A good location for price

It was an excellent choice. It is a convenience location to go many different places by public transpotaion. The room was clean, the services was outstanding, the staff were very professional, and the price was reasonable.

Good location. The facility is a little bit old. There are not whole lot of restraunt nearby

Convention Center Trip

Very nice close to the subway and the convention center. Also very close to the museum and the Beijing ZOO

Pleasant stay

Overall the experience is good. Excellent service from few of the staff while a few needs to be trained. Executive lounge has very limited food and drink options. Realized that most of the food items are recycled from morning breakfast. Leakage of water from bathroom to bedroom each time we shower. Maintenance is required.

I'll only list negatives - please understand that, beyond this, my experience was wonderful! (1) The bed was a little too firm (2) The status of the room as smoking/non-smoking was a little vague (3) Communication with staff could occasionally be somewhat problematically limited given language barrier [Otherwise excellent stay!]

Very nice hotel with great staff. Like almost everything in China there is a charge for almost everything. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and very good staff.

Great hotel with a great service

I liked everything about this hotel. First of all, the staff was great, changed my room which was in the other building to the one I went initially. They have a huge, beautiful lobby. The standard twin room was spacious, top notch clean, beds were comfy and tall and overall the interior design was great. The bathroom was lovely, with separate shower and a bathtub, and good closets to put our suitcases. I would book this hotel again and again, especially for the deal we got, it was worth it

Not bad, can visit again

Chose Xiyuan Hotel as we brought our overseas suppliers with us. Had our meals at VIP Level which was good. However when checking out, the service was very slow and we waited for a long time. Hope they can improve on that area.

Disappointed stay in Beijing

-Dirty rooms, bathrooms, halls, everything smelling cigarettes -If you do not speak Chinese, look for another hotel. The staff cannot understand you -Everything is limited...bathroom supplies, etc. -Pool and health room very disappointing, dirty and not inviting -I would not stay again and for the price I paid I am sure I can find something much better

Great hotel

It was a nice stay. The hotel was clean. There is a faint smell of cigarettes but not unbearable. Location was nice. Close to the Capital stadium.

Outdated fabilities and extremely rude staff

The staff in the concierge are rude. They fell very reluctant to help the guests. The room is poorly designed, gym and pool are not usable. It is worst experience among all the hotel stays in China for me. I will never recommend anyone to stay there.

Overall, a good stay

We stayed in a deluxe room, which was nice. Wifi was slow, but I found that to be true at all of the hotels in China. The shower had a rain shower in it, as well as a deep tub. So that was nice. It was close to a bus station and train station, and more importantly close to our friends. So that is why we chose this hotel. However, we didn't do much in the neighborhood, so I can't comment on that. Their english was challenging, and it took a good 30 minutes to check in. But all was good in the end. The Chinese breakfast was very good

Beware counterfeit notes, including from ATMs

Hotel was good value generally, but staff have limited English, only went to one restaurant in the hotel which was fine. However, be warned that ATMs in China give out counterfeit notes. I used the lobby ATM of the Bank of China, and while only got one fake CNY100 note out of 10, others on the web got worse results. Hotel sends you to the bank, who send you to the police, who send you back to the bank. Nobody willing to deal with it or make you whole. Best to just go into banks AND check notes before leaving.

Clean close to subway

Comfortable room. All facilities but stay in hotel not villas. Not many people at hotel with English understanding. Limited and expensive coffee shop for refreshments.

Bad business hotel

The Internet is slow. It's unusable. The staff are begrudgingly helpful. It's not a business hotel.

Impressive stay in the Main Building of the Hotel

During our previous trips, we were allocated rooms in the Annex Building which were not good. The online booking options for the last 2 years defaulted to the Annex Building only. This year we managed to book rooms in the Main Building which is a vast difference in terms of the quality of the room and beds. Breakfast and service were good too.

Over all is good. It,s not good to knock the door too early to clean the room for service.always they forget to put one time slippery and tooth brush

Xiyuan booking through Hotels.com

The room is not in the main building but smaller building so called "villas". The common area and room are seedy, very old with limited amenities. It does not have wi-fi and it's about 3 minutes walk from the main building. This is very disappointing. I stayed in the main building after these two nights through my own tour group and everything is significantly better. My booking through Hotels.com is a huge disappointment.

Uncomfortable stay

I checked in early in the morning and was disappointed that I could not get hot water in the shower and that the airconditioning was not worling well. I therefore managed to only get a few hours sleep after spending the last 2 weeks in a remote part of China. Disappointing indeed!

