The resort was amazing and the staff was very friendly!
Property is really nice and all staff is excellent friendly and very nice people.
I loved the bicycles outside of my door for daily use. When I didn't want to ride, I loved the option to call for a ride.
I like the staff very friendly the property is average, I have been to 2 other resorts but this resort the extra activities are very expensive compare to other Resorts.
Very poor levels of cleanliness. Staff unresponsive.
Anantara is an excellent property to stay in. It is reached by a speedboat from Male airport (with a reception service extremely well managed at the airport). The resort has extremely friendly staff, except for one gentleman at the Front desk who took a fat tip but proceeded to be unnaturally unhelpful after. I would point out the following really courteous staff Xavier - coconut milk seller at the resort Nang, Gard (Supachai) and Tippu at the Thai restaurant Rekha, Aree, Yulia at the spa Brij - Ayurvedic masseur at the spa Fan and Kaew - at the spa Muzzah, Raja, Oma, Prashan, Nagarajan (great cook) and Deepal at the Fushi and ice cream spots Manik at Cumin restaurant All these went above and beyond in being courteous, welcoming and friendly. We had a great time.
The staff was very friendly and took great care of us. Treated us with royalty and the food was also amazing.
Excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff. Some islands with high rise buildings on surrounding islands are a bit of an eyesore but you get used to them quickly
No amenities but good surprise
Surprisingly, Anantara did not provide amenities by default in the bathroom! We had to ask for tooth brushes and vanity kits! However, they surprised us with my wife’s birthday with a beautiful setup, sparkling wine and cake.
Just love this resort. Green and peaceful.
Perfect hotel for a family vacation
Amazing resort with 5 star service and hospitality. Everyone was very friendly and promptly catered to our needs and questions. Food was delicious with multiple restaurants to choose from and both breakfast and dinner buffets had a different theme/cuisine every day. Ocean was warm and calm with beautiful views and sunsets. Huge territory so great for walking and exercising and has a sister island you can also visit for dinners.
Amazing hospitality
Beautiful and well kept property with friendly staff.
Amazing resort for the family. Spacious and big enough to spend quality few days. Good selection of activities as well as restaurants. Outstanding service with very helpful and supportive staff.
Great resort
Great resort with many activities, the only issue is the bicycles, I believe they should have couple of bicycles dedicated for each villa.
Good stay, but I expected more for $1350 a night
It was a good stay, but for the price paid, I expected a little more. The internet was really bad - could barely check email, especially in the evenings. We had a 9pm flight, but the resort couldn't offer us late checkout. The room they first gave us, had construction noise from next door. They moved us, but after we spent 1 whole day listening to construction noise. Otherwise it was great. The property is beautiful. The service is excellent. Shout out to "Raja Khan" who helped us move our room and taught us cool photography tricks. Also Fayaz at the restaurants was very helpful. Also a special shout out to the resort Doctor, who was very helpful when I complained of fever (he came and checked me, brought all the medicines I needed, and did a follow up on his own). This was our second visit to Anantara Dhigu. It is a beautiful property. We would definitely visit again.
Paradise Island
From check in till check out, we were completely amazed. This place was recommended by a friend and I could see why. Friendly and amazing staff. Room was superb. Nice island resort where you can just lay down on the different beaches and enjoy the sun or do any watersport activities of your liking. During low tide, we could even walk to the picnic island. Such a different experience walking on the sand bank. And the food, we really enjoyed the breakfast and dinner buffets at the many restaurants available. Will definitely come again and would recommend this place for couples and families alike.
Beautiful Resort with Exceptional Service
From the moment we arrived at the airport, having the airport lounge is very impressive considering it is only among the handful of resorts who has this facility. The resort is very beautiful and all the staff we met were very friendly, from the front desk to the restaurant staff and also all the other staff working tirelessly around the island. The over water villa we stayed in is very spacious and well designed with good space for the outdoor deck and a gorgeous tub in the restroom. Only thing I feel missing is the lack of thriving marine life in and around the water villas as it is build over sandy bed with the nearest reef quite a distance away. Though no fault of the resort, its a tad disappointing for me.
Kids Friedly hotel!
