Conveniently located next to Vieux Pont and historic center. Parking on site. Very nice and helpful front desk and technical support staff.
Great location close to the old center of town. Beautiful hotel and interior courtyards. However, the staff were young and inexperienced and appear to need more guidance - both coffee machines in the breakfast room did not work for over 30 minutes. Dirty coffee cups were left on counters in the hallways. Bar staff on Saturday evening were more busy "tidying" an hour before closure than looking after the clients present etc. - small things but they affect the overall customer experience in a 4 star hotel.
I had a stroke and I wouldn’t get to the bath; it was to high for me, but other than that, it was great.
Great stay
Loved the hotel, near to downtown and all dining and shops
Great stay
Building is an old and impressive Abbey, beautifully restored with thoughtful inclusions
The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very clean.A top-notch hotel …food was amazing, staff friendly and overall we had a wonderful stay
If not for the AC blocked and be usable it would have been great I would like to point out the professionalism of Brenna she was really of great help and attentive. Thank you Brenna
Perfect
Terrible rooms
Clean, good location and friendly staff
Short 1 night stay.
The property was nice except that my bathroom shower smelled musty. Spacious rooms, but no telephone to call the front desk. Extremely unhelpful front desk personnel. Before booking the reservation, I called to make sure that someone spoke English as advertised and the person who answered the phone did. I was driving in the dark and rain, so I wanted to get there, but was also hungry arriving around 9:30 PM. I asked if there were any restaurants that would be open she said she has no idea. I asked again, trying to get an indication of if I would be able to find food there when I arrived; she just kept saying no idea with no willingness to help. I feel like that’s basic the front desk should know whether guests can get food or not. At least have the name of one or two late night places or delivery info available. So I arrive at 9:40 PM and GPS took me to an old wooden back door with the name of the hotel above the door as if it’s a legitimate entrance. I had to pull into an alley because there was no parking and the doors were bolted. I called to tell them I was at the door but the front desk person hung up on me. I called back three times and kept hanging up on me. When I finally found the way, she told me she is the security person there and speaks no English. It could have been a great experience, instead, I spent my one night going to sleep hungry and frustrated.
the staff were friendly and helpful
Good overnight stop.
Our second stay. Comfortable bed and pillows. Room was very austere and bedside tables were tiny stools. Too small for a book and phone. The public rooms are lovely, full of antiques and art works. Unfortunately the lovely restaurant was closed for a wedding, which was disappointing but we ate in the bar area. The meal was good but extremely expensive and minimalist. I had a small piece of fish on peas, no other vegetables. Fruit salad was excellent. Check in was efficient. Plenty of secure car parking space. 10 minutes walk from centre. No alternative places to eat nearby.
absolutely beautiful place and a 10 minute walk to the Ingres Musee. AWESOME!
Nice hotel, good location close to centre of town. Bit disappointed that as a Spa and Resort hotel there was only an outdoor pool which was closed (October)
fantastic hotel next to the river
Fantastic hotel next to the river. Lovely family room. Sadly we didn’t get to enjoy to Spa facilities.
No facilities available. Couldn’t even get food at the hotel
Fantastic! We travelled with 4 dogs , not a problem . Big carpark and amazing history
Beautiful hotel in a beautiful town . The front of staff were fantastic , helping us with bike hire at 4 euros a day , down to where to visit and which villages to explore . The hotel room was perfect and the pool area , a peaceful haven . We loved this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area
Excellent hotel in good location. Didnt try spa or pool but they looked fine.
Very nice venue and very nice staff. Free parking on the premises was appreciated.
A lovely place in a lovely town
Nothing special
We stayed in this hotel on the way home with our 2 small dogs dogs. I t was clearly stated on the hotel.com web site that dog's are free, which was a surprise at the time. When checking in we were told that the dogs would cost 10 euros each. I said that the web site had said that dogs were free. We went into an argument about the 20 euros. The manager then appeared and in a very snotty attitude said that they would drop the 20 euros as if they were doing me a favour. This was not a good start. The room was small but clean. No coffee/tea facilities. The breakfast was varied and the breakfast room were staff happy and helpful, unlike reception. Plenty of parking. Just such a shame that they had to be so rude.
very good and convenient, clean, nice staff , we will come back
Hotel Good - Dinner Dissapointing
Hotel very good and comfortable, but restaurant service very poor indeed. Serving staff did their best, but we had to wait 1hour for the first course! Obviously the kitchen could not cope with the amount of guests; poor management planning. We will not return to this hotel, as the dinner fiasco spoilt our stay.
We very nice hotel. Large rooms and very comfortable beds. We had a beautiful room overlooking the courtyard. Staff was very helpful
Close to town.
Short walk into main old town - for restaurants/shops etc. And for Sat morning market.
Great hotel
Great hotel and friendly staff. Food excellent and close to old and new town and river
Nice hotel. Convenient to town and fireworks
Very nice facility. AC was not working properly, draining on carpet, not cooling room adequately.
Air conditioner didn’t work and after calling reception to ask for it to be fixed we were left without any updates until I called asking only to be told “the unit is broken and can’t be fixed”
Very quiet. Room a bit warm. Free coffee in reception a bonus!
