AC Hotel by Marriott San Diego Downtown Gaslamp Quarter

The hotel was nice, clean, modern, comfortable, etc. the male bartender we had was nice and gave recommendations on where to go and eat. All the staff were friendly, nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. My only complaint is I wish the ice maker was bigger and easier to use. Other than that it was a great stay.

I enjoyed my stay at the AC hotel. Even though its near by gaslamp the noise was hardly noticeable and it was walking distance to many restaurants and entertainment.

Read up about the location, it's in the HEART of the Gaslamp. That means it's very LOUD. They had white noise machines and ear plugs, and were very welcoming. They had security at night in addition to needing to tap your key to open the front doors at night. Service was excellent given all the staff has to deal with. We also left something in the safe, they kept it until we could retrieve it -- everything was as it was left! Would recommend.

Nice hotel close to everything

The hotel is nice and close to the restaurants. Also walking distance from the convention center and the seaport village. Also walking distance is the bus stop. There is bus going the airport. However, it can be noisy at night due to the bars close by. But they added a noise machine in the room which can help drown the noise from outside.

Smelly pillow/pillow cases/bed fabrics. Fridge was noisy all night even though we turned it off so made us hard to sleep. Rain shower head didn't work. Our room was right next to the employee storage room so it's quite noisy even in the middle of night.

We arrived after midnight when the area around outside was hopping! I appreciated the security and extra courteous workers that night and the next morning. Great location and fun experience.

New and well appointed property. The breakfast was really excellent, Shay (the chef and manager) was super friendly and helpful, Kevin (the cook clearly took pride in his dishes) and Sylvia (the server) made sure we where taken care of. The only downside was the valet parking being a little confusing when we approved but after that they where great as well.

So friendly and helpful

We felt very welcome and had everything we needed. The room was clean, and we really appreciated the earplugs from the front desk. (The room wasn't loud, but it is downtown and we did visit on a weekend.) Close to so many restaurants and also a reasonable walk from a waterfront. We'll definitely stay here next time we're in San Diego!

We just stayed here for one night so to not have drive home from our company party. The valet (only means of parking at the hotel) did not kick things off to a great start. All of the spaces were taken leaving us to just stop in the middle of the road, cars honking, and the valet didn't have much of a sense of urgency. He was kind though, and told us how to find the hotel around the corner. Check-in was super fast. The room was very modern and clean. They provide a white noise machine which is genius in the downtown area! Our party started at 6 so we thought we'd hang out at the bar until it was time to walk over there. Found out the bar doesn't open until 5 so we ended up going elsewhere. Upon check-out we asked if it was possible for them to hang onto our luggage while we had breakfast and they did so without question. Picking up the car from valet was quick and easy and all the guys were very personable. We intend to go to Shoot! House again and i will definitely choose this hotel for our stay.

The Hotel was very nice & clean. The room was exceptional. Staff was friendly. The room upgrade had a beautiful view of the Gaslamp.

Great stay n convenient location to everything gaslamp

In the heart of Gaslamp district except not sound proofed or well thought out. Rooms are minimalist in style.

Perfectly located close to the pier and the park Quiet and the breakfast is outstanding

so close to the venue and had a great experience there. The room was wonderful and we loved every minute of it.

Stay was great, the only issues we had was with the plumbing and cleanliness. The toilet sink and shower kept backing up. Even on arrival. I had this issue on a previous stay as well. It is probably a plumbing problem. Also the shower had some mildew which wasnt bad but still could have been cleaned better. Other than that our stay was perfect. I wish they kept Techno beso the upstairs restaurant/ bar open year round.

Close to main restaurants, bars, clubs in Gaslamp’s downtown

The location and the staff were amazing.

Near lots of night life. Close to a lot of food places. Even tho it was literally next to a night club we had no issues with noise. They provide a white noise machine in the room which WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED!! The bed was super comfortable. Everything else was great too. Room is a bit small but worked out for us.

Best thing was that the hotel was nice enough to accommodate a huge issue we had with our room. They immediately moved us to a new room. Very pleasant staff.

Property was nice staff was great, wish I did a little more research on that specific street the hotel is located on because it’s pretty rowdy/ lots of nightlife . Either way we had a good stay

Great location fun hotel

We enjoyed our stay and the property was very clean and very convenient location. However, we went to enjoy the music up on the rooftop and there appeared to be way too many rules that we were not made aware of. Didn’t really get to enjoy the rooftop area

We had a terrible experience when my employee went out for a drink and when she tried to get back her key was not working. She went to the front desk and asked for a key but the guy there refused to do anything because her name was not on the reservation. She tried to call us but our phones were in a silent mode and we were sleeping so he told her that she can't get in. She was desperate as she had no place to go. She asked him to come and knock our door and he refused. Finally she sneaked in the elevator and another guest helped her to come up and knock our door and wake us up. I went down and then he agreed to let her in. I would fire emploees like him in a second!

