It’s was a nice get away.
Not sure if there has been a change in management but this hotel is definitely not 5 star management. The hotel itself is beautiful but very poorly managed. When we first arrived they told us they didn’t have our room that we booked and paid for for our honeymoon and How do you overbook rooms that are paid for? The room was booked far in advance. We talked to management and they offered us late checkout as a solution. We wasted 4 hours dealing w this situation and management was not even remorseful regarding the situation. We had to switch rooms and waste more time repacking and moving. Besides that the room we checked into was a swim up suite that had underwear and trash on the ledge. I notified staff and it’s still there. The hotel is at full capacity and the service is subpar. Food runs out, they don’t have enough people at the food stations to keep up w the guests. There is often no seating for beach chairs or pool chairs with people reserving the chairs for hours without use. If you are not a “unique guest” they treat you like a second class citizen. On our first day the beach was taken over by the locals playing soccer in undershirts. It’s just not expected from a 5 star resort. There’s only one towel station for the whole hotel and it’s far from The adult pool and the beach? How does that make sense. You have to walk far to get a towel and then walk back to your chair? Why wouldn’t you have a towel station by the pools and beach? I have stayed at many 5
The property was spotless & and beautiful! Staff friendly and very helpfull Food, well... not so much. Some very good, some not so good.
This hotel was beautiful. However it is not an adults only property and is mixed in with the family portion of the hotel. The check in was not easy and took close to 30 minutes
The property is beautiful but everything is far from the adult area. And the hallways definitely need more light.
I loved the Swim Up pool option we selected for our room. This was a definite game changer!
I understand this is just my experience and others may have had a worst or better experience but no exaggeration or fluff, this is a honest review! On a scale from 1-5, rating the most important things an all-inclusive should have (in my opinion) WiFi - 2 TV Services - 1 Lopesan App - 2 Staff Service - 3 Food/drink - 3 Amenities - 5 Property Landscape- 5 Room Cleanliness - 4 Property Cleanliness - 4 Property & Rooms: I stayed in the adults only section (not Unique) a King swim- up room. It was quiet and private and there weren’t any kids, however others may pass through the hallways as the hotel has many openings to enter and exit from. The rooms are adequately decorated and were clean. Shower was really nice! Lots of storage and a fully stocked refrigerator! We did encounter some bugs in the room. We had no iron, had to request one, and that one didn’t fully work. We didn’t experience the dampness smell in our room that other posters experienced but we did smell it in the hallways, however it wasn’t overwhelming. The hotel is HUGE- the property grounds are simply beautiful, and mostly clean, any trash in the public areas are from careless guests that’s too lazy to put their stuff in the trash! In terms of beauty, Lopesan is one of the best I’ve seen and a great atmosphere to take great photos! It’s right on the beach, and we found that there was plenty of seating on the beach and we didn’t get there early. The infinity pool, get
The property was excellent. But the real charm is the staff. Edgar Dose and Elvis Reyes went above and beyond to make our stay an excellent one. They really made my Wife feel special on her birthday. I highligly recommend this hotel for everyone looking for a great place to relax wtih excellent staff service.
The resort was nice and had a lot of amenities. The staff were not the friendliest. There were too many boats out front to enjoy the view of ocean. Too many peddlers begging for purchases. They wanted $260 for a picture with a lizard and 2 parrots. The restaurants were nice and food was good. Got sick on the crab salad.
We booked adults only which included VIP check in and a free bottle of wine with our stay. They didn’t have enough workers for VIP check in for us so we waited in line with everyone else, and when we called about the free bottle of wine they stated they would send it up and never did. We also had to complain about the first room we were put in due to tiny aunts everywhere and the floor had old paint chips and nails in the corners. They moved us to another room. Both rooms had a very very musty smell though. The resort was very nice though and the food was decent for an all inclusive
I didn't like that it was not an all adult inclusive and it was too much walking everything seemed so far away
Staff is curt and sometimes even rude
Excellent
Great food.
This was like one of the worst resorts I stayed at I felt almost discriminated against the service was terrible everything is extremely far from each other there’s soliciting allowed all over the hotel and they harass you food was mid the restaurants are booked so you can’t book people were rude and unhelpful and everything is a upcharge defeating the purpose of all inclusive
Resort was clean, luxurious and had many options for bars and restaurants. Staff was top notch friendly
Excellent property. Only request will be for allowing guests to make reservations at the restaurants on first night. Allowing buffet only for a short stay is not desirable.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay on this property!
