Carcassone city break
The apartment was spacious. 1 bedroom, and sofa bed in living/kitchen area. Very clean and great air-conditioning. Kitchen/cooking area was basic but adequate for a short stay. Reception was welcoming and spacious. Staff were very pleasant and nothing was any bother. Breakfast was self service with good choices of cheese, bread and pastries. Parking was reasonable at 10 euros per night in a secure under building car park. The hotel was very close to the "old city" and the city centre. Both within easy walking distance.
Very good value for an overnight stay
great location to check out the fortifications at night. Place itself was fairly basic: I would stay away from their breakfast and the room we had smelled like old standing water
Self catering in a fabulous location.
In a fabulous location, right next to the walled town. Accommodation basic but had everything you needed for a short stay. We were able to borrow a kettle and use the laundry facilities. Cooking facilities not very good and reception closed between 12 and 3 so no check in during these times. Reception staff helpful but limited language. Parking available at extra cost.
This is a great choice for Cite. It’s crazy cheap new building. Cheap furniture but pretty clean spacious. Breakfast is 3 euro it is same as 11 Euro breakfast. Coffee machine. Great valley. Next to la Cite. A bit harder to go into town
Good choice
Excellent situation adjacent to ramparts and walking distance from town. Pleasant large rooms with basic cooking facilities.
Great
Great service, location, and rooms.
I would not stay here again!
The only good thing about this hotel is that it is a super close walk into the Carcassonne wall. When we checked in, the lady at the counter was not very nice. We had three rooms in this hotel, and one of the rooms wreeked of cigarette smoke. I went to the counter to complain, and she reluctantly gave me another room and kept asking if I used the bathroom in the room that smells like cigarette. The air conditioning did not work in all three of the rooms and I went down to discuss it and she told me some BS story that they all had to be on at the same time to work, and that it was cool enough outside and just open the window. The windows have no screens so bugs come flying in at night with a light, but it was so sweltering in the room that I had to go buy a fan and leave the windows open all night and listen to the loud cars drive by and bugs flying i’ll my room. there were stains in the ceiling and mold in the bathroom. The mattresses were sitting on low pedestals which were almost on the floor. The shower and room were dingy and there was almost no water pressure. The mattress just had a flat sheet laying over the top of it and no top sheet. A good attitude goes a long way and the receptionists attitude fell super short. If I had it to do all over again, I would not have stayed here.
Went to drop bags off , closed at 2pm no answer to bell or phone - ended up booking another hotel as it looked awful also
Very good place
Top notch hotel.
The hotel is properly looked after and well cleaned. The location is excellent, close to the citadel itself and only a 15 minute walk to the town centre. I would definitely recommend this hotel for cleanness, comfort and location.
Wow! Talk about great value for your money! Great space, great location, great front desk service! Top notch! Very impressed.
We had arranged ahead of time for a late check in, but I had not been sent the instructions for how to retrieve our keys. When I called the emergency number, I was rudely informed that I was an idiot for expecting anyone to help me at 10pm, when reception closed at 7 and I was out of luck (my paid reservation was not going to be honored). Then 5 minutes later, mysteriously, I got a text with the instructions and got into our very large, sparsely furnished 2 story apartment. There was a double futon couch in the main room, a small kitchen with a table, 4 chairs. Upstairs, was the bathroom and master bedroom- no windows in either, and it was very hot, but the a/c unit was pouring out water as well as cool air, so we had to turn it off or risk ruining the floors. We sure were not going to call the emergency number again!! The location was great, so close to the Carcassonne walled city! The breakfast in the morning was also very nice. They were happy to let us leave our luggage, but reception closed from 12-2 for lunch and we would have been unable to retrieve our bags during that time.
