The idea of an apart-hotel worked well for a one week stay with a group of 6. Area was convenient to Georgetown and central DC area for tourist attractions.
Great Location and we had an excellent time!
Nice front desk person. Very nice lady!
Our overall experience was fair with the property. The reception desk/staff was friendly and polite. Things around the room were not quite complete upon our arrival (i.e. not enough towels and utensils for 4 guests). However, they quickly provided what we need upon our request. We later realized that our room air conditioning was not providing cool air but warm air even when we lower down the temperature. We didn't complain about it since we were leaving the property the next day when we realized it. We just opened the door to the balcony to get some cooler air inside the room.
Overall a nice place to stay. Everything was a walking distance though we had a car.
Everything was fine, staff were always happy to help
Unable to control temp in room ,too hot for sleeping. Furniture dated and dingy. Pull out couch frame bent extra uncomfortable for sleeping TV old can not use streaming services. Annoyed that it is first come parking, not enough spaces for everyone Good location walkable to Georgetown food and shopping
Temperature was uncomfortable. 80 degrees and only way to cool the room was to open the window and hope it cooled off.
It was a nice 1 bedroom apartment with kitchen and everything you need. One problem was with hot water in the evening. In order to take a warm shower need to wait until midnight because everybody was using it. But the location of the hotel is great band everything was comfortable.
Everything close Metro, Restaurants
Great stay, perfect location in between the Mall and Georgetown. I'd recommend springing extra for the onsite parking.
Location is great. Beds were okay, rooms were hot. Bathroom shower needs updated. It was nice having a kitchen so we could eat breakfast and lunch in.
Excellent stay! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will recommend to others who are looking for an apartment style apartment. The only complaint was the heating and cooling couldn't be adjusted from our room...but for the most part, it was a comfortable temperature.
No air conditioning. Room was 78 at check in and remained uncomfortably warm until late in evening.
The staff at the reception were really nice. The building is only capable of providing heat or AC at one time. As a result we had to use fans and keep the windows open. Beds are not comfortable and pull out not usable. Kitchen has stains everywhere and shower not great. Overall, stagnant air in the building and run down feel.
Close to National Mall
It was good. It was near the Washington Monument side of the National Mall so going to the Capital was an hour walk. It had 2 beds and a pull out couch plus a full sized kitchen. The kitchen was a little dirty and didn’t have all the necessities. Overall, we had a good experience.
Very nice
Up-to-date room, very clean. Staff was great. We had first floor room, I believe maybe handicap bathroom but that made it a huge shower. It also had like a small kitchenette, which was nice.
Very nice have stayed here several times.
Every one was amazing, excellent customer service. People are happy to work here and it shows.
Maybe 2.5 star hotel… not 4.
This place overstates is STARS… it is not a 4 star location… maybe 2.5 at best. The kitchen cabinets are painted plywood. All the furniture is dinged and scratched. There was literally a hole in the wall above the beat up fridge. Like maybe when the place was first remodeled it was nice, but everything being incredibly worn they need to humble themselves a bit and not claim the quality that’s not there. On a positive the linens were clean. But then only had 3 cheap towels in a room meant for up to 6. So this place has space, but not quality. When I open the blinds I was covered in dust.
Had a lovely time. They upgraded me for free so I had a huge room and it was lovely to unwind after apartment hunting all day. I'd happily stay there again.
This place is a joke. The rooms are gross and dated. The pictures they show are not what the rooms really look like. Way smaller and dirtier. There is no maid service except every 7 days. Unless you want to pay 125 bucks! They are mad when you ask for a towel because they only give you 2. They get mad when you ask for anything. Rude staff. Then they scam You and charge 500 bucks for smoking even though you didn’t. The rooms are gross and toilets are dirty. Carpet smells like dog sh… Place is crazy expensive for a dump. No food or bar just an awkward weird dirty place that scams you!
Efficiency Hotel
This hotel is an efficient type. It has s full kitchen and very spacious for an extended stay or contract worker. House keeping is once a week. The HVAC system only runs one setting based on the season ( hot in winter and cold in summer) you can only control it by turning the system thermostat on or off. Thats was the only weird thing I experienced.
Clean and convenient
The staff was great. It is in a great location to get everywhere in DC via metro or bus if you don't want to walk. The place is older, but has everything ypu need for a nice stay.
Great location! Room was clean and spacious. The kitchen needs some upgrades
We had an excellent stay for the weekend. We had two adjoining rooms which was the perfect set up for our family getaway. The property was very nice and all of the staff were friendly and wonderful!
The room was clean, more than spacious enough for me and my 3 friends, and we were able to find parking directly in the side of the hotel enabling us to see our car from our window. Not to mention the view was nice as well. The only downfall to me was that the ice and vending machine were in the basement.
Really nice place at a good rate. The room is spacious and works well for a small family.