Nice property, but service was zero and food was very subpar. Expected more from this quality resort. Also, adults only means they have one little pool and that’s it! Buildings are not segregated by families and adults only. We paid for a swim out room, only to have small kids snorkeling in our pool. Very disappointing!
Loved the walk in pool
This hotel on the pictures to books seemed like a 4-5star hotel. But getting to the place seemed more like a 3 star hotel. The rooms were very humid and a a humidity smell. I have to wash my clean cloths that I didn’t wear as the smell could just not go away. The swim up rooms are not private what’s so ever. You have about 5ft of privacy from the next room, we stayed at the adults only as we had no kids but to the surprise there were kids on this side of the resort also. The staff and people sound very loud in the morning in the hallways and it ecos very loud in the room, can’t sleep in. And very annoying. The food was ok nothing special. We paid about $800/night and thought we were getting that kind of value. U get 2 cards for 2 towels god forbidden we need 1 more you will not get it no matter how much u complain. If I could have brought my own I would have. In the room there was only 1 towel also. Frustrating. We got there on a thur-Sunday. We tried to make reservations for dinner unfortunately every day was overbooked and couldn’t get in. They told us they get booked about a week in advance, how nice!!?? I think the value of this hotel is $275 maxx a night if u pay more ur going to regret.
We will be coming back! After all the resorts we have been to this has by far the best. The food exceeded my expectations! This place was beautiful and clean. I felt so luxurious the entire time. Look no further this is great for adults or families.
Worst Experience ever ! The resort is so nice and catching to the eye . But the upkeep horrible . Rooms are poorly maintained as if they have so many rooms they can’t keep up with maintenance. We switched rooms 3 times . One room had leaking ceiling, next room ants , dirty showers . The restaurant food was discussing. Only thing pleasing was the beach and pools . Takes them hours to bring towels once requested . It was so bad . And I never do bad reviews .
High recommended! Beautiful and staff hotel very friendly!
Very bad food
Excellent hotel! Staff super nice and friendly Lady in the coffee shop very nice. Bartender from the adult only pool too! Super nice
Great resort
The property and building design is beautiful. However, the distance between your room and the boulevard where the entertainment is at is BIG. Wear comfortable shoes. The restaurants are overrated except for the Asian cuisine. That one was excellent. As for the rest, the food quality is average at best. The menu descriptions of the dishes are not very clear. The buffet was definitely the go to the majority of the time. When it comes to the service, it was disappointing. The place is understaffed and overworked. If you want a drink in the pool be prepared to get out and walk to the bar to the two bartenders trying to keep with orders for 100 people. If you want a VIP experience, would not recommend. The adults only rooms are in fact not adults only as they put families in the rooms right next to you. For anyone interested in getting a swim up pool room, you do get room service included. However, you won’t be able to order drinks to your room. To get a drink, you’ll need to leave your swim up pool, walk through your room and go to the nearest bar which won’t be close.
Clean property with an amazing beach. Loved all the different pools. Would have liked to try more restaurants but they were hard to get into bc all took reservations.
Workers were very good. Food Good. Pool clean.
The Location of the property is beautiful, but is overshadowed by the rudeness and unprofessional conduct of the hospitality workers 5 nights of Buffet Dining because all the Restaurants are “Full” Had to go to a local emergency room because the food Poisoning I caught from my 1 trip to the Buffet … My Wife spent the whole trip alone, harassed by the swarms of Male staff attempting to seduce her. This is the worst Vacation experience we have ever had and I would not suggest this property to my worst enemy !!
The resort was beautiful and there were endless stuff to do. They had beautiful and well-kept facilities, as well as many dining options for people with different dietary restrictions and allergies. The room I was staying in was not the most well kept, and the sheets were not super clean.
We had a great time at Lopesan. Beach was beautiful, and we enjoyed our time at the adults pool. In the evening we enjoyed our walks to The Boulevard. There you find shops, cafe, sports bar, casino, kids water park and much more. So much to do! I would definitely recommend this resort. Some things the resort would benefit from is more signs to where things are and steak knives for the steak house.
I think that the only amenity was a separate pool and while that is nice, it would’ve been nice to have something more. It felt like we were a step beneath Unique although Unique’s guests were primarily using the VIP area. However the app was horrendous for reservations and it was difficult to get any reservations because it either did not go through or would completely freeze.
Area around - zero to do. Basically stay on property or don’t bother.
Good value for the money. Especially like the specialty restaurants with good quality food for an all inclusive. Plenty of pools and large walkable property. Beautiful wide beach with plenty of shaded seating. They do need to have more entertainment and planned activities. In the main plaza it was the same saxophone player playing the exact same music all 5 nights. They could of had different musicians and also incorporated kids music earlier and adult music later.
