Staff were amazing at this hotel, nothing a bother! We had a Deluxe Swim up room which was ideal for my mam as on the flat. Great hotel, nice food selection, superb views!
The staff at the Apostolata are fantastic! They really made our stay a complete pleasure. Always warm, friendly, and professional throughout. The food was wonderful and the access to the sea at the bottom of the resort was a real treat!
vacaciones de lujo
todo perfecto desde la recepcion hasta el check out. limpieza, comidas, pileta, servicio, atencion...excelente estadia
Very courteous staff, beautiful location and very relaxing.
The breakfast and dinner buffet can definitely do with upgrading- very bland and not much choice- desserts though are fabulous!
Staff were very friendly and always helpful, the location was peaceful and safe. The property we stayed in had a great view and was very spacious however the jacuzzi was broken, there were a lot of insects in the apartment coming from the wall at the balcony and the lounge area sofas were uncomfortable. Overall enjoyed my stay and would come back!
The resort is amazing, unbeatable view from room, restaurants and also from the pool. Sufficient sun lounges, great pool bar and cafe. Good quality food but not enough choices if you're staying more than a week. Extremely friendly and helpful staffs, especially Nik, Katerina, Lena and Kostas. Definitely will go back.
Very nice but not 5 star
Family holiday. Booked the suite with private pool. Condition of hotel a little tired in parts. We had half board and the food was very mediocre. Beds were hard. They seem unable to provide bespoke hotel services (minibar stocking as a challenge, room service cost €10 per person even though breakfast was included in our stay) as this is largely an all inclusive property. It’s a little out of town and taxis are occasionally difficult to book so the hotel should provide better shuttle services. Gym is pretty inadequate and they still have a 4 person maximum capacity. Why? Pool area is great and Konstantinos at the pool bar excellent. This is a 3+ star hotel at most in my view.

Nice place
The pool bar and reception staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The pool area was clean but the sun beds had seen better days and could do with replacing. Dinner was just standard offerings, and breakfast the same - it did the job- re-fuelled you but with no real enjoyment. Rooms need an overhaul, tired decor and stained lamps, aircon pumped out a weird smell and bathroom flooded on day one. Shuttle bus to Skala was great and the golf buggy option was ideal for anyone who struggles with lots of steps. Will I be returning? It’s a no from me.
We went for our mini moon and it was lovely. Great staff and good setting.
All staff were really nice and attentive. However the hotel is not fit for 5 star at all, rooms are dirty and outdated and not cleaned as regularly as they should. Breakfast is terrible presented with cheap quality food and not much choice at all.over all the hotel is not adequate to deal with so many people and needs a serious revamp. A low 3 star!
Fantastic views from the room, the restaurant and the bar. Good selection of food, and the staff in the restaurant were lovely.
Amazing establishment!!! Definitely would recommend and will return
Amazing property with access to beach. We stayed in a villa with private pool. A little old but location is well worth it
Lovely stay at Apostolata
The views from the hotel were fantastic, the pool area was lovely, the sea swimming area was also great. Breakfast was good, plentiful and lots of choice. The staff were really helpful, all of them - from breakfast, to bar to reception. The room was a little tired and could do with a refresh but honestly, considering lockdown, you absolutely can't blame them for not making this a priority!
Wonderful stay with the family. Spacious family room. Staff absolutely amazing. Food diverse. Will return !
Restaurants in hotel were not all open. Food in the open restaurant was nearly always cold
Fantastic stay!
