It was really awful! There were towels but they were used and on the bathroom floor, no hand wash, the TV and the mini fridge were not working. The bed was not done either and there was an awful smell in the building. Definitely not going there again!

Careful with booking here. Unreliable

The checkin was terrible, apartment booked was not available (keys werent in the safe), checkin email was not provided, had to call the office to get my key code and then the key wasnt there. Office sent someone and informed me that they will come within 20 minutes, they showed up 1:50 hr later! Had to stay in another location as the keys to the unit booked were not available at all. Once in the apartment, it was fine.

Checkin with a very slow response, had to call several times and contact expedia customer service before I had my access code.

Just gross

Just kind of gross. The shower leaked and almost flooded the room, the shower curtain was cheap and kept falling and we had to keep re-hanging it, the floor was just gross and never felt properly cleaned, the mattress didn’t have a fitted sheet and was covered with a standard sheet so I woke up multiple times throughout the night with my face was all over the gross bare mattress, the neighbors next door were so loud and wouldn’t stop screaming till 1-2 in the morning. Just kind of a crummy place to stay.

Property was dirty, smelled like cigarettes, not as shown on photos, shower door was broken, didnt get the WIFI password until the second day. Room was very hot! No fans. On a more positive note, the location is good; close to tram stop and coffee shop.

The furniture was all damaged and looked like it was picked up from the trash. The room was clean but it’s not an “apartment”- it’s a hotel room with none of the amenities.

You'll walk into the room and go, "Wow!", but not in a good way.

Considering the high prices in Zurich, this option is fair for travelers on a low budget, but just "acceptable". The room is very-very small, maybe not recomended for a long stay. Despite the smoking prohibition, there was a strong, deeply impregnated tabacoo odour which persisted through the whole lenght of my stay, i.e 17 days.

Affordable place

The place is well located but the flats are not well maintained. Also, the only agent I have met, an Indian worker, was extremely rude and arrogant. Sad that an individual could make put down a business by himself.

Check in was simple via self service as there's no front desk. The room was perfect for my two nights, clean and comfortable. Not too far from the HB, walkable (long) or about 10min bus ride.

The room was good . But there was no fan/AC provided when the temperature was above 25deg. And the room provided for me was facing the main road in ground floor where there was too much vehicle noice due to which I was not able to sleep peacefully.

Do not stay here. This is not a hotel. You are subletting someone’s apartment. There is no front desk or cleaning staff. The bed sheets were never changed for the 5 nights I stayed there. The tv was broken from day one and a person arrived to fix it on day four. If you have any issues you have to call an “emergency” number and hope for the best. The walls are paper thin. The person in the room next to mine played very loud death rap music all night every night. By the third night, emergency wouldn’t pick up, so I knocked on the door. Mistake. I was greeted by a group pair of menacing 3rd worlders who were smoking pot. The situation became tense and I was in fear for the rest of the trip.

Everything needed was there!

Pleasant room, quiet, very clean, close to public transportation, grocery stores, restaurants. Refrigerator. Comfortable room and private bathroom. Exactly everything one needs-no excesses, nothing missing.

The room was difficult to get into, the key didnt work right, I was told to be more forceful. The room was crawling with ants! There were people hanging out in the hallways at all hours. There were posted quiet times, but they were not followed. The thin walls allowed for you to hear everything. But there was a fridge and the shower had hot water.

Beware that this hotel is located close to an airport and therefore every half an hour you can hear the aeroplane fly by. The apartments are located in a convenient area, the service is all automated. Unfortunately, our room smelt and we could hear the neighbouring room as the walls are rather thin.

You need hours to get confirmation codes from them and a pin code to enter the room. So you need a phone and a internet access to upload documents. I didn't know and the booking agent didn't say, so wasted time and money. They didn't refund! the also have a missleading automated phone.

Awful experience.

An awful experience. No elevator, and I got a room in the 4th floor. Noisy location. The bed so narrow. Only one hanger in closet. Hardly any furniture. Called to complaint, response, we’ll get back to you. They never did. I even checked out 2 days earlier and moved out. The least they should do is issue a credit.

Apartment excellent! The washer & dryer was great to have available not to far from ALDIs. Convenient to metro & nice surrounding area. The comfort of this apt is excellent. Staff was accommodating! It was so clean and ample space...so enjoyed this type of accommodation 👍👍

Swiss Star apartment, Albisreiderplaz

Apartment is clean but shower can be bit small for large person. In hot summer days, room can be stuffy. Opening the windows for fresh will draw noise from busy main road. Location is good, close to Albisreiderplaz tram station. From their you can reach city centre in 10 minutes taking tram no 2 & 3. Apartment is close to two supermarkets, Migros and Coop. They opened late until 09:00 & 10:00 PM during weekdays and Saturday. For good bars and restaurants best to go old town in city. First impression of the main street around Albisreiderplaz looks dingy but safe.