The internet connection is good. Well located, 8 min walk from the medieval city of carcasonne . Other than that, unfortunately, everything was bad. This shouldn't be classidied as a hotel. It is more of a guest house. I took their more expensive rooms. It was old and run down. Certainly did not look lole the pictures (which were probably taken 20 years ago). The furniture seems to have been purchaed at a flea market. In regards to the reception I arrived a little early so my room was not reay. That was fine as i was able to leave my bags in the lobby (they did not have a closed off room for luggage). When i came back at 15:00, the hotel was closed (ive never seem a hotel close down). I had to come back. The clerk forgot to tell me that they close between lunch and 15:30. She mentioned it when i made my check in when thenroom.was ready at 1530. Not sure why they close for half the day.... In the room. Again, very old and not really clean. They had a small safe, only large enough for a passport and camera . Was bot able to put my tablet in it. I left my passport and keys but them found put that it was not working anyways....juat not perperly properly maintained. On the bright side, the bed , although old, was confortable.
Bike Friendly
Great Stay. Arrived late; got clear instruction from Audrey on how to get the key. Allowed (thanks!) to keep the bicycle in the 1-bedroom apartment. Apt is clean and spacious. Highly recommended.
Smooth and easy transaction
Was on ok stay, just the WIFI needs to be improved.
France problem with train make dificult to be in time 800 pm to you hotel. Was close and very frustrating thanks to a guest to help us to get in. We are aware from other people the same thing happening , that makes the existence poor.
I liked the way the property is set out, and the helpfulness of the staff.
I liked the spaciousness of the apartment, and it was very clean. We also enjoyed the breakfast. The location was good as well. Was surprised that there were no towel racks or hooks in the bathroom.
Adonis was a pretty basic experience, but it was fine for one night and the location was perfect for exploring the old walled city. The room was a good size and had a little kitchen, which we didn't use. The bed was large enough but the mattress was very thin, making the bed pretty hard. Very nice breakfast, included in our price. Paid extra for parking, but they let us keep the car there well after checkout time while we went to exploring. Much appreciated.
The appartment was very clean and tidy and overall in good condition. Breakfast was good. Only fault was lack of a kettle in the room unless you acquired one from reception, at a cost, i presume. Staff freindly and very helpful. Close proximity to the old city a plus, with a short but ascending path to city gates. Value for money really.
The rooms are big, I had enough space for me and my kids. The things I did not like is the fact that the kitchen was not working properly (not able to cook), and there is no soap to wash the dishes (it has to be purchased at the front desk).
Good apart hotel and very reasonably priced.
Hotel was great and accommodation was good. We had problems with rooms but solved by good attention by staff. Hotel a little out of village but no problems really as it was also very near medieval cite.
Couldn't ask for more
Amazingly quiet and with even more amazing air conditioning! Excellent location. Great breakie, too! Clean, comfortable, with additional perqs!
Good location. Comfortable bed. Apartment was clean and had everything you needed for simple meal preparation. Fridge in kitchen handy for wine.
Nice place for a longer stay
Nice place with a kitchenette and a slight view of La Cité. There is an outdoor area equipped with lounging chairs. It’s a short walk to get within the walls of La Cité and a bit of a long walk to the train station. There isn’t much directly near by. The room was comfortable and spacious. It was a bit noisy though like constant electrical humming and the vent in the bathroom.
The location of this apartment complex is excellent, 5 min from The Aude gate. But the staff (while friendly) were really incompetent. Forgot my wake up call, booked a taxi with a 15 euro markup. No cleaning staff during your stay and no washing fluid or wash cloth for kitchen. Really not great. It was cheap, but no extr thought of any kind for the guests.
Pros: good price/quality ratio, kitchen, bathtub, air conditioning, location Cons: -
The room was smoky. The town was nice but quiet.
Great Location and Spacious but Sparse.
Fantastic quiet location near to river Aude and with lovely views to the, lit up at night, Carcassonne castle and with a Castle entrance nearby, although closed due to fallen tree on this occassion, but Barbican entrance, possibly an easier route, not too far away. Room was warm with aircon and reception friendly and efficient although €9.50 for breakfast wasn't too tempting. The main room was large, but lacking in furniture so felt strange with a lot of empty space - the sofa bed was comfortable to sleep in but terrible to sit on, thankfully the dining chairs were comfortable. The kitchen unit was small, but useful, but there were a few issues with the light bulb blown at the entrance and the light/fan hob hood switch also broken. The bathroom had a heater which worked well and the main room as well as bedroom had TVs, although it was not possible to set version original and one remote probably needed new batteries. Overall the room was good value for a 2 night stay, but with a little attention it could be special and somewhere where you would want to stay longer.
