Lovely little hotel very central and clean
Great Place To Stay.
The only slight complaint that I could have, is that the bed was a bit hard for my taste. But I had the same issue in Athens. So maybe a firmer bed is a thing in this part of the world. But other than that, this place is awesome! Great room with coffee, A/C and refrigerator/mini-bar. A/C worked great. Breakfast was very good. Inside and outside seating for breakfast. (Buffet style) If you chose to eat outside, DON'T leave your plate of food unattended, even for a moment. Those seagulls are not sitting around there for no reason. I found out the hard way! The staff was wonderful. Just nice folks! You will be near all the main tourist attractions. Finally watch some YouTube regarding scammers in Istanbul. I did, and a few of them were tried on me. This place is shopping heaven! The place to buy gold!
Great staff, very friendly and welcoming! Free Tea time from 5-7 pm. Problem with the AC, you can not change without saying to the staff… they knocked at our door at 1:00 am, waking us up…. to press a button on our ac panel screen… The ac are not independent in each room…
For parking, you have to leave the car keys to the staff for them to be able to arrange the cars in the parking. Just mentioning to let others know. Overall, the hotel meet my expectations. Definitely recommend. It is also very convenient located, within walking distance to many touristic attractions, close to restaurants and a small convenience store
We booked a triple room for 4 nights at this hotel. We had a comfortable stay, the rooms were clean, beautifully decorated and furnished in neutral colours. The hotel is located on a side street leading to the tram stops. It’s in a convenient location within walking distance to famous land marks of Sultanahmet area, shops and restaurants. The breakfast was enjoyable with a large selection of hot and cold options. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. A big thank you to Suleyman. I would recommend this hotel.
It was clean and the staff was good about helping us with directions and sites to see. Slight issue our room was small. But otherwise very happy.
As a single older woman traveling alone I appreciate the friendly, yet professional staff who were attentive and informed. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Very close to many attractions, the breakfast is great
Great location everything else accessible.
Such a cute room in the heart of Istanbul. It was cozy size but perfect for my solo travel. Rooftop breakfast area was a beautiful view and was delicious. Staff helped me arrange for transportation and having the mini bar was also a nice convenience.
The staff is just amazing. I had a kidney stone attack, and they helped me so quickly. Will visit Istanbul again, and will go to this hotel!!! Love it
Very comfortable beds and helpful staff. As advertised, great location for all the tourist hotspots, would recommend.
The terrace for breakfast and afternoon tea is wonderful – view of the Zeynep Sultan mosque directly adjoining and the Hagia Sophia behind it. Wonderful place to relax before/after spending time in a busy city. The very friendly staff made me feel very welcome and my stay was especially enjoyable.
The two gentlemen at the desk were really helpful in making our visit a success. The guys at the Terrace were most polite and made us 3aged ladies feel special
Very close to main Tourist areas,Quiet and charming area.
Lovely local hotel
Very helpful service. Lovely clean room in central Istanbul. Substantial breakfast with lots of variety.
Very friendly staff, clean room, really good AC, delicious breakfast, and the hotel is at the heart of Istanbul. They have transfers from the hotel to wherever you wanted to go. We will definitely come back!
Great Service, Comfortable Stay, Close to Sights
We enjoyed our stay. The front desk attendant was very friendly and helpful. He recommended a local restaurant which was a BIG win! Housekeeping did a fantastic job providing a clean room. The breakfast area offers a restful area overlooking Hagia Sofia.
Staff and room size . Web photos not reflecting the reality
Staff are not welcoming. The rooms are small so the web photos are not reflecting the reality
Nice place definitely coming back
First, we got a smelly room with a broken air conditioning. They supposedly fixed the air conditioning and "open the windows" during the day for the wet smell. The third day we got a second room on the third floor, we discovered they turned off the AC during de day and manipulate the AC thermostat from the lobby. Horrible, the receptionists are rude, and they constantly asked us to wait for the AC technicians to come to fixed the AC. Overall, the property condition does not match the pictures on the Expedia website neither the reviews. We spent 6 nights there and I do not recommend nobody to stay at that hotel.