Check in was super slow. It took the stuff over 20 min to checkin.

Very shiek and modern hotel. Rooms are well kept and very stylish. The location is absolutely the best part. Everything for a night out in gaslamp is within a few steps from the hotel. The only issue I had was that there was no general parking available only valet. We had to find public parking to stay overnight which wasn’t too bad cause they’re right around the corner

Stayed at this hotel because of past experiences, but this one was terrible. Very dirty. Moved to a new room and still very dirty with hair in the sink the following day my room was not properly cleaned. Only new towels given the area was horrible. Very disappointing, unable to move out because it was prepaid

This location was perfect for what we wanting while visiting San Diego CA. There’s a lot of food and entertainment options in walking distance. The night life in everything if you come to party! The clubs are in walking distance as well. We recommend and will stay again! The staff was anmazing! Enjoyed our stay!

The pile of toenails in the bathroom and by the entrance were a bit gross. The hotel responded quickly and sent environmental services immediately. The issue was resolved quickly but made us question the perceived cleanliness of the room. The bartender was great, the front desk friendly. Know that if you stay here you are right in the middle of a street that is a party street. It is loud and bustling. We were also disappointed that the rooftop bar is closed indefinitely. The pool is open but there is no service at the top.

The property has invested in energy efficient lighting. Unfortunately it turns off every 2.5 minutes if you are not up and moving. Even the desk lamp. This made working on computer and have zoom meeting extremely difficult and frustrating. The room I had had no window light- as window was up against a wall

Clean and nice hotel. Only complaints were we asked several times for fresh towels and never received any. Also the CO2 and fire alarms kept blinking throughout the night. Told front desk staff but nothing was done. Still a great stay for a couples getaway

Wish pool was open all night in SD Downtown.

A good central location. We lucked out with a quiet room in this busy downtown core. Roof pool was nice for wading and cooling off.

I like that it was convenient to many shops and dining. I didn’t like that the rooms didn’t have a microwave nor a refrigerator.

The hotel is right in the middle of the Gas Lamp district. Once the car was parked it is easy walking to everything.

Extremely loud. The service was excellent. The beds were okay, but you could tell they were not new. Hotel itself was fine, but the location was terrible. Outside of the hotel was extremely filthy and loud.

We loved this hotel. The location was perfect. No need for a Uber or taxi. Lots of choices for dining and going out. The noise wasn’t bad for us. Your in galslamp. It’s a busy place. The beds are just ok but it was clean and convenient. We will probably stay again.

Arrived late, street closed, not a fan of walking with luggage through downtown streets. Other than that great place to stay.

Nice hotel. Bathroom could have been cleaner. The toilet seat & seat cover was not attached very well, and was loose & moved around when sitting down. The air conditioning took several days to cool the room off, but was working correctly as we had the maintenance man come to check on it. He was very helpful & kind. The noise canceling machine was very useful for the loud partying all night & into the early morning hours. The noise was still heard, but the machine made it easier to sleep.

Lovely stay. Parking is a bit difficult to find however detailed instructions on parking sent from property when booking makes it easier to find.

It was a great stay on the Main Street downtown!

location you are in the heart of Gaslamp so very convenient to walk anywhere you need to go. But with that being said you are in the heart of Gaslamp so lots of homeless and the streets are not very well maintained. Also this hotel has a night club on top of it Saturday night we couldn’t sleep until after 2:00 am when the club closed.It is extremely loud they put sound machines in the room but not very helpful. Thankfully Saturday was the only issue we checked out Tuesday and the rest of the nights were fine. This is a newer hotel so it’s nicely decorated and clean. We had limited staff interaction so can’t comment on that. Parking is $58 a night and the street where the hotel is located closes down for cars after 12pm so the valet moves to the next street it was a bit complicated to navigate the night we checked in. This hotel is good for someone young and wanting to stay close to night life. If you want something relaxing I would look elsewhere.

Be careful extending your stay.

Had to extend stay two different times during a one week stay. Last two days received no house keeping service. Second day I extended I advised them no one came and to please make sure they come today. Come back that evening and no house keeping yet again. Ask front desk and they said everyone was gone and nothing they can do. I explained this was second day in a row and asked to switch rooms. First she said they were sold out, I checked online and they were not. So I asked again and she said there’s nothing she could do. Several hundred a night for no house keeping even after they were made aware and all I got offered was a free drink at the bar. Asked for a manager and there wasn’t one and she wouldn’t contact one. Poor training and poor service. I’ve stayed here numerous times recently for work and was extremely disappointed by the handling of the situation. I was told since I booked through Hotels.com it was basically my fault they cannot do anything, the previous night I booked through their app. Never been treated like this, like I was a lesser guest because I booked a lower rate than I could through the Marriot app.

3rd floor on 5th avenue. room is small " European" as they say . nice enough but right above a night club pumping bass music until 3am . couldn't be worse. no warning whatsoever or choice given at the front desk. incredible
