Ximen WOW Hostel

I found this hostel to be "a posh hostel" and it has a very good location, due to it being situated in the middle of the entertainment district in Taipei. There is a karaoke venue in the building and light sleepers would be wise to bring some quality earplugs with them. Even though I stayed at the hostel during a weekend, I was not in any way bothered by noise from other guests coming back from a night out on the town. The staff kept the hostel clean.

Great hostel, very clean. Location is superb!

Overall experience was okay. Love that it’s located in the center of Ximen and near subway and bus station. Heads up for those who cannot sleep with loud noise. I dont have sleeping problem so it’s okay but it’s quite loud at night, just like how others have reviewed it. Perfect for those who needs only a bed to sleep like me.

Very convenient for a very affordable price

Stayed for two nights. Overall is a comfort place to stay. Balcony is nice. Toilet smells really bad tho. Drain was blocked at the shower area. Consider the price and environment still a bargain. Easy check out and check in processes. Everything at the floor step.

Down stair is karaoke...

the hostel was in the center of Ximen and very easy to access to the area. However downstair was a karaoke place and people were singing all night. Too noisy. No more for me.

The location is 10/10, the shared space is pleasant, bathrooms are well kept and clean, breakfast is basic but fine and free water and tea/coffee is a good touch. They keep the air con to Arctic conditions during the night though and make sure you bring good ear plugs because the kareoke down stairs goes on till past 1am and it can clearly be heard from bed.

Location is good and convenient but the bathroom and toilet is dirty. This place is very noisy as well both out side and inside. I had one terrible night that someone came in very late and make loud noise open and close door so louder after midnight. Also the last night room was too hot like no air. I return to my hometown with sickness. I really cannot recommend this play to friends or anyone.

Hostel staff were amazing and extremely helpful throughout my 5-night stay with them. Hung out with them and some even showed me around the city :) The location of WOW Hostel is perfect. Ximending is filled with good food, drinks, shops and pubs. A mere 3mins walk from Ximen MRT Station is the key here. With 2 major lines intersecting at Ximen MRT Station, it makes it convenient to travel anywhere in Taipei. The common is a great place to meet other travelers and hang out when you need a break. I love the outdoor area that overlooks the bustling crowds of Ximending. Provides a good respite from all the buzz on the streets. Rooms were clean and sheets were freshly made. The pathway might get a little crammed but it isn't too much of an issue because there're plenty of bed space. Wouldn't feel claustrophobic at all. There are also curtains for personal privacy. Toilets and showers are shared but still clean at all times. Soap and shampoo are provided too! Already missing the hostel staff. Would highly recommend travelers traveling in Taipei to stay with them!

The bed was pretty spacious, unlike many hostels I've stayed, the bunk beds were stable and did not make any annoying squeaky noises that was a huge plus. However, downstairs runs a karaoke place and you could hear people sing, there were free ear plugs provided at the front desk but if you are a sensitive sleeper than this not be your ideal place to stay. It was a bearable noise to me and I didn't use the ear plugs. The downside of the hostel was the lack of the restroom and shower rooms, you might have to wait for shower in the morning. If the restrooms are full, I'd just bring everything I need for the day and head out to use the restroom in the MRT, I've done that a few times, luckily MRT isn't far. Very convenient location, and friendly staff, the wifi seemed not always steady for me but overall it's worth the price.

Lovely stay

good location in downtown and lovely staff. Space is small but nicely decorated. Self-service breakfast, please be expected to queue for cooking facility during serving hours because there in only one stove.

It was a really nice hostel. The location is near metro and the shopping district. All their staff are accomodating and hospitable. Our bed is big enough for two people. The only downside is they only have one outlet near our bed so we had to timed our electronics to charge all of it.

STAFFS ARE VERY FRIENDLY, ROOM AND BREAKFAST WAS NICE. ALTHOUGH AIRCON IS NOT COLD AT FIRST BUT WHEN I REQUESTED TO INCREASE THE COLDNESS THEY RECTIFY RIGHT AWAY. 3 MINS WALK TO MRT, FOODSTALLS, SHOPPING, ETC..THANK YOU GUYS. I WILL GO BACK AGAIN WITH :-)

Ximen

The area is nice and convenience that you can get to everywhere in a easy way. The hostel is on the 8/f and 7/f is karaoke so you can hear people singing in the midnight.

