2N couple get-away

Safe and great location within the center, just about 8mins walk to Central Train and Bus Stations. 24-Hr reception with free Coffee/Tea at Dining Area. Clean and Comportable room size. Free BF with loads to choose however the fresh pastries caught my attention. High customer service from reception to kitchen staffs - Victoria, Pele, Ester and another lady from kitchen. High salute to Silvia and Marco both from reception, super helpful with queries and directions...extending efforts to fulfill your needs. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay back if given a chance.

Overall, the hotel was nice and the staff courteous, but there appeared to be some issues with heating.

Very good Hotel Breakfast was excellent very clean in the centre and close to the train station.If I go to Trieste I would go again there

Great property with excellent staff and the ideal place to stay to explore Trieste. Valet parking is well worth the 20 euro a day. Excellent breakfast selection. Would stay again if we return.

The hotel is conveniently located, the room is clean, the bed is comfortable, and the breakfast is good.

The staff were lovely, the room clean and the pistachio croissants at breakfast delectable. They let me store my bag and have an afternoon tea when picking it up. So nice and great location!

It is an older hotel but the rooms are spacious, well appointed, spotlessly clean and with very comfortable beds. The breakfast is excellent. A couple of improvements I would suggest. There was a window above the sink and no mirror. When shaving I had to turn 180 degrees and use the mirror above the toilet. Also, the lights in the room are only on when the key card is inserted in the slot just inside the door. There appears to be no way of turning lights on and off independently so at bedtime, you have to remove the card from the slot and all the lights go out. In the night, if you want to turn on a light, you have to insert the card and all the lights come on.

Beautiful hotel. Extremely accessible to Trieste. Downtown. Loved the streets, shops and ambience of the area. Breakfast was awesome and lounge stunning.

Lovely Stay in the Heart of Trieste: Great Breakfa

We had a really pleasant stay at this hotel, located right in the heart of the historic center, full of charm and character. The breakfast was definitely a highlight: rich, varied, and able to satisfy every palate, with a wide selection of fresh and delicious options. The staff was extremely courteous and always available, making us feel truly at home. A detail we particularly appreciated was the wonderful scent of the shower gel provided in the room – it was delightful! The only downside of our stay was that the room cleaning could have been more thorough. Additionally, there was no shower screen, which unfortunately caused water to spill out while showering. Overall, though, we had a great experience and wouldn't hesitate to return for another visit. And of course, Trieste is a special city that added even more to our stay!

Absolutely loved this hotel and its location. Room was basic but very clean. Breakfast was a typical European meal but very yummy. Service at the desk and at breakfast were exceptional.

The breakfasts offered many options - cereal, cold cuts (delicious cheese), yogurt, fruits and at least 4 different types of croissants every morning. The staff was helpful - offering a breakfast beverage upon our arriving in the breakfast room...and even remembering me throughout my stay! The staff also made a reservation for a taxi to the airport for our day of departure, and offered to pack some food items for us as we had to leave before breakfast hours began.

Perfect Location; Great staff

The location is perfect, and the staff are beyond friendly. My single room was quite small, but very comfortable with a new bathroom. My only complaint is their pillows are very skimpy.

It was nice to have a 24 hour front desk person in attendance to ask questions about the train service, etc. The hotel is in an excellent location but it is tired looking inside. One small old elevator. Shower tile was moldy and the heated towel rack did not work so the towels were damp. No carpeting in the rooms so you could hear people walking around in the room above.

A beautiful, sophisticated hostel. Very close to the main train station. Staff were welcoming and professional. Facilities were clean, and I felt safe during my stay. Delicious breakfast in the morning.

Nice hotel, about 8 minutes walk from the bus and train station and not too far from some of the main tourist attractions. You get free breakfast which is nice but it was a continental breakfast. Main issue was the dust in the room and we could not use the air-conditioning (only available in peak season)

A perfect stay

Albergo alla Posta is a true gem in Trieste. I like everything about the hotel: its location, staff, service, rooms, breakfast.

Loved this place!

Everything was awesome - not sure why people say the hotel is “outdated” - it’s a historic property obviously but not old. Breakfast was great and they have coffee/tea in the lobby thru out the day which was awesome as I got a bit sick during my stay. Everyone was super nice too. 10/10 would stay again.

It was good and close to train station

Excellent breakfast, room size/plenty of space, and the room had a bath (but no plug in bath!). No noise from outside. Really comfy bed. Good room design e.g. someone could use bathroom without waking the other person.

Although the hotel felt a little tired, we would certainly stay here again. The hotel was a short walk from the station and a convenient location to explore Trieste. The staff were exceptional - they were extremely helpful and made us feel valued.

A lovely historic building on a busy square

Beautiful, small hotel. Exceptionally clean. Good value for money. Great continental breakfast buffet (available until 10am) including fresh fruit. Free tea and coffee available all day in the breakfast room (no tea-making facilities in the bedrooms). Hard beds. Rooms face a busy square with a well-used bus-stop immediately outside so it's noisy with windows open but OK when closed and air-conditioning is quite effective. Better black-out curtains would help, as there are very bright street lights right outside. Hotel offers valet parking at 20 Euros per night. This was definitely worth it for us, as driving (and especially parking) around Trieste is a nightmare! For exploring the city, a car is not needed as it is mostly walkable (10 mins to Grand Canal) and regular busses go beyond. Lovely city with historic buildings and plenty to do for our 4-day stay. Not the friendliest hospitality in many restaurants in Trieste .... unusual for Italy, in our experience.

