Excellent staff and service

The best suite and bedding I ever had in Europe. Huge for Zurich standards . Extremely friendly staff at the front desk. Breakfast in the room was worth it and delicious. It’s a definitely coming back !

I recently stayed at Alden Hotel, and I must say it was far from the luxury 5-star experience they advertised. This place is actually part of an apartment building in a residential area, and there’s nothing luxurious about it. Our room felt like someone bought a random apartment, furnished it with outdated, mismatched pieces from a flea market, and labeled it as "luxurious." The furniture wasn’t even "vintage" – just old. To make matters worse, the rooms are not soundproof as advertised. We could hear the guests above us, including their kids running and yelling, well into the night—until 3 AM! It made for a very unpleasant and sleepless stay. Overall, I feel misled by the description of this hotel. It does not live up to its claims of luxury, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a true 5-star experience.

Fantastic stay at a lovely property quite convenient for shopping and walking around town. Staff was consistently above and beyond. Appreciate the room upgrade to the executive suite. My only gripe was that the a/c didn’t do much and at night the hotel was so well heated that we had trouble sleeping. If you aren’t used to American a/c cold room sleeping or bust, you won’t have any trouble. However, the bedding, bed, and overall service still made it a lovely stay.

We stopped at this fantastic hotel for a single night. ALL the staff were superb … charming, generous and could not do enough for us. Top quality service like this is very unusual in my opinion. Everything was exceptional

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Alden Suites. The staff was fantastic and always welcoming. The room we stayed in was large with a separate sitting room connected. Breakfast in the morning was excellent as well. The boutique hotel is in a quiet area and about 20 minutes walk to old town Zurich so manageable for sightseeing.

Wonderful staff. Spacious rooms. A/C worked well. Outlets near bed would be welcome. Breakfast pretty decent. Close to lake and Bahnhofstrasse.

A true delight!

This is an excellent hotel in a quiet but convenient area. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was a gorgeous suite with very nice furniture and was very clean. We highly recommend that hotel for business or vacation.

Very large suite and friendly staff

Lovely and very spacious suite with separate large bedroom, large bathroom, and large sitting room. Service from all employees was exemplary - always smiling and doing their best to fulfill every request.

The staff are very courteous and helpful. The suite we stayed in was very spacious and well appointed. This was our second visit to Alden. We’ll be back!

Best hotel experience in the world

I travel around the world for business and pleasure. The hospitality and professionalism of all of the staff were the best in the world. In addition, while I know this is simple but most hotels especially luxury hotels don’t do this but having the snacks and non alcoholic beverages for no charge goes a long way in showing you appreciate is being guests. We had very good recommendations that were given to us for food and how to get places. I will definitely be back with my family and while recommend the place to everyone I know and people that ask. Thank you!!!

A perfectly adequate hotel. Not what I would call 5 stars. The hotel bar/restaurant were rarely staffed. A very small elevator would bring you to the level of your room. Barely big enough for two people. The room was huge, but mostly unused space. You can tell it’s a very old, historic building. Climate control in the room was not clear. A 55CHF HALF bottle of champagne was in the mini fridge but there was no indication of price until check out. I didn’t get the wow factor for the price and star rating.

Architecturally, speaking, a gorgeous hotel, with large spacious rooms and amenities. The staff members were extremely polite and helpful.

We Loved Our Time Here

This is beautiful hotel. Lovely setting in a quiet neighborhood with easy walking distance to shopping, restaurants and cultural sights. The rooms are large including a full sitting room outside of the bedroom.

Great Location for a quiet stay, only 10 minutes to Old Town and the Excitement. Disappointing that they have no Restaurant for Lunch or Dinner, but they have a great Buffet Breakfast and a la carte.

Beautiful property with huge rooms. Staff are also very friendly/attentive. Highly recommend.

A place that feels like “Home”

Amazing place. Staff were Awesome. Very cozy. Suits are spacious. one very minor issue, because it was very hot in Zurich (about 34 degrees) during our stay, one of the ACs was not as cool as we’d hoped.

Extremely well located hotel within a few hundred meters from the center and lake Zurich Rooms were ridiculously large, staff was very friendly. Highly recommend this hotel. Breakfast was minimalistic but very good.

Our stay in this hotel was excellent. Really courteous staff who go the extra mile to nake your stay pleasant. Rooms are spacious. Hotel is walking distance to the lake and river limmat and close to the tram line to take you to the rest of the city. Last but not the least, the room service is very quick (you order food through a tablet in the room) with amazing food. We are glad we chose Alden.

Excellent luxury suites at very good value

Great suite and amazing facilities. Misliu at check-in was really great and very helpful. Breakfast was amazing. However, things that could be improved. The restaurant closed early and we were hoping to get our dinner at the hotel. We couldn't find anything in the minibar and price of items taken from front-office were not clear. No one at the front desk in the morning for check-out which took a while.

The most amazing staff works at this outstanding property. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to coming back!!

Amazingly large junior suite and nicely decorated. The staff was very responsive for anything we requested. We just had some minor maintenance issues with mini bar refrigerator that was not working and a shaving mirror with a broken holder. Staff offered to move us to another exact suite but we declined as we had already unpacked. Good location and lovely bar and restaurant. A very good value for the size!