Only an issue is the entrance of this building, because it is same block with a night entertainment club, feel uncomfortable and insecure for females. Good for budget or backpacker traveler, in terms of dorm style accommodation it's consider great option Free breakfast (I love it very much although everyday same and self service) having lot of fun making own. This is my second time to live here, It's a nice, clean and cheap backpacker, and the location is perfect in Ximen that really convenice to get food. The staffs are kind and polite that I'm really happy to stay in Ximen, I'll visit again, thank you.

Very conveniently located

Very conveniently located in the middle of ximending, easy to ind with big landmarks around. Staff are very helpful and friendly, greets you everytime you come in or leave. Amenities are also in good condition.

The location is very convenient and here is quite energetic, but the photos look much better than the actual place, it makes me feel a bit disappointed.

I knew after reading reviews that there's an issue on karaoke few floors down but I still booked as I really wanted to try this place and Ximending is hardly a serene and quiet place. Checking in the staff gave me earplugs and this confirmed everything. But I came prepared with my mp3 and earphones. Early on the night you could hear some singing (but not blaringly loud). Quite surprisingly the singing started subsiding until it was all too quiet. This happened until the very last night of my 3 night stay. Overall I liked my stay and hope to visit again.

Nice Hostel but a little hard to find. Convenient

It Was a nice hostel. The place was kept clean. The hostel is located on the 14th floor of a building in the middle of a "walking street" and can be a little hard to spot. At night when the "WOW" sign is visible, the place is easier to find. There are many types of shops within seconds walk from the Hostel. In the evenings the area can get jam packed with people and you can loose your bearings pretty easily. Just take your time and it will be fine. Taxis do not often come down the street, however public transport is only 5 minute walk away and very convenient. The rooms in the hostel are packed with beds. Most rooms are "combined" sexes. If you only want to be in a room with your own gender then I suggest you book an "all men" or "all women" dorm. The bathroom is also a "mixed gender" bathroom. All the stalls and all the showers have individual doors with locks. The showers are annoyingly small and annoying to change in. If you have a large body frame you will find it very difficult. The free breakfast available is toast and jam. Eggs and a frying pan are provided if you want to cook. Some friends is are also available for sale in the refrigerator. WiFi works well and is quite fast. Check in and check out were fast and simple. There is a nice balcony to sit on to chat with other people or just relax. The view is nothing to write home about. Some of the staff speak English well, others not so well. All the staff were nice and helpful. I would stay here again .

Great location, great value for money

We had an awesome time staying at Ximen WOW Hostel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was available every morning and coffee is free 24/7. Wifi is good too. Our room had 10 "pods" (bunk beds but like capsules) with an access to the balcony. Our beds were located around the other side of the room that was not directly accessed by the a/c so there was a night that it was a little hot in our side of the room. The next night this was immediately addressed and they turned the a/c up a bit. Location was superb, though the building where the hostel is needs some improvement. The hostel is located on the 8th floor of an old building with creepy and smelly elevators. Almost every night we rode the elevators with men smoking inside so the elevators smelled bad and it felt suffocating staying there. The floors below the hostel hosts karaoke and night clubs so in our room we could hear singing and music till the wee hours of the morning. We were given ear plugs for this. Bathrooms and toilets were communal. They do not provide towels for free, but you can buy them for a cheap amount. Note though that the towels they sell are small hand towels and not bath towels. You should bring one if you prefer bigger towels. Overall our stay was great and we will consider staying there again if we're back in Taipei.

I love it there

It's in the center of shopping area and really easy to go to anywhere by MRT. The hostel is clean and nice. Only that there is construction going on in the same building so you really wake up early because of the noise.

Average hostal - great location

Small space in the rooms but large bed area with useful personal safe Bathrooms were cramped and ALWAYS wet, especially the sink areas Kitchen was fine but breakfast was again a very tight ordeal...the procedures were not properly explained to me. The staff were friendly and the common areas were big and generally very nice

Overall is ok. However air conditioning is off during the day. Room is this very stuffy and smelly during that time. Not comfortable at all if come back during the afternoon to catch a quick nap. Other than that everything else is pleasant

Very clean, modern and trendy hostel. A good base for young people staying in Taipei. However, there was no atmosphere. Always quiet and not much going on. But most hostels I have stayed in in Taiwan are like this.

