We had a Wonderful time!

English speaking staff. Great location!

We are from Australia and we were impressed that all the staff spoke English. The location was amazing and so were the views from the rooftop bar. There was a small gym and pool which we used and we were also able to run along the beach due to the hotel's close proximity. The rooms were spacious, beds very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast had lots of options and the restaurant overlooked the beach. We hope to return! Highly recommend!

Staff was not very cooperative, room condition was not as expected.

Awesome hotel, and really tried hard to speak English. The staff were very friendly, and the hotel had many activities that could be done, including Christ the Redeemer.

Upon my arrival after a long international flight, I was dismayed to wait over an hour for check-in, which was both inconvenient and unexpected. Despite the wait, I was further disappointed to find that the key card provided to me did not work, forcing me to leave my room and return to the front desk to resolve the issue. Additionally, I encountered problems with the Wi-Fi, which was not coded correctly. This issue caused me to miss an important meeting, adding unnecessary stress to an already exhausting day. These multiple errors significantly impacted my stay and my planned activities. I expected a higher standard of service and efficiency from a reputable establishment like the Arena Hotel. Nothing unique about hotel. It was pricey for the condition of hotel. Breakfast average. Room outdated. Smelly and mold in the room toilet didn’t flush for the whole day in our room and my friend room and even the lobby bathroom was not working. The staff said they had plumbing issue.

Property has a great location and very friendly staff even with my lack of Portuguese language had enjoyable times

The rooftop has an amazing view of Copacabana Beach. Everything was clean and tidy and the breakfast was great. The hotel staff is extremely helpful and friendly.

The only good about this hotel is the location and Roof Top Bar with great view of the beach. the breakfast was ok, everyday same breakfast. The staffs especially kitchen staff were not friendly and helpful. No coffee available, you should pay for everything. no water and any complementary in the room. They charge you triple price for water, coffee, and coke.

Great stay

One of the rooms took an hour after check in (2pm) to be ready. Then given a room on a lower floor rather the higher floor I requested due to the room on the higher floor not cleaned in time.

Location, front of the property is about few steps to cross the street and you're already stepping in the sand of Copacabana Beach. Property is in convenient location surrounded by restaurants, grocery stores and shopping. Take Uber to Lapa and it will cost you less than $5. Free breakfast is average, same line of food every day. Staff are great and helpful, but communication is hard since they don't speak English.

Wonderful location. Staff was a little grouchy and there are no beach chairs or umbrellas.

No tissue, no hand towel

This hotel is patently the worst I’ve seen in a long time. The rooms were moldy, and one of the guests in our party was highly allergic - the hotel staff denied the issue completely, refused to provide new rooms, then asked us to leave the hotel. They also didn’t send taxis to pick up our party despite our pre booking them, leaving people stranded at the airport. I’ve used Expedia for a while and was amazed by the photos and reviews, however my experience should be a cautionary tale. The hotel refused to refund the rooms, the staff became hostile to our party, and we were forced to book elsewhere taking a loss on this reservation. Expedia defers all refunds to the hotel, so expect to get screwed by both parties

Loved our stay at the Arena Copacabana! We had a double room with a view of the beach. The room was very clean, large, and the bed was comfortable. Staff on front desk, rooftop bar and restaurant very efficient, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Hotel is directly across the street from the beach. I felt very safe here and would definitely stay again.

Amazing hotel! I will definitely stay here the next time i come. The location is the best in copacabana and it has great food. Totally recommend it!

Room was nice and roomy. Great view. Pool was so tiny. Gym was pretty pathetic. Same breakfast everyday. Area around here is ok. I would reccomended staying elsewhere. Barra De Tujuaca . Too many homeless around here