The man who was the porter and breakfast attendant was terrible, we wanted to borrow 2 glasses for a drink in room and he said he woukd have to charge us !!! Also at breakfast he stood around watching everything you did, very of putting!!! He ruined our stay at the hotel.

Great customer service.😊
Ebru the front desk lady was a great host. She helped us booking tours, finding places, etc. I highly recommend this hotel. It is clean, the breakfast buffet is delicious, the rooms are big and comfortable and the location is central to main attractions. Great staff!
All attractions are close by.
This is a great hotel close to Hagia Sophie in the Blue mosque.
Hotel is near all the popular tourist sites. Just a few minutes walk for most of them. Close to many restaurants and public transport as well. It is a very convenient location. Hotel is clean and staffs are very helpful as well.
Location near be Hagia Sophia is excellent. Great complementary breakfast. Room and bath and amenities were terrific and clean. Only issue was with wifi cutting in and out during our stay.
Facility and surroundings are in excellent shape. Staff service was exceptional. Cozy!
We enjoyed the hotel's location, nice décor, breakfast and appreciated the friendly and helpful staff (Ebru!)
Good hotel, but small room.
Good for short stay!
Terrace is beautiful, rooms are tiny, can’t even move. Staff are wonderful. Great location and perfect for short stays especially in istanbul as you’ll be out most of the day. Showers are great.
Excellent budget option near all the sights in Sultanahmet. Very friendly staff, nice clean room, comfortable bed, and great breakfast with a view. They also stored our luggage for us before and after we checked out so we could explore town. I would stay here again.
We were absolutely delighted with our room. It was spacious, luxurious and clean. We had a lovely view of the terrace. It is perfectly located in the heart of all there is to see in Istanbul. Restaurants on your doorstep. We fully recommend this hotel. The staff are most friendly and the breakfasts are excellent!
The staff were very kind and helpful. Erzin was amazing with giving directions and his funny jokes. The hotel is a perfect spot for local attractions and bazaars.
The hotel is in a very strategic area where you are close to everything. The staff mainly the boy and the girl (i’d say in their early-mid 20s) at the terrace during break are very helpful and nice to everyone. The rooms are very small you can barely fit a bag/two in there but sound proof. However, i have booked this hotel because of the ratings it got regarding cleanliness and unfortunately its not that clean. Bed sheets were stained when we areived, they didnt change them the entire , week, towels are not clean and we had to ask the receptionist to change them! One day we asked for rroom service and when we got back to the hotel nothing was done and it was a mess.
Convenient location with several key sights well within walking distance. Friendly staff and clean well-kept rooms. There is a mosque nearby so light sleepers may be woken up in the morning. Overall excellent value for the price.
Great place. Very nice and kind staff. Super close to Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosk … will not go wrong if you stay there.
They offer me very small room..in Istanbul noise st.. it's not worth the money I paid.
Probably more suited to single or couples as the rooms are slighly small but other than that. Excellent and friendly and very helpful.
Staff extremely helpful and went the extra mile with arranging our airport transfers
1. The location was great. 10/10 2. The breakfast was okay. 7/10 3. The cleanness was not that good. The bed is good but under the bed for example wasn't. 5/10 4. The receptionists were good and friendly. 10/10
This Hotel is located in a very good place. It is near to all the historic places we were planning to visit. Also, there are plenty of excellent restaurants within walking distance. it is a clean and comfortable hotel. and the best of all, the staff makes you feel as if you are at your home. any issue is resolved immediately and with a very good attitude. We will book Zeynep Sultan Hotel next time we visit Istanbul.
It was a nice clean place with a nice breakfast area terrace
Great hotel, comfortable, nice and helpful staff and good breakfast.
Nice place to visit the historical area of Istabul
Check in was completed by Yavuz, a very professional front desk representative who did the best for our accommodation. Location is perfect, walking distance to all historical places. The hotel is very clean. In general all the staff was very kind and helpful, except one of them in the breakfast area. A long hair guy pretty rude.
