Easy to get to via the rail from the airport this location is ideal for travelers. The only minor concern is the attached bar as some times during the evening the sounds can be loud.

A Lovely Stay

Lovely stay. Our room with a direct view of the Acropolis. Rooftop restaurant was wonderful. Staff in reception and in restaurant were all pleasant and helpful. It's a very small hotel and you can't drive right up to the door but neither of those were a problem for us. The location is literally right on Monastiraki Square which is lively deep into the night which, again, was not a problem for us as we use earplugs and sleep deeply but could be a problem if sensitive to noise.

Excellent and caring staff. Room is very spacious. Had a great night sleep. It's like a home away from home.. I loved this property and staff. Also the best food is just walking distance.

Great location, amazing views of the acropolis and good choice for breakfast

A for Athens deserves the good reviews it gets. The place could not be more convenient. Step off the metro and it is right there. We got a room with a view of the Acropolis and it was everything we wanted. Huge picture window looking out over Monastriki Square and the Acropolis. Windows when closed provided good sound insulation. Breakfast was varied and filling. Front desk staff polite and helpful. Shoutout to Alex who was wonderful in helping us. Would definitely stay here again if I was in Athens. Safe area and plenty of dining options within walking distance. All the tourist stuff is also well within walking distance.

Property is right next to Monastiraki Square. We arrived early, but the front desk clerk stored our luggage while we did some sight-seeing around town and our room was ready. VERY small elevator, but the Shakira music videos playing while you used it made it awesome!

It was not the best experience. On the pictures it looks really nice, however when you get there not so much.

We did not stay at A for Athens. When we arrived, we were told the guy in our room did not check out and his stuff is still everywhere and they can’t remove it. They gave us a room at 360 degrees instead, about 50 feet away. The room was nice and staff was great. Breakfast bar was insane!!

Best place to stay in Athens.

A for Athens is where you want to stay in Athens. The location cannot be beat. Rooftop restaurant and bar upstairs, excellent food and service, room overlooking Monastiraki square with Acropolis view, short walks to Agora, Acropolis, Hadrian's Library, Plaaka, etc.

The hotel was amazing with in walking distance to every place we wanted to go to. Every tour was able to pick us up there getting cabs was super easy. The view of the acropolis was beautiful an made every meal at the roof top restaurant an experience. The staff was so helpful and everything was clean. Loved the location.

The hotel could not have been more perfect. A clean, quiet, and comfortable room with nespresso and tea available in the room. Hotel was amazing with views of Acropolis and Monastiraki Square. Would recommend booking a room with a view. It is well worth it. Friendly and informative staff. Tourist hot spots well within walking distance. Coffee shops and eateries nearby. Hotel Breakfast was included and had local pastries and plenty of other options for even the pickiest eater. The hotel was clean, modern and accessible. It has a unique elevator. Would recommend!

Great small hotel. Clean, very small elevators typical of European cities. Our family room was spacious with nice lay out. Although we didn’t have a good view from our windows, the rooftop view is spectacular whatever time of day. Their breakfast buffet was good. Their dinner options were also good. Though lots of dining options around because the location is central!!!

This hotel in busy Monastiraki Square is the perfect location if you want be close to the Plaka, Syngtagma Square and lots of great shopping. The hotel staff was warm and available for any questions or concerns we had. The room was spacious, modern and inviting after a long day of sightseeing. Breakfast was an abundance of delicacies both savory and sweet served on the rooftop with a stunning view of the Acropolis. I highly recommend and would stay here again.

Stay for the rooftop views!

Our stay at A for Athens was excellent. The location was perfect for seeing the major sites and very close to the metro station. The rooftop bar/restaurant was beautiful with the most amazing view, great breakfast served there each morning as well. The room was comfortable, minimal, modern aesthetic. The staff was very friendly. Note that the elevator is extremely tiny, we had small carry-ons so it wasn’t an issue. But be aware of that if you plan to bring large luggage and/or cannot take the stairs.

Overall the hotel is very nice. Some of the rooms and their rooftop restaurant have an amazing view of the Acropolis. However it is very noisy and what we didn’t know is the restaurant plays very loud music all evening and into the early morning. When you have an early flight it doesn’t allow for much sleep time.

