Great place
Quiet, friendly, unique
The location with the view of the water is very relaxing. The little details like the heating rack for the towel are a nice touch. I would stay here again.
Great hotel in Puerto Natales
The hotel was an interesting design built into a hill side and very ecofriendly. The room was large and comfortable with a great view of the water. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Beautiful view
I really enjoyed my stay at Altiplanico Hotel. The view from our room overlooking the sound and mountains was stunning. The staff were courteous and attentive, and the room was impeccably clean, which made for a comfortable experience. The hotel is about a thirty-five minute walk into town, but there are also taxi and Uber options available for those who prefer not to walk. Overall, I would certainly consider staying here again in the future.
Nice & modern hotel with good views and avg breakfast.
Beautiful hotel. Excellent views from the rooms.
Great 5 Day Stay
We stayed here for 5 days during our visit to Puerto Natales and absolutely loved it. The staff were all great, the food delicious, amazing views and great location. Very relaxing setting a close drive or 30 minute walk from town. Would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful place, great location, quiet and great staff.
Can’t say enough good things about this property. I would stay here over and over again!
We had an excellent stay for 4 nights. The staff were wonderful, very informative front desk and great service at the bar and restaurant. We ate most nights here and had very good food. The place had a very homey feel, not overly large at all. The breakfast was very good and available as early as 6 am, which helped us as we had excursions planned that picked is up by 645 am. I'd return to this hotel again without hesitation.
Absolutely loved this hotel! It was the perfect cozy stay for 3 of us girls traveling to Patagonia! The heated floors in the bathroom were a nice feature. The staff and front desk are so welcoming and go above and beyond for the guests. The restaurant had great food and even offered room service for the long days after we hiked. Overall loved this hotel and would highly recommend!
Very unique, perfect for the location. Service and food were great.
Had an excellent stay here! The rooms were fantastic and with such a great feel and view. Heated floors in bathroom were wonderful! Breakfast was excellent- only issue was that WiFi was not working in the rooms. But with such wonderful views we didn’t mind too much.
We enjoyed 2 nights at Altiplanico prior to our trip to Torres del Paine. The room was great, including a view of the sound, with heated bathroom floors and towel rack. Restaurant food was excellent, both for breakfast and dinner. A short but scenic walk to downtown Puerto Natales along the water. Highly recommended!
Beautiful location and great architectural design.
I loved the feel and the look of Altiplanico. The heat was perfect, the areas spacious and calming. Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Dining/bar staff were very personable. A couple of things could have been smoother: our maid service was uneven, and it was inconvenient to have to make a reservation just for dessert. Overall, Altiplanico is lovely and restful.
Very scenic and clean property. I particularly appreciated the heated tiles in the bathroom. Good tea selection as well. It would have been even nicer if the breakfast buffet was refilled more promptly but that's a nitpick. I'd recommend this place.
The property is unique in its construction and has great views of the sunset over the fjord. The staff was helpful in recommending restaurants and helping with booking taxi's. They were also extremely helpful in assisting me with an issue I had with my phone- completely unrelated to any job description I'm sure. The restaurant did struggle to honor our reservation on the first evening. We waited 40 minutes for a table.
Very cool unique minimalistic yet functional interior design, room is big with excellent views, very cool architectural and eco-friendly style. Towel heaters!! Stood out among all the hotels I have ever been to all ever the world.
Nice eco friendly hotel. Spacious rooms and welcoming & friendly staff. Heated bathroom tiles are a nice touch.
Great breakfast and pizza is superb. Very unique to allow all rooms to have a view
This was the perfect place to end our trip after a 5 day trek. We especially loved the heated floors in the bathroom and the decor. The reception and staff were very accommodating helping us with laundry, directions to a massage spa, and ordering us a taxi! We also loved our dinner during our stay overlooking the lake! 10/10 experience, we wish we had more time here!
Hotel Altiplanoco March 2023
Great Hotel, a couple of issues, most important the walls between the rooms are thin and you can hear your neighbors talking. Thankfully everyone was very nice and we had no loud neighbors. There is no wifi in the rooms. They explained it was not possible due to the construction of the hotel. They didn’t tell us we needed reset for dinner. It is a bit out of town and the cab ride is $7 each way. Taxis are easy to get and reliable. Overall we liked the hotel and really appreciated the service from the front desk staff.
Terrible
The whole experience was horrible, room dirty, extremely hot, no tv, no internet, someone watched us taking a shower from outside when the window open, we left after the first night. Horrible experience
Staff is amazing Very welcoming
This property was good. Very unhappy with Expedia. Will never use it again and will recommend to other people not to use Expedia
Fantastic hotel and amazing food
This hotel was fantastic. The restaurant chef was absolutely amazing!!! Would definitely stay again.
Nice employees, unique place.
I would say the view from the hotel is just magical, it’s like being in a place in my dreams. Food and presentation were fantastic. Staff are the nicest people; Ms Ari at the front desk was very helpful and so is Caroline and the their restaurant staff were the best people. Every single one of them.they made my experience a magical one! Thank you Altiplanico Hotel. I will surely go back with friends next time!! Highly recommended hotel!