Nice and small boutique hotel. Good location, between Sultanahmet and Guilhane Parki tram stops. 5 min do Hagia Sophia by foot. Staff was super friendly. They gave istanbul cards to some guest when they runout from the kiosks. My compliments to the breakfast hostess. Very friendly, helpful, doing her job right. Thank you.
Good
Excellent! Reception staff was kind and super helpful! The hotel is located at a very convenient location and within walking distance from major attractions! My family
Little gem
Love this hotel, perfect location
Great location easy walking distance for restaurants, shops and sites and wonderful breakfast.
My choice of hotel in the Old City
Zeynep Sultan's staff are courteous and caring; they are its greatest asset. The hotel occupies a prime location within five minutes walk from the heavyweight sights, and yet is tucked down a quiet street. Rooms are bright, with modern facilities, and clean. Breakfast is reliable and generous. I have stayed here on four occassions, twice with friends both of whom still talk glowingly about their experience here.
Friendly staff, great location, nice breakfast. Air con didnt work in room.
Good location, friendly & helpful staff. Rooms were tight. Bathroom quite small.
Friendly and helpful staff especially Murat and his colleague . Great location and clean hotel. Good breakfast but same food every day. It might be worth changing the menu.
Great location, annoying situation.
The hotel was in a great location but when I got there they moved me to a different hotel and I then had to switch back to that hotel after one night. It was pretty obnoxious to have to go through that whole nonsense during my trip. Besides that, the room was alright. AC was pointing at a wall so it took a while for the room to get comfortable (because you have to have your key in something on the wall for the electric and AC to work, so it’s not on when you’re gone.) breakfast was really great and the staff seemed pretty nice. If they didn’t move me I would likely have a better review.
Very close to the attractions. Very quiet place. I’ll visit again soon.
Charming, unbeatable location, great breakfast
Hotel is very charming, has a wonderful location, great breakfast buffet. Rooms are very nice, if a bit on the tight side, with lovely bathrooms. Unbeatable location - a quiet side street beneath the Aya Sofia but within minutes of the main hubbub of Sultanahmet. Manager was present at breakfast and introduced himself, which was a nice touch. Disappointed that we weren't given a triple room with 3 separate beds as we had requested, not really apologetic that they weren't able to give us this, but we managed as it was only a one-night stay.
Beside mediocre breakfast, everything else great!
We like everything about the hotels, from the location to the friendly service and nice room. The only set back perhaps was the breakfast was not as good or better than others that we had. Nevertheless, the breakfast was still alright.
Great value, great location
This is an excellent midrange choice in the heart of old Istanbul. Rooms are spotless and well appointed, though slightly on the small side. There is a wide choice for breakfast and the wifi signal is good. The staff are particularly cheerful and welcoming. It’s easily and cheaply accessed from Ataturk airport by the Metro system. This hotel is exceptional value and I will stay there again.
Nice hotel close to the attractions like hagh sophia and blue mosque
Ideal location
Very well located hotel, helpful staff . Really enjoyed our stay there.
great location
the location is great but the beds are quiet small and the rooms can be tight
Great location
Great location, staff and breakfast. Rooms are small.
Excellent choice for solo traveller
a homey style hotel in an alley which is five minutes walk to the Sultanahmet Square. excellent location and very convenient. Clean. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast is a healthy and delicious. I can't ask for a better deal.
Great Location - Nice hotel overall
the location is really great at the heart of sultan ahmet area ... the hotel in general is nice and cozy .. the staff are also nice and they are willing to help you to get around istanbul
Excellent location, friendly staff specially mr. Erol , clean and comfortable
Fantastic boutique hotel, definitely recommend!
This is an excellent small hotel which is very well located in the heart of Sultanahmet. It is very close to Gulhane tram stop and there are two supermarkets nearby for your convenience. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful with any of your needs, be it from information about Istanbul or the hotel's services. The hotel is close to all of the major tourist attractions. Despite it being a small hotel, the is staff there 24/7. The hotel is family friendly. The rooms exceeded expectations and were very comfortable. The breakfast has a great variety to suit all people and the food was always fresh. There is an indoor and outdoor dining area which makes it suitable for all weather conditions. Me and my wife stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks in November and are very happy with our stay. We are returning guests and we have been very happy with our choice each time.