Pros: - Clean, very large room - Location - Price - Some of the staff Cons: - The rest of the staff - Reception work hours - Kitchen cleaning kit has to be purchased - No curtains on windows
Units are individual studio apartments surrounding a central patio/walkway, lovely Continental-style breakfast available. Literally at the foot of the medieval walled-city of Carcassonne, one can walk up stairs to the lower curtain wall or around the city walls to the main gate/front entrance to Carcassonne in 15-20 minutes. An excellent restaurant named Le Jardin D'Ete can be found about 7-10 minutes walk from the Adonis Carcassonne, near the Medieval Bridge.
Very basic
Very poor would not recommend this to anyone yes I will return To Carcassonne but not to there
Lovely place. Friendly staff. Will definitely be back.
Convenient to the medieval city
Nice and spacious. Comfortable with a useful kitchen. Convenient to the walled city. WiFi was good.
Best location Hotel in Carcassonne.
It was a very old building ( like a monastery) very typical of Carcassonne. Room, beth and bathroom very clean. Checking in without problem. Only two pillows for a double queen bed . Towels were very small and slim. Location is the best just across the street of the cité.
Better choices to stay in Carcassonne
While the hotel is close to the walled fortress it is still away from from the main town. I would not stay here again but her rather closer to the town. We were in the last room down the hall and had no WiFi. The room was rather dusty and there was dirt on the bathroom floor. The “kitchenette” was lacking many items including a kettle and coffee maker. On the plus side, the rooms are huge. We had a separate bedroom and living room. The place is a bit worn and dated but very spacious. It is an easy walk uphill through the back gate of the walled fortress/Cité There is a nice outdoor patio with lots of tables at the reception area and many people bring food and wine and eat out here.
Overnight in Carcassonne
Large room with equipped kitchen area. Bed was on the hard side, and extra pillows would have been appreciated. The castle is a terrific place to visit.
Recommend
Check in is awful. We had to line up and wait for 40 min to check in, cause they start at 3 pm. Overall, clean, quiet, convenient place, very good location, 3 min walk to Side, delicious breakfast (not include, pay additional).
Even though it was a non smoking room you could still smell the old smoke. Location was great.
Great location
Excellent location for the centre of town (15 minute's walk) and the Cité (5minutes away). Spotlessly clean and comfy bed.
A Poor Choice
One night here was enough. A poorly designed room layout made no sense and is inconvenient. A bathroom upstairs and a toilet downstairs, which had no hand washing facility is just one example. Low quality furnishings and haphazard fixtures and fittings means that this hotel does not deserve a 3 star rating and needs a large investment to improve its quality.
Very rude and unaccomodating. We needed to change our reservation by one day and they would not allow under any condition and charged us the full amount.
Steps, steps, steps and a room too stuffy left me sleepless in Carcassone. The stairs up to the enter reception then down onto a terrace and down again to the walkway to my room get annoying when you have lots of heavy luggage. Lucky my room was in the ground floor or then I really would have been grumpy. My room was of a generous size and clean and tidy but the bathroom only had a hand held shower nozzle in a bathtub and this was a diss appointment, but the biggest let down was a joy and stuff room with no aircon and I was left sleepless on my final night. Could be a lot better
Great location for visiting the medieval city. Booked for three people, only two mugs and we had to ask where the extra towels were to be found. No kettle and the electric hob extremely slow, if staying for more than one night the lack of kitchen equipment would be a problem. The room was very basic, beds not particularly comfortable but clean. Breakfast was very expensive so we chose not to having compared with local places. The list of instructions regarding the condition and cleanliness in which the appartment was to be left was quite alarming! It suited us for one night because of it's location. I do feel that when booking through hotels.com I am often allocated the least pleasing room, over the garage entrance as in this case, on the main road or by the elevators, Are you aware of this?