The mildew smell is unbearable in the swim up rooms.
Gorgeous property, endless things to do, excellent dining options. Will definitely be returning!
Overall good trip :)
This was a great option considering it was spring break. We stayed in the adults only section and this was a fantastic. The restaurants were easy to book and the hotel room was beautiful. Only downside is the beach as there were so many party boats that is felt more like a marina. (However this is nothing the resort can do as it’s the meeting point for excursions). But we are not beach people so the pools are more us. I would definitely stay again.
The Resort is very large and there is plenty of entertainment around.
It was my first time in the Dominican Republic and I can confidently say when I go back I’m staying at the same resort! The staff was so much fun and made sure we were hyped.
The hotel was very clean and the food was great for all inclusive food. Most of the restaurants were good, some weren’t great. The staff were very nice. Rooms were very clean. It’s a great hotel for relaxing, not a party hotel.
Little better attention to detail for the rooms.
It was hard to make reservations for restaurants. And the food was undercooked everywhere. Beautiful, but not tasty
Very nice resort but i find cleaning room not that good. Shower glasses, toilet glasses doors, outside balcony never cleaned. Old coffee machine and fridge no cold enough!!!
Second time in 4 months. That says it all.
We stood for 4 days. It was a beautiful property, really relaxing. I did pick up on like a mold smell others mentioned. The food was ok, it tasted good but I felt the menu was kind of bland and nothing really stood out. The drinks were decent and I enjoyed the mamajuana they had at the bars. I didn’t like how everyone expected a tip all the time even if they did nothing but point something out to you. Most of the staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms were always cleaned, but the bed always felt wet because of the humidity. You will get lost getting to dinner so leave promptly. It is hard to get reservations so plan accordingly. If you want to go out of the resort to eat I recommend YaYas kitchen, super delicious I wish I could’ve eaten there everyday.
I came for Spring Break and have to come back again! From the drinks, the room, the environment including it room, AND THE BEACH! 10/10. Only thing I’ll recommend is bring your dinner reservations on the app prior to your stay to get a good restaurant. The buffet was 7/19, Again was 8/10, Mexican was 6/10 (margaritas were good), and Italian was 3/10…OVERALL OUR STAY WAS AMAZING
The resort is beautiful, as are the pools and beach. The food was very good. There were some disappointing things though. We were part of the Adults only. This is not an accurate description. There are some adult-only sections, however, most of the resort is Family. Even the adults-only sections will have non-adults-only guests. There are many tour boats in front of the resort, which can be very loud with their music.
Our group had a blast. Rooms were clean, staff friendly, environment was beautiful. Don’t pay attention to the poor reviews on YouTube. They’re wrong. Recommended!
The food is not great. It’s all very bland and not very tasty. The coffee is excellent, though.
Property is extremely large. Lots of sitting options . Unfortunately, not a good resort when it’s come to electricity. Poor tv service with limited to no channels and no apps to sign in. Takes almost a full day to charge your phone with there in room plugs. Towels and cloths are cheap and thin. We stayed in a swim up and they don’t provide pool towels and you only get 1 room bath towel at a time. Staff doesn’t understand English that well so have an app to translate and or speak the language. We visited resort this year in end of February.
We enjoy our entire stay at this resort. There’s several food varieties to choose from. I will definitely be coming back. The staff was amazing always very welcoming. Online services are convenient to schedule room services, or make reservation for the restaurants. The drinks were great as well. The resort it’s self is beautiful and clean.
Here for one week and the weather made our experience even more amazing! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was good (although the French restaurant was disappointing), and the drinks were strong. We will definitely consider coming back to the Lopesan.
Beautiful property
We traveled with a group of 10 people and the stay was amazing. Claribel martinez , Domingo familia, and chayri de la Rosa were amazing. The adults only pool is quiet and relaxing and was definitely worth the upgrade. Restaurants and buffet also had great food. Will be coming back.
I was not able to book any reservations for any of the restaurants.
The property itself is nice however customer service is terrible. The property is not worth the amount of money there are much better hotels. The managers and supervisors do not help to resolve issues. As a VIP expedia member we were promised a free bottle of wine, we never got it. They never checked for a room upgrade. It was terrible. I will never recommend this place to anymore.
I would definitely recommend Lopesan to a family or friend member. The food was delicious, the place was clean and the hotel guests were very friendly.
Property had plenty of space for large numbers of people. Need more lounge chairs but that’s expected! I’d stay again!