We stayed for 4 nights at the hotel, but in just a short stay it was clear to see the impeccable service ran at Apostolata island resort & spa. Dimitris and rest of the team are fantastic, they cannot do enough for you and will always be happy to help. The rooms are cleans, spacious and comfortable. I’d recommend to get a sea view rooms, the view is incredible particularly at sunrise. The breakfast is nice with enough selection for everyone, and to mix up what you eat each day. However I’d say the dinner buffet is just ‘OK’ at best and could definitely be improved. It is definitely worth exploring the villages on the island for dinner as there are many beautiful options with fantastic restaurants. The infinity pool by reception is very quiet and relaxing with a fantastic view. The main pool is large and good for families. The pool bar has a good selection of food and drinks, the pizza’s are pretty good. The trip down to the small cove/sea is definitely worth it. Perfectly clear waters and lots of fish, so bring a snorkel. The resort is set on a steep hill so can be quite tiring, particularly walking back up. However the staff are happy to come and collect you via golf buggy! Overall we had a fantastic stay, the hotel lovely and set in a beautiful location, definitely worth a visit and is a great price.
Skala stay
Absolutely amazing stay what can I say about the staff at apostalata from the minute we arrived to the minute we checked out so polite so friendly nothing to much trouble the only downside was the restaurant is a bit hard work because of the covid rules (not there fault) I would go back here in a heartbeat
Pros - staffs are very friendly and helpful. Beautiful setting and good location. Cons - poor selection of buffet both breakfast and dinner, need more fresh vegs, seafood etc. Food was pretty disappointed Lack of amenities, they request €3 per day to use safe! Found couple of hairs in the bathtub.
We enjoyed the Sea terrace but sunbeds and general area could be better. Overall the staff were friendly and helpful..the cleaner did a great job each day. Our room was underneath the main entertainment area and was extremely noisy. Overall the hotel appears 'tired' and needs some refurbishment. This is also true of the reception lounge as seating was stained and soft furnishing poor and uncomfortable. The gym equipment whilst ok...required maintenance. Hygiene was lacking and no anti bacterial spray or wipes were available to wipe down equipment after use.
Loved the serenity pool Entertainment needs more variety Staff manager very helpful Front desk staff very helpful Check in very fast we got upgraded
Very nice hotel, great facilities and excellent staff
I thought some of the hotel needed updated , the chairs in the lobby were pretty disgusting looking. Staff worked hard but their uniforms weren’t good . Staff were very polite.
Tired and run down. Not 5 star. Dangerous disregard to electricity. Fridge flooded due to being turned off and extension lead was in a pool of water. Requested an iron, waited 2hours and was given an iron in poor repair and received an electric shock
We had an absolutely wonderful stay. Lovely clean rooms and whole resort with on the hand staff at all times making our stay hassle free. No need for any stress. The walk to the restaurant was hard work as it is a very steep incline but it was worth the Buffett! Couldn’t fault this place!
Family summer vacation at Apostolata hotel
We had a 4 night stay at the hotel. The family room is big enough for 2 adults and 3 kids. The views from the balcony and from other part of the hotel are amazing. The staff are friendly and helpfull. The beds are not so comfortable and another minus is that the family room is one open space without any seperation between parents and kids. Breakfest and dinner was ok. They let you also to change dinner to lunch. After all it was a lovely vacation in kefalonia.
I liked everything about this property - the views, the food, the pool, the views!!
We arrived late and the staff at the check in was friendly and helpful. Staff at the restaurant was also welcoming and friendly. The pool, restaurant with the sea view and the lobby were all very nice. All rooms has a big balcony and sea view which was amazing. However the room needs major update and renovation. There was dirty stain on the blankets and the coffee spoon in the room has milk stick on it. Shower head and the holder was broken. We brought a swimming inflatable with us for the little one and we asked the front desk if they have a pump for it. They said the lady at the mini market within the hotel can pump it for us. We went there and at first she was giving us a warm welcome. As soon as she noticed we were here to ask for help, suddenly she rolled her eyes and gave me the poker face. She took the pump out and other customers came in. she left me standing there while she was chatting with other customers and completely ignored me. I honestly don’t mind if they ask for a small fee; leave the pump out for self service or put a sign up said will only pump your swimming infladable if you make a purchase at the store. I think her reaction was very rude and unprofessional. We were there during high season and for the amount of money we paid per night and the fact this hotel is promoting as a 5 stars, I was not expecting that type of customer service.