We enjoyed the crystal clear blue sky and loved what the hotel offered for the kids such as free kids meal and they did the extra beds for both our 6 and 9 years old kid. We found that they did not offer enough snorkeling equipments and bikes were not in a good condition and very hard to find. My kid got upset she wanted to ride bikes. The front desk staff were not so attentive and when I asked information, seemed not to know much. Like I asked if we could swim on the picnic island as we didn’t want to waste time going there and found out we could not swim because it was dangerous. The staff said it was alright to swim. I went there and there was a red flag saying you absolutely can’t swim. The food in the Japanese and Thai restaurants were good. The aqua bar restaurant food was disappointing. The cleanliness of the room was very good. The room boy came to clean our room twice a day and filled us with plenty of drinking water.
resort getaway, stunning villa views.
wow-- the view, the lagoon, the room, the food, the ambiance, the amenities and then... its MALDIVES.
Perfect...
Very nice Resort -if a bit pricey
Amazing resort - paradise on earth. Very beautiful setting, totally worth the money. I recommend you spend extra to get the sunset overwater suite. There is about a 100m of sea that is waist-deep in front of these suites. Highly comfortable and enjoyable stay.
we will visit Maldives again, but another resort.
beautiful sea and beach, we love the place. Services was 3-4star, we expect better service in such cost. no buggy transfer in windy and rainy days so the we are expected to walk under strong wind and rain from our room to restaurants which takes about 10min. even in sunny days, they dont hv enough buggy. staff asked me to ride bicycles but im not good at it and didnt want to ride it on an over water bridge. not enough activities in the resort in rainy days. Butler didnt tell us water activity that we have booked was cancelled and didnt let us know alternative options in rainy days. We have to find out by ourselves. Food was ok for survival, we found better restaurants in Veli.
It was very nice, staff were great ... very clean and very caretaking resort ...
Absolute Spoiled Paradise!
Maldives is a beautiful place to Experience! And this Resort gives you a perfect chance to fall in love with these Islands. Beautiful water, shallow to walk and swim in from your bungalow and swim the resort to wherever you want to go through out the resort. Resturants to enjoy, Private dinners on the beach if you like. Great Spa!! Fun hammock and swings to swim out to. Excursions to enjoy. Great infinity pool to swim in as well.
Clean room, great customer service
Breathtaking scenery, comfortable and very relaxing. Good location, spacious and clean room. Exceptional service. Highly recommended
Gorgeous Location, Bring Wallet
Anantara Dhigu is on a stunningly beautiful atoll, with picture perfect beaches and outstanding service. The rooms are beautiful and tastefully designed. We really enjoyed walking out to our personal beach chairs in the morning to watch the sun come up over the lagoon. The resort has a myriad of water-based activities to enjoy, in addition to the amazing spa, where you can watch fish meander by in the cut-out floor while receiving a massage. My only issue were the onsite costs. We understand this is a posh resort with prices to match but we wish there were food and drink packages available, and that the costs of picking us up from the airport / dropping us off were included in the room rates. I would highly recommend this resort. Would love to return one day!
Beautiful over water Villa in paradise!
We just got back from 12 nights at Anantara Dhigu Maldives. Our overall experience was pleasant. How can you not be when in Maldives? This place is amazing, paradise, a dream come true. We arrived at MALE and was greeted by Anantara staff where we were sent to their waiting area with AC. They gave us drinks and waited for some other guests to arrive before we take off on the speedboat. Prior to Arriving we thought they meant a little speedboat enough for 2-4 people but the speedboat was big enough for about 15. It was a comfy 30 minutes ride to the resort. They dropped some guests off to the Veli (adult) side first where they were greeted with their staffs and music welcoming them. However when we got dropped off to Dhigu, we were greeted by staffs too but somehow we didn't get the music treatment. No big deal. For the rest of our stay we saw they welcomed every guests with music so not sure why we were missed. Check in was a bit slow. I think close to 45mins or so. We checked in to our Sunrise over water suite and within 15 minutes realized we wanted the suite with the pool. So we called front desk and asked for that upgrade. Of course there is a fee. It was well worth the money for the Sunset side with the pool. Our villa was big and spacious, clean, with the tub looking out the floor to ceiling windows. Georgeous! We won't get into the little details but overall was good! I will review this on trip advisor since Expedia has a limit of how much I can write
Great hotel for honeymooners
We stayed here for five nights during our honeymoon trip. The resort is very beautiful and well maintained. Really fell in love with the over water bungalows. If you plan on staying here I would highly recommend staying inside the sunset overwater bungalow for the best experience. All others are just so so and probably not worth it in my opinion. The amenities are great and lots of things to do here. Unfortunately the staff here are not always on the same page as you and can be too ridged and rude. Too many strict rules and regulations for my taste. You are on vacation not a communist camp so let go and live a little.