Excellent location to citadel 5-10 mins walk to old city center nice lobby nice out door seating area and parking friendly reception staff especially the young girl who was bubby and engaging studio apt basic but functional with a/c bathrooms need a little attention hand held shower head putting a bracket on wall to hold shower would make a.diffrence only real down side is the beds mattress harder and more solid than the medieval fortress be aware if flying from Glasgow reception is closed.between 12-3 Glasgow flight lands at 1145 transfer shuttle will.get u there for.12.30 but u won't be able to get.in to the building u require a code.which ull get.at 3 3.30 when u check in so u can be stuck out side in any weather easy solution would be to give these guest code.in advance.and at least they can sit in reception or out side get a drink or use the facilities if they've been traveling for a.while all in all for what we paid it covered all the bases especially location for a 4 day stay
Perfect location for the old town
Right at the foot of the incline to the medieval village the position is excellent. As you reach the entrance you see the brightly coloured yellow concentric circles at a perfect angle. Room was basic but adequate but for the price it was excellent value. The young lady at reception was extremely helpful and her English was impeccable.
Adonis Carcassonne
Unit was very roomy. Layout unusual with toilet on main floor and bedroom on second. Uphill but walking distance to La Cite.
strategically situated to vist the City, ten minute walk to the back door. laced walking shoes recommended. À convenience store 2 minutes down the street.
Deceptively spacious
An unusual looking building, fairly austere from the outside, but concealing an excellent facility with some of the the most spacious apartments you will come across. Also it is very close to the castle, within a short walk to a back door into the Cite and all it beholds.
I have stayed at this hotel previously and I use it because it offers a measure of comfort and proximity with the Cité for a fair price
Beautiful Carcassonne!
It was a great weekend. The hotel Adonis did exactly what it said on the tin. Great location providing you don’t need the train station, but great for the old and new city. Reception was very helpful and helped printing off boarding passes and calling a taxi . Probably the only down side was folks seemed to smoke just outside the entrance to the back and the front and as we were on the ground floor the smoke smell filtered through. But all in all great weekend!
Great location, very practical. Excellent price.
Nice stay near old town
Good place to explore Carcassonne, close to the old town. Reception is open certiain hours in the morning and afternoon only but that was not a problem for our stay. We got a flat with separate bedroom which was nice. Facing the street which can be noisy when cars go by but not many do in the night so all fine. There was a kitchen box which lets you make quick things like tea, coffee, salads, etc. Just have in mind that if you want to use the kitchen, you need to purchase a kitchen kit from reception (5 EUR) with sponge, washing up liquid, etc. (or bring / buy from a shop) as you have to clean the kitchen box before leaving, otherwise there is a 25 EUR cleaning fee. Staff was polite and helpful. I would recommend for a stay in Carcassonne.
Lacklustre place to stay
Advertised as a hotel/residence, definitely not a hotel and the facilities in the room left a lot to be desired for a self catering holiday. Room did not have a kettle only a 5 litre saucepan and 2 barely working hotplates, boiling water for a cup of tea or coffee took forever. Cooking facilities consisted of abovementioned saucepan and a beaten up frying pan a wooden spoon but nothing to get anything out of the frying pan with. Staff were indifferent to say the least, one removed my washing from the dryer to do her own which was totally inappropriate as laundry facilities were only available during the limited reception hours and as she lived in could have done hers at any time. Also had a problem with the room heating system and after several attempts to have someone help me for 2 days, ended up managing to get it working by myself. All in all, not the happiest of stays and would not recommend the Adonis Carcassonne to anyone who is planning more than an overnight stay.
Great Location
This apartment was amazing value for money. The location was fantastic for a visit to Carcassonne. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable.