It was fine for a budget hotel. I had expected a serviced apartment. it was a weekly serviced room. They could improve the explanation of how to get your key on arrival.

Inexpensive for a reason

This is NOT a hotel, it is an apartment building w/o reception. It was not clear at all. The 24h Hotline is only reachable during normal business hours. Once there, there's no way to access internet, the concierge, or any way to get into the "hotel room". It is a lock box system that you have to go through online BEFORE you get to the hotel!!! Otherwise okay & clean, very cheap. But also 6 miles from the train station, not 1 mile. Right by the tram, which runs frequently & has a place to buy tickets.

Great place for great price.

Great apartment, we got a suite with 2 rooms, including kitchen and bathroom. Rooms were clean, kitchen was fully equipped, it even had a washing machine and tumble dryer. Spacious and quiet, perfect stay for family with kids. Check in and check out were fairly simple if following the instructions. Even though no reception, staff was very attentive through the help phone line. We called late in the evening to report that the heating had stopped working, (out of hours), they send a technician within half hour and solved the problem. We are satisfied with the rooms and service. We would definitely stay again.

Don't plan on wifi-but cheap and easy

Booked in part because of free wifi it didn't work. Intact with the company didn't work to resolve it since they are not available on weekends. Couldn't get a text or code-wasted money to try but never succeeded, and trying to reach customer support was arrive ting and still unsuccessful. This is slightly better than a hostel, wouldn't recommend this place unless you just want a bed and shower and nothing else. Also a bit of a walk from the center with no attractions on the way. You will need your code prior to getting there as you get your room key from a box at the back of the building (this was easy), so obtain it prior to going to the hotel. Easy to get to and clean, but no air con or fan

Would probably be fine if you didn't visit in summer, I stayed in a day that it had been 28, there was no air con or fan, ended up sleeping on the floor with the door open but it was very noisy. Would be fine in winter

It is not an apartment, just a room

It is okay. The room was not bad. My disappoint was no kitchenette. Why did they call it apartment? Another disappointment was to get on WiFi, you have to have a cellphone which works in Switzerland. I had to knock on neighbor's door, used her cellphone to receive a code. It was a bother.

Good base to explore Zurich

Handy to tram stop, so easy to get around. A supermarket is also very close. Enjoyed my stay. Zurich is a great place to visit. Felt unable to rate staff as I had no dealings with them - check in at the key box was easy enough though.

Absolutely Terrible Experience

This hotel/apartment caused me to develop very itchy rashes over my body after the first night. I rarely have reactions like this. It was likely because of dust mites, insect replant, or strong chemicals used on the sheets. I stayed at the Swiss Star apartment chain before and had the exact same reaction. I stayed again because I wasn't sure it was the apartments. Now I'm positive it was. There is no reception desk and I was forced to leave after the first night. I had to make other arrangements that were more expensive and in an inconvenient location because they were very last minute. The hotel refuses to issue me a refund for 9 nights ($810) because it was a nonrefundable booking. I feel this is a clear exception to such a policy and I only stayed one very uncomfortable night. I called Hotels.com for help. Swiss Star took the same position with the Hotels.com representative. I highly recommend that no one stay at the Swiss Star apartment chain.

awful stay

the stay was really awful.we experienced troubles to find the appartment and the representative over the phone appeared very unpleasent and unhelpful and even hung up and disconected the conversation in the middle of night leaving us helpless complitely . the front door in the room was blocked and the key was very hard to opperate only due to assistence of neighbors.there was a lack of help complitely in the middle of night.the tv didn't work. we noticed our comlaint to the housekeeper in the morning.the stay doesn't worth payment.

Clean but hot

The hotel was clean but there is no reception. Area is not far from center of town and the tram stop is very close. Absolutely no air conditioning so I would not recommend this hotel unless it's winter.

It was really terrible without any staff at place. No one came for room cleaning.i couldn't connect the TV which was unplugged and found by another flat members who lived there for long time. The hotel was not was portrayed on the site. Smaller than a dog kennel and noisier than a football stadium. Booked & paid for 3 nights and stayed one and returned to Italy . Totally disappointing and I will not book through Expedia again .

Not bad if you manage to get in!

The first thing you will wish to note is that this isn’t a hotel! When you book expedia don’t tell you that when you arrive at this place, you won’t find a reception or any staff working there. When I arrived, I found that the front door was locked, so had to phone the number at the end of my booking, at my own cost using a UK phone, and was told to go round to the back of the property where I found a safe attached to the wall next to the rear entrance, and was provided with a pin by the lady on the phone to input into the keypad. This then released my key into the dropbox. If I didn’t have the confirmation with me, or have a phone that I could use, I would have been left stranded! So, please make sure you have your phone with you, and Expedia should really be providing you all this information once you have booked and before you depart! The room itself was pretty compact, the bed not overly comfortable, and the fridge in the room made a lot of noise, so I just unplugged it as I didn’t need to use it. There is a small TV in the room, but my remote was broken with buttons missing, so I had to change the channels on the tv itself , which was slightly annoying. The bedding wasn’t changed, nor the room cleaned in the 2 nights I was there!