Nothing less than sublime
Simply incredible....
Slice of paradise- a little hidden gem.
My trip to the Maldives was wonderful; from being greeted at the airport to leaving on the jet boat. The staff were wonderful, attentive, and very generous towards me. I stayed in the sunset villa and loved every minute.note, be careful of the stairs leading into the water. I slipped in my first 10 minutes of arriving at my room. I found the breakfast very comprehensive, everything from English, continental,Arabic, oriental, and Maldivian. room service was pricey as was alcohol. The cheapest wine bottle around $60usd ++ when ordered for room service. At the bar my cocktail was $18. Overall despite the food and beverage costs it was still wonderful. The hotel is well maintained, staff well trained, view wonderful. My followers on Instagram were in awe and many wanted to know about this gem of an island I discovered. I made good memories here and would recommend this place to friends.
Heaven on Earth
This is by far one of the most exclusive resorts my family and I have been to. The location is excellent and the staff is friendly and remembers personal preferences quickly! It was paradise!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this resort!
It was such an amazing holiday and stay at this resort as the staff are super helpful in terms of arranging our pick up and transfer. Everything went really smooth and the whole trip was relaxing. The food is great and with many varieties, love the spa and actually within the 2 nights of stay, we had 2 times visit of the spa. I will definitely recommend this hotel to couples or family as it is totally worth it! We will come back very soon :)
The true meaning of paradise
words do not describe how amazing this place is only your presence will allow you to interpret the true meaning
fabulous hotel and very sweet and kind service
Best holiday ever
Absolutely amazing place - crystal clear waters that you can comfortably stand in accessible directly from our overwater bungalow. Staff were incredibly attentive during our stay and did everything to make our stay unforgettable. We can't wait to go back!
Fabulous
It was great to have a 5 nights stay at anantara cluster hotels and resorts. Everything was greattttt
Amazing Holiday
An amazing resort and everything it was advertised as and more. The service was the best we have experienced with special attention to detail down to the farewell message on our breakfast table.
Great hotel for couples
Great view on Sunset over Water Suite!!!! It is worth the extra price.
Pleasant surprise upgrade
We had a booked a Sunset overwater bungalow at Dighu, and when we arrived we were informed, due to technical difficulties we had been upgraded to Veli Island and a Sunset overwater with our own pool. We could not fault one thing from this experience. The food, accommodation, atmosphere and especially the staff made us feel like we were the only ones on the island. We would go back in a heartbeat and highly recommend this Anantara resort to everyone!
Amazing resort
It was simply paradise! Amazing place, exceptional service and great attention to detail by the staff!!! Made our honeymoon a memorable one! Will definitely go back!
Excellent if you like water activities and a peaceful setting. Very expensive but worth visiting!
Beautiful Anantara!!!
Beautiful hotel, super friendly staff, beautiful islands, food and drinks are very expensive; getting the meal plan is recommended. Check out the baby sharks at the snorkelling island.
Best Honeymoon Place
Ok so... booking an expensive trip online is a bit scary as you can only hope everything will look nice and similar to the pictures. Well the resort and island really were better than we could have ever expected or imagined! After 6 days and 5 nights there, we are beyond amazed with our trip. We had an overwater sunset suite. LOVED IT! So spacious, the bathroom is amazing, and that deck.... We were on Dhigu. We know Veli was for couples only but we visited it for a short while & I would still recommend Dhigu. Staff is AMAZING! Everyone is genuinely friendly and wants to make sure you have a great stay. You can snorkeling equipment (complimentary) for your stay & two hours of kayak a day (complimentary). The infinity pool & hammock over the water will definitely give you pictures everyone will be jealous of! The only downside is the food. Breakfast (buffet style) is included and really great! But for dinner, the few places are very pricey but do not really deliver good quality. Oh, one more thing. When we were there the resort was 97% full BUT it felt like we were alone all the time. Such a good management of the resort & hotel, this was very much appreciated. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend Anantara Dhigu to anyone and will be sure to visit other resorts they have around the world. Thank you to all the staff for their amazing service and for making our honeymoon absolutely perfect!