Beautiful location overlooking the water but by no means a five star hotel. Service, food and room maybe what you would expect in a 3.5/4 star hotel.
It’s nice just dated and looks like it’s from 2000s or 1990s era. Needs to be updated to sustain a 5* rating.
Resort was located a short distance away from Skala beach. Preferred this as there were not to many tourists around. Room was location was up high so provided great ocean views.
Review of our 7/13-16/2019 stay
Our room was not ready when we got there at check in time & we had to wait in the lobby for an hour before it was cleaned & ready for us. However once our room was ready the manager of guest services walked us to our room & gave us a bottle of wine for our troubles; which was nice. We had half board, the buffet was alright, nothing spectacular, but had a variety of different offerings, so there’s something for everyone. The facility was clean for the most part, though there were often ants in the hallway from the bird dropping’s, but it’s outdoors & that’s hard to avoid. The floors were mopped quite often to prevent it, but it’s an inevitable. The rooms were clean & the views were gorgeous. There’s no business center, but reception was very helpful & happily printed our boarding passes for us. Over all, the hotel is not a 5 star facility in our opinion, but we’d definitely return.
From the moment we arrived, we were so impressed with everything about this hotel from its staff, room, facilities....Simply fantastic.
Much better than I expected. Good food. Friendly staff. Wonderful pool area. Thankyou
The gym, jetty beach platforms and pool were the highlights here for me. The view was great too. The room needs a fresh lick of paint, preferably white to cover the mint green ceiling. They need new beds too and it will be so much better here.
The staff was very diligent and happy! What is disliked the most was the wifi connection that was poor in the room.
Overall good experience, lots to chose from buffet breakfast and dinners yummy! dimitrus was very helpful when problems appeared. Little suggestions about the closing time at outdoor pool 1830 for a holiday resort and a hot weather is way too early.
The customer service was the best that I’ve experienced in any hotel. They could not do more for you, and were happy to do anything to further enhance your stay. Outstanding staff working in the restaurants and the reception. They also went the extra mile to help me and my new wife have a romantic and special welcome.
Welcoming staff in a relaxing environment. A little out of Skala but shuttle service is good or taxi is only c6euro. Extensive selection at buffet breakfast and dinner.
Great stay!
Brilliant stay at this hotel and the staff couldn't do more for you. Highly recommend.
Kefalonia Apostolata
An amazing place! Spectacular!
Not a 5* Hotel
The hotel is well out of Skala, you need a car (which I had), there is a hotel transfer but it stops at 5pm, after that your on your own. Reception & spa staff were very nice n helpful. Restaurant n pool staff never smile just gavr you the impression your a chore for them. Breakfast ok never changes at all, coffee horrible & you pay 2euro per glass for proper orange juice. Half board evening meals were basic canteen quality, food not hot, so much processed food/meats all food gave you the impression it was being controlled on a low tight budget. Much better eating in town. Do not pay extra for half board not worth it. Pool was a great size, pool bar food horrible. Rooms fine, bed ok. I’m sure you will find better for the same money. Looks and sounds better than it is. Def not a 5* Hotel
Beautiful room with view to die for
We were upgraded to a beautiful room with a semi-private pool. We were only there 4 days so didn't do much exploring. Got bus to scalar which is fine for a couple of hours. It's a bit out of the way so if you're not happy chilling a car would be useful. All the public areas are gorgeous and the staff are fab. There's a lovely outside terrace for evening entertainment. As the reviews said the only not amazing thing is the food...it's fine just not amazing. The soups were delicious though! And the desserts...Maybe they just work better on a buffet than other things. We did snorkeling one day...lovely experience but not many fish!
Great week!
Loved staying, the hotel was clean and well maintained. The staff in the restaurant were pleasant and helpful. The pool was cleaned nightly and the loungers were nice. Loved the sea being so close (no sand just an edge with ladder) great for chilling near and snorkelling! Would definitely come back.
Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting!
