Potentially great hotel but needs improving
The hotel is superbly located but badly in need of refurbishment. The staff are super friendly, responsive and generally lovely. The room itself was good as described but wasn't as clean as it should be for a 4 star hotel (no cleaning under sofa bed and drain flies in bathroom show the basins and plug holes need disinfecting. The mattress is not periodically checked by the team and was quite scalloped (indentation from clients over the years). Overall its a potentially great hotel but it needs a refurb and a few more checks in place on room quality control. As an aside we were in room 140 which is directly above the rear loading bay and the deliveries door and these can start at 4am often so if you are at all a light sleeper you will be very sleep deprived! The sound insulation for room 140 and others impacted should have been vastly improved to help a good nights sleep.
The location is great! Although, for the money, the hotel itself needs some love. Bit of a moldy smell in our bathroom and the pool and facilities are a bit rundown.
Amenities ridiculously overpriced for value
Bathroom was difficult to move around. No hand rails the tub. No hooks for robes in the bathroom. Dangerous swing glass over the tub. I kept the balcony door closed, but i got a bug bites at night.
It was walkable to many rest and bars, felt super safe. the place is beautiful and had a lot of shopping
Everything was pristine at the hotel...its the air conditioning for me was not cooling sufficiently in my room or the hotel perhaps i am a little more heated than others but i was only comfortable outside the hotel
Great location, close to shops and restaurants. Newer neighborhood but walking distance to the old town. It is a bit of a walk from the train station and definitely not flat. We took a cab as I was not aware that there were 2 train stations in Antibes.
Fantastic location away from the more busy areas yet still super close to the beach and walkable to Antibes centre. Balcony on the 5th floor had a lovely view over the surrounding area. Rooms were standard hotel rooms, clean and perfect for what you need. The (small) indoor pool was a great pre check out treat.
This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in and certainly inadequate in many ways. Some very rude staff members (also two very good ones) severely limited dining options, not terribly clean, cold room, and just very, very, tired. But NOT particularly cheap.
Shame about the pool
Lovely hotel in a good area, only gripe was that the indoor pool was out of action for all of our visit, when you are visiting in April you need the indoor pool
Wonderful
wonderful hotel and great employees. ex cellist services!
Very well situated for bars ,restaurants, shops, beaches within Juan Les Pins. wonderful staff
Christian and his staff went out of the way to make sure our stay was memorable. During this time of Covid things are a bit different. The hotel was spotless and you felt safe there. It is located close to all the beaches and restaurants and convenient to the rail station. If you wish to explore Cote d' Azur by rail or tour, seeing everything from Monaco to Cannes, this is the hotel to be staying. We were returning to Canada after our stay there and Alain called and arranged our Covid tests and was very helpful on several matters. The rest of the staff were as considerate and helped us print out the necessary travel documents you require for international travel. We would stay there again and as we said this hotel is ideal to use as a base to explore Cote d' Azur Don and Jeanette, Canada
Great spot, right near the beach in Juan-Les-Pins!
Location is great, hotel is lovely, highly recommend!
good but misleading
Hotel is good, only thing that was disappointing that we had to pay for beach access while on the hotels.com page it said that they have a private beach. Which is not true. Beach access costs around 30 euro per person per day
Staff are superb, food is excellent and rooms lovely. Highly commended !!!
Good and uneventful stay
It was an off-season visit, so the experience was different, in a good way. There werent many customers at the hotel, and on a couple of mornings I was the only person at breakfast. But still the service was good and everything worked as they should. Location is good, within walking distance from Juan Les Pins center and the beach. Riviera shows its different face at this time of the year when the tourists are not there.
Well located hotel with very welcoming staff
Well located, 5 minute walk to beach and shopping. The staff very all very friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast with good selection.
Fit for purpose, room for improvement
Public facing hotel very neat, good service. Breakfast food just so-so. Comfy bed. Room condition had a few drawbacks. Wood chipping off, cheap kettle, awful coffee cream, paper coffee cups???
