The hotel, the staff, restaurants and vibe are incredible, this is our second time in the property and we thought the first time was amazing but the second time exceeded our expectations.

It was an unforgettable 4 nights at the resort everything was outstanding .. but we had an issue with our villa, which is the bed it wasn’t flat it has an inward feeling to it .. it wasn’t comfortable.

Amazing location, beautiful views and very friendly, hospitable and hard-working staff Special shout out to Prince for taking care of us and other guests (If someone from the hotel is reading this, give him a raise and a promotion). Also thanks to the resident nurse for his help when we needed. The staff in charge of other activities were super-honest (they told us the weather might not be good for the boat ride, but it's our choice to do, not pushy at all). In order to make the review balanced here is a negative points: I didn't get he Expedia VIP's discount on food that I was supposed to get. To be fair, I also forgot to remind them when checking out and the amount is not much (Considering the price of food in Thailand), but Expedia just reminded me of that, so here it is.

Overall, we had a great stay at the Anantara. Staff showed dedication and passion. Shout-outs to Jimmy, Plathong, Fit and colleagues at the sea sports hut, and Tar at the Chang Club. Property was very well-maintained, and staff were ever-attentive. Only downside was the uncomfortable insistence that guests pay for pricey bottled water at the restaurants, when clearly, they were able to get free drinking water elsewhere on premises and in their room. Understandably, beverages help pad the margin, and every dollar is needed by F&B/hospitality in these challenging COVID times, but perhaps there would be a better way to approach that that sets guests more at ease and allows them more peace of mind and enjoyment of your beautiful hotel. Yoga at over USD130/session is frankly also excessive. I felt bad for the visiting yogi who was on site; our room was next to the beautiful pavilion used for yoga, but attendance was nil to 1-2 people max. Again, this calls to question the overall pricing of a la carte items. Might there be ways to mitigate the onsite sticker shock, so that guests can set their minds at ease and fully embrace their holidays rather than being forced to do the mental calisthenics of whether these add-ons were “worth splurging on”. A potentially restorative yoga session with an untested instructor should not be viewed as a splurge.

The property is beautiful and peaceful; if you are looking for a more quiet retreat in Phuket, this is the place! The private pool villa with great spacious rooms, stunning views, beautiful grounds, and pool areas; great housekeeping service, room amenities, etc. Incredible service: the staff at this hotel really goes above and beyond to make your stay super special; the breakfast buffet and their staff are just incredible. Amazing environment, the property is beautiful and peaceful. Employees do more than their job: they anticipate our needs, they are so kind. In all property’s areas, we felt care. The only less positive point has been that we were woke up each morning with the unpleasant sound of gardeners tools motors, much too soon in the morning (8AM).

Our stay at the property was an incredible experience. The private pool villa, housekeeping service, room amenities etc. were amazing and the property is right on the beach which made our stay memorable. You can enjoy the tide in and the tide out walk on the beach. Kayaking, paddle boarding and various other water sports are included. There is a complimentary shuttle to a nearby shopping area as well as local restos offer complimentary shuttles as well so you have lots of options around the resort. Definitely will return again.

Everything was super easy, all staff were super friendly. Buffet breakfast was incredible. Resort is located quite far from other sights and activities in Phuket.

Service level was extraordinaire and the Dee Plee restaurant was world class. Breakfast buffet was great. The service level of ALL employee was amazing. Nothing bad to say about anything

The food was amazing. No matter what we chose from the menus, the food was very well presented and tasted amazing. Even the breakfast buffet was exquisite and the food was prepared fresh and cooked to individual preference as opposed to just kept warm in regular heated trays. Bacon and eggs were garnished and came in little pans. The pool could have been deeper, larger and cleaner. It was a little gritty and 'slimy' in places. There is enough to do but the facilities are not that extensive for the size of the premises. It was a little dull and quiet by the pool and not as family friendly as described, in that the children's club room was a very small room and the pool had no floatables for children to play with. The staff were very warm and helpful. Wifi was no problem throughout the property.