This is NOT an adult-only property as advertised. There is a pool and a few sections of restaurants that were dedicated to adults. But the swim-up pool room we paid extra for in an adults only resort had kids jumping in, and then were running up and down the halls at all hours. Buffet food was terrible! Need reservations for restaurants that are part of all inclusive, but this was not adequately described prior to arrival; which left us with most dinners being at 8/9pm. Staff were very rude when we were offered a corner room to accommodate our swim-up purchase, we requested to not be placed in a corner room, then were told it was all that was available. Wound up requesting a room switch the following day, and told we couldn’t be changed until the following day after 5pm. With this change, a manager told us we could do a late check out on our departure date at 4pm, then we were harassed from 12-2p and kicked out of the room with numerous phone calls, knocks on the door, and a person blocking our exit to take our luggage (which we refused). Staff clearly did not communicate with each other, and we were told to email their customer relations person. During check out, every individual at the desk became somehow involved with our experience, and we felt like we had to explain the situation 20 different times… to some of whom had no reason to be involved (one said they were just trying to back up their colleagues and were not management). There was no management on site they claim
This property was very nice with beautiful views. The dining options were incredible! The staff is overall very friendly but always felt like they were entitled to a tip. The resort has plenty to do to stay busy and is big enough where it did not feel crowded.
I absolutely loved this trip, this is by far the best hotel in punta Cana
I like that the property used a app for booking restaurants and ordering room services. I dislike if you are going to adult pool the towels are located at main pool side. Really enjoyed resort and adult foam party.
Beautiful property that really delivers for the price point. The resort is massive and you can spend a whole day admiring the beauty of it all. Only couple of drawbacks experienced were that the room was not sparkling clean on the day of check in (though it was spotless every other day of the trip), and that there was a bit of an odour in the room caused by the humidity (you get used to it after a day and then it’s not bad at all). Drinks are strong here relative to other all inclusives I’ve visited (for me this was a positive but might not be for everyone), food was quite good but just remember that it’s all inclusive food and not michelin star. The beach and pool were nice and lively but not exactly a party vibe if that’s what you’re looking for. Some people mention smelling fumes from boats at the beach, but I never noticed this myself. Perhaps not as tranquil as other beaches/resorts but I found it was a good balance for someone in their 20s/30s that wants something a bit less than a party resort but doesn’t want to stay somewhere boring/sleepy either.
Buffet is great! Open long hours and a lot of choices, including vegetables that I rarely get from other places! Love it and appreciate it!
10/10 recommend staying at Lopesan when visiting punta Cana! The layout, decor, and overall ambiance of the hotel was perfection. The rooms and grounds were spotless. The hotel staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. There was so much to do on the property from the pools/beach, to shopping, to the spa, to the waterpark, and multiple bars/restaurants that there was never a moment of boredom. The food was above average for an all-inclusive. The downside was that it was hard to get a reservation at the any of a la cart restaurants. Overall, our stay at Lopesan was relaxing and the perfect getaway from cold winter weather!
Very nice foods
This was a good resort. I’ll definitely be coming back to this one.
We enjoyed our stay very much! It was clean, easy to get around and very relaxing. There isn’t a lot of night life but that was ok with us!
We had a swim up room and it had an overwhelming odor of mold. They could not accommodate us with a comparable room. Our shower was not draining and water was over flowing in our bathroom area. I went to the clinic on the property to complain of bedbug bites. House keeping came to search mattress but we all know they hide during the day. The inspection was done using an iPhone flashlight. They refused to comp us anything for this inconvience and brushed us off.
I like everything except that the music is too loud and too much at the pool and at the beach from all the boats.
Loved the variety when it came to dining. The only thing that we didn’t like is the difficulty to reserve for the restaurants and that the “adult only” sections were still pretty close to kids. Overall the stay was perfect and we will definitely be back!
Property was beautiful, pools and resort were amazing. The staff was very unpleasant, looked like they were being bothered to do their job. Took forever to get drinks even though there were multiple members behind the bar. The beach was nice however, all of the boats were an eyesore and the smell of gas was overwhelming at times. Food options were plenty! The steak house and Mexican restaurants were great but the buffets were just ok.
Everything is perfect but customer service is a little bit weak
Good, but not great
The hotel was good, but we were given a different room than what we had booked (twin beds vs king bed) without being noticed when checking in. The room are spacious and the balconies great, but as there are no door to the bathroom, privacy is not really a thing if there's more than one person in the room. The resort is big, but could be a bit cleaner. Was paper in the adults only pool, trash around the resort etc. Furthermore, while the restaurants offers great service, it is still like being on a conveyor belt - everything being rushed and food served that has been kept warm for a long time (soggy fries, luke warm fish etc). And the Asian restaurant does not taste Asian at all.