Really lovely hotel with a gorgeous sea view. If you’d like a peaceful, relaxing holiday this is the perfect place. The staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. Thank you to Demitris (guest relations manager) who went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. Also going to miss our daily chats with Chad from the animations team. So long until next year Apostolata ❤️
The island was nice, the hotel amenities could have been better. The spa was out of towels and you would have to ask to have the sauna turned on
We had an amazing time and staff and service was excellent!! Absolutely loved it.
Beautiful sea view apartment
My partner and I have just come back from an amazing week in kefalonia, where we stayed in a sea view apartment in the Apostolata Spa and Hotel. The room was separate from the main base of the hotel, very spacious and clean. It had much needed air conditioning, a tv for news catch up and a fridge too. The views were amazing and the area was lovely and quiet. The only downside would be that the WiFi was quite poor and slow. We had half board stay. Breakfast was lovely, with a large selection of cooked food, fruit and cereals. Dinner was also good, but we chose to eat out nearly every night as the main Scala town was very nearby and we wanted to experience the local tavernas. Overall, a really pleasant stay, with lovely staff and a relaxing atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!
Beautiful pools and views from hotel.
Lovely pools and great views. Location a bit too remote. Food for half board was average.
Not a 5 stars
not a 5 stars hotel. Cleaning the room was terrible and no bathroom utilities changed, I have to go to the reception asking for shampoo... The room was very old and the bathroom smelt bad. Good things of the hotel are the staff really helpful and the food.
disappointing, not 5 star
This hotel has the potential to be the 5 star hotel that it advertises except that it falls flat on achieving that. The main desk had lovely staff manning it who welcomed us to the hotel. Unfortunately the restaurant staff were surly and slap dash. The food was tasteless and occasionally uncooked. We ate in town each evening rather than use our half board evening meal at the hotel. All of the extra niceties which usually accompany a 5 star stay had to be paid for such as the sauna. At 20Euros I thought that was a bit of a cheek. We had a lovely week on the island but didn't spend much time in the hotel as it was disappointingly 3 star at most.
Spectacular views
Lovely hotel, built in a staged style on a cliff side. The brochure pictures do not really do it justice. Stunning pool and amazing seaviews from nearly all the facilities. Extremely friendly and obliging staff. Kefalonia and Ithaca beautiful. The hotel is not very near a town so we would recommend car hire for a couple of days to see the island. We would also recommend a boat trip to Ithaca. The food is good but became a little monotonous. I found the beds narrow and rather hard. But a lovely holiday and hotel.
Pleasant Hotel with beautiful views
We had a lovely room with a swim up pool, The room facilities were basic, they should have provided us with free bottles of water daily. We had the half board deal so we got free breakfast and free dinner, however any drinks we had with our dinner we had to pay for even water, at least one drink should have been free. Rooms should really come with Iron/Ironing board, we had to keep requesting one from room service.
Beautiful hotel and excellent amenities. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Beautiful location on hillside overlooking sea
Good location about 1 hour drive from main airport. Breakfasts and dinner very good quality. Staff very friendly. Weather brilliant. What more do you need?
Stayed from the 19th-26th July 2017. Thou roughly enjoyed our stay and we were upgraded to a sea view room. Whilst I would agree with some previous comments in that the hotel isn't really a 5 star. We were very happy with the hotel overall. The food was good and service excellent. The facilities are good and the infinity pool is wonderful. Yes there are a lot of steps but it was manageable for us, I would agree that the evening entertainment is a bit dire and maybe they could provide an early evening bus service into Skala. However it is a short taxi trip away. Overall a very enjoyable holiday in a beautiful place.
Nice to come back
Everything was nice and smooth. Very helpfull staff. We had to find a local mechanist to fix our car, hotel recepcionist suggested one and problem solved.