Nice hotel with access to sister hotels
Relaxing, romantic and beautiful over water villa hotel.
A special getaway
lovely staff ...gave personal attention..good place to stay and for fun activities.
nice view
The resort is very pretty and it has breath taking view toward the clear turquoise water, however, I found it too expensive for dinning and having drinks over there. Also, the sofa bed (2nd) that they provide in the room is little uncomfortable to sleep when you are with family and or friends.
Balancing Privacy with Variety
My husband and I had a wonderful honeymoon at Anantara Dhigu. The lagoon has three of Anantara's islands: Dhigu, Naladhu and Veli. Dhigu was supposed to be more family friendly, Naladhu had the 19 private villas, and Veli was supposed to be more romantic. We considered Veli but decided to go with Dhigu because the shots of the beach and water from google earth and traveller's reviews looked better and we were very happy with our choice! We stayed in a Sunrise Overwater Villa which was situated on shallow, clear, coral free waters (imagine long stretches of pure, untouched white sand glistening in the clear blue waters). It rained two out of the five days we were there but we snuggled in bed with DVDs and went for a couple of quick swims when it was drizzling. The sunny days were amazing! Because the Anantara group had three islands in the lagoon, we had 6 different restaurants to choose from as dining options. Hubby and I love variety and would be completely bored of eating the same stuff everyday (which would be the case if you went to one of the resorts where it was a one-island-one-resort kinda deal and you only had one, maybe two restaurant choices). We had thai food, teppanyaki (came with a great performance), grilled lobster and australian steak, italian homemade pastas with maldivian spiny lobsters... it was amazing! Our love also to one of the staff, the "Korean Rajah" who made our trip very memorable.
Great experience in the Maldives. This was our 3rd trip to the area first time at this resort. We brought our kids 8 and 12. They had a great time. The staff and hotel fit our needs perfectly. Could not ask for more.
Food quality - top concern for this good resort
Food - needs a lot of improvement , given the price you pay. Not to the standards of other resorts where I have stayed. Service - is ok, but at times I felt it as artificial. Has an excellent SPA. Good location, and good lagoon.
The perfect family vacation resort
Dhigu was perfect for our family vacation! We enjoyed the food, the service, and the beauty! We will definitely be returning!
High quality large resort at a price!
Thoroughly enjoyable 7 night stay at Dhigu, in a sunset over water villa. The accommodation and service are both excellent. The selection of food offered is good, the menu's however are limited and the cost is prohibitive....89 US dollar subject to plus plus per head for an average themed international buffet is laughable! The house reef is good if somewhat sparse and snorkelling isn't the big draw I expected to find here. All in all a high class resort with a more international rather than Maldivian flavour. I will try another island next time.
Family 4 nights stay at Anantara Dhigu
Pros: excellent for kids, high speed internet, variety of restaurants, nice pool, Nice play Area, Excellent Hotel management team Cons: room is smelly, TV signal not clear, internet access point was often disconnected
Great Hotel and Great Views
Wonderful hotel
Perfect vacation spot
We spent 10 days on Dhigu. It was just marvelous. Location - we picked a sunset beachfront villa. Overwater villas seem to us as less convenient due to corals during low tide. Villa - spacious and well secluded by trees and bushes from others. Nice access to beach. Beach and sea - almost empty which was surprising as the lagoon was calm and clean. Food - fairly expensive but delicious. Had to reduce the intake after 2 days... Staff - very helpful.
Really Good Hotel
Service was really good, all staff were extremely friendly all the time. I stayed in the over-water suite, really large and spacious. Food was really good. Range of activities to do were really good. Water sports center was also really good. However, you need to make sure to book any activities you would like to do ahead of time. A really good family hotel for a nice getaway in the Maldives.
Honeymoon in Paradise
My wife and I stayed 6 nights to celebrate our honeymoon. We had an outstanding stay from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly, and helpful throughout. The location, and set up of the rooms is amazing. We could not have found a more perfect place for our honeymoon.