Hotel was great. Fantastic position for visiting medieval city. Plenty of room and quite comfortable. We had 4 nights paid in advance but our room was not serviced at all. No clean towels were brought in and the kitchen tidy was not emptied during our stay
Great option
Great experience overall. Location is top notch - 10 minutes walk from the Citadel and roughly 16 minutes from the city centre. Our room was great and the only two things that we missed was the electric kettle (I mean...it's 10EUR to buy one, common guys) and the total absence of wifi. The latter one is especially annoying this day and age but having the general poor GSM connection in the city/region in mind it was hard to stay connected.
good quiet location but near to all you want
good short stay ,quiet but clean and tidy apartment
Great location just by the old city wall and good value. Recommended.
Unfriendly staff and odd lobby hours
Behind the desk, you find staff complaining about the guests. The hotel lobby is closed many times when you will need it. Perhaps to drop off luggage, to get a cup of coffee before an early train or a late arrival. The guests are considered an inconvenience to the staff. How peaceful it would be with no guests, lost to the fact that there is no business without guests. The rooms are OK, but beds are uncomfortable. The town is lovely though expect more of this treatment. I went to get a cup of coffee. When I spoke in English, they told me they were closed. I was switching to my basic French when I was shooed out of a bustling restaurant. As I sat outside with my group, she came out to the square to offer beverages. Don't expect to feel welcome, in some places. Sans clue where their income originates.
Everything was fine other than the room had a bit of an odor - possibly coming from the plumbing.
Friendly Staff, nice apt, good location/breakfast
Staff at check in was friendly and helpful. We settled in to room (actually an apartment) then walked the short distance to the Old City of Carcassonne. The hotel was well situated for that. The Old City was a pleasant surprise, quite alive not like a museum that closes at night. THere were restaurants and shops open with a lovely atmosphere in a beautiful setting. We ate our nice breakfast (paid separately) on the patio.
Carcassone
We just went for one day to visit the castle. The hotel is on walking distance to the castle. It is a very nice, we got a suite, big, clean and confortable. The only downsides were no wifi in the rooms only in the lobby and the patio, the tv in the bedroom was not connected, there was not outlet bear to it. The tv in the living room had French language only but overall the hotel and room was super nice
Well positioned
Nice convenient location ideal for a short break.good for small families & self catering breaks
Clean but spartan.
Hotel close to walled city. Short walk but a steep climb requiring some fitness. Clean but minimal comforts. However frig and microwave work well and staff are friendly and helpful. No nearby shops to speak of.
Good location, basic amenities but a bit Spartan. It met our needs however and I would probably stay here again.
Good Location Accommodation
Stayed for two nights, two adults and two children. Rooms are basic but spacious and having a small kitchenette with a fridge is very useful. It's within easy walking distance to the old city and the Castle, that's well worth a visit.
Great location to get to the Castle
The staff weren't friendly, they thought they were doing you a favour for helping you,the room was very basic and you need a map to get to it.
Great accommodations near Cité
Clean and good for 2 of us plus 2 7 yr olds. Well airconditioned pretty Helpful staff. Nice breakfast
Nice stop over
Basic,clean,friendly staff,nice breakfast,great for a stop over on a long journey
Excellent value-for-money at foot of Citadelle
2nd stay, this time in studio apartment. Furniture and crockery quite basic but everything works and wifi is very good for work. Breakfast available but didn't try it because I had a kitchenette. Lovely courtyard where guests can lounge and sip drinks, and within walking distance of everything. Easy free parking on the street but the complex also has an underground car park.
Disappointing
Disappointed with duplex apartment a bit sad looking and soleless
Great value for money apartment
Booked a studio but got a whole apartment to myself. Huge space. The sofa-bed would however be tight for 4 people to sit on. Very basic furniture but in good condition. Excellent location and easy to find despite the one-way street system. Close to river for walks and jogging. Did not try the breakfast because of available kitchenette. Great inner courtyard and easy access from street through separate doors (with code) as well as reception.
Would be DANGEROUS during an emergency exit!