Excellent hotel
Clean and comfortable room food quality and choice superb at all meals the pool is huge with plenty of sunbeds and parasols the bars are well stocked I speak as I find and don't listen to moaning Brits it is not a UK 5 star hotel it is a Greek 5 star superb value for the price we paid
ok hotel - not 5*
The hotel is not a true 5*. The hotel is quite far out of Skala and not an easy walk. It's set on a hill so difficult for people with mobility issues but the staff would pick up guests on a golf cart if required. Standard rooms are quite basic and not what you would expect from 5*, the beds and bedding are not luxurious by any standards. The room was quite dirty on the floor and the shower shot out loads of black bits when we first used it like it hadn't been used for some time. The pool is nice, usual issues with people reserving beds and not using them for hours. Didn't realise it was an all inclusive resort when we booked. Lots of people queuing for drinks when the pool bar opened! All in all not bad if you don't mind a package your type hotel! The staff make up for what is lacking they are all friendly and helpful and genuinely look happy in their jobs. Lobby entertainment reminded me of hotels back in the 80's!! Not my cup of tea!! The spa treatments were extremely good, found it odd that the sauna and steam room were only available if you paid extra.
A lovely break, friendly efficient staff in lovely surroundings! I would advise them to look into some other forms of nightly entertainment? Games perhaps or bingo. We just found sitting around listening to the same person singing every night was a tad boring. That being said we had an amazing week and will definitely be back!
Superb hotel with great food and facilities.
We thought that we were bed and breakfast, but were very pleased to be told that we were half-board. Also we were given a lovely room upgrade to a superior suite with stunning views of the sea,and a beautiful sunrise was included every morning.
Free Shuttle to town, beautiful view on top of the hill
We enjoyed our stay but this is no 5 star resort
The hotel is located on a hill in the southeast corner of the island with tremendous views out to sea. On a clear day you can see the Greek mainland. We've stayed in many 5 star hotels around the world and we would not class this one in that league. Overall, we would give it 3.5 stars. There was a severe thunderstorm one night and it poured with rain the entire day which trapped everyone in the lobby area of the hotel. The hotel wasn't built to take rain like this and it poured in everywhere, even in the lifts. It made it quite difficult getting around the hotel without getting your feet wet. This didn't deter us. We headed for the indoor spa which was surprisingly empty. We had a lovely relaxing time in and around the decent sized Jacuzzi. It has a glass ceiling which is also the floor of the reception area. So girls be aware if you're wearing a skirt and walk across this. The island is beautiful and unspoilt. We hired a car and drove all over it. The roads were challenging with many tight, steep hairpin bends. After the heavy rain there were mud slides everywhere but that didn't deter us. We recommend visiting the beautiful fishing village of Fiskardo on the northern most point of the island. Well worth the 2.5 hour drive from where we were on the opposite side of the island. We also recommend lunch at one of the restaurants on the quay in the island's capital, Argostolion where you can see large turtles swimming in the waters just in front of you.
location
To far from Scala. Great Hotel with great staff. Food too similar after 2 weeks. A change was needed
Great hotel for couples!
The hotel was very beautiful and comfortable given the budget. Slept well every night. With free parking, the convenience to travel with a rental was great. Food was OK but not bad. And the sea views are gorgeous! The bathroom could use some TLC to remove mould in the grout but nothing major.overall a great hotel and would stay there again.
Not 5 star, not worth the money. Very dirty
The hotel is located in a nice spot and has nice views and nice spots to swim. It is not a 5 star hotel. Our room was dirty and towels weren't replaced for 3 days. The bedding was too short for the beds and I got bitten by what I assume was bed bugs every night, I booked a double room for our honeymoon but was given 2 single beds pushed together with seperate bedding. The cleaners dumped bags in front of our room every day and even left a mattress there, there was always bugs and ants crawling around the front and it never got cleaned. Lots of stray cats around which looked diseased on the back of their necks. Our shower was blocked twice and the shower didn't work twice, after complaining to the reception who were rude and talked to me like I was an idiot and didn't know how to turn on a tap. The food was better than I was expecting, after reading other reviews. Lots of options to choose from so you can just keep getting stuff till you find something that has flavour. The coffee they give you is very weak though and not worth drinking. We got massages at the day spa which weren't the worst we have had but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. View from the pool was good
Apostolata excellent
Nothing else to say besides 'superb!' Sad to be home !