Great upgrade to a suite, only used the room and pools, breakfast and internet is stupidly expensive
Good location but needs renovation
The hotel was clean and the staff was nice, but this hotel needs a renovation desperately. It looks like it hasn’t been updated since the year it’s been built decades ago. The day we got in we were told their private beach was closed to a private event which was fine because there are public beaches all over the place you can go to, but I am sure disappointing to many guests. They charge an outrageous price for breakfast which is nothing special so I would go walk a block elsewhere and eat on the beach watching the sea and get food for the fraction of the price. The bed was very comfortable, but very small bathroom. It’s a good location from the beaches in Juan les pins, but if you want to be closer to Antibes town I would stay around there since they have more to do and beaches as well. The walk into town is a little over a mile so to do it everyday can get annoying.
Hotel with Private Beach
Excellent hotel and having access to the private beach a short 5 minute walk away was a huge plus!
The staff went out of the way to welcome us! The people at the front desk, most notably a gentleman whose name I believe was Marat, did a superb job. We had a problem with the AC in our room and immediately Marat coordinated an upgrade in a different room where the AC worked just fine. Their restaurants food was excellent. Delicious with beautiful very French-esque presentation and the gentleman who seemed to be in charge, Mohamed, went out of his way to make sure each experience was wonderful. The rooms were very modern and room service did a great job. I will definitely be back to the Riviera and intend to stay at this very hotel again!
Lots of space, nice friendly staff, very easy with kids, quiet and good breakfast.
great price and service thank you, see you again soon :-)
It wad spacious, well planned and convenient location.
The hotel is clean. Rooms are large and quiet. It is very well located in the centre of Juan les Pins, few minutes away from the beach.
Friendly, welcoming and efficient hotel. Philippe, the manager, is a true gentleman and a wonderful man.
The Location was great as it was near the station and local restaurants. The facilities , with pool, gym etc was good and well staffed. The front staff were helpful, friendly and answered every question. I could not fault the hotel in any way and would go back next year.
Great unless make a change
I'm trying to switch this reservation to Heathrow airport for the night but can not find anybody to talk to about it
The staff are what make this hotel. Above and beyond.
Might need dinner refresh in some areas. Breakfast is a little poor
Lovely hotel great welcoming very profetional Top restaurant
A bit dated and grubby but fine for the right price
The pool was croweded and water looked dirty! Not enough staff serving. One of the lifts was broken for the whole stay. The bathroom smelled and in bad condition. The room balcony was old and grubby. The bathtub grout was crumbling out. The hotel needs to be refurbished. The only good thing is the good location. The worst Marriot i have stayed at.
Good but could be better
Good location to beach and restaurants/beach clubs. Small bathroom water goes everywhere! Daily room clean was very delayed and averagely cleaned. Complimentary water only provided on the first night, and no water or general tea/coffee facilities provided around the hotel. Hotel bar area could be better and open till later. Staff could be taken as rude at times.
Great place to stay in Juan Les pins.
We were planning to leave and have a night elsewhere, but were enjoying it so much extended our stay from 4 to 5 nights... so get another review! Great hotel, staf, facilities and location.
Good Hotel in good location in Juan les Pins
Great staff, service and location. Good WiFi and facilities.
Great Anniversary Stay in Antibes-Juan Les Pins
Great, clean, comfortable hotel in a great location. Staff was helpful. Very walkable with tons of food and shopping within short walking distance from the hotel. The beach was super close as well. We booked the partial sea view suite and was not disappointed with the views or size of room.
Incredible place! Great Staff!
Good Hotel to explore the local area
We enjoyed our stay here. The whole place lacked atmosphere and it was a nightmare trying to find the pool but overall the hotel was comfortable and a great base to explore the local area. I would stay again
Nice hotel, not in NICE but nice village
this hotel was spacious and comfortable. The pool and small gym were good however we did mix up the location which apparently many people do as there are 2 Acs, one in Nice which this one isn't. The staff were nice enough and this is a great hotel for business travellers / conferences.
Great unexpected service
The staff is friendly. I would like to mention Marat from the front desk he went out of his way to make sure customers feel welcomed.
