Best accommodation with best view

We tried booking beachfront hotels but when we saw this place, we instantly knew that it will offer us better accommodation. The view was spectacular from the room. The area was quiet the place feels like home. Very comfortable and to top it off, the delicious homemade breakfast by the owners. They were very accommodating and entertaining at the same time. It was our first time in Paihia and it did not disappoint us. Will definitely book this accommodation on our next visit.

Superb

A very warm welcome from the owner on arrival. He was a font of great information on the area and makes a superb loaf of bread for breakfast. Our room was spotless. There were two large bars in the bathroom to hang out two towels on. Excellent. The kettle and hot drinks provision was a very nice touch. The view was unforgettable. Breakfast itself was delicious with a great choice. Cannot fault the place.

Friendly, informative host. Gave us a tour of everything, explained how the keys worked for security. The apartment was immaculate, comfortable, well-equipped. Wish we could have stayed longer. Well done!!

This was a fantastic stay with great views overlooking Pahia and Russell. The unit had a well-equipped kitchen and all the amenities of home. The hosts, Brits and Heinz are very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend and will stay here again

Fantastic views of The Bay of Islands

Britta and Heinz were the congenial and helpful host of this clean and immaculate B&B. Perched high above Paihia the views from our well appointed room were a spectacular vista of the township and the bay overall. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Nothing to complain about here - would highly recommend Allegra House.

Fabulous really helpful and engaged owners

We had a wonderful stay at Allegra House. Our room was perfect with the most magnificent views of the Bay of Islands. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and had so many suggestions of places to visit and things to see. The breakfasts were also great - Heinz sure know a thing or two about cooking eggs! We can't recommend a better place to stay.

Beautiful location, amazing views. The owners are lovely, friendly knowledgeable of what things to do in the area. They cook you an amazing breakfast every morning up on the open balcony. Only downside is if you want to go out for a drink without driving it’s a huge hill to walk up. But Accommodation wise excellent.

Amazing accomodation with fantastic hosts

Allegra House and it’s hosts Brita and Heinz provide an amazing holiday experience. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed extremely comfortable, the breakfast was fantastic and the service provided by the hosts was first class. Nothing was too much trouble and we honestly felt like part of the family. The view over the bay is unparalleled. Allegra House provided an unforgettable couple of days rest in a beautiful location and we can’t recommend it highly enough.

What a fantastic place ! We had the Top Suite, the views were unbelievable ! Very comfortable and roomy, we did appreciate the wet bar area where the was also plenty of space for the luggages. Brita and Heinz are wonderful hosts, they are very knowledgeable about the area and gave us plenty of tips. Great breakfast and conversations in the morning. Thanks again for a great stay. Cheers !

Top notch room with spectacular view

Top notch in all respects. The room was great, the view from both the room and decks was truly spectacular. Heinz and Brita we’re great hosts who arranged a bunch of stuff for us, breakfast was excellent. The only problem was that we had to leave to fly home. :)

Dream holiday destination and accommodation

We couldn’t have asked for anything more Beautiful setting, pristine apartment with very friendly and knowledgeable hosts Nothing too much trouble and exceptionally well equipped apartments.

Good hospitality, delicious breakfasts (continental plus well cooked eggs). Superb view over the Bay from our veranda. The only drawback was that our well equipped, attractive room had a small bathroom.

The best of the best!!!

When your first arrive and walk through the front door you literally say WOW!!! This B&B is amazing, the room was exactly as described, the bed was super comfortable and the private balcony looking down on the Bay is spectacular. The hosts are so welcoming and friendly and have a wealth of knowledge of the local area. We enjoyed the delicious breakfasts on the balcony and interacting with them and other guests. Some guests there were repeat guests with comments that its the best place they have stayed travelling around NZ, and you can understand why, we definitely would want to stay there when we return to Paihia and cant recommend it enough. Loved the homely feel, with a selection of CDs for the stereo, bath robes, plunger coffee and fresh milk and lovely toiletries and the WIFI was great. The place is awesome!!! There is also a bush track to walk through for a short cut into town, so its location is great and close to everything. We also walked to Waitangi grounds, in only 25 mins.

Best part of our stay in New Zealand!

Although we only stayed two nights at Allegra, they were, by far, the best two nights of our weeklong New Zealand vacation. Paihia is a charming coastal town, and Allegra is best placed to take the most advantage: magnificent views of the Bay of Islands from the master suite on the top floor; wonderful easy hike down the forested trail to Paihia below; and, most of all, best B&B hosts ever. Beira and Heinz offered the warmest welcome, the most luxurious breakfast (al fresco, with a view) and were the most knowledgeable guides of Paihia, the Bay of Islands, and of Kiwi history and culture, in general. We will definitely book another New Zealand visit, just to stay again at Allegra!!

The location & views are breath-taking. The hospitality was exceptional. Heinz & Brita were absolutely amazing hosts. From the very first interaction they make you feel at home. Breakfast on the deck in the company of travellers from around the world is fantastic. More importantly the hosts join you at breakfast & ensure everyone is engaged. It isn't surprising why this place has been winning accolades & trip advisor of the year awards since 2001. We will certainly return to this place. Sincere thanks Brita & Heinz...well done.

Great B&B

Lovely hotel with stunning views of the Bay of Islands. Comfortable, well equipped room and very welcoming hosts.

Excellent view, no privacy or value for money

The owners were kind enough to give us the one bedroom apartment for the studio rate and were very welcoming from first to last minute of our stay. However, the bed sheets and towels didn't smell fresh and the B&B washed towels drying on a clothesline outside our windows would touch the nearby plants and wall as the wind moves them. The breakfast was served in the owners' kitchen and shared with other guests ( not ideal) and was also too basic for what we paid in the low season for the room and breakfast $195 per night. The owner, as nice as he is, would come to our balcony unannounced to water plants, hang the washed towels or else, allowing us no privacy during the 4 days we spent there. Compared to what nearby hotels of 4* + were offering around the same time, Allegra house wasn't value for money.

superb...one of the best

This has to be one of the best B&B's we have ever stayed in. We had the Top Room, which has views to die for....and is equipped with absolutely anything you would wish for. The hosts are fantastic and you have to try the home made bread.........what a way to start the day. Would we return...you bet!

Great Retreat Base for the Bay of Islands

We just loved this hotel! It is really a classic Bed and Breakfast, with the friendly owners on site and ready to help you with whatever: booking a dolphin boat, supplying beach towels, advising where to stay on your way back to Auckland etc. We didn't actually get to experience the breakfast, as we usually don't, being night owls and all, but I trust it is really good. The view from our room was dreamy. This hotel is up the hill from the other hotels along the main strip, but this allows for the best views of both the ocean and the hills. We walked back and forth to town; it was no big deal and about 15 minutes. Request the top corner room with the deck - you won't be disappointed. The bathroom was large and well-equipped with shampoo, conditioner, etc. and the kitchenette was very handy. I appreciated the cream in the fridge for morning coffee. The owners are also committed to sustainable tourism and utilize green practices in the hotel.

The best BnB in Bay of Islands

This is an amazing BnB. We loved our stay, and if we are ever in the Bay of Island we would not hesitate to stay there again. Our hosts were so sweet and helpful.