Top of the line in Montauban
Amazing place worthy of a 4 and half star rating
A great stopover
We stayed overnight out of season so cannot really comment on the pooland spa facilities. The public areas and room were lovely. The meal options were limited to a choice between two table d’hote menus, both were expensive but the meal we chose was very good. The only criticism would be that the reception staff were less than enthusiastic.
Check in was not in time
Every one was great except for the guy at the front desk on check in. He was busy with something else. Also maybe a different more efficient answering phone system would work Otherwise it was an amazing hotel
Highly recommend this historic hotel
Very nice room. Lovely young ladies on reception. All good. And free parking!
An excellent Hotel
We stayed here on our way to Spain and again on our return. The hotel was fabulous, the staff were excellent and it was very clean. The only down side was because we were travelling with our dog we were not allowed in the restaurant which we totally understood. We asked could we eat in the bar area and we were refused. We could not understand this as there was only us in the bar. We ended up having room service . Having said that we would recommend this hotel.
Quality and comfort
Everything about the hotel was what I expect for a 4 star standard. The breakfast was particularly good.
Excellent stay
Fabulous
Definitely coming back
Dream atmosphere. Arrived too late for dinner but got dessert and glass of port in the garden restaurant. Elegant, spacious room. Everything seemed new, spotless, yet hotel opened 10 years ago. Artwork everywhere. Exceptional finishing. Historic building. Impeccable service. Good sized pool.unbeatable price.
Great hotel
We spent 5 nights in the hotel. A great renovation of the abbey buildings. And the local area was fascinating with just a 10 minute walk to the main city square.
Nice!
Nice place to take a break from larger cities of the area. Within walking distance to historic area. Helpful staff. Lovely pool area. We did not use the bar or restaurant. It was noisy very early Sunday morning with people returning to the hotel.
Great Hotel, shame about the restaurant.
Hotel rooms excellent and very good facilities.Car park free and lots of space.Staff mostly very helpful and friendly.Great base for visiting the area. Only five minute easy walk into town with many ,bars and restaurants. Would have scored 5 but for the restaurant which we thought was expensive, poor selection staff that did not seem to know what they were doing.Would definitely stay again but will eat in town. Would
hotel from a an Abbey - a succes
What a treat to stay in this historical building transformed into a modern hotel and spa. Te personnel was very gracious and helpful.
Good Bones, Bad Dress
This is listed as a four star hotel but that is grade inflation. There are some elements that might lift it out of the 3 category, but when everything is added together this is no higher than a 3. Two of the three staff at the front desk were far less than helpful or welcoming. The rooms are very similar to a well kept very average motel in the US, nothing at all fancy or luxurious. The restaurant was all right, also a clear 3 with plastic place mats and paper napkins. It isn't that the food was bad, it was simply average. The bones of the old abbey are there in plain view but the rest is Holiday Inn.
Beautiful hotel. Eat elsewhere.
Hotel was very pleasant. Lovely quiet courtyards. Restaurant was overpriced and food was adequate. It's a 5 minute walk to the city centre.
Business (and some pleasure)
Easy to find, easy to park, good room, good restaurants. One with a Michelin star which I'm sure is excellent although we ate in the Bistro which was also very good. House champagne delicious at Euros 7 a glass. Lots of business types about and working on computers through dinner which I think is not a) strictly necessary or b) good manners! Reception staff over busy and sometimes reception unmanned which is not great in a big hotel like this.
Amazing hotel
The Abbaye des Capucins Hotel is a beautiful hotel arranged around 2 courtyards, with excellent facilities. We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay here.
Very calm & peaceful hotel, wonderful food
The hotel is an old abbey with 2 courtyards, it has been wonderfully converted to a hotel with the original structure intact. It has a very peaceful atmosphere, the staff are very friendly and some speak very good English. The hotel also has a Spa. This is not a hotel for children but for couples and of course newlyweds we saw quite a few of them during our weeks stay. The food of wonderful but expensive and the portions were generous. We have already decided to return next year it is a great place to recharge the batteries if thats the kind of holiday you want.
Stay there!
Peaceful, delightful and absolutely superb food - Peaceful, delightful and absolutely superb food - just to make a point.
Excellent stop over
Good food, excellent service. This hotel has character and charm. we found it to be an excellent stopover travelling from Toulouse airport up to the Dordogne.
Perfectly situated
It was a 'pin in the map' sort of booking but turned out to be a star location. Attentive, enthusiastic staff, perfectly situated just a short walk from the historic centre of Montauban (which is a great town to visit). The hotel was so good and in such a perfect location that having booked for just one night we eventually stayed for three
Abbaye des Capucins Hotel Spa & Resort
On arrival the Hotel appeared to be as described, unfortunately, The hotel was not up to standard the telephones in the room did not work the air con was broken , the non smoking bedrooms had had previous smokers in them they smelt very badly, the hotel tried to charge me for breakfasts we had not had and for the rooms which had already been paid and the receptionist was not the most aimiable person! Shame as it potentially could be a good hotel it just needs attention to detail.
Bien situé. Parking pratique
Dommage.
On a adoré

Pleasant, helpful staff and a comfortable room. The food was good and plentiful.