This hotel is a great value. It's Spartan but has everything a single traveler needs at a price that keeps you out of hostels and the like.

Building work going on outside. Very loud from 7:00. Very hot in the room but if you open the window the noise from the street is too much, trams, cars....etc. The cleaners knock on the door from about 9:00 (check out is 11:00).

The hotel room itself was nice and clean, but getting into it was a bit of a struggle. On expedia they don't say anything about there not being a reception or anything. After we booked the room, the hotel sent us an email with a code and said to use the code to get the key. When we arrived at the hotel we had no idea where to put in this code, as they just said it would be next to the door. There was no one to ask, but eventually someone came by and told us its at the back door. There was no indication of that outside or in the email. Along with that, they said there was free wifi, which was true, but you needed a phone number for it. I was not traveling with a phone and even when i got access to a phone, it still didn't work. We had booked this place because we needed the wifi to book other hotels later and never got the wifi to work.

Good, basic accommodation

For an entry level price range, this hotel met or slightly exceeded my expectations. It was clean, quiet, and relatively spacious. The hotel was also very conveniently located on a main tram route, and near to various shops and restaurants. There is no reception, but the key-drop box system works very well. The only disappointment was the TV - I was only able to get two channels.

Perfect for a short stay!

Surprised at how clean and nice it was. Such a great price! Right next to a tram stop so you can really get anywhere very easily. Only thing was the room was really hot but other than that great place to stay on a budget.

Bad Comunication

I was there and my reservation was cancel without letting me know. I was there in Zurich in the front of apartment and could not find a live person to talk to regarding the keys at 7 pm without the phone or any communication tools. Apartmant is using some call agency and they are NOT capable to do anything and help you. It was very uncomfortable and bad situation .

Cheap confortable overnight but smelly room

With a last minute booking, price for double room was extremely cheap. Convenient communication with hotels.com as the hotel forgot to send me the Pin to get the key. Room was big, but smelly. Someone may have smoked. In addition, found a woman blond long hair on the blanket. Appears not to have been cleaned thoroughly. Overall for its price, was great and practical.

Algumas toalhas e roupas de cama não estavam bem limpas. O controle remoto e a chave estavam bem sujos. Para fazer o check-in foi horrível, porque eu apenas recebi o código e mais nenhuma informação ou orientação sobre onde pegar as chaves e o número do quarto. Cheguei tarde da noite e fiquei rodando até encontrar um hóspede para me mostrar que eu deveria ir atrás do prédio encontrar uma caixa na parede, onde eu deveria colocar o código. Também teve algum problema muito sério em um apartamento do meu andar. A polícia foi chamada e a porta ficou lacrada até o final da minha estadia. Bairro inseguro. Hall de entrada bem sujo também.

La entrada a los apartamentos estaba sucio. El ascensor solía estar ocupado siempre con cubos de limpieza. La habitación estaba sucia: polvo en todos los sitios, pelos en la cama. The room was dirty: dust everywhere, hair on the bed. The bathroom had no mirror, the shower curtain was half torn.

Simple efficace

I booked this room to stay two days in Zurich. To be honest it was very disappointing for me. There was no soap to wash hands or no shampoo or anything to get clean. Also the facility doesn’t have anything you can find in every facility like even a glass to drink water. If you just want to sleep and be outside whole day then yeah you can book but if you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy your trip then do not advice this facility.

Værelset var fint nok. Badeværelset var fin. Trækker ned, at der kun var et gennemsigtigt gardin for vinduet, så man kunne se ind i lejligheden fra lejlighederne på den anden side, og så lyset stod ind om morgenen. Ikke køkken, men køleskab.

I could not check in. It turned out that I should have received a form to get a code for self check in. Sadly, I learned about it too late. I did not receive the form and could not get any information from the hotel nor Expedia. It was the key information yet there was nothing said about it on Expedia. I read other people's review and almost everyone experienced the same problem. I have now lost confidence in Expedia's client support.