We stayed here for our last night in Athens. It was a perfect hotel in which to spend our last night. The rooftop bar/restaurant was just the best. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

All the Hotels in this part of town are kind of quirky and this one is no exception, but the hotel staff was super friendly, the room was clean and you just can't beat the location for shopping, restaurants, easy access to taxis, easy access to the Metro and the Acropolis is only a 10-15 minute walk away.

Upon arrival we were treated with friendly and quick staff. Our room was very spacious and clean. We had 3 water bottles in room waiting for us. Breakfast had good variety and was delicious. Croissants, sausages, veggies, eggs, and more. The area itself is right across the metro. A few stores, coffee shops and lots of souvenir shops. When we were checking out, we had to leave quite earlier to catch a train and the hotel had prepared breakfast to go bags for us. That was so thoughtful! Would love to stay here longer. Also there are 2 pharmacies literally around the corner which was great because we needed some forgotten stuff from home. Really recommended staying here. Oh and they're rooftop bar where you have your breakfast is upstairs where it over looks the city and Acropolis!! Breathtaking view!

Perfect location to be close to the Plaka and other central Athens locations like the fish/meat market. Friendly and helpful staff. Tasty breakfast with variety of options. Rooms are modern, clean and spacious. Rooftop bar and restaurant has a phenomenal view and food and drink were exceptional. The music is a bit loud for the hotel rooms below. Overall, we loved it and would stay again.

Location of hotel was perfect. We stayed for one night prior to island hopping. Upon arrival, our room was upgraded and we had the most beautiful view of the Acropolis. The room itself was very nice and modern for a room in the city. Nice bathroom size compared to other places we have stayed. The upstairs bar was also very nice with a beautiful view. Front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming. The room was a little noisy at night, the hotel overlooks a public square and there were people out until after 4am- if you are a light sleeper like me, I’d bring ear plugs for a sounder sleep! When we return to Athens, we will for sure stay here again!

A for Athens Hotel was very clean, centrally located to all sights and walkable to all as well. The rooftop bar has fantastic views of the acropolis and Monastraki Square. And best of all, the entire staff is so helpful and friendly from the the employees at the front desk to the bar staff and waitresses upstairs on the rooftop. I would come back.

They have an amazing rooftop, and they prioritize table availability for guests staying with them. Be advised it’s a happening area of town and can get a little loud late into the night. But it’s worth it.

The view of the Acropolis from the rooms was amazing. The rooms were very spacious as well compared to what you typically get overseas. Also, the rooftop bar /restaurant was a nice on property bonus. Their breakfast buffet was one of the best we have ever had. The location was very walkable to shopping, attractions, and entertainment options. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay.

The rooftop restaurant of acropolis’s view is so beautiful! Hotel’s Location is perfect, walkable to everywhere and train station just besides to airport . It just my room is so old and smells, it either from the bath sewer or toilet.

This is the 2nd hotel we stayed at in Athens. The location is EXACTLY where you want to be to access all of Athens and to feel emerged into some authentic culture. I’m not sure how this is a 3.5 star hotel when our other one was 4 stars and this was significantly better. The room was nice and cold, bathroom large and shower amazing!!! The only tiny negative is, I wish at check in they had told us to make a reservation for the rooftop at sunset because it fills up fast. This is where I want to stay each and every time I come to Athens. Our food tour left from the other side of our building. The metro is right there. All the trendy but good restaurants are walkable in this area and when I say walkable I mean 5-10 minutes or less. Little Kook was a 3 min walk. The meat market, 3 mins. Also if you can’t give up Starbucks it’s not too far from the hotel. Laundry- this is a perk of the location. There is a laundry store within a block of the hotel (I watched my husband go and pick it up from our room window). You can drop off your laundry and the woman there will wash, dry and fold it all with in 3 hours. We paid 30 euros, for 2 loads of laundry. This was very convienent.

We stayed here before our cruise and from the time we booked until we left, the staff was very accommodating! I had to contact them before we arrived and they responded promptly, our room was ready when we arrived, they arranged our taxi transport to ship and we loved the location! Would highly recommend!

Great location, easy walk to Plaka and only 7 minutes away from Acropolis. Loved / loved the view and rooftop restaurant.

The hotel is in a decent location near the ancient Agora, but it shows its age badly. Our room was just basic and the immediate area was dumpy with cracked and sloping narrow sidewalks which my wife and I almost fell down on several times. The hallway outside our room stank. The restaurant service was nonexistent. Our hostess and server never responded to our requests for a meal and we eventually just left. It seemed as if we did not even exist. The best thing and only great thing about this place was the front desk staff, who were extremely helpful and friendly. They were great!