I love the resort. It's beautiful and well-maintained. Everything you need is available at the resort. The only thing I disliked very much was the pillows and bed sheets. The pillows were too big and thick. The material of the bedsheet felt damped and waxy. It was an odd feeling and very uncomfortable. The bed itself was cozy.
We Loved Lopesan!
Had a lovely stay at Lopesan (adults only)! The hotel is beautiful - both the property and the rooms. It's very modern and clean. There's not much privacy in the bathrooms (no main bathroom door only a clear wall for the shower and toilet), though this seems to be the way most resorts are designed. We had a swim out room which was great to have our space when we wanted to get away from the main pools. The adults only pool was great, there was a security guard at the entrance to ensure no children were in the pool and the staff at the pool were lovely. Drinks were great - lots of options. The pools got pretty busy as most people throw towels over the chairs in the morning, so suggest to do this if you want space at any of the pools (main pool or adults pool). The adults only section is only one part of the hotel, so there were families and kids in the other areas. Though the breakfast buffet had adults only seating and the steak restaurant was also adults only. Beach was nice as well and the chairs seems more plentiful here. You can walk along the beach in both directions pretty far which was a nice option. Food was good. Lots of restaurant options, which I would recommend making a reservation for when you arrive as they fill up quickly. Overall had a great stay!
Only thing was the humidity in the rooms were crazy.
Came to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. Check-in was easy(we stayed on the adult only side). Our room was clean and beautifully decorated. They cleaned the room daily and restocked as well. No real difference from staying on the adult only side, other than no kids running around or loudness. If you are wanting to relax and chill then stay on the adult side. We ate at a different restaurant every night. The only thing I did not like is that you have to be quick to make reservations on the app. However, you can not access the app until you arrive, and no one mentioned quickly securing reservations. I was able to speak with Jose Rivera (manager) and he booked us reservations on the spot. We enjoyed the Italian and steak restaurant the most. The beach was clean and had plenty of beach chairs, but the pool area chairs are gone by 11am, even on the adult only side. This resort had SO MUCH TO DO. Literally something for everyone. Waterpark for kids, casino, adult lounge, kids lounge, bowling/arcade, shopping, pharamacy, kayaking, and even sailing. The staff speak English and Spanish, some more than others but everyone attempted to communicate with us, and welcome us. Tips are recommended if you want fast and consistent individualized attention, but everything is accessible to grab your self. I will say, this place is HUGE so bring comfortable walking shoes.
Hotel is nice but the staff is not really accommodating at all. They don’t ask you if you need anything
Staff was terrible…not hospitable…food was horrid
We purchased the adults only section and we were upgraded to Unique. The Unique experience was incredible, we will definitely only do unique if we go back. The food was amazing and the property was well kept.
This property and adult area is not adults only. Kids were running up and down the halls ways. Kids running around Woke us up every morning. Guess service said there was nothing they could do and hung up on me. Management (Lenny front desk manager-horrible) and staff is not friendly, not professional, no customer service skills and don’t speak English. We won’t be back for a 3rd year. We will go back to sandals.
Beautiful property. Loved the swim up suite
Great staff, buffet and dining options were awesome.
The resort itself was beautiful. The food however in our opinion was terrible. We will not be back.
The grounds were beautiful and very well kept. You can tell staff works hard to keep the resort clean. Buffet food was not the best. It was often cold but you could usually find something that was decent. The restaurants that require reservations were amazing and they have a good variety! Would recommend reserving those every night for dinner. Pools were very nice but hard to find a chair. Have to get up in the morning and throw a towel down to get a spot. Beach was great lows if seating available. Overall great time!
Beautiful place ! I cannot complain about anything ! The staff are super friendly ! Food was great , even the room service was great ! I’m already booking my next stay !
I had a blast! So peaceful and relaxing
Very clean & nice
Domino at the Adults pool was excellent as well as many others, too many to mention Pinky was a lot of fun as well, part of the entertainment crew Great job!, well done
I like the place and the staffs were friendly and helpful.
Very nice place! Food could be a little better
Everything was in the resort, so no need to go off of it. We enjoyed our stay in the adults only area (however there were still children in the room next to us). We would recommend and would go back.
The hotel was nice, the pools and the beach were amazing! The food was horrible everywhere we ate. Hotel was also short on staff! Also this is the 2nd time I stay at a VIP property and we did not get any upgrades even when asked! There were rooms available because I asked but they refuse to give you a free upgrade.
The property was beautiful and very well maintained. It truly felt like paradise!

Customer front service was horrible!!! But restaurants employess were great!