Pleasant stay at Xiyuan Hotel

Stay was pleasant; room was tidy and clean. No wi-fi internet access though in our room (which was not a business suite). Breakfast not included either. Good stay with convenient access to loads of places, including Beijing Zoo, Forbidden City, etc.

Xiyuan Hotel, near Beijing Zoo

The hotel is very well situated for the Zoo & impressive aquarium as well as the planetarium & Paleozoological museum. The nearest Subway station, Beijing Zoo station, is just 5 minutes away & gives easy access to most of the city (Tiananmen Square & Forbidden city 40 mins, for example). But there is little else of interest to tourists within walking distance. I stayed 1 week whilst visiting friends. My room was situated in one of the three villas, a few hundred metres from the main building. It was clean & quiet. In the adjacent restaurant, little English was spoken but the staff were friendly & the food excellent. The rooftop restaurant is supposedly one of the best in the city but wasn't used by me on this visit. Breakfast in the lobby area was very good, with a huge variety of western & Chinese food available, but was very expensive to pay for separately. In general, I found the hotel comfortable and quite convenient & would stay there again.

Not for everyone

Not too bad. Some hassle at check in about two beds and bigger room. Lots of cigarette smoke and some funky odors. Tough to get a taxi to drop off at lobby. Got cards for nearby hotel and walked from there. Off the main path, not for first timers or picky travelers.

Don't book a villa room, rooms in normal hotel are fine

Aside from staying in a villa room which was in a completely different building from the main hotel, the experience was not that bad. Don't book a villa room, though, as they are smaller, older, smokier, and less comfortable than the normal rooms. Also, when I checked out, the staff noticed I had left a shirt in my room and called the front desk so they could stop me before I left.

ドアをノークせずに、勝手に入ってくること！ ホテル玄関のboyにタクシーに聞いても曖昧な返答しかない！ このホテルの従業員は”サービス”ってわかっていない、あるいは したくない！

タワーの本館に宿泊

翌日、別の都市へ移動するため北京に一泊した際に利用しました。地下鉄の動物園駅、白石橋南駅から　どちらも10分程度。とくに治安が悪いわけではないのですが、到着が夜半にになったので少々、不気味な感じがしました。 ホテルの本館は明るくて近代的なビル、本館の横に低層階の別館が数棟あります。今回はルームアップグレイドしてもらえたので別館の予約だったのですが、本館の高層階に泊めてもらえました！ でも別館も外観ではそう悪くなく、中国らしい部屋を味わうには、これもありかな、と思いました。

Good well functioning Beijing hotel

Comfortable good option for hotel if this side of Beijing is convenient for your visit. Good food, tough the coffee shop in the lobby is pricey. Second floor Chinese restaurant great for local cuisine, while top floor revolving restaurant great for the view and atmosphere. Hotel staff fluent in English.

服务员没有笑容，房间里的浴帽、牙刷等必用品常常忘记放在房间里。住了七天没换过被套枕套和床单。卫生间的卫生纸也不给足。于是陈旧破烂。

Helt okej rum, men stark lukt av mögel i badrummet och brunt vatten i kranen sista dagen. Långsamt wi-fi. Trevlig västerländsk frukostbuffé på våning 26. Engelsktalande personal i receptionen.

Det börjar märkas att detta hotellet börjar komma till åren. Det är byggt 1954 och är i stort behov av en renovering av rummen. Har bott här sen mitten på 80 talet och då var det riktigt bra. Prisvärt men som sagt i behov av renovering. Tapeter som börjar släppa och mögel angrepp och då bodde jag endå på 18:e våningen.

駅近、最低限のホテル

メインビルディングではなく、数十メートル離れた低層の建物にある部屋に宿泊しました。 室内は古かったですが、最低限のものはそろっている感じがしました。 チェックインの際は時刻が遅かった為か、日本語を話せるスタッフはいませんでしたが、英語で会話ができました。 チェックアウトの際には日本語を話せるスタッフが対応してくれました。 北京大学に用事があり宿泊しましたが、地下鉄の駅が近く、便利でした。

hotel viejo e incomodo.

regular, almohadas durisimas, baño con hongos, el personal de limpueza muy atento pero el hotel muy viejo y si no es en el edificio pruncipal muy incómodo. la tv sólo con un canal en inglés. lo único bueno es que esta cerca de una estación del metro.

地理位置很好，离动物园很近，交通便利 作为老牌宾馆，虽然略微陈旧，但是也物超所值。适合家庭经济型出行