Very old out dated and over priced hotel . Worst hotel ever stayed in .

Air conditioning doesn't work on hot summer days. Corridor is colder than room. Staff brought "portable" AC, put a big plastic tub through the window - window has to be kept open all night - brought in a few lucky bugs to bite me. Front desk admitted they have half dozen portable AC units. So, the hotel knows the AC problems. This is a $500 hotel!

Charming boutique hotel in Zurich

Alden is an excellent boutique hotel with charm! The rooms are spacious and well maintained, the service is exemplary, breakfast is superb, and the cozy library is a treat. While the hotel isn't directly in the city center, its just a short walk to there and other major sites. I would highly recommend this hotel for both business and family travelers. I was visiting with my family and found the spacious rooms to be very comfortable for the four of us. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice stay

The hotel room was very spacious. It would be great for a couple or a family. The room service was nice and the location was easy to get to. I would have appreciated better lighting in the bedroom and outlets near the bed for charging my phone.

Lovely stay

The staff were wonderful. The room was in need of some repair as the shower pan leaked. They were very kind and upgraded us to a suite. However as in many European hotels smokers had stayed in that suite prior to us. We did not say anything to the staff as we did not think that one night would be that unbearable. So we slept with the windows open to air out the room. The hotel is beautiful and well decorated. The staff made the stay wonderful. We could not have ask for better service. We might stay again if passing thru Zurich with the caveot that we inspect the room first next time.

This is a very small hotel owned by an absentee hotel group, We had a family emergency and instead of a 2 day stay we left for home after 1 day. We have stayed there perhaps 6 to 8 times before, The staff had no authority to modify our reservation and charged us for 2 nights. The hotel staff are very young and have zero managerial skills.

Fabulous stay

We had a fabulous stay at Alden. The staff were all very friendly. The room was very spacious. The breakfast was delicious. It’s in a great location right off of a couple different rail stations so very easy to get around.

Nice Hotel close to center of Zurich

The Alden Hotel was withing walking distance to the center of Zurich, public transportation, train station and all the historical points of interests. The suites were very clean and huge. The staff was very professional and accommodating. I definitely would recommend this place.

Perfection

Alden Suites Hotel fit the name. The rooms were huge. The layout included a living room, dining room area and a huge bedroom. The amenities were of the highest quality and very well thought of. I felt that the breakfast was extremely costly, but one of the highest quality and service. I did feel rushed as the staff started cleaning up and removing the breakfast setup (if your planning on getting breakfast, get up early. We slept in. 🤓) The staff was extremely courteous, professional and always available to help. I would definitely recommend.

never stay at Alden Suite

The hotel staff lied me about the presence of internet connection, send me over to a starbucks to make a skype conference call (it was raining cats and dogs), did not consider refund, the suite where i was staying did not have the option to regulate the room temperature in the two rooms, hence one was cold and the other overheated, the bedroom is overlooking an office building (no privacy in case you do not want to use curtains all day long), windows are small, the rooms are dark.

A comfortable stay

Very comfortable and spacious. Staff were very friendly. (I still can't understand why Swiss hotels give separate duvet covers for a couple. Mustn't be a very romantic country ...)

Excellent stay in Zurich

We arrived early on a NY flight and were immediately greeted by a very friendly staff who went out of there way to get us into a room in just a few minutes that morning. Our suite was lovely, spacious and well appointed. The hotel’s location is also ideal, close to everything, but on a quiet residential street. The hotel gets an all around 5.0 perfect rating from us!

Nice older boutique style hotel.

From the moment we walked in, you could tell it's an older hotel, but it's so well appointed, and the staff were all so nice! The rooms are quite large and yet cozy. The bed was very comfortable and the place was spotless! Cozy bar and restaurant - felt almost romantic. Everyone was professional, friendly, and accommodating from the front desk personnel to the chef, and to our server Camille who enhanced our stay with her menu recommendations and her friendly spirit!

EXCELLENT HOTEL!

Such a great clean hotel with excellent customer service! We loved it! We received a free upgrade large bathroom, with tub, shower double sink and another 1/2 bath. Walking distance to the park, shopping and restaurants.

Don't waste your money!

I thought this was an over-rated and over-priced hotel. My room was not furnished as represented in the photos, the sofa had spots on it, there was never a maid in sight, no one ate in the dining room, we were the only ones at the bar, we had no turn-down service at night, and my complaints to the manager went nowhere except a bunch of excuses. Further, the hotel is not conveniently located to anything without a long hike or car ride.

Great hotel, small, boutique but in a good location, 10-15 minute walk from the center of Zurich. The rooms are large, clean, very comfortable beds and the staff is amazing!

Very pleasent stay. Staff were amazing! Very friendly and helpful. Always smiling and ready to lend a hand. Location is alittle out of the way but it's good to get abit of peace and quiet after a long day. Safe area and quiet too.

Amazing Hotel

Great place wonderful staff

Great location - 1 block from lake, park, train station as well as the COOP ( for those inexpensive picnics ). Hotel staff could not be any more welcoming (possibly the best welcome to a hotel that I've ever had) Room (junior suite) was decorated and furnished beautifully, bathroom was huge with shower and separate (big enough for two) jet tub. Would definitely stay again