Great hotel
This place is great . Staff is really nice and so caring and helpful .
Altiplanico - Simple, Unique, and Beautiful.
The property is lovely. The staff is gracious and attentive. The food and accommodations were excellent. This property blends simplicity, beauty, and an appreciation for the surrounding environment. It's lovely to participate in an environment that honors NATURE and the PEOPLE who visit this place. Well done.
Amazing view to the sea and mountains from your room. Original architecture design, different levels, with stones and woods. Eco friendship. It was not easy to find the building for drivers.
Beautiful property with nice views and unique architecture. Comfortable rooms. Convenient location near Puerto Natales. Hot tub closed with no explanation.
Comfy cabin feel
Rooms are basic but extremely comfortable, particularly the bathrooms which have heated floors and excellent showers. View from the room is incredible, a rare view I'd be willing to pay extra for. The main downsides are that it's a bit expensive, and that the Wi-Fi in the rooms stinks (it's fine in the lobby).
Fantastic people, room, and food
This place was great! The room exceeded my expectation and was much better than what we had in Punta Arenas. We loved it so much we booked another night. I left my phone in the taxi on the way to Torres del Paine and Jessica was able to track it down and hold it for me during my week of backpacking, I was so happy to come back and have it waiting for me! The breakfast here is really good too!
Sweeping views and comfy lodging.
This place is awesome! It’s a warm and cozy hotel with great views from every room including dining room and bar. The front desk staff is very helpful. Especially Isabel. It’s a 5 min taxi ride to downtown but the hotels in downtown don’t have the views. The restaurant has great food so some nights I just stayed there for dinner.
Great views of the fjords from all the rooms, lobby and dining area. Friendly and welcoming staff. Though it is not in the city, it is a perfect location for anyone needing a calm, clean and eco-friendly place to stay while in Puerto Natales. Highly recommend.
This hotel is gorgeous. I cannot recommend it enough.
Everything was a perfection... 5 Stars..
Hotel altiplanico was the perfect place for us while visiting Patagonia. It gives you both the rustic feel of being in a remote location but the exceptional service of a world class resort. The views from the rooms are incredible, the beds are very comfortable, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant and was very helpful. The location is about a 30 minute walk or short taxi ride from the center of Puerto Natales, but the food in the restaurant was some of the best we had here and Nelson was fantastic! The coastal views make the walk to town worth it if you venture in, but centrally located by the airport, Torres del Paine, and Puerto Natales. Last but not least, we loved the heated bathroom floors and towel racks - The best long hot shower there is after a day of hiking in Torres del Paine. When I am back in Patagonia, I would definitely stay here again!
Fantastic hotel in a stunning location
I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The scenery from the rooms is amazing. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious. The hotel staff were universally helpful and courteous.
Excelente, confortable y al restaurant mis felicitaciones!!!
Fantastic Hotel
Great experience! The staff (especially the front desk) are so helpful. The restaurant is amazing! The lamb was the best I had the whole trip. The rooms are new and clean. The hot tub could be hotter and a little dirty but still fine. It’s a short distance from town but not far and cabs are called from the front desk and get there quickly.
Amazing!

Clean rooms. Extremely helpful staff! Luggage storage was great!
The hospitality of staff were unparalleled. The server was full of information and so kind giving the best recommendations as far as food choices to hikes. The food for both dinner and breakfast was some of the freshest and most delicious on the trip. The rooms were very comfortable with excellent views and loved how local culture was implemented. Highly recommend!
This property is beautiful, the staff is lovely and I like that it is about 1 Mile from downtown. The walk to town is beautiful. We did not eat at the hotel, but it looked amazing. The WiFi doesn’t really work except in the lobby, which was disappointing.
Solid choice in Puerto Natales
The Altiplanico is a great choice if you stay at Puerto Natales. The staff is incredibly nice and always there to provide good service and help when needed. The dinner food was pretty good as well. The rooms were cool overlooking the water. Very centric location. Only downfalls would be WiFi is super spotty. Doesn’t really work in the rooms. Also, they only have the bar/food available for breakfast or after 5:30pm. So you can’t really get a drink or any snacks before 5:30 which is inconvenient. Additionally, the bathroom sink faucet is super low very close to the sink so it’s hard to wash yours hands, face etc (that’s more of a design critique). Other than that the decor of the hotel is super cool and nice and I would totally go back and stay there
I LOVED this place!! The service was outstanding and the architecture was unique. Would highly recommend.
Charming and relaxing
A charming and relaxing place with an excellent service from a great staff!
Great Stay, Great Food
Had low expectations of food but was honestly amazing. Great vibe if you like Scandanavian and minimal. Sitting in the hot tub with the view is amazing as well as the view in the restaurant.
We loved our stay at the Altiplanico Puerto Natales hotel. We were there for two nights and loved the ambiance and hospitality of the staff. We enjoyed their breakfasts and had a great dinner there as well. We would definitely return.