4days one person
Hotel room without view.Executive style. Breakfast included.Invited a guest and would not pay 25 euro for it again.
The restaurant in the hotel was the worst dining experience we had during the 3 days we were in the area..... I ordered what was described as a chocolate cake with creme brûlée center, & the dessert they served was chocolate mousse out of a box & nothing that should pass as creme brûlée on top of it! Horrible service too, at the restaurant. The front desk representatives were very friendly, & helpful. We were also very surprised at the cost of the hotel breakfast 25€ a joke for what they offer!
Nice hotel near shops, restaurants and beach.
I like but PLEASE NOT SO MUCH AIR FRESHNER in lobby. THE HOTEL SMELLS LIKE A CASINO. TOO STRONG!
Convenient hotel close to shops and beach
Very nice decor inside, outside doesn't look that great. Rooms were very nice, clean and suitable to our needs. Very close to amenities shops and beach front. Lovely area
Ambassadeurs Juan Leas Pins
A good hotel in many ways but the bed room and bathroom were shoe box sized.
Small Room Smaller Bathroom
Disappointed as I had been 6 weeks before but I stayed at The Garden Beach which was far superior, it is not close enough to the beach and their beach is very small, the sunbed are too close together and more expensive than the Garden Beach and Provincal. The bathroom was tiny and the room small and not kept very clean. Poor value
No review
Fantastic girl at reception called Laura-she worked so hard and was so helpful in every way. No further comments!
Reliable and comfortable stay!
Love this hotel. Fantastic pool, spacious, comfortable rooms, good location in Juan.
Great hotel - could be better
Nice hotel. Very clean. Food could have been better. We found it annoying that every service costs extra. The security staff working the pool area were rude and needs to work on their attitude. The private beach was beautiful, but a joke in terms of service. Reception and front desk were very helpful and polite.
It's About The People
Very good hotel with a kind, courteous, professional and wonderful staff.
Excellent balance quality/cost ratio.
It a excellent hotel in good location in juan les pins. The staff was fine, and the room cleanliness was excellent. We recommend this hotel.
Location is the only plus
Having got on a 6am flight by the time we arrived to the hotel is was pre check in time and we were pretty tired. Even though the room was clean it hasn't been inspected - normally a hotel would send someone to sign off but no, we had to wait. The maid service was very hit and miss - her cart was on our floor at 8am and she still hadn't cleaned the room at 3pm - our friends room never got cleaned at all! If you don't mind a shower that floods the bathroom with water, a Lino floor and a wardrobe that caters for children's clothing you will be fine. Distinct lack of sunbeds round the pool and also lack of clean towels. No drinks service round the pool either Only plus is that the hotel is in a great location
Eh...it's ok. Good location
Good location, near beach and restaurants. Hotel in need of updating a bit. A/C ran the entire time on cold and room was still hot. The hotel was very unprepared for breakfast time. No silverware, out of food, no coffee cups...and it was early/mid morning time. Wouldn't pay extra for the breakfast buffet if it doesn't come with the room.
Great location
Good hotel close to the town looks a bit of a business hotel but caters for everyone recommended if looking to stay in Antibes and the food and staff very friendly
Amenities are good but the rooms are very small
Amenities are good but the rooms are very small and noisy, unless you are on the right side of the hotel. We booked through Expedia on a flights and hotel package. On our last trip to Juan Les Pins we stayed at Hotel Juana and at the time were torn between both there and Ambassadeur. On this trip we decided to try Ambassadeur and we were disappointed. Juana is a proper 5 star hotel, this is 4 star because of the amenities but the rooms are closer to 3 star. It’s worth paying slightly more to be at Juana. Our room was on the third floor at the front of the hotel and it was noisy all day round with deliveries to both the hotel, neighboring buildings and workers coming and going. We were also allocated one half (the smaller half) of an adjoining room. Other than the bed, you couldn’t fit much else in it and we found that we often ran out of space. Bathroom small but clean. Our own terrace with table and chairs was a nice touch as it meant we could have the odd meal in the room. If we didn’t have the balcony, I suspect we would have looked to have changed rooms (or even hotels). If you are going as a family then this is the hotel for you. If you are looking for a romantic weekend away without the kids, look elsewhere.
