Good location and nice facility.

Great location to a nice apartment hotel

Location is very good. At the heart of Flea market of Athens for those who like the mess... My company reserved rooms with breakfast however breakfast is served very late (0800) and I was unable to attend any breakfast. When asking what can be done I got a very disappointing reply - it's your problem. Not what I expected.

Great view of the Acropolis

Sweet little hotel in downtown Athens

Lovely view of Acropolis and other ancient sites. Lots of little openair restaurants eatin/takeout in relaxed neighborhood. Beautiful walkin shower. Drawback is stairs without handrail at entrance. Immaculate, complimentary rose to drink on balcony while contemplating Acropolis.

Great location

This hotel was in an excellent location for our purposes. Easy M3 train from the airport to Monastiraki neighborhood. From here it's a 5 minute walk to the hotel. The room is small but comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable. The street in front was busy so bring high quality earplugs. The restaurant next door blasted music most nights until 3 am and the street in front is busy with people. There are hundreds of restaurants in the area. We walked everywhere. The Acropolis and other major and minor attractions are within easy walking distance. Easy access by train to the ferry port, as well.

This is the place to stay when in Athens

The hotel staff was very easy to communicate with before and during our stay. I had several questions before we arrived and they were quick to respond and extremely helpful. The staff is amazing, they always greeted us with a smile, and were always available to assist when needed. The hotel is clean and always smells great. The attendants who cleaned our room did a great job. The hotel is very clean and well kept. The property is within walking distance to the metro station and the area, although busy and can be noisy, is safe and does not interfere with a peaceful rest and comfort of the room. The staff makes all the difference and you will enjoy your stay here. The hotel is central to all of the sites you want ot visit.

Great location, friendly staff

Hotel was perfect, from location, to our welcome. We were just going to drop bags at 0900 after our cruise, instead we were escorted to our room; Room had a nice balcony with a Parthenon view along with included bottle of wine. Comfortable bed, and nice size room. Hotel arranged transportation both from the port and to the airport. Both were at a good price.

Amazing view of Acropolis. Near entrance to Ancient Aegean. Only 5 min walk from metro.

Great stay!

Spend 5 nights together with my partner over New Years at Altar Suites. We had the room with Acropolis view. The room was spacious, modern and clean. And the best part was of course the balcony with the lovely view. Location was perfect with walking distance to all main attractions. The staff was very sweet and helpful through our stay, and if we go back to Athens we would not hesitate to come back to Altar Suites.

Excellent 360 degree views. Premium property with amazing service. Terrace was a highlight and so was the view of Acropolis from the bed. Breakfast was served by a cafe which has a great service and menu as well.

It may not have the fancy welcoming lobby you see at other places nor does it have other facility amenities, in fact it has a tiny apartment like entrance with the tiniest elavator but the service was excellent. Our check in went smooth, our room very clean, comfortable with simple decor, our balcony view was stunning. You can see an unobstructed view of the acropolis and hephaestus temple. The location is superb. Walking distance to all the the neighborhoods of Central Athens. Overall good value for the amount of money we paid. Definitely recommend this place.

Altar Suites is in a fabulous location and has an unbelievable view of the Acropolis. It's surrounded by too many restaurants to count, including the unlikely (but good) James Joyce Irish Pub across the street. The Monastiraki area is a fascinating place in which to walk around and shop. Breakfast was part of the deal and is served at the cafe next door. The only thing we didn't really like was the unusual check-in/out process. There isn't a traditional front desk. Instead, you are emailed a code to get in -- which should have been fine but we were having difficulty accessing our email during our travels and panicked a bit about getting in. Luckily one of their staff called me with the code (Phew!). After that all was fine.

The staff was great and very helpful. We loved the view and the areas around the hotel.

Amazing staff, great location!

The gentlemen who checked us in was an angel. He was gracious and kind and allowed us our room access early, This location is perfect, quiet and close to everything! We had a wonderful deck that overlooked the neighborhood. The only criticism I have is the room is a bit small, so I unpacked things from my suitcase outside on the balcony. There was not much room to move around between 2 of us staying in the room.

Beautiful hotel

This is a very nice, modern hotel with a beautiful view of the Acropolis. The manager went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. BUT the location is in a very noisy, touristy part of town with a late night open air club next door playing loud music. Great if you like the action.

It was a grate surprise to see not only the view but the fine design of the room. The lighting was a particular feature of this room. The location is perfect, close to the archeological sites, restaurants and cafes. The room sound isolation is unbelievable!!! You can rest without hearing the street noise. The hostess were very friendly and professional. In summary we very please to recommend Altar Suites for your next trip to Athens.

A really lovely place to stay, I booked a room with a balcony and the view of the acropolis was amazing. There are a lot of food places around and it’s right by the flea market. Staff were lovely and really helpful, highly recommend

Great hotel, nice and clean, good amenities and great location close to everything we wanted to visit on this occasion. Only issue was that as the communal areas eg stairwell and entrance were all hard surfaces and the rooms opened to this area, so you could hear every door opening and closing especially the front door which slams shut and also the conversations in the corridors. Luckily we didnt let this bother us as we were only there a short time. Saturday night, the neighbouring bar turns into a nightclub which ran past 1am so you felt the vibrations but once again didn't let that bother us. Last gripe was that we had an Acropolis view which was superb but whenthesun hits the correct angle you see that the windows are not the cleanest. Oh and last thing was that the neighbours bathroom window overlooked our balcony which was very odd. Still, a great place for a few days to enjoy lovely Athens.