Excellent Hotel
This is an excellent hotel. Staff are very friendly and attentive.
Kefalonia a true gem
Staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. My friend and I had a lovely break and as we both like walking we were happy to walk into Skala. There is a complimentary shuttle to the beautiful long beach if walking isn't appealing. We didn't spend time around the pool as prefer swimming in the sea. However the pool is amazing and probably the longest I have ever seen throughout my travels. For people who don't like steps make sure you ask for a room on the reception level.
We were very much the end of season - the last week in fact - but until thelast day really felt we were part of a thriving hotel.
Fabulous hotel, with beautiful pool.
Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, everything was as good as or more than shown in the brochure. Nothing was too much trouble for all hotel staff, who were friendly and helpful in every way. The restaurant food was excellent, with lots to choose from for every age & taste.
Hotel with a Beautiful View and a Lot of Steps!
Had a great stay at this hotel. Although there are a lot of steps to contend with as it is set on a sloping site, it has a nice feel to it with rooms spread over a large area overlooking the sea. Unfortunately there was no option for just B&B when we booked, so we were on half board, but we did eat out a lot instead of taking the evening meal. Food was fine but we just needed a bit more variety. We had a hire car so it was easy enough to go further afield than just the hotel or the nearest resort. No beach to speak of at the hotel, although there is access to the sea for a swim. Evening entertainment is laid on if you want it, and there is a nice verandah to sit on and enjoy an evening drink.
Nice hotel but awful food
Really nice clean big room and fabulous pool but the food let it down massively. Think school dinners every night. overall a nice hotel though.
Far from five
Naturally I prefer to be positivly surprised when visiting a new place / hotel. In this case it was the opposite. In my opinion a five star place should have flavless interiour and perfect functioning facilities. Our room had many signs of poor cleaning over time. Dirty toilet brush, broken toilet seat, terrible and very hard to operate water mixer, spots of dirt in the corners of the shower floor and bathtub, and the bathroom floor in general. One lightbulb was not working and a spotlight in the ceiling was misfitted. One shelve was broken and the cabinet door was damaged. The trashcan was not empty when we arrived. The wi-fi was very poor and when checking with several guests they experienced the same problem. In the hotel information litterature I noticed a text saying that since water ressources was poor on the Island they appreciated if guest would help to save as much water as possible during the stay. I pointed out that the poor functioning mixer in the shower, resulted in a huge loss of water. They were not aware of the text at all!!! I presented this to the booking responsible one day before leaving. I think she was a little surprised to see the pictures of the room that I had taken. PS. we moved to another hotel in Agrostoli - Ionian Plaza. A three star hotel. If I should classify the two hotels Ionian Plaza should have been the five star hotel and Apostolata the three star.
this hotel is Max 3* not at all a 5*
this hotel was being advertised and sold to us from Expedia as a 5* hotel with WiFi in the entire resort, safe, etc. we would like to report that it is far from being a 5*. The wifi doesn't work at all in the rooms, nor in the public areas. It rarely and barely works in the lobby. The safe is available for extra charges Dailey The key of the room and the safe is a physical key, and not a card. It is so unsafe especially that the number of the suite is written on the key chain. The towels are given for 3 days, and you can only get them changed after 3 days of use. It is unacceptable to call this hotel and advertise it as a 5*! All the guest here are thinking the same. All that to say that we have enough extra charges and loosing enough money not being connected to Internet for out Buissnes,
A real jem in Kefalonia
Good points: Superb facilities, food and staff. Bad points: A lot of steps and WIFI connection down all week.
Pleasant hotel in a brilliant location
We arrived very late to a warm welcome where some snacks had been kept back for us. We had 2 rooms both kept clean and tidy for our week away - however sheets and towels changed only twice. Food was a buffet which was always good. Pool was good as was the hotel beach.
The staff were very efficient and extremely friendly and helpful. The quality and range of food was very good.