Rooms not well cleaned
Room cleanliness nul. Toilets not. Leaned after being used
Really good hotel
Great venue, lovely quiet pool, close to bars restaurants and short walk to beach.
disappointed
The hotel was privatised by groups of families for all week end, trashing the pool, and making a lot of noise. this was not what we were looking for.
4 star hotel near seafront (3 minutes walk)
stayed 1 night - hotel was v quiet as it is the off season. So got a reasonable deal (£75 per night) - breakfast (biffet is 25 euros so we took breakfast at a nearby cafe. The reception staff were attentive and spoke good English. The concierge drove to bus stop for the bus to the airport (#250), which is a 10m walk. The outside pool which is about 25-30m long is closed in winter (it is not heated) so could not be used. The indoor pool is v small - about 10 metres so not useful for exercise. Gym is small but reasonably equipped though only 2 treadmills, 1 seated bike and exercise mat - can see this getting v criowded if the hotel is busy. Nice sauna.
Convenient hotel and wonderful people
Always a great stay at the AC Marriott. Friendly staff, good breakfast, strong WiFi
Smelled a bit .................
Nice to escape work.
Would not recommend
Breakfast was filthy dirty Rooms are very small Bathroom are tiny and falling to bits
One of the best in the south of France
Really nice Marriott property. Juan Les Pines is a great location just 20 minutes from Cannes and 40 minutes from Nice. 5 minute walk to the train station. Great for taking a long run on the beach promenade. Certainly one of the best hotels I've stayed in in the South of France. Many Western accommodations and great breakfast buffet.
very clean, friendly and super comfortable bed
friendly, efficient, clean and a very comfortable bed.
Noisy hotel
Noisy lots of banging doors from 5am
Modern Hotel in a good location
I was in Juan Les Pins for 5 nights staying in a suite with two friends, the room was excellant very clean and had plenty of space, 2 balconies with a view to the sea. The staff were all very helpful especially the front office and the gentleman that arranged booking restaurants and our taxi to the airport. Superb location only a short walk and you are in the centre .
Disappointed with the amount of rubbish on view
Checked in easily, but found rubbish / cans for our view.
Lovely hotel
Hotel is within walking distance of beach restaurants and all facilities
Nice location
Nice room. Had a junior suite that was large and modern. More of a business hotel. Prefer the Juana or Saint Valerie as reception staff are more pleasant and both have a more personal feel about them.
Fair but may not stay again
I was here visiting for conference. The location first of all is far from the Festivals. It is about 35 Euro ride because of the bad traffic. The hotel service was inconsistent, sometimes, they were great while other times, they had missed to call a taxi for me. They had once told me that there would be taxi available within minutes of calling in the morning when of course, half hour later, I was still in the lobby. For the most part, the hotel restaurant was good. I ate there a few times. As for the room, it was overall good minus the fact that the two rooms I had stayed in both had mosquitos. I had to change rooms half way through because I couldn't stand it nor catch them. Noting that I was bitten quite a few times, the second room had the same situation. Although I believe it probably was just my luck, mosquitos is a sign of cleanliness issue. Im neutral with this hotel, everything was good except for a few hiccups.
celebration
i took my sister to Juan Les Pins to this hotel to celebrate her "special" birthday, she had worked there 42 years ago so it was a small trip down memory lane. hotel upgraded us to Suite room everything was lovely we couldn't fault the hotel at all. we had a wonderful time and will definitely go back.
excellent Break
Really comfortable hotel and only five minutes from the Hotels own Private beach.
For the high price, I expected for more
No free WiFi at rooms. Breakfast is very simple. No kettle in the rooms. TV with almost non-English channels, only French.