Booked the sea view suite king bed which said sleeps 3 people. On arrival the front desk Veronica told me it could only be 2 adults and a child only. My sister was only staying the night we had come from São Paulo so I didn’t see the big deal if it didn’t say that online. The manger Jose came and o showed him the booking. He tried to be accommodating but this girl Veronica kept speaking in Portuguese insisting that we shouldn’t be allowed. Asked to upgrade to a different suite and couldn’t. We had to book a separate room for one night. And the next day I saw 3 people checking out of a double room. Isn’t a kind bed the biggest?? YouTube wasn’t working was told we’d have to call the next morning for maintenance. Breakfast buffet same thing pretty much everyday. Go early 7am we went around 9 one day it was crowded people coughing all over everything. 2 smalll elevators: room was nice ocean view. Beach was right across the street. Rooftop pool was small calamari was hard nothing exciting about their menu. They do have room service which my sister liked same as the dinner menu. Nothing really extraordinary about this place the view and beach is what you pay for

The service was exceptional

The check-in was terrible...had to wait at least 1 hour and they didn't even talk to us for at least 10min, totally ignored us. After all that they did give us a drink as apololgy which made it even worse because this drink was guess what : water !

The hotel is nice and welcoming, with great safety and security. However, the downside is the noise—you can hear sounds from other rooms, like footsteps or even snoring.

I liked the restaurant on the property. The proximity to the beach and room cleanliness and the staff. Can't say there was much I didn't like but the gym was rather small. Thats pretty much the only thing for me.

Disappointed

Hotel badly needs a refurb. There are big gaps under the doors so you hear everything. Bathrooms have mould in them. Food is bland and service takes ages. Only thing good about the hotel is the beach close to it.

The location was great if you want to be right on Copacabana beach. The beach view from the room was beautiful too. The staff at the pool were great and the food we ordered for lunch while on the roof was also great. The actual room was not as clean or as modern as I was expecting. But it was still a fine overall experience. We enjoyed getting a drink on the rooftop each night before going to dinner.

Room quiet, comfortable beds, amazing terrace with an amazing view, the beach is right across the hotel. Lots of food options, grocery stores near, shops. Hotel staff was amazing, helpful, friendly, accomodating. I wish i remembered everyone's name, but only have a couple, Deraldo always made us feel special, Jailton was carrying as well. Hotel breakfast was great, loved the fresh fruits and fresh squeezed juices... Anyway, we loved everyone and we appreciate their great customer service.

The hotel is in good area but the rooms are no frill and the towels had holes in them. The breakfast was very limited. Will not stay here again.

I thought the Pool was a little to small. The staff was friendly but had no sense of urgency. It didn't appear busy, but it took 20-30 minutes to get a Moscow mule and a coke. On our last day we actually left and went to another restaurant outside the hotel. Other than that it was excellent, from the staff, concierge and the cleanliness. If recommend this place to anyone

The good; Nice location to Copacabana Beach. The bad; We prepaid for two rooms for 4 nights. On the second night we were locked out of our room because we had 600 Reals = $125 USD$ charged to our room for food & drinks. Very inconvenient after a nice long day on the beach. Rooms were not ready for check in, ACs took over a day to cool down the rooms.

Great location - close to shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. Rooms are a bit small, and not very clean. The staff was excellent and very helpful.

Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Great location. Employees had hard time understanding English or they pretended not to . Took 2 days for someone to properly fix an overflow toilet, had to use toilet in lobby.

The property was beautiful especially the rooftop deck. It had a small pool, lounge chairs bar, and an upper deck for extra space. What it was missing was a locker/shower room.

The best location in copacabana for sure. Really nice people That lovely lady who works as home keeper is awesome. I got the room with full view of beach that was amazing. I would go to that hotel again and I recommend it to my friends. I hope you guys read my massage. I appreciate that

The food in the restaurant was excellent. However,to avoid confusion all of the items in the digital menu should also be in the table menu.As there are more options in digital.

Great location. Ok, so this property is not the Four Seasons, but it is in a great location. The windows are floor to ceiling. I had a corner room with an amazing view, but extended a few days and had to move - the view was still good. A/C is not perfect. Breakfast buffet was very good. Restaurant for dinner was spotty with some dishes good, and others just barely average. Rooftop terrace has amazing views of Copacabana. I would stay here again. Staff was very nice and helpful. Many restaurants in the area, and a grocery store one street away.