Fantastic location but next to a bar

Hotel room was clean, staff was friendly and the location was fantastic but the room was next to a restaurant/bar that you could hear everything from all night.

Amazing place and the views were stunning. The guest staff extremely helpful and I would recommend if you don't want to be in a great food location that Altar is a key place to go to.

Beautiful suites and perfect location!

Our stay at Altar Suites was above and beyond. We stayed four nights. The suite was gorgeous—beautiful design, architecture and construction. Location was perfect. Walkable to all of the archeological attractions, the flea market, restaurants and shopping. Some prior reviews mentioned noise. We had no issues with noise in our fourth floor suite. Altar Suites has beautiful boutique accommodations in the heart of the old city. Would not hesitate to stay here again next time we’re in Athens!

Great location - though it can get loud over the weekends. Walking distance to many attractions and a ton of shops and restaurants nearby. The room was a bit cramped for 4 ppl and not having a bathroom door was a major hassle. Urban suites don’t have Acropolis views.. Overall, a good pleasant stay in the heart of Athens.

You should stay here

Loved this hotel and the staff. Everyone was warm and welcoming and took great interest in ensuring we were taken care of. The room accommodated our family of 3 adults and it was extremely comfortable. Location was perfect for us - lots of restaurants, shopping and within walking distance of the Acropolis. We would absolutely return

This place was incredible. We had the penthouse and the rooftop terrace was absolutely stunning. The staff was amazing They were helpful, had great recommendations for food and just friendly like they were happy to see you. I would stay here over and over again.

Excellent location especially with access to view the monuments comfortably from your balcony. I would stay again.

Our room was perfect. Clean and modern. Staff was available and very helpful. There is so much to do in this area and everywhere is walkable. Of course, there is noise because of the nearby bars and restaurants, but you should expect that if you’re staying in the heart of Athens. Even then, our sleep was not disturbed (like other reviews say). Overall we enjoyed our stay here and loved the convenience of walking everywhere and having everything nearby. Highly recommend.

Noisy , but stops at 11:30

We really enjoyed our stay at the Altar Suites. The property is situated in a very central area and offers spectacular views of the major historical sites. We were greeted by the friendly staff and they were all very enthusiastic and polite. We definitely recommend this property.

Emplacement ideal

Très belle chambre, spacieuse, vue imprenable, proximité des transports, de l’agora, restaurants, marché, emplacement parfait, à côté d’un irish pub qui diffuse des matchs et d’un club mais le bruit ne nous a pas dérangé. Le point d’amélioration est le petit déjeuner au Gellissimmo obligé de choisir entre une boisson chaude et un jus et un plat sucré ou salé dommage privilégiez un petit déjeuner aux alentours il y a de quoi

Good hotel if you don't need early breakfast (before 8am) or someone on hand at all times. Very clean rooms, good design and well maintained. I'd asked to cancel my breakfast pre-purchase and was rejected even though I'd only be using it once out of three days starting.

Great hotel in a great location

Great location and clean room. Comfortable bed. We had two rooms facing the Pantheon. Good breakfast. Most importantly- great location. Right in Monstraski and close to the best food all around. Did get loud on a Saturday evening but quiet otherwise. We loed this hotel and would stay again.

Loved this place!

We loved Altar Suites in Athens. The room feels pretty plain, but the bed was super comfortable, the shower and bathroom facilities were excellent, the included breakfast at the restaurant next door was yummy. Good tech features and a super location. And that view from the patio off the room of the Acropolis is stunning!

Amazing location, great views, clean, and nice staff

In the middle of everything

Loved our stay here. Very convenient location, right in the middle of the Plaka where there are lots of great restaurants, an easy 10-15 minute walk to the Acropolis. Our room had a beautiful view of the Parthenon. Modern furnishings, everything you need in our room. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Great views of the acropolis, amazing balconies. There is a bar next door bring your earplugs. Excellent friendly staff.

Lovely but Loud

Altar is a beautiful hotel, the problem is that it’s above 2 very loud and very popular bars that play music loudly until 1 am or later, and becasue of this I got very poor sleep. There is only one pillow per person and no one staffs the front desk or answers text messages after 6 pm so it’s very difficult to get help. The breakfast is weird to say the least— lots of stone cold scrambled eggs, questionable yet massive servings of some sort of tomato thing and No Coffee. Yes, no coffee. With breakfast. Again there is no one to ask about coffee as there is only an iPad no phone to front desk.

Lovely hotel - room felt luxurious and balcony was big. It is very close to the Acropolis with beautiful views however this also means it is close to the bars and restaurants which can be noisy into the night - this did not bother us as the bar next door had good music and we just fell asleep listening to it but if you are a light sleeper maybe not for you!

Amazing property, will definitely come back and would highly recommend.

Really easy checkin. Communication was excellent for late check in. If youre coming to Athens stay here. You wont be disappointed.

Conveniently located.

It was good except for the following: 1. The balcony was too close to a restaurant behind, with no privacy. 2. On Sundays, early morning, the church ceremony was very loud for one hour. 3. On Monday, 7:30 am, construction started in our room and woke us up. In general, it is an excellent place but without sleeping and relaxing :(