The infinity pool overlooking the ocean was so beautiful and fun to use. we loved the ability to rent jet skis or canoes from the resort itself and enjoy right from the resort. The location is far but if you're going for a high end resort experience, then this is it. The breakfast is fantastic and worth five stars in itself. The staff is extremely friendly and takes cares of you.

Hotel service is so good, they remember everything you tell them. My boyfriend proposed to me here, it was amazing. Our pool villa was clean and beautiful, sadly the weather isn't amazing in July. Hotel is located quite far in at Layan Beach, it is far from everything else. Taxi rides would be expensive if you want to roam around Phuket. If you would like a chill and quiet holiday, this is perfect for you! Breakfast, lunch and dinner here is good (and pricey of course) :)

It was the best hotel we stayed in our life, we had a perfect honeymoon. Everything was clean, the staff was very professional and helpful. Every time we had a problem they helped us. We got a private pool resort. It was amazing. We could go swimming at any time. This hotel is right by the beach so the hotel and the view were amazing. Breakfast had plenty of choices but if you want to dine here for lunch/dinner it's a bit pricey.

Outstanding hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast buffet was the best we've ever experienced and we've been to many hotels all round the world. We were upgraded upon arrival and had courtesy bottle of bubbles and cake to celebrate 2 birthdays and an anniversary. We will be booking again real soon.

Staying at Anantara Layan Phuket Resort was a true pleasure. From the moment we arrived we were catered to with the highest standard of service. Very nice beach front location. If you want to stay somewhere more quiet and away from all of the tourist noise in Phuket this is your best bet. If you manage to catch the wonderful breakfast at the resort, be sure to ask for my friend Book. His service was excellent! He deserves a promotion! We also had excellent service at dinner and the food was delicious!

Adult romantic getaway

A very adult romantic getaway. Absolutely stunning, beautiful beach, activities and service. Food was delicious!

The rooms clean and nice. The breakfast and Thai restaurant superb. The cove / beach is quiet and majestic. I loved it. We went to Roaewood after and although Rosewood property itself is more elegant (over the top most beautiful ) the cove there is commercialized noisy and gross. anantara Layan was a gem. Best value too.

The shore line is really bad comparing to other beaches. Low tide makes you feel you don't have sea around at all. High tide - like usual river. Layan beach, which is 5 mins away by taxi, is better. Property itself is very good, rooms are great and clean.

Very clean and the food was amazing. The food is very expensive and so are the drinks, for example a can of Fanta is 120 Bhat but at a 7-11 it’s 14 Bhat I would say that is a pretty big mark up. The beach isn’t clean when the water pulls back when it’s low tide u see broken glass and other garbage in there. I know that is hard to control but I can be cleaned when water pulls back. We didn’t go into the ocean whole trip because of that.

Taxi transportation arranged by hotel is overcharged, hotel charge 800Baht per hour but the normal taxi hourly charge is only 400Baht

We had a great experience at this hotel. The service was great ie: housekeeping, wait staff, and some of the front desk helpers. My only complaint was that they were not willing to give us late check out after staying there for 4 days and spending a good amount of money staying at their property. Our flight was at 6pm and we had planned to leave the hotel around 3:30pm, but we were kicked out of our room at 12pm. For the extra hours to stay in the room they were asking for around $200. We passed and decided to just go to the airport which added to our already 29 hours of travel.

Not too far, but far enough - recommended

I stayed here for a 10 day break. It is a fabulous property, has a great Thai restaurant and good poolside casual dining. The spa is also fantastic. The property is between 40 minutes and an hour from the main tourist hubs, but this is part of its charm. Set in spacious grounds abutting a national park, it's a very different and much more restful Phuket experience. My pool villa was lovely, but there are various options. There are also two pools - the main one, and a much quieter one near the spa. It's not too far to go out for a night in Patong, Karon etc or to do boat activities out of Chalong - but far enough away to have a deserted beach and a very calm feel without the hustle and bustle or the tourist centres. Transport is easily arranged via reception, with an excellent local car service to take you wherever you want.

Fantastic Resort with excellent service!