Not USA Marriott standards
3 differerent rooms in 3 days. No A/C the first, No TV the second. The staff was just barely accdeptable
Fairly average hotel overly priced
My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed Juan Les Pins as a resort however both felt that the AC Ambassadeur failed to live up to the large fee it commands, primarily due to the often lacklustre service of the staff (concierge, chambermaids & bar staff) and the mediocre facilities (sauna which didn't work, very hard mattresses & bar unmanned so unable to get coffee at midday)...not what you would expect for a hotel of this rating/cost. If you are looking to holiday in the Cote D'Azur I would suggest you stay in an apartment or find a villa, as this is such a great area but the hotels appear overpriced on the evidence of our stay and that of those we spoke to.
small niggles
Overall the hotel is clean, modern and functional if a little soulless. The location is quiet. Main gripe was the key system. Ours kept not working and the staff just provided more non working keys. Several trips were needed to resolve the issue, more than once. Not good returning to the room thinking your chance of getting in are 50:50 at best. Staff at the beach were lively.Staff at the pool were invisible. On balance adequate but would probably stay elsewhere if returning.
Not a 5 star hotel
Not even a 4. Hotel was in a great location but lacked everything a 5 star should have. No restaurant on premises. Hotel staff was polite but under staffed. Rooms were small, Ac was not blowing cold air. Kids running up and down halls early in the morning. Other than that, it was okay. When I stay at a 5 star hotel, okay doesn't cut it.
A good quality well situated hotel
I was actually in Antibes on business but the hotel proved a good and comfortable base for trip. Relaxing after my meetings I found the pool rather small and crowded with a lot of families - but I guess that is normal for the time of year.
Close to all amenities
Been to this hotel many times the staff are always helpful the hotel is clean and has everything you need. Lovely pool close to town and good beach restaurant
Expensive but great experience
The Ambassadeur is a large and modern business-class hotel, unusual for this resort. It also has an excellent outdoor pool with bar, as well as an indoor pool and small fitness room. Room was excellent. Food OK - NB with so many places to eat outside, the hotel does not expect guests to eat in.
Good hotel close to shops & restaurants
Nice hotel with pleasant staff. Clean and spacious with excellent location.
Great hotel in the beach town of Juan-Les-Pins
we stayed here for 1 night as part of a 10 day trip around France. The hotel itself was perfectly nice...a standard Marriott type hotel. Our room was very clean and modern and comfortable and a large-ish room. We did not choose the more expensive room overlooking the pool because we didnt think there was really any point. The hotel is a few blocks from the beach so nothing has an ocean view. There was free wifi in the lobby althought it didn't work great but no free wifi in the rooms. The marriott has chairs down on the beach but you have to pay to rent them for the days and its about 25 euro per chair for the day. Don't rent their chairs...walk furthing down the beach to La Douce and rent for 16-18 euro instead. Overall we loved our night in Juan-les-pins and thought this hotel was a great find for the money.
Nowhere near the 5* hotel promised
At the end of a fabulous holiday I decided to treat my family to the ultimate luxury - a 5* hotel experience in Antibes. It started badly. When we opened the mini bar there was an overpowering stench of brie that the previous guest had left from many days earlier - the staff came and removed it, but the smell lingered for several hours. It was then that all the things that clearly made this NOT a 5* hotel started to come into focus - there was cheap formica on the floor, the furniture was slightly shabby, there was no dressing gown / robe. It was hardly a 4* - maybe just a 3*. But it had it's own beach so it could't be so bad - we walked down there, but it was closed. The next day we decided to visit the luxury pool - but it was being cleaned (at 9am) so we decided to pop off to the beach - it must be open, we concluded. It was then that we were told that the 'private beach' actually cost €15 per person - we were expected to pay €60 for the four of us to have a quick swim. I was helpfully told that there was a public beach. I knew because I had visited it the evening before: being the only public beach in the area, it was a popular venue for the neighbourhood dogs who, quite reasonably, like to do their business when they encounter sand. The receptionist was a redeeming factor. When I pointed out the hotel's shortcomings, she was genuinely upset and offered free car parking and to extend our checkout. But it was too late. We just wanted to leave.