Cómodo pero caluroso

Unos días antes de llegar, he recibido un e-mail al cual (mi error) no presté atención, entonces al llegar ahí nos dimos cuenta de que no existe una recepción ni nadie que te ayude, y no teníamos internet ni señal para poder comunicarnos a los números pegados en la sección de noticias, gracias al cielo un chico que acababa de llegar nos ayudó y fue así como dimos con el mail para poder canjear el código por la llave en el buzón. Si hubiéramos visto el mail antes, nuestra experiencia hubiera sido mil veces mejor pero no fue así, en verdad creímos que ya nos habíamos quedado fuera. Nuestro cuarto tenía calefacción pero no importaba si estaba en lo más alto o en lo más bajo, hacía DEMASIADO calor y no existe manera de apagarlo, por lo que tuvimos que abrir la ventana para refrescar un poco el cuarto, claramente no es lo ideal pero no podías dormir del calor. No se hace limpieza, hasta el último día que te vas, que tiene que ser a las 11:00 un minuto más y ya tienes a alguien en tu puerta queriendo entrar a hacer el cuarto. No está cerca del centro pero hay transporte a unos cuantos pasos, muy fácil de usar aunque no conozcas para nada. Aún así si deseas que tu estancia sea privada, sin ruido y tranquila si recomiendo este lugar.

Etwas Geschirr und ein Heißwasserbereiter sollten eigentlich Standart für ein Apartmentzimmer sein. Flurlicht außerhalb defekt, Keybox schwierig zu finden. Ein Tipp: Der Kühlschrank würde besser funktionieren und weniger verbrauchen, wenn die warme Abluft herauskönnte! Hier fehlt ein Gitter! Im Großen und Ganzem war ich aber zufrieden.

Es soll ein Nichtraucher Zimmer sein und es riecht wie die Wohnung eines Penners. Ich fühle mich schmutzig wenn ich hier bin. Es riecht alt und abgeranzt. :(

Bon séjour dans l'ensemble sauf pour la dernière nuit ma voiture a été enlevée à la demande de l'hôtel.. emplacement parking nominatif réservé à l'hôtel.. non signalé lors de mon check-in .. après 2 nuits garées à cet même emplacement sans soucis la 3e nuit m'a coûté 650 chf pour la fourrière.

Un‘esperienza terribile! Dopo un lungo viaggio In auto siamo arrivati presso la struttura Apartments Swiss Star Badenerstrasse 362 Zürich, esausti dal viaggio volevamo effettuare il check-in , ed è qui che cominciano i problemi. Appena entrati nella struttura abbiamo notato altre persone nel totale panico perché non riuscivano ad effettuare il check-in in quando la struttura non dispone di una reception e non c’è nessuno per chiedere informazioni.Il check-in si effettua online ma il problema è che i cittadini dell’Unione Europea appena entrati in Svizzera rimangono senza linea Internet e telefonica . Quindi anche noi come gli altri ospiti ci siamo trovati in serie difficoltà per effettuare il check-in. A questo punto abbiamo deciso di uscire e comprare una scheda svizzera. Rientrati in hotel abbiamo effettuato il Check-in.Nel frattempo avevo lasciato la macchina in un parcheggio abbastanza distante .Avendo notato che nella parte posteriore della struttura c’erano dei parcheggi riservati con delle apposite placche con su scritto “reserviert apartment Swiss Star“ Ho pensato di usufruire del parcheggio per scaricare i bagagli dato che pioveva . A quel punto il tempo di portare la valigia in camera cinque minuti di orologio contati mi sono ritrovato il mezzo della rimozione chiamato proprio da quel qualcuno che in quel momento avrebbe dovuto tutelarmi in quanto ospite della sua struttura. Risultato 250 euro di viaggio a vuoto della rimozione. È chiaro che hanno molto da imparare

Hotel correcto con algunos bemoles

Hotel correcto y el precio que se paga (bien por debajo del promedio de la ciudad) es acorde a determinadas desprolijidades. Está bien porque está situado bastante céntrico y con transporte cercano, tanto para el casco antiguo como para las estaciones de tren. La cama es cómoda y la tv por cable es un plus. El Wifi es muy bueno. Fiel a la ciudad, es bastante tranquilo, aunque imagino que en verano será algo distinto. Por otro lado, en lo concerniente a las desprolijidades, el check-in está pautado para las 14hrs, pero hay una sola mujer de limpieza para todo el complejo, por lo que tuvimos que esperar que finalizara su tarea en nuestra habitación. Se olvidó de darnos las toallas de mano y luego las dejó ¡en el suelo! del lado de afuera de la puerta de la habitación, puesto que estábamos ya dentro. Sin embargo, tuvimos suerte que esta mujer estuviese allí ya que no teníamos los códigos del wifi, que están en un panel plastificado que se ve que no está en todas las habitaciones. Ella nos facilitó el de la habitación contigua. De lo contrario hay que llamar por teléfono, con los costos que eso implica. La habitación tenía olor, que no tenemos muy claro de donde provenía. También es cierto que para ir en meses cálidos se echa en falta algo de ventilación. Tuvimos suerte y nos dieron jabones y toallas, algo a lo que otros huéspedes habian dicho que no habían tenido acceso. La cocina que aparece en algunas fotos es para las habitaciones de 2 dormitorios únicamente.