Room excellent hotel all round great. No complaints at all would certainly return
One minute to everything
This hotel was only one small block away from many of the main sights of Istanbul. Easy to get to by metro then tram. Only downside was the size of the room which was for 2 people but no room to walk around the bed or set down more than one suitcase. Nice touch was the excellent breakfast buffet which was an excellent start to the day.
beautiful hotel,centrally located, friendly staff
the staff were fantastic and so friendly they made our stay thoroughly enjoyable even before we got to turkey they organised transfers for us. the room we stayed in was cozy clean and well decorated and we were lucky enough to have a view of the hagia sofia the location is great less then a 5 minute walk to all major attractions. we would come back and stay again without hesitation. we can say enough positive things about the zeynup sultan and its wonderful people.
Perfect location
Everything you need to see in Istanbul is within walking distance. Everything about this hotel is wonderful, food, rooms, service, staff, location and price. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone.
Top choice for city break
Hotel has ideal location near the entrance of Taopkapi palace, under the Hagia Sofya. Hotels condition is perfect, staff is polite. Minor deficiencies could be small surface of the room and maybe variety of the breakfast (I miss pomegranate, turkish delights and fried eggs). After all, I have no complaints about Zeynep Sultan Hotel and I recommend it to everybody, specialy to those who has short staying (citybreak) in the city.
Great ! Nice hotel goid staf good locstion delicious food very clean room and big smiles in all personals
Very nice..perfect hotel with better service
Nice hotel in Sultanahmet
Lovely little hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Close to Blue Mosque, restaurants and shops.
Lovely boutique hotel
Hotel was great and very well located - walking distance to tokapi palace, hagia sofia, blue mosque as well as restaurants. Staff very kind and helpful as well. Only bad thing was the internet was not working in our room. I had to come to the lobby area each time to use the internet.
Great
Overall the hotel has very nice décor, the breakfast was very good and the location was perfect for Sultanahmet. It is near the main street but not on it. Once again the location is perfect.
Staff was very helpful.
Very good hotel - close to major attractions
- Clean rooms - Friendly and helpful staff - descent breakfast - Perfect location - walking distance to major attractions and restaurants
Very nice hotel in the heart of old Istanbul
What a neat little boutique hotel. Warm, welcoming staff greet you. Rooms have been renovated since my last stay 10 years ago. Excellent air conditioned room with small but well annointed bath and shower. Well stocked breakfast on the terrace each morning and lots of good coffee. And the price was so good for being at the heart of the old city. Close to the Metro system and trolley cars. Both my wife and I enjoyed our stay.
Exellent hotel for old Istanbul touring
Nice clean room at reasonable cost. Air conditioned, but no lift to 3rd floor. Great Terrace for a nice Turkish breakfast. Well worth the visit for a few days in the Sultanahmet area of Istanbul.
My only concern is that the place was a little noisy. Thin walls, perhaps?
Zeynep Sultan Hotel
What a wonderful hotel. Highly recommended. Staff super friendly and helpful.
In the middle of everything
I and a party of three others stayed at this hotel in April. The staff could not have been more helpful and our rooms met all and more of our expectations We wanted to explore the old city and we could walk everywhere from the hotel. Would highly reo\commend.
Nice hôtel very close to principal attractions
Free buffet breakfast, basic but OK, quite helpful staff. Rooms also OK in a good neighbourhood. 5 minutes walk from Topkapi and restos, but on a quiet little steet. However, the rooms are (as usually) not insonorised and we had for two nights some odd Turkish neighbours with a child king ( 6- 8 year old) making much noise, probably disturbing a great part of the other guests from 10 to 2 or 3 A.M... When I complaint about this, the staff admit I was right and said that they usually don,t accept families with young child (?). They where ready to change our room even if this family was leaving this same morning. I suppose these occasionnal problems can happen anywhwere...We had no other problems during the 3 other nights, so we recommand this hôtel.
Welcoming hotel, great locatıon.