In the Heart of Ximen Taipei

Ximen is a great location to explore Taipei and Ximen WOW is in the midst! Biggest cons about this lodging are a) karaoke singing from old school taiwanese KTV occupying 4-6 floors in the building and b) compact number of beds in the dorm room. You can always ask for ear plugs at the reception for free. Despite the number of guests, the reception & the entire staff is excellent. Most guests are very respectful in the room by keeping noise & talking to a minimum. Common hang out area & kitchen with outdoor patio is a nice escape after being out. Wifi is fast.

There are tourists all around the world and we chatted in the common area. The staff sre very polite and helpful. The only disadvantage is that the hostel is upstair of the karoke room which the noise is quite annoying.

Located in the shopping area, very near to the mrt station and easily reachable.The workers were friendly and helpful. They provide satisfactory self service breakfast.The good thing is they also provide cheap and self laundry service.

Extremely convenient location and great atmosphere

I arrived early and went to the hostel to put my stuff and they attended to my request very promptly because its not time to check in yet so i left my luggage under their care and proceeded to my itinerary and when im back at night they had already prepared my bed and card key and guided me to my bed. Th staff also showed me around and help me understand their place and some house rules before staying in. Very warm welcome from them. And its a great atmosphere in the hostel because people talk to each other and i'm really glad i made some new friends during the stay including the very kind staff, Billy, Wendy and Kate. Every night i look forward to going back to the hostel after a whole day of walking to gather with my new pals to end the day with drinking some Taiwan beer and snacking. I'm not bothered by the karaoke because they provided the earplugs and i slept extremely well and privacy was adequate. Only the toilet is a bit tight and not a lot of basins outside a bit cramp at the washing area. Other than that I'll love to be back to the hostel whenever i'm back in Taipei.

XiMenWow Hotel

Nice budget Hotel. With clean and nice environment. Nice decorations, friendly stuffs.

Hotel location is great. It is close to the train. The room and bathroom are clean.

Convenient location, minimalist accommodations.

The hostel is well situated at Ximending, a short walk away from Ximen MRT station. It's well kept and clean, with adequate facilities. The lockers provided will not fit even the smallest hard case luggage, but everyone seems happy leaving their luggages in an area along the corridor. Beds are separated half by a wall, half by a curtain, so privacy might be a concern for some. Breakfast provided is simple but adequate. Overall, a decent experience considering the price.

安かろう悪かろうって感じでした。結局写真では判断できないですね。写真はオープンしたての時の写真なんですかね実際はシャワールームは上からの固定で使いずらく、洗面所は結構汚れたりしてました。夜は下の階なのかカラオケがうるさかったり、クーラーが効きすぎてて寒くて眠れないってフロントに訴えたのにも関わらずその場で温度を下げてくれたけど、結局温度が23度に下がってたりしてエアコンが部屋ごとではなくて、フロント一括管理の為フロントがいないとダメで辛かった。西門町に初めて宿泊したけどMRTからは近いけど私には向かない町だったので次回はもうちょっと静かなホテルに宿泊します。

西門町に用事があり、急遽宿泊を決めました。 ラブホと一緒のビルなので、少々入りづらいですが、慣れて仕舞えば最高の立地です。シャワールームが値段相応という感じですが、特に不満はありません。 スリッパの無料貸出、施設内にランドリー、キッチンがあります。 スタッフはとても親切です！

等一次入住如這類型共享住宿，整體還可以，下面就是購買飲食的地方，交通也很方便，唯一廁所和浴室比較細小😅

事前にもらってたレイトチェックインのパスワードが違っていたのかエラーで入室できなく、電話をかけても誰も出なかった。 タオルは付いてないので持参する必要がある。

立地以外は最低レベル。客の質がとんでもなく低い。 夜中でも話し声がうるさい、ドアの開け閉めも気を使わずガチャガチャバーンとうるさい(ドアすぐ横のベッドだったがドアの閉まる時の衝撃でベッドが揺れて目が覚める。そもそもイージークローザーが付いてない時点でホテルとしてありえない) トイレは流さない客が居る(しかも何度も目撃)、朝は女が手洗い場を占領、シャワー室には足を拭くマットもない、タオルは別料金。あと2階下のフロアからカラオケの音が漏れてくる。 ハイシーズンとは言えこれで一日5000円とはアッパレですわ。二度と利用しない。