This was our 2nd time staying at an Anantara resort - we returned because of the good hospitality we experienced in their Riverside Resort in Bangkok. Needless to say Anantara Layan went well above our expectations! Room We went with a Deluxe Pool Villa - which is basically a large size room with a king bed and an outdoor area with a plunge pool. The room also has an espresso machine, tea maker, large TV, Apple TV, Bose sound system etc. The pool area is spacious for 2 people and contains an outdoor bathtub, deck chairs etc Resort and facilities The resort is located on a lagoon offshoot of BangTao beach. There are various activities at the beach like paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing, water cycling, table tennis, volleyball - all complimentary. We went on long kayaking trips in the lagoon and it was very enjoyable. There are plenty of deck chairs and the staff are very prompt in making sure you have towels & cold water Dining Breakfast was wonderful with good variety and quality. Don't miss the complimentary sparkling wine at breakfast Pizza's at Breeze were quite good too - enough to satisfy mid-day hunger pangs Dee Plee (Thai restaurant) was fantastic - the quality of the food was incredible. We went there 3 times Service The staff was very helpful and friendly and seemed like they genuinely wanted us to have a good time. Special thanks to Po an Dao at reception, Gan at breakfast, Prince, Nook and Tee at the pool/beach area

Place is really very isolated and peaceful. Completely cut off from town at least 7km. Ideal as a retreat. Will need some form of transport to go out ( car / bike ). No convenience stores nearby. Property - beautiful landscaping. Good private beach. Room very comfortable, clean smelling, effective aircon, hot water, toiletries. However there isn't any electrical outlet at pool area (will be great for bluetooth speaker or laptop ).Staff is fantastic( Housekeeping, Gardeners, reataurant ) Full of smiles from everyone. Breakfast spread - good selection of quality foods ( cheeses, smoked fish, meats ). Only regret my room did not catch the sun well for the private pool.

Impeccable Service. Warm & Friendly Staff !!

Amazing property offering genuine Thai hospitality whom never fail to impress with their attention to details. Every staff we engaged with from reception to housekeeping, beach bar attendant were pleasant, special mention to Gan and his team (and many more at Sala Layan) that we didn't managed to know their name. We were treated with warm genuine smiles and very well looked after every time we dine there throughout our stay. Its lavish breakfast spread serves champagne, is one the best and well thought with many varieties of organic and healthy choices. Not forgetting, their Thai food is a must try as well. You will not be disappointed. Oh.. and love their signature scent of Jasmine in its toiletries and welcome essential oil.

5-Star experience from start to finish. Entire resort is absolutely stunning and our experience was unforgettable. Staff is incredible and goes above and beyond to accommodate anything you need (day trips, local transportation, etc). On-site restaurants were absolutely delicious with fantastic food and service. Breakfast was unlike anything we'd experienced at any other resort - beautiful presentation and delicious. Our pool villa was wonderfully appointed with incredible attention to detail. Can't say enough nice things about the staff - some of the friendliest people we met in Thailand, and they clearly strive to give you an over-the-top 5-star experience.

Incredible Honeymoon. Thank you to all the staff at Anantara for an incredible stay. Ann at the tiki bar, Su and check in and Yui at the spa! My husband and I felt like we were at heaven on earth. Great food, great beach and loved using the kayaks and stand up paddle boards. Perfect!

Safe and Very large resort

Anantara is very large resort with option of three restaurants. Thai, Mediterranean and bar/american. Small rooms are definitely small but do the job. Maids need a little more training on cleaning rooms, specially the floors. Besides that it was a great room. Staff is friendly but some work harder than others.

Lovely private beach at the resort itself. Layan is far away from everything else so just spend your time at the beach and resort. Food is expensive at the resort but exquisite quality and service. Pray that it doesn't rain during your stay.

Staffs excellent, food and pool disappointing

We were very impressed by the overview of the resort, Room was great, service was excellent. We were expecting a little bit more but was quite disappointed, the pool was not impressive and poorly maintained. Food was only average. The Thai restaurant was a disappointment, the food did not turn up as good as it was in the write out that we have read. Would not be a choice of resort for a return trip.