Good: Just a few minutes walk to the old town/ castle which is one of the most interesting things to do in Carcassone. The room was spacious and clean. We did not use the kitchen so I can't comment on that. Bad : Finding our room was somewhat of a challenge. You go into a wing that has some doors with numbers on them. There are othe doors with nothing at all on them. You open one of these to find a dark hallway with other doors. It's all very confusing. When we walked out,of our room, the hall light would not come on until you were about half way down the hall. Once through the door at the end of your hall, you were in an area with some marked and unmarked doors. In an emergency, this could be DANGEROUS! You have no idea where the exit is. This would never pass safety standards in the States. For this reason, I could Not recommend this hotel.
Location and staff great but facilities not so.
Great location just outside the city walls. Quiet at night and an easy walk from the airport bus.Spotlessly clean and a modern fresh feel to the room. It was studio with a small cooker and fridge but no cutlery, no kettle to make a drink, one plate, The bed had the smallest, flatest pillows ever and was very noisy! When you left the room the emergency lighting was not working so you had to walk down a pitch black corridor. That said there was loads of hot water, clean towels and free shower gel. No hair dryer. Oh and the WIFI did not work. Most of the time it was switched off then when it was on it was so slow that connection took forever. The staff were lovely. Charming and tried to help.
Clean, basic and well located
Quick 3 day trip with the girlfriend. Room was big and clean but sparse. Very basic but priced accordingly. Friendly staff were helpful and welcoming Only one issue, there is no shower attachment on the wall so had to hold the shower over my head when showering. Not a big issue but a bit annoying.
Castle door steps...
Great place, kissing distance to the castle! We got a family room with a kitchenette & it was considerably larger then I'd expected compared to a lot of places we'd stayed in France. I would have gave 5 stars however the extremely small Jacuzzi wasn't working properly and was cold. Outside that great place and friendly staff.
Great deal in a great location
Good hotel in fantastic location. Nice staff, spacious room, 5 min walk from old city wall AND a view of the old city from the room. Great place for the price!
Hotel review - Carcassonne
Close to the old city - great! Room too hot on arrival - open all windows! Had to seek Tea/coffee eqpt. No jug to boil water, until supplied with a coffee machine - readily supplied on asking. No utensil cleaning gear supplied. Good off street parking zone. Usual European problem of 2 x Single beds to make a double - need to be locked together!
I found the hotel to be basic but in most other respects perfect. It was very close to the castle and a very pleasant river walk. Restaurants were within reasonable proximity and there were lovely riverside parks adjacent to the hotel. All in all I had a very pleasant stay.
Unloved.
Room cavernous but unbelievably sparsely furnished - just a broken sofa bed too dangerous to sit on. Kitchen totally ill equipped - all on shelves so high we couldn't reach any crockery, the only saucepan, microwave. Cutlery filthy. Luckily we had picnic gear and a kettle with us.
good
like this hotel for location to the main fortress and comfort but big note: closes from 12 to 3 so can't check in or even have your luggage stored while waiting. Taxis are hard to come by and train station doesn't have lockers. Otherwise room was very spacious and comfortable. Front desk was very friendly.
Amazing Hotel! The only thing that failed, were the hours of check-in, why start the 3:00 pm and we had to walk with the bags from the 12:00, because the hotel was closed, and nobody answer the bell. In reception, nobody told us the Jacuzi and the breakfast, but we forgot this when we saw the room.
Clean but basic hotel in excellent location
We had apartment rooms which were spacious but very sparsely furnished and equipped - sink (but no washing up liquids or cloths, for example), a few pans, microwave. The toilet, irritatingly, was downstairs with no washbasin, so you had to trek upstairs to the bathroom to wash your hands afterwards. No daily cleaner, so not like a hotel. The shower was not attached to the wall. Breakfast costs 9 Euros extra - so we just went to the bakers instead. On the plus side, it was MUCH cheaper than other hotels close by, had a superb location at the foot of the Citadel, a nice outside area to sit in, and the staff were friendly and helpful. So as long as you are happy with a clean basic place to sleep it's just fine, and outstanding value for money. We found free parking on the road outside every time, no problem. NB: Be careful with dates when checking in! Key-cards are automated and the desk is NOT MANNED AFTER 10pm (or during lunch hours!). We got in late on our last night and found our room keys had stopped working, and had to beg help off French guests to make the phone call to drag a staff member out of bed.