Breakfast with an amazing view

Our room was surprisingly spacious and quiet for being right in the middle of busy Athens. I slept well. The super highlight is the bar / breakfast area on the top floor where your door looking over the square and right to the Acropolis. Breathtaking. The main things to see are all walkable, and a metro stop is right there for getting to other parts of the city, including the port and airport.

Book it!

My daughter and I stayed at the A For Athens in 2022 for 5 nights. I liked it so much that I booked it for my friend and myself when we returned from a cruise. The staff are so nice and helpful, the rooms are amazing (Acropolis view!!!), and the location cannot be beat. When I return to Athens, I will stay here again. And again.

The place to stay in Athens

A For Athens is a beautiful hotel in the center of all the action and close to everything you want to see while in Athens. Local restaurants, bars, shopping it has it all. The Roof Top is also a major plus, great service, friendly staff and delicious food. We stayed in the Red Suite and we were blown away by the view of the Acropolis. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful with anything we needed.

Going to keep it short and sweet, this place is amazing, great location, great staff, wonderful rooftop bar, just everything was perfect and as expected.

Greetings. The staff were all excellent and extremely willing to facilitate the visit. I was pleasant surprised by the hotel infrastructure. Great shower and internet. We had a balcony room (21) on the second floor with a view of the square and Acrópolis. Since our time in Athens was cut short due to flight cancellations, having the balcony view maximized our experience in Athens.

Love the location of this hotel! Across the street was the square, 15 minutes walking to the Acropolis and other attractions. From our suite the view to the Acropolis was beautiful, day and night. The room is very clean. There is a small elevator.

Great property in the center of the action with great views of the Parthenon. In fact, we walked from the Acropolis down to the hotel in a little over 30 minutes. Syntagma Square is less than a 15 minute walk. Being across the street from Monastiraki Square, it is a busy and loud area - but in a good way if you like the urban vibe. If you want low-key, quiet and relaxing, this is not the area for you. Lots of restaurants all around, metro station just steps away, flea market, shops and stores all right there. Hop-on/off bus across the street. Restaurant/bar on upper floors offers incredible views. Nice breakfast served up there if you stay at hotel. Staff is super-helpful (thank you Alex for all your tips). Great place for a couple days immersed in the beating heart of the city. We visited in mid/late April and enjoyed it immensely.

A for Athens is right next to metro and Acropolis, and has best views of Acropolis and breakfast. Worked out great for us. The reception staff were very cordial and helpful and helped with many things during our stay. I would highly recommend this place!!

We were very pleased with our stay, and room. We had a king size bed and sofa in the room. Good shower pressure. The staff were so friendly and helpful. When coming from Canada to a non branded hotel, we didn’t know what to expect. A for Athens was great. Also had a very good breakfast included in the cost of our room. Very good selection. The location was fabulous as well. Very walkable to everything. Would highly recommend!

Rooms were very, very nice. I have nothing negative to say - bed comfortable, shower and bathroom top notch. Location of this hotel is right across from the square so very walkable. 10 minutes or so to Syntagma square. Many restaurant options. For me the three things that make this hotel stand out are 1) the view of the Acropolis and 2) the rooftop bar with the incredible view / breakfast options -- to many choices to choose from 3) the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Definitely would stay again and recommend to others. 10/10!

A for Athens is an excellent Hotel in an excellent Location. The Rooms are super tidy and stands up to its standard in terms of amenities they offer. The staff at the reception is super friendly and are always eager to help. The location of the Hotel is right in the middle of Athens in monastiraki square, which is in walking proximyt to all major attractions including Acropolis. The hotel is right next to metro station monastiraki, which takes you straight to the airport. This is a perfect location to live with family. There are lots of eateries around and the hotel itself has a restaurant at the top with both covered and open air seating with beautiful view of the Acropolis. There is everything perfect about this hotel. Will definetely recommend to everyone.

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. Marie and her staff really give first class service. The hotel has amazing views of Athens. It is the first hotel to have a roof top bar in Athens. Breakfast is also included with your stay.

We had an Acropolis facing room and it was FABULOUS! To be able to look up at that fantastic view is priceless. The location is excellent and in the heart of the action on Monastiraki Square. The room itself is very spacious and comfortable and the roof top bar for drinks and breakfast was the cherry on top! We can't recommend this hotel enough!
