
Wifi internet is too slow!
room too hot, had to put own bed linen on, way too expensive for a hostel.
Great location but nightclub next door
Nice little hostel in great location for the city centre and bus to the airport! Only issue was the nightclub located pretty much next door with loud music until the early hours. The dorm I stayed in you could feel every beat of the music through the bed frame and people chatting in what I guess was the smokers area outside the locked external door of the room. That said there isn't much the hostel can do about that. Overall would recommend the hostel...
Look out for lack of power socket
The hostel was great, EXCEPT there is not enough power socket, and that the voltage is not high enough for charging just 2 devices. The socket was not well designed so the plugs could fall out easily after insert.
The staff are great; the location is good. Rooms are a little crowded when every bed is full and the bathroom has its quirks, but I would still stay here again in the future.
The receptionist is very friendly, and straight away gave information about Dublin and all you need to know for sightseeing. The room is okay, but not the best. Recommend this place for short stay to see Dublin.
good for the price
Great for the price. Perfect location for touring Dublin. In walking distance to bar templer. 30 min from the airport on the bus which is only $6 euros.
Great Value
Great location downtown Dublin. We chose private bedrooms and enjoyed our stay. It was a lot cheaper than a hotel. We felt safe and secure.
Good value and well located base
We had a private room - absolutely fine, if a little dark and lacking some comforts! Dead central location, good breakfast and friendly, helpful staff (even putting food out for us for breakfast at 4am before our flight home)
Good Budget Room In Dublin
I had a private room which was very affordable for being right in the center of Dublin within easy walking distance from the main attractions like Trinity College and O'Connell street. The room was small and had two single beds and a small bathroom. Fine for 1 person, it would be tight with two. The bathroom also had two faucets, so water was either cold or hot, no warm. The shower was good. Lots of kids/students here so the lobby could get noisy, but I had no trouble in my room. Slow elevator. Overall though, for the price, this was well worth it.
Convenient location
The hostel was conveniently located near pickup points for excursions, city centre, pubs, and little shops.
Ashfield hostel-all the best
The hostel was not a fantastic one, to be true, but the service was very good, polite and understanding. A couple of important things that the hotel could improve on are: to make shower cabins bigger, which should make them safer for use; and to allow guests take keys with them!!! Leaving keys at the reception can be frustrating...
good hostel
The gentleman on check in during day time was very helpful to everyone. He helped me a lot as i had to work with my laptop during the next morning afternoon. The rooms are ok and the showers good. But i couldnt sleep until 3am with the disco next door. Free breakfast also good.
A good place to stay with very friendly stuff
It was a good experience here everyone respect each other. And the stuff are very friendly they recommend different things to do here. And also you can use the locker under your bed for free as well if you have a bit bigger padlock to lock it.
excellent location
Everything ok! the rooms a little bit small but everything ok!
An ok stay
Good cheap hostel accommodation which is ok for late night short term stay in Dublin. Was ok for what was paid. Close to temple bar and o Connell street.
Very good
Very good
Avoid, too expensive and horrible
The worst hostel I have ever stayed at. The price is just theft. It smells badly everywhere. I found some hair on my bedding. The beds are 100 years old and from metal, mattress is horrible, so very comfortable! It was not even that hot but hot enough so that we had to open the window. A lot of partying going on so sleep is impossible. Glass is being picked up by the city at 4am. Very respectful! You might as well stay homeless for the night, that would have been more comfortable. I went to the airport 4 hours earlier so I could sleep there.
Parfait
The hotel was alright; exactly what you expect. The kitchen is well equipped, the location is perfect and everything in town is walking distance. We had a triple private room with bathroom. Tiny but altight.
it was good, great kitchen. room are a bit noisy, you can hear the street
people on the street
Godt men dyrt
Ubicado ideal.
Ashfield hostel review
Sonst alles gut Frühstück, kaffe Saft Müsli Toast was will Man mehr? Kann man machen aber wer high life leben will sollte woanders hingehen xoxo gossip girl
Ubicación ideal
EXCELENTE .
Great location and staff
Good hostel. Each bed has plugs, light and a ledge which was nice to use. No curtains. Downfall would be no communal showers so although there was a shower in the room you might have to wait for others in the room. There were two additional toilets downstairs. Kitchen was nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Walkable to almost everything. Upstairs rooms are probably quieter at night.