Great stay. Hadn’t realized there would be a kitchenette but was happy to have it. The sofa bed was crooked, but the other beds very comfortable!
Muy central
DC trip in December
We loved staying here. Front staff is very responsive via text moreso than phone call. However they do respond quickly. There is a charge to check in before 3:30 but we preferred to just get inside. The room was large and clean. They were very helpful with our service animal. We would stay again any time.
This is a great hotel to stay at. Staff were very respectful and understanding, room was clean and comfortable. Stayed for 3 nights this past weekend and I would definitely stay here again.
It was comfortable and convenient
You change my reservation the last minute to another hotel farther away from my dr appointment.
Linens for sofa were in pretty bad shape. Maintenance was needed (light switch broken fixed with packing tape). No shelves or drawers in the bathroom. Furniture showed wear and tear. Very spacious with kitchenette. Very good location in high end area walking distance from Georgetown
Fantastic stay. Would stay again.
Didn't realiae no phones in room. Floors very slippery . need grab bar in shower.
Great location! Some confusion on checking in as no one at the front desk and no text message as with other Placemakr sights. Parking also not clear until we asked the front desk assistant
Good location
The communication from the hotel was good. We could not check in 2 hours early without pay additional money. The shower leak on the floor so bad that it took all the towels to dry thr floor. The hotel was told about it and said the would address it. They only gave us new towels. The shower had a lot of mold in it and you can tell it had been there for a while. The shower still leaked the next day. The heat stopped working the second day. Thank goodness it was not that cold outside. We told the staff and still was not working when we left. The staff were nice and helpful with knowledge of the area.
Unacceptable stay accommodation
No air in room. Apparently front desk staff knew. When I gave the feedback was told “yes it’s an old building and that room only has heat”. I couldn’t sleep. Was there for business meetings. Impacted my sleep exponentially. Additionally, the room had a strong odor or body order and food. the sheets were also quite dirty and I had to flip them over.
Good quality apartment. Check in at 4pm is bit challenging for late afternoon/evening meeting.
Great staff!
I liked the apartment that has a kitchen and its utensils so you can cook something if you want, very quiet, my children and I felt calm in the area. I loved that it is close to everything there in the area, 6 minutes from the White House and the other attractions that most would like to explore.
Heat/ air conditioning didn’t work well
Friendly front desk staff help with switching rooms.
It was most horrible experience... I checkin at 8PM and am told there will be no water supply from 9am next morning due to water company maintenance work. They could have tried to inform me this in advance instead of waiting till I land and checkin. Thought its out of tbeir hands and was conisderte. Then once checked inx I realized the hot water is not working st all... To make matters worst, the bathroom sink wasnt even drsining water... With a small kid and very tired from travels, i was stuckin a room that literally had no water facility for tje whole duration .. On informing the receptionist she said they hav called a repairmain who never turned up whole night and next day morning till we checked out either. Not even one word of apology let alone compensation. Zero empathy towards customers. They could have atleast offered a different room so that we could have atleast used the sink and shower before water was cut off. None of us could even take a bath after a long transatlantic flight. Horrible experience and its an apathy. Avoid.
Great location but a little old in terms of facility but overall OK.
Spacious, good location, helpful staff - but a bit tired.
Canceled room
The hotel canceled my room less than two hours before check in. Due to an event in town there were no comparable rooms available for less than double the price. Won't be booking here again.
property was well taken care of and located close to attractions!
Great location for the price. The suites are perfect if you want a fridge and/or want to cook. The place is a bit worn and drab, but has everything you would need. I strongly recommend it unless you want upscale.
Great experience . Floors could use an upgrade and bathroom floors need a good grout cleaing.
Near central, convenience,
Awesome stay! Thanks to Regina Willett!
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel- our room was what we originally reserved via Hotel.com and the Manager Regina Willett was awesome! She was professional, helpful and ensured that all our needs were met. The staff at 2500 Penn Hotel was great! I definitely recommend this hotel if you're in DC👍
Traders Joe's across the street, very large 'aparrmnt' with full kitchen
This was my 2nd stay. This time my room was very worn. Crumbs on the couch, tub/shower in bad condition. Beware the HVAC in the rooms can not be changed only on or off. Kitchen is my room was rough. Front desk help and location are the HIT for this choice. Sorry to see rooms so worn during this stay.
Great place to stay
Great staff, close to restaurants, shopping, groceries, metro.
Staff was so nice and room was so clean!!
Near to the center
Great place. Very big. Close to shopping and downtown DC
Loved having more space than a normal hotel room. However, it was described as three queen beds. Other hotels advertise as two queens and a pull-out couch. I was hoping to have the three queens, but it did turn out they counted the pull-out as a queen bed. Not the same. The parking situation is terrible. Very little parking is available. Had to use a parking garage that was several blocks away. Not a great situation when you arrive late and tired!
Good place, location was very good, parking not clear on the description of the hotel. Overall good.