Below its rating
This hotel is 5 star merely because it has the facilities required by the French official body. It bears no comparison with other 5 star hotels in Juan. It is scandalous that it has no free wifi in the rooms, in this day and age. It also charges for everything else it can, and not at good rates for guests. If you are looking for 5 star, go to the Belles Rives, the Hotel du Cap or the Juana instead. I have been going to Juan for over forty years, and would not pick this as my hotel of choice. The junior staff are keen and very helpful but the air is that Marriott have misjudged their market in this area and what they can get away with elsewhere is not suited to it.
nice hotel close to centre
nice quiet hotel near centre , very small bathrooms, swimming pool good,
A bit basic
Good location and a decent basic hotel. Would be good for families as the pool area is well manned and secure.
Great staff !! Noisey room
Great hotel except for one thing. Do not get a room with an adjoining door. Its as if nothing was there. I heard every whisper from the person next door. Very annoying. Other than that it was the best shower I have ever been in !! Great water pressure. Great pool. Really great staff and bartender. The parking garage is for really small cars. I had a bmw 5 series and had much trouble driving it down there. Actually scratched it on the way down the ramp. Crazy small.
Great hotel for business
I was surprised to hear on arrival at 10.00 pm that we did not have free parking space. £1 euro an hour but 20 euros a day if we ket the car there! Underground parking was very restricted too. Plenty of spaces but not very much room and danger of wheel hubs scratching on narrow ramps. ( our car was hired) Found a place on street free! No tea/ coffee making facilites there ( special requirement of health tea needed) Had to ask for kettle and mug and didnt come spontaneously!! No Free internet/ wi fi access at £15.00 euros a day! ( was told on the last day when we checked out that we had a free hour!) Food and drink very expensive!
Ms
Overall it was nice.
Goood hotel.
Wiffi is not inclued. 7euros per day is very expencive . Is should to be free.
Reasonable option when doing business in Sophia Fr
I booked this hotel on the recommendation of a friend as we were both on a business trip to Sophia Antipolis. While a good driving distance to our destination in Sophia Antipolis the Juan Les Pins area is quite nice and has may good restaurants (even at this time of the year). If you don't mind driving through the city, this is a viable option. Hotel staff was very helpful and thought ahead.
Best avoided and there are nicer hotels in the are
The aim of this hotel is purey to charge you for everything they can, and squeeze as many Euros from you as they can. The Resturant food is poor to be fair, and tea or coffee at €5.50 a cup is a rip off as is a can of coke at €6. Car parking is €1 per hour or €20 per day, but stay for 23hrs and they will charge you €23 as you failed to stay a full 24hrs. Of course if you do not use the car for more than 24hrs, they charge €1 per hour. I left the car for 42hrs and was charged €42, and not €20 for the first 24hrs and a further €18 for the additional 18hrs. I like quality hotels and never mind paying a fair and sometimes exaggerated price for services, but this hotel does not deserve to be branded as a Marriott. Best avoided.
Extras - extortionate!
Everything here is an extra charge, surprised they don't charge you to use the lifts! However, it was clean, friendly and modern. Don't use the hotel car park, not only does it smell foul, 20 euros per day is way too much - park locally for free, it seems that leaving your car (seemingly abandoned) dangerously parked on bends with the hazards going is the norm... The beach was very nice, but book before you go there or you'll get turned away and expect to pay 20 euros per lounger per day. Disgusted to find out they charge 15 euros per lounger for the pool - should be included in the price! Would consider staying elsewhere in the town next time. And no free wi-fi - just not on these days...
Handy for weekend stay in Juan
Not pleased with shower system-too easy to flood bathroom. Helpful staff and good location. Some building work adjacent to hotel.Clean bedrooms but cleaning took place rather late in the day. Should not be considered a 5 star hotel
The men's bathroom accessed on floor below lobby/restaurant had a very pungent smell of urine, almost nauseating. Despite a very expensive suite, they nickel-and-dime you--no included breakfast, no free coffee in the lobby, etc. Not worth the money.