Great hotel, large clean room. Fantastic views
Very enjoyable stay, clean friendly hotel. Our room was very spacious and well furnished. Views were fantastic, pool area lovely. Down side lots of steps, also evening entertainment and bar area poor.
Great resort with sea views
Excellent staff throughout hotel. We had private pool villa with sea view a lovely quiet villa away from main hotel. Spa experience was perfect for our week away at this very beautiful island resort & restaurants were great too.
Great holiday Hotel
Excellent and exceeded expectationsFood better than expected too.
Fantastic hotel for families.
Loved it. The Staff couldn't have been more lovely and helpful.they bent over backwards to help us hiring cars, arranging taxis and finding us other hotels on the island. The buffet was good too. So sweet to our young children, getting them drinks and snacks to keep them happy. Holding the baby. I would recommend this as one of the best hotels on the island.
LOTS of steps, some staff less than helpful!! 3*
This is not a FIVE STAR hotel!! THREE at best. There are steps to get almost everywhere - yes there are lifts but you cannot access all the facilities from all of the lifts so a combination of lifts and steps is always the option. We had some concerns about replenishment of the in-room items which were promised in the hotels information - daily fruit NEVER given only after we asked - Daily water NEVER given only after we cornered the guy who was delivering some! In-room tea/coffee - when I asked reception about replenishment the answer given was 'Oh you should not have that!' I replied that we did and we wanted it replenished to which the receptionist replied 'We do not DO coffee!!' - However about twenty-five mins later we got some tea bags and milk, and the next day a few coffee bags were also left beside the provided kettle. The pool towel system is C R A P....you are supposed to keep your issued towels for up to THREE days and then request a changeover....We waited a couple of days - requested a change and were told they had 'run-out' of clean pool towels!!!!!Despite the hotels RULE of no reservation of the best poolside loungers personal items and towels were always being left on the better positioned loungers and NEVER were any removed!! The food was actually ok, despite the usual buffet crush BUT the outdoor dining area was plagued by hoardes of WASPS. The Hotels way of dealing with these nuisances was to have some plastic bottles with sweet liquid as insect traps - Why
Great hotel by the sea
Stayed there for a few nights - staff were amazing - especially at reception. Really helpful and went out of their way to attend to every need. Great views of the sunrise (sun sets on the other side of the island). The main outdoor pool is amazing - massive - never feels crowded. Breakfast buffet was good, lunch was a little disappointing. Didn't try the dinner. Comfortable rooms - spacious and nice balconies - we stayed in a junior suite (room 611) -- recommend that strip.
A lovely hotel.
A lovely hotel ! Situated a few kilometers outside of Skala in a peaceful area on the edge of a hill . Service excellence is something that the Apostolata can be proud of . It was very refreshing in a world where good service is not always the norm . Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful as was the reservation manager , The hotel is very clean and the grounds are beautifully kept . Our apartment looked over the ocean which had beautiful moonlight views at night . The apartment was clean , spacious and very tastefully decorated . The beach at the hotel is located down a steep hill .On a raised concrete area above the ocean but located under lovely pine trees which offer shade with sun loungers and umbrellas dotted a rounded. The ocean is crystal clear and calm and accessible by a ladder into the ocean . The pool area is beautiful and the restaurant at the pool offers reasonable priced food that is delicious. We stayed on a half board option . The breakfast buffet offered a wide range of tasty choices . The dinner buffet had a wide selection of salad/ meat /fish dishes and at no time did we battle with choice as the buffet choice was wide and varied . Most evenings the buffet had a a Greek corner. The food which my family enjoyed most . The deserts were delectable especially the traditional Greek pastries . We had a wonderful family holiday . Would love to return !