Clean room that is overpriced and underfurnished.
overpriced, underfurnished room. It was clean and acceptable, but the downstairs shared space in our room was laughably bad -- small, cheap furniture that was uncomfortable. Decorations were literally a poster tacked to the wall.
Carcasonne Family Trip
One night stay with family whilst travelling through the area, the hotel is generally quite nice, the front desk staff were all very helpful too, but the bedroom was grubby at best and full of flies, we spent 15 minutes swatting and chasing what seemed like dozens of flies out of the room on arrival, the walls in the room seemed grubby too, dated or undecorated for some time, the desk in the room was badly marked and the small kitchen area appeared dated and unloved also! I know its a 'cheaper' hotel and we certainly weren't expecting a 5 star experience, but it was well below all of our expectations...
Great exterior, Interior needs work
Hotel was located right next to the castle and was just a short walk up the hill to get to the castle. The exterior of the hotel was very nicely appointed, but the rooms were in need of updating. finishes were not in line with the costs for the room. Beds were hard, pillows were foam, bathroom was dirty, and carpet was indoor/outdoor carpet glued to the concrete. Minimal furnishings and sparse on pictures.
Great location to La Cites
5 minutes walk to one of the entrance to La Cites. Need own transportation. Helpful front desk staffs.
Disappointing - not clean, equipment did not work
Well situated property but the rooms were not cleaned, carpets stained and bath seals broken. A/c and fridge never worked
basic budget hotel, good for groups
This is a perfectly decent budget place to stay but don't expect hotel amenities. It is a good location to explore the old town, was spacious, safe and felt new. However, shower was a hand held shower head only, no bedside tables, and wifi can only be used by one person in the room. The rooms however have a decent amount of space and a fridge and kitchen area which is useful.
Close to Citadel
Good hotel, very close to pedestrian entrance Porte D'Aude of the citadel. Only fly in the ointment was the loud white noise at night, it was as if someone had switched on a generator or something. Pity because we liked the rest the hotel had to offer. Maybe it was only our two rooms, 5 & 6.
Close to Le Cite
Stayed for two evenings and we were perfectly satisfied with the location and the staff behind the desk. Two cavils one more annoying than the other.Firstly the handheld shower in the bathroom, how difficult would it be to fix it to the wall? More annoying though was the fact that the Hotel was closed between 1pm and 3pm!! Our flight landed around midday which meant we had to walk the streets with our luggage in the rain which, obviously, was very inconvenient.
Great value
Good value for money.Excellent location.
Great location...
For the price it was very good but I had a special rate it seemed very sparten though it was 'roomy'. the outside looks more upmarket than the inside. It was good value for me.
Great Location-Tired Facilities-Poor Value
The room was a sufficient size and the location is great. Very close to the walled city. The staff are very nice and accommodating. The condition of the room was very disappointing, it was dated and not very clean. The floors were sticky, the bathtub was not clean and what they called the kitchen had no amenities what so ever. I feel if they did a good cleaning and some updating of furniture it would make a huge difference. A very "tired" facility.
Dirty and sparsely supplied. Would not recommend.
Well placed accommodation
The accommodation is basic but adequate, the sitting area in the lounge is not comfortable enough, probably because the sofa doubles as a bed. The building is a bit school dormish but we liked the availability of some self catering. Perfect setting for old city
Adonis Carcassonne Résidence la Barbacane | Hotel in Carcassonne | Travala.com
We got to the premises around 1:45pm. The place was closed, there was no way to leave our luggage. We left the place, returned later, but due to this situation we missed the castle entrance deadline. Wasted trip.