Checked in Christmas day, after long stretch hiking and fully exhausted. Very friendly and helpful staff, helped us settle in and rest. Food in the restaurant was excellent.
Fantastic hotel. Perfect base for Torres del Paine
I'd struggle to rate this hotel more highly. The rooms are very comfortable, all with beautiful views and each room feels very quiet and not overlooked. The bathrooms are spacious, warm and have plenty of hot water. The hotel is a little way out of town (about a half hour very pleasant walk along the lakeside) but it has a fantastic on site restaurant which is very reasonably priced for the dishes they serve and an absolute must - whether you're staying there or not! There are two (very hot!) hot tubs with a view of the lake and the mountains. The front desk were helpful with arranging transfers back to Punta Arenas where most flights go from, although you can fly to Puerto Natales during high season albeit flights are more limited. For those interested in glacier and Torres del Paine tours these are easily done from this location, making this hotel a good base. Plus they serve the best pisco sours I had in Chile! All in all, we would definitely go back and recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable base whilst exploring the region.
Unique hotel, great views!
Great stay! Very unique hotel. Gorgeous views! The staff was very helpful and the free breakfast is a plus! It is a little out of town but easily walkable (30mins) or take a taxi. Would stay here again!
Beautiful quiet hotel by the lake
Amazing location with views of the lake from every room; really interesting architecture with rooms built into the ground. Great service all around. Fantastic breakfast. They also have a lovely hot tub that can be reserved for 45 min blocks. The only area of improvement would be the wifi - it worked only in the common areas and not in the rooms.
Great place to stay in Puerto natales
Quaint. Cozy. Dr No would be happy here.
Our stay was great. They have a few little hiddey holes to relax outside of your room. It’s cozy. The staff are friendly and informative. For me the best part was that it’s a 20 min walk in to town, it’s remote, for a remote part of the world. If that doesn’t work for you you can either grab a 5 min cab ride, or I’d suggest staying in town. But truly it is worth the “distance”. We walked around town and ate at some places that were suggested. And hit a spot or two for cocktails and beers. But we decided to stay in for the hotel dinner. We were not disappointed. It was very tasty and again more friendly service. I will return without question.
Gorgeous modern design. Excellent restaurant. Beautiful views of the landscape. Friendly helpful staff. Will definitely come back!
Interesting hotel built into the hillside with excellent views. It was a nice place to relax and recover after the W trek. Very good restaurant and friendly staff. It was a shame the hot tub is only open for a short time in the afternoon. The location is very quiet but a little bit outside the town centre.
Nice hotel overall, my only concern is the internet connection that is really bad.
Exceptional hotel, the design is very unique. Good food, nice experience.
the views are amazing, its worth being a little away from the town center. The staff is excellent and the restaurant is great
Highly recommended
Amazing eco hotel located 45 min walk or five minute 3,000p taxi ride from town. All rooms have views of sea and mountains. Staff exceptional. All very helpful happy and speak excellent English. Breakfast plentiful. Only drawback was wi fi hit and miss. Highly recommended
Great Hotel
It was a very comfortable hotel with a great view of the lake in Puerto Natales. It is not walking distance from town, which was the downside about this hotel for me. Also, the wifi wasn't that great, but I wasn't able to find good wifi anywhere in Puerto Natales.
Very Disappointing
On booking we were quite excited about our stay. However, upon arrival that changed quickly. We noticed that the room decor ( rugs, furniture) were dirty/soiled. No appointments in the room ( TV, proper lighting small fridge, air conditioning) No usable WiFi in rooms or at times elsewhere in hotel. Staff had limited knowledge of the trekking around the area which is why most go No shuttle service to town.
Very comfortable and unique
A great concept hotel - every room with great views of the water. Very comfortable with nice touches like heated bathroom floor and hot tubs for free hire. Breakfast good, dinner at restaurant very good. Wi-Fi not great but lots of routers so they are trying.
Could be so much better
The hotel is not walking distance from town. The sheets on the beds were clean but all stained. Hotel in the restaurant were not at all friendly. the rooms were very very hot and heating could not be turned off. A disappointing stay and not good value for money. The restaurant food was good. Overall the hotel is not good value for money.
My family and I LOVED our stay at the Altiplanico. The staff was so friendly and helpful the food was superb and the interiors light filled and respectful of the surrounding environment. Cannot wait to return!
Extremely comfortable almost a resort style hotel in Puerto natales. Much needed after 5 days of hiking.
Beautiful hotel, friendly and helpful staff.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. Loved the hotel layout and the room. The outdoor hot tub was also great.
Very cozy and friendly
The staff, restaurant and property were amazing and the views were incredible. I loved the outdoor hot tub too. The WiFi wasn’t usable in the rooms, so without a tv in the room it made it a little lonely for a solo traveler. Otherwise a great experience. Could go to the lobby for internet too. :)
Very nice ambiance from staff Interesting architecture but room could be a little more comfortable Bathrooms a little basic. More towels etc But definitely at least 4 stars

This property is truly a unique property - built into the slope of the ground, it is architecturally stunning and warm.