Fantastic servıce from a courteous, good-humoured,professıonal staff, made us feel thoroughly comfortable, and at home. Problems wıth the water pressure ın our second floor room were attended to ımmedıately and to our satısfactıon, and we enjoyed returnıng to our room after frequent forays in the cıty. The room was small, so those wıth lots of luggage might struggle ın the space, but we were fine wıth one large suitcase and one small one. The location ıs unbeatable, and our first view on leavıng our room to go down to breakfast was the Aya Sofya, framed ın the window by the staircase - sensational. I've been to İstanbul many times, usually stayıing wıth friends, but at several hotels when there with my husband or family members. This will now be my hotel of choice. No need to look around anymore!
same price, a whole different class
it was nice, but, even if you pay almost the same price you pay in North America, don't expect the same comfort. The location is great, the personal is great too, but the room itself is sooo small and basic... the shower is like a vertical coffin, barely having enough space to move your arms and so is the bathroom. The breakfast is ok but it was EXACTLY the same everyday...not one change.
Incredible location
The staff was very helpful and friendly. It was especially nice to be able to have breakfast outdoors on the terrace. The owner was often around during breakfast, and he was a genuine and lovely guy.
very friendly staff, but not great accommodation
We really liked the staff and the cleanliness. Location is very convenient. But the room was pretty minimal, no view at all, very small, two twin beds pushed together. Window facing into tiny courtyard, you hear everybody if you open the window. And the breakfast was the worst I had in Istanbul, this is my sixth trip. Not a relaxing place. Would be good for young single people or couples who need a very basic place to sleep for the night.
Location, location, location!
As one might expect in a boutique hotel in an old-world city, the rooms were relatively small, the showers were very small, and amenities were limited. However, there was free wi-fi, an amazing view of the Hagia Sofia from the third floor window, and helpful staff (they booked airport returns and a Bosporus cruise for us). The hotel was comfortable. The A/C worked. The third floor room was a bit larger than the first floor room. But, this is about location, location, location. Staying in the Old City, one block from Hagia Sofia, for an affordable price is amazing! I would happily stay at Zeynep Sultan again.
Highly recommended
This is a small, unpretentious hotel in the heart of the old town, whose resident owners made our holiday. The breakfast room on the roof is the perfect place to start your day, where the owners not only personally serve you breakfast, but provide advice on everything from the weather to the best time to visit the most popular sites and all the best places to eat. And you can walk to everything. Why would you want to stay anywhere else?
Hotel had an excellent location for walking to all main sites with an awesome view from the terrace, good access to public transportation, friendly and very helpful staff, excellent breakfast, room basic but comfortable. Only negative is that the vent in the bathroom seemed to transmit/receive sounds from other bathrooms. However, I would stay here again and would recommend it to others.
Welcoming hotel right by Aya Sofia
Lovely rooftop terrace for breakfast. The room was basic but comfortable. I couldn't get the TV to work. The bathroom was tiny, but clean and everything worked. The biggest selling point is the location, right by Gulhane Park and Aya Sofia - really couldn't be bettered in the old peninsula I think - it's a quiet back street, so there is hardly any street noise. We are a married gay couple and we were made to feel extremely welcome by the staff and the owner.
Great Location!
This hotel is in the heart of the old city, 2 blocks from most of the tourist sites. My wife and I had a wonderful stay there. The hotel room was clean comfortable, and exactly what we expected. The breakfast was delicious, with good choices. The owner is outstanding and the staff are helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a safe area. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Istanbul.
Third Stay and Still Enjoying It!
The staff and accommodations are great for the area. Reasonably priced and always a warm reception by staff wanting you to experience the best of the Istanbul experience.
Nice hotel in amazing location.
The staff is amazing with a wonderful owner to greet you at breakfast each morning. The hotel is very clean and comfortable and within a five minute walk from The Hagia Sofia and many other terrific sites in the Old City section of Istanbul.
Inexpensive hotel right down the street from the Hagie Sophia. Hotel was clean, breakfast was good, staff was very friendly. At that price point I was expecting less, so I was very happy with this hotel. Would stay here again.