Quiet holiday to get away from everything
The hotel really lived up to the great reviews online. The hotel was very welcoming and all the staff were very friendly and spoke great English. The food was fantastic, fresh and delicious every day especially the lovely fruit. The waiting staff were really attentive and cleared tables very quickly if you wanted to sit nearer the lovely view. The pool was very relaxing and there was a nice mix of gentle activities to get involved in if you wanted to. There are lots of steps and a steep cliff down to the sea but it is well worth it. There are sunloungers and umbrellas at the bay and the sea is wonderful to swim in. This wouldn't be suitable for anyone with difficulties climbing a lot of steps or steep climbs. Skala is a small town nearby and the hotel runs a bus throughout the day apart from Sundays. I also went on one of the day cruises from Skala up to Fiskardo including two swim stops, lunch and a trip into an underground lake. This was lovely and great for a gentle, really enjoyable day out.
Great stay!
Very friendly staff with a nice atmosphere, brilliant setting for great views!
Great hotel!
Great hotel overall. If i had to pick on something then room facilities can be improved. Shower drainage not that good and a Jacuzzi which didn't empty. Would still recommend for everything else and would stay here again.
Nice but getting a little bit tired
On arrival we were greeted by an obnoxious check-in girl who claimed to know nothing about our booking a superior room with a sea view, despite showing her the booking confirmation. She have us a superior room with a view of a delapudated building and rubble! We complained and she then downgraded us to a normal room with a marginally better view! On asking to speak to the manager, it was resolved partially. We got a sea view with a 'reasonable' view. Not what was advertised and we really had to fight for it. Very unpleasant. On a positive note, the hotel is clean (despite us finding ants in the bed one morning), not sure it's the hotels fault though...hot environments etc. Room spacious, they do not do double beds, all singles/twins pushed together and NOT made up as doubles. Balcony very nice, two showers and a mini bar. Safety deposit box is so small it's not worth having, and they charge 3 Euros per day! Internet is appalling and keeps dropping out, very frustrating. Food choice is varied but can get very 'same' after a few nights. Would suggest going room only and eating in Skala. Much more choice and quite cheap too. Drinks, be careful. Nearly all watered down, all juices and wines! Stick to beer and get the real thing. Sea is quite a hike down a steep road and lots of steps. But no big deal for the fit!
Too far from Skala
The hotel has a great setting, and our room looked out to sea.Was fairly normal standard for 5star but in need of some renovation especially the bathroom. The balcony whilst very large was very souless and not particularly inviting (some pots etc would have helped). The staff were mixed, some quite helpful but just as many not very friendly.A mad scram for sunbeds near pool as all squashed together and for early July I can't imagine what the situation would be at height of summer. The buffet was boring and without atmosphere, just about loading plates! We ate out most nights despite being half board.Definitely need a car as it is too far to the nearest tavernas etc and the courtesy bus is infrequent and last one is 5.30 so no good for the evenings! So car or taxi only if you want to get out of hotel. The biggest shock was the charge of 20euros for the use of a key for the room safe!!!!!Never heard the like in any other hotel before! And if you want a picnic, instead of dinner, don't bother. Two sandwiches made with the toasting bread,2 apples and some dry cake, and water/juice.Not worth more than a few euros, and another opportunity to shine lost.Typical of the general lack of care(including no room service!)
Very enjoyable. Good hotel, getting a bit tired in
Liked the experience. Good hotel and facilities. Did not feel that the staff were very enthusiastic especially in the restaurant
Nice clean hotel. The hotel is spread wildly.
Food ok. Lots of steps and not enough lifts. All staff members are very supportive. Great curtesy ride into town. Nice little shop in hotel.
Wonderful!
Situated at the south Island, very clean and excellent customer service. We arrived very late (midnight) on Thursday evening, after we asked if there were any possibility to have dinner.. they manage to prepare pizza for us free of charge. Gym, spa, jacuzzi and tennis court.. absolutely perfect resort! If you are planning to rent a car (suggest) you can easily park in front of your room. Highly recommend for couple and family looking for a relaxing holiday.
Apostolata - May 2014
Friendly staff, good location over the sea, recommend the terraces over the sea rather than the pool. Food ok with a lot of choice so you will something. The rooms are getting tired but still ok.