真的很吵

位置是優點也是缺點，西門町之中方便也吵雜。看評論有預期會吵，以為我自己是不怕吵的人，窗戶不是隔音窗，所以即使在7樓一樣清楚聽見街頭藝人還是舞廳的音樂，還帶了耳罩式抗躁耳機也沒用。除此之外沒什麼大缺點。

地理位置非常方便，可是樓下是夜總會，每天晚上唱歌很大聲，隔音也不太好。

整個旅舍空間不大不小，但感覺很好 而且床舖很舒服，窩在床上都不想起床 位置就在西門町最熱鬧的中心地區 下樓買東西、吃美食 去其他地方遊玩都很方便 唯一不好是刷牙洗臉的洗手盤位置很容易積水 有點美中不足

スタッフは皆さん笑顔で感じが良いです。渡されるカード1枚で玄関・ルーム入口、ロッカー全て開閉しますので簡単な仕組みです。トイレとシャワールームは並んでいて、男女共用ですが、どの扉も鍵が曖昧なのでトイレに入ろうと扉を開けるとご対面もありました汗　そしてやはりトイレ前はにおいます。 タオル、スリッパの事前提供は無いです。週末利用しましたが、周辺は人がかなり多いので西門で遅くまで楽しみたいと思う人でないとどこか別の場所まで行こうと駅まで歩くのもスムーズではありません。 部屋の中は逆に静かで、ロッカー・ドア開閉の音が大きく気を使います。私はカラオケの音は遠くで聴こえる感じで気になりませんでした。 部屋によっては３方向カーテンで、カーテンレールも曲がっている場所があったので、割と中が見えます。シンプルに、シャワーしてトイレして寝るだけ！って方にオススメだと思います。テラスに出てビール飲むのはサイコーでした♪

私が使ったシャワーが使い方がよくわからなかったからなのか、不具合なのかわからないが水しか出なかった、、、。海外のカプセルホテル、と思えば大丈夫。

隔音很差

1泊だけの利用でしたが、立地とコストパフォーマンスは良いです。 見たかんじ若いスタッフだけで、アマチュア感はありますがきちんと聞けば親切に対応してくれますし、同年代の若者が泊まるには不都合なく逆に仲良くなれるかも。 値段相応のゲストハウスですので、書くまでもないですがホテル的な要素は期待すべきではありません。 最近できたのか、設備面での古さは無いのですが、他の方々が書かれているようにセキュリティボックスの作動音がびっくりするくらい大きい点、下のキャバクラ？のカラオケが深夜までうるさい点がかなりのマイナスポイントです。せっかくの良い立地と新しい設備なのに…惜しい。

시먼 한복판이라 접근성은 말 할 필요도 없고 가격도 싸고 아주 좋았습니다.

立地も良く、ゆっくり休めました！ 下のカラオケの音は聞こえてましたが、ここに泊まるという事は観光メインなので疲れて帰ってすぐ寝るので全く気になりませんでした。 また、台北に行く際は泊まりたいと思います！！

隔音比較不好

西門駅から徒歩2分ほどという抜群の立地に、清潔感のあるホステルでした。程よいベッドの広さ、無料の紅茶やコーヒー、そしてシャワー室も多数あり、良かったです。従業員の方も丁寧でした。１つ気になったことは、部屋のロッカーです。部屋に鍵付きロッカーがあるという事で安心していたのですが、鍵を使わずとも引っ張れば開きました。なのでベッドとロッカーを替えてもらいましたが、また鍵なしで力強く引けば開きました。なので大切なものをしまうにはセキュリティが甘いかなと、、、それ以外は最高でした。

大廳的音樂放到11點，樓下傳來的唱歌聲到半夜三點。完全沒辦法睡覺。 服務可以，床也夠寬。