Solo Traveler meets Copacabana

The location of the hotel is great, literally right across the street from Copacabana beach. The downfall is that the area is not the safest as a solo traveler safety is something that is important to me. The hotel itself is not what I expected from photos or previous reviews. The hotel is older and you can tell. The room was outdated and not very clean. However, the view from room was amazing. For the price they charge I would have expected more. The complimentary breakfast was ok nothing over the top. The rooftop pool is small and the gym is small as well.

Right at Copacobana beach , unfortunately the weather was not cooperating while we were there .

This was the best property on the strip based on the cleanliness of the room and the view. The view was amazing with the floor to ceiling windows. Loved how clean it was and all around the view from the Suite even showed us the beach side and also Christ the Redeemer. More than enough space, lounging area.

The Arena hotel is not accommodating to early arrivals from the USA. We had an overnight flight and arrived at the hotel at 7 am. I asked if they could prepare the room earlier. They said no, check in is at 2 pm. I asked if we could have breakfast, they said no. Your complimentary breakfast will start tomorrow.

I was extremely disappointed how I made paid an additional fee for breakfast, my stay was 6 days out of which I had breakfast 3 times. On 2 of my visits I realized that the food was not being replenished and finished fast due to amount of guest. I asked for eggs n they refused to accommodate me n my daughter by saying they were out of eggs. There was no orange juice the staff at the restaurants did not do anything. I had to place a complaint at the front desk and thanks to them they gave the order to the restaurant to give us wanted. Also on day of checkin we arrived at 8 am to the hotel, I requested for an early check in, I would have gladly paid bc I had been traveling overnight, they couldn’t accommodate I requested breakfast and they said I had to pay for it since my reservation was starting after 2 PM and technically I had missed breakfast. So I paid for the breakfast which I felt was not called for and poor customer service as it turned out they didn’t have our rooms ready till after 2:45 PM. I do wanna complement the people at the front desk and Security especially Felipe for doing an awesome job. The restaurant food was not the greatest. There was no housekeeping on our last day, housekeeping never refilled the soap dispensers.

The front office staff are attentive and helpful. The other staff speaks little English thus communication can be a bit of a problem. The hotel is adequate and clean.

You’re paying for the location. Awesome spot in Copacabana and a great roof top patio. However, the room was disappointing. Our toilet wasn’t functioning and required maintenance several times, the AC unit could power a superstore, which is convenient if you’re hot but you soon find yourself in a freezer. It’s very difficult to maintain. And lastly, the door may as well be open for how non sound proofing the rooms are, you can hear everything above, to either side, and in the hallways. Overall, it met our needs for the price, but it has some flaws.

This hotel is too expensive for what it has to offer. Elevator is too small, rooms are not insulated enough, you can hear your neighbour talking even when they’re not yelling. Room was not cleaned even when we got back from city tour at 4pm, when we complained they said it’s normal to clean late until 5pm. There are more cheaper option for even better service in the area.

Perfect stay at Copacabana

My wife and I stayed at the Arena Copacabana hotel (Suite, Sea View) for two nights in October 2024. The location is perfect, and the hotel is very modern. The Suite we stayed in was spacious and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed waking up to the wonderful view of the Copacabana every morning; the view is worth the additional cost! The breakfast was good, with lots of choices but not very exciting. There are lots of restaurants and stores nearby, especially the streets at the back of the hotel; the streets do get a little sketchy the further away you move from the beach. The hotel personnel were all very friendly and helpful, and we were able to get a late check-out without any bother. All-in-all, a great place to stay.

Great location however the surrounding is not very clean, there are m homeless people laying around BUT we didn't feel unsafe. There are police everywhere in the area all the time, which is great.

Great location. Bathroom is very dated. Bath towels are old, drab and frayed. This is a 3 star hotel in a 5 star location. Will not come back.

The interior of the hotel room was a bit run down (not like-new as advertised). 350ml water bottles in the room were charged for about 10 real a bottle, which I think is a bit too pricey. AC seemed to make a lot of noise which was annoying when I tried to get some sleep. Everything else was good, including the breakfast, daily maintenance and staff friendliness and services.

I like the location directly across the street from the cocacabana beach. . Perfect for pickups and drop offs when I signed up for an excursion breakfast included and then restaurant on bc site in case I did not go out. Pool on roof was excellent view site gir ygg by d mountains.