Excellent for honeymooners
Over the water suites are.amazing, beautiful view to the sea (just a few steps from your bed). Diving, water sports are some of the options for the visitors. A 3-5 days stay is enough to cover everything. Staff is really good and friendly. The prices for everything is really high (everything is over priced 2 or 3 times). Food is really normal, need a real improvement in the variety and flavors (specially Terrazo and Aqua bar). Dont forget to pack your water proof camera!!!.
Great location/resort but often bad service
Great location, beautiful scenery but hit and miss service. The standout exception being the Thai staff at the Thai restaurant and the kids club staff who are really good. Shame the bar staff were not up to scratch ( refusing to get drinks when they had other chores they thought were more important, like cutting up fruit for later; not knowing how to pour a glass of champagne or refusing to open a new bottle because they had one opened the day before - helpful tip, at $42 a glass I would like a fresh glass please). There were many awkward exchanges of this sort. The dive centre helpers were similarly unhelpful and could not help plan anything; we were unable to do various trips because they clashed with others but even finding out what was on and when proved to be trying. We could not ascertain what the time tables were to plan and they could not help us. We found the staff on the fishing trip to be extremely rude and dismissive and they allowed small fish to be kept which should have been put back. They left these gasping in a waterless bucket to die ( we asked if they could please not do this and either kill and ice them for eating or at least put them in water until later) . When we arrived back they asked if we wanted one of the tiny ones since it seems those catching it didn't want to eat it after all. A stupid cruel waste.
great relaxing vacatio
Our stay was a pecial one to be remembered for a long time. We upgraded our room to a villa looking at the indian ocean with a private swimmimg pool and a butler at our disposal 24 hours a day. It was a very comfortable stay, a bit too expensive especialoly tho food, but it was really nice, full of activities like fishing, diving, dolphin watch trip and jet skeying. The only thing is the weather, it is a bit warm and humid but if you are planning on swimmimg all the time then you should not worry about it.
Surreally gorgeous!
The most beautiful location I have had the pleasure experience, some of the best service I have encountered. I have been to over 30 countries in my life and countless hotels, this one one of the best experiences.
unforgettable experience
I was staying in Anantara Dhigu for 5 nights and really enjoyed my stay. The hotel rooms were as beautiful as what I saw on the picture. All the staff were well trained and serviced was excellent. The aquatic centre make it convenient to do many kinds of water activities. It gave me excellent experience.
Worth Going
I had a great stay. The staff were helpful and attentive, the room was comfortable, the island was beautiful and the beach was perfect. The dive centre staff were especially good, and the diving was spectactular. Note that this is NOT what you might consider a "party resort". I found it quiet and restful, with mostly couples and families.
Very nice & relaxing vacation
Relaxing environment , family friendly hotel, discrete service, very nice spa
Not impressed by management...no quality control
- Pickup from airport delayed 2 hrs - Room not ready on arrival (3pm), and bags not delivered to temporary room for freshing up. - Upgraded to a water room but after first night moved to another room, from sunset view (requested) to sunrise. - Pool staff did not perform 5star service...brought menus and ignored you after that. - room charges were incorrect on checkout day and took some time to remove (they belonged to previous guests) - aquatic center was the only good experience and the restaurant in the Veli island.
Anantar Dhigu
Excellent experience from facilities to scenice beauty.
A must do holiday
if you fancy some time off from lifes hectic pace then look no further than the Maldives. One whole week was spent reading, snorkelling and fine dining! The accomodation is five star and well maintained. The islanders are very helpful and there are plenty of things to do if you can't cope with the idea of total relaxation. Prices reflect the geographical location and exclusivity of the island. Check in and check out was trouble free and most of the staff speak english.
Fraud hotel no one pick me up in the airport
If you come to the Maldives with fantasies about the place, you might be a little disappointed. But it's not enough to keep me from giving it 5 stars, I just don't have enough money to realize the Maldives of my imagination. For me, it was the best
Superbe resort dans un lieu magique
Signature des Maldives assurée.
Séjour toujours fantastique aux Maldives! Rien à dire à part que tout était parfait, ca vaut le prix!
Incrível
Lugar hermoso, hotel no tanto
Muy bien la zona o ubicación del hotel es espectacular, lo unico malo es que los cuartos ya estan medio viejos el mobiliario es feo e igual el de la zona de la alberca