Property is decent looking for the price. Location is also great.
This hotel location was everything and beyond. The staff was kind. But the room stay was terrible. Not being able to control the air was a big let down for me. I had to sleep with my door open to generate air. That's what made my experience not so good. I would stay here again if the air conditioning was fixed where the patron can operate their flow of air
Convenient location close to subway and restaurants
Loud crashing noises in the middle of the night that sounded like ice falling in the fridge woke me up twice. Check-in wait after 4pm while clerk "checked if the room was ready."
Very POOR parking
Room is good but parking is TERRIBLE! We booked 2 nights and no parking spot on our first night of stay! Have to wait (11:30AM) the nxt day to get a spot which the staff can’t even confirm if there’s one?? Hotel website should not advertised paid parking when they don’t have enough spot for reserved rooms!
The staff here are extremely nice and helpful! I can't say enough good things about them. The location is perfect-- easy access to both Georgetown and the metro. The rooms do seem like they could use some TLC. Surfaces and towels weren't clean, and the bathroom fan didn't work. No hair dryer, but luckily I had one from staying in a hostel previously. I love that they don't service the rooms every day-- I prefer that! I would stay again!
Great location. Friendly staff.
Friendly and helpful staff
This was a really great stay. Lots of room with a lounge, kitchen and bedroom. Well equipped kitchen meant we could cook easily. Lots of space to sit at the table and eat. Great location too for all the Washington sights.
This was a nice place with friendly and helpful staff.
A gem
Check in was a breeze. Location was excellent within a short walk to restaurants and stores. Big comfortable room even it was a junior studio. Welcoming and helpful desk staff.
We enjoyed our stay
Spacious room
We had a 4 night stay for a family vacation. We enjoyed the large room and kitchenette, although it definitely needed an upgrade and some more items. Very close to Trader Joe's but not too much else. The air throughout the hotel wasn't working when we arrived but was fixed within a coiple of hours. There are many small things that could be done to improve but overall we had a good stay for the price.
It was nice. A couple blocks from the Metro. Comfortable beds.
Good stay
Hotel desk clerks were very professional and helpful especially the young man who checked us in. Thank you.
We stay for a few days, love everything ! Close to the city center, monuments , river .
It’s was a good place and close to a lot of attractions.
Rooms and hallways very dated. Really needs updating, not as pictured on website. Kitchen poorly equipped. All staff were very pleasant and responsive when asked. Fairly close to Metro but still several blocks walk. Neighborhood is nice, near to GW University.
Everything was perfect. Only one negative: the room didn’t have a full length mirror.
Loved this property! Easy to get to, walkabout to lots of places and the service and beds were awesome.
Very nice area. The room itself was very nice with the exception of it needing some minor upgrades. The beds were comfortable except for the pull out couch which my kids used and complained of how they could feel the bed springs. They could also do a little better with replenishing basic items like toilet paper. We reserved a room for 6 people which they were aware of since the room accommodated 6 and only gave us 2 rolls of toilet paper. We ran out of toilet paper in the middle of the night and my husband had to go ask for some in the lobby where he had to wait a bit before he found an employee. Other than that, it was pretty nice. There was a Trader Joe across The street and a couple of restaurants next door.
Location is good. Room was shabby, poorly maintained with an almost unusable pull out couch. I would not stay here again with my family of 5. Would rather stay outside city or in Virginia for better lodging
Close to Foggy Bottom metro station. Close to Trader Joe's. We had big room with small kitchen. Staff was great. Great hotel would definitely return.
Our son goes to GWU nearby and this was a wonderful location to be close to him and also explore other areas of DC.
building is old. but staff were helpful
The hotel is old and very dirty. The bathroom had cracked tiled and the room smelled musky. We were book for 6 people and literally were handed extra sheets when we checked in. The kitchen was unusable because it was overall dirty with grime. We were told right off the bat that housekeeping was not available only by request and charge.
Staff was super friendly. But room was not super clean and bathroom had mold. The AC unit was super loud.
Great customer service.
It was very roomy and having a fully-equipped kitchen was amazing.
Don’t bother
Firstly, I had multiple issues with booking and changing our itinerary. When we arrived at 3 pm, they said our room was ready but we had to pay a hefty to get into it before 4. We had a graduation to attend at 4 and thought that fee was ridiculous for one hour. We ended up getting ready in my daughter’s room. My daughter had showered and asked for room servicing but was told it would be a charge for a room cleaning. Seriously? The place is old and rundown. I wouldn’t stay again.
Around the area and ease of transportation.
Don’t do it.
Surly staff. Common areas were dirty. Hotel room was not cleaned well. Lacking amenities: no cups/glasses, no tissues, leaky shower, loose faucet, burnt out lights, insanely loud air conditioner.
I liked that spacious rooms and the full kitchen. Also the bathroom was clean and updated
The rooms are excellent.