What a delight to get to stay at a historical hotel and be so close to all of the Old Town action. We loved walking around and getting oriented to the beauty of Trieste. The bed was quite comfortable and the bathroom is gorgeous. Sad that we couldn't figure out how to plug the drain and enjoy the jet features, but felt more European to use the hand shower head. Also, the electricity and switches were confusing. Never figured out how to turn on the TV. Really grateful for the kind help and service of the front desk staff.

Great hotel, excellent location. First rate!

This hotel was fab. A perfect location for getting around Trieste. The room was a good size, with a very spacious bathroom (although a small shower cubicle only) and one of the biggest hotel wardrobes I've ever seen! There was a mini fridge (useful for keeping water cool) but no tea/coffee making facilities (as typical in many European countries). Unfortunately circumstances meant that I was unable to make use of the hotel breakfast, but the dining room looked appealing. The hotel appeared well maintained and I had a very comfortable stay. Reception was very helpful with assisting in travel when a train strike occurred for the day I was travelling from Trieste to Venice. I would happily stay here again.

The hotel is in a great location just minutes from the train and bus stations and all the main city centre attractions. The area around felt safe and there were a great selection of cafes, bars and restaurants nearby. My room was comfortable with good air-conditioning. There was no safe or coffee making facilities and the TV remote didn't work. WiFi was very unreliable in my room but worked well in the breakfast room. A good selection of breakfast items included in the room rate and I particularly liked the fresh fruit salad, yogurts and baked goods. The staff were all very friendly.

The hotel has clearly undergone recent renovation and it has brought new life into a historical lodging. Staff are very helpful and my room was contemporary in style with a great size bathroom for single room. Breakfast choice is extensive and very good. Tea and coffee self service available 24/7 in the breakfast room - super.

Comfortable and central…what more do you want?

A clean and comfortable hotel, in the perfect location, between the station and the centre. The single room was small but had everything you need, including a choice of pillows. The breakfast buffet was great and the staff were helpful and charming. So, I have no hesitation in recommending the Albergo alla Posta. The only slight downside, is the lack of non Italian chanels on the tv.

I had a very comfortably stay here. Just be careful to not spray water from the shower all over the bathroom floor.

Everyone in the hotel staff was great — very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the housekeeping team really scoured it daily. The continental breakfast was one of the best I’ve seen.

An old traditional style Italian hotel in need of a lick of paint and smarten up here and there but the room and bathroom was spacious and very clean if a little dated. Very good value for the price which included an excellent buffet style breakfast with delicious coffee. A refreshing change from the faceless identikit budget hotels around at the moment. Also in a very good location for shopping, cafes, restaurants etc and the main square and canal area. Trieste itself is a delightful city, we loved it.

Location of this hotel is excellent. 5 minute walk from the station and very near to the local bus hub (let's overlook the fact that Trieste does not have a local transportation map, merely an app which gives you timetables but no map of destinations, not very helpful for general exploring).Staff are very helpful and friendly. Rooms are clean, newly refurbished and quiet although you are within walking distance of all of the restaurants and bars. They do lack a room safe and anyone who is at all infirm should check their bathroom: our new bath had a shower installed at a fixed height above it but with no grab rails, shower screen or curtain; not easy to use without drenching the tiled floor which then became very slippy. There was no in- room kettle but a machine in the downstairs lobby was available for free tea/coffee whenever you wanted it. We really enjoyed our 4 days in this fabulous city and we will happily return to this hotel.

Lovely hotel in central Trieste.

This was a beautiful hotel conveniently located in central Trieste. The building was stunning, the room lovely and the breakfast room was charming. The food and service were attentive. We were able to find wonderful restaurants and attractions within a few minutes walk from the property. The parking is tricky as you can use a lot across the street that has meters. We opted for the 20€ per day valet parking which was safe and convenient.

Refreshments available on arrival. Good location for city and bus/train. Good breakfast. Helpful staff, printing off tickets was done with a smile. Lift a little slow and steps to get to it. My single bed was rather small in width and being against the wall made it seem even smaller!

Good value! I would absolutely stay again!

Very comfortable room and bed. The bathroom was roomy but the shower could have used new caulking. The staff was wonderful and the breakfast was extremely nice, particularly for being included!! The area is fine. The only negative was that air conditioning is controlled by the front desk—it happened to be mild weather but it was on the verge of being too warm.

Great hotel about 10-15 min walk to the main pizzas. There was parking available for pay across the street and valet as well at a cost.

Great Hotel

Excellent location, short walk to the train station and to the old city. Room was large and very quiet even though we were on the front side facing the square. Staff was very professional and helpful and always willing to give excellent advice. Breakfast was very good. Wi-fi was great.

Good value for money !

I was given a mediocre room for the first night (on the 4th floor). The next morning I asked reception to change rooms and they kindly checked me into a very nice room on the third floor. Breakfast was also good. Location of the hotel was great.

Stayed one night in Trieste between Venice and Ljubljana, and this place was great. Close to stations, close to the sea. Very comfortable as well. Recommend no worries.

Great place to stay

Great staff, comfortable room and bathroom. When window closed it totally keeps outside noise out but, can hear neighbors tv. A few stairs up to lift., staff would help if necessary . Great breakfast.
