Good hotel well located

The hotel is located in the heart of the old town and super easy to get to Guanqian Street and Linden Street where many famous restaurants and entertainment venues are locations. The hotel’s facility is a bit old and it is carefully maintained. The hotel room is spacious and super quiet. Would definitely book this hotel next time we visit Suzhou.

Convenient. Located in the heart of Suzhou.

We got there around noon time， the staff was very friendly and found a room and let us check in. The room is clean and quiet。 There is a bus stop just outside the hotel， we used it to take buses to some famouse tourist destinations。And subway is only close to。

The hotel needs to be repaired and renovations. When I booked these 2 rooms paid for three people fee, and confirmed for 3 persons. When I checked in, the hotel front desk told me it doesn’t have room for three persons and said Expedia description is not correct. And let me the exact money.

Didn’t realize the hotel was so “old”! The room is so dark, lights aren’t bright enough! We’ve decided to check out instead of staying overnight!

Very nice service, staffs, manager Andy Chen provided useful and helpful information regarding the city and how to make our tours easier and convenient. The room is very clean and quiet. Very good location. Highly recommended.

This hotel was in a central location of Gusu. The check-in was streamlined and the staff are lovely. They helped to keep the luggages on the last day and even lent us their umbrellas. Double glaze windows are installed along the street side, so it is quiet at night. However, the faculties and carpets are bit old, part of the wall is not finished properly and some of the furnitures in the bathroom are broken.

Great hotel

Great hotel close to a metro station and Suzhou train station. Many restaurants and bars are around. It's nearby Guan Qian Shopping Street. Pretty convenient location. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and clean. I would definitely stay here again.

Thin walls (noise issue). I had a problem with hallway voices, voices in the next room, as well as ambient noise (bass) from nearby nightclub. With the voices from within the building, it’s almost as if the design amplified them or made them echo louder, ditto for the noise of closing doors on the rooms in my hallway. A truly terrible design for a hotel. Very little English spoken here, staff well meaning but it was hard even to check in, let alone deal with issues that came up. It shouldn’t be necessary to call the actual hotel manager in order to find someone with satisfactory English skills. Maybe I’m being unrealistic about hotels in provincial Chinese cities, though Suzhou is not exactly a small place. I had unusual problems with key card not working (electricity kept shutting off every few minutes, including once when I was in the shower) and perhaps as a related problem, the hotel safe gave me a “fail” message and would not open when I had a lot of valuables inside. Try explaining all that with only a translation app! I give hotel staff full credit for patiently trying to understand and help me out, but it was an unusually stressful and disappointing experience overall. This isn’t what international travelers/ Expedia users would expect. Noise problems aside, I’ve never encountered these issues before in years of international travel on several continents, including (on this trip) in other hotels in China.

Great hotel for visiting Suzhou

Very nicely designed hotel, especially the lobby, atrium and the main breakfast restaurant. Room also modern and comfortable. I’m very impressed and also love the location, being near the subway and plenty of eateries and shops just outside the hotel. Also even though it was in a busy area of Suzhou, noise isolation was superb!

Ok. Near mrt station and some food places nearby. Not as new as expected but peaceful environment.

Convenient, clean, comfortable

Location was fantastic. Minutes away from a main shopping area and also a metro stop. Very walkable to all areas. Staff is friendly, concierge is helpful and knowledgeable. Hot and cold tea on the lobby for convenience to travelers. Breakfast buffet was quality.

Place is old. Night scene is good.

Amazing hotel. Great happy hour prices and food! Pool was a rooftop delight. The staff was especially helpful and friendly.

Good location, easy to get to and a lot of attraction within walking distance

5 star charges, 3 star facility, 1 star service

We stayed in this hotel on the 9th of April 2018. At check in we found the front desk was in complete chaos. People came from all directions. The staff there were powerless to maintain any order and only responded to the loudest voices. The lady who served us was very unfriendly and rude. I noticed she wore a trainee tag. I was traveling with my parents and 2 other elderly relatives(all 80 plus years old) and we booked 3 rooms. We were put in rooms in 3 different levels even though we asked for rooms close to each other. When I came to my room, the first thing that struck me was the condition. The carpet was old and filthy. There were plenty of dirty yellow marks on the tiled floor and wall in the bathroom. The furniture were aged, discoloured and peeling. And then it came to a long list of things that were faulty. My basin was completely blocked and that I had to use the bathtub instead. The toilet wouldn't flush properly. The light switches on one side of the bed did not work. At check out we waited for a long time for someone to check the rooms before our deposit was refunded. It feels that the hotel did not trust its guests. The hotel is desperately in need of a full renovation. What's more disappointing is the unprofessional staff. Most of the girls at the front were trainees who didn't seems to know what they were doing. I helped with English translation as only one person spoke the language. An international hotel?

Good location.

Aircodition was not turning on as is still on spring but outside temperature is about 25 deg C. The room is very stuffy and unable to sleep at night.

needs maintainance

AC is too hot for winter. Toilet leaking from shower cubicle making the whole floor very wet. Needs some maintance and upgrading. Location wise its good cos very near to shopping area

We were shocked

We were party of three and Expedia description say twin room with 2 double beds. When we arrived in the room it was two single beds. Went downstairs to talk to the reception she said this is the only rooms we have with two.beds. So it either Expedia is wrong with the description or the hotel gave the wrong description. LUCKY we only stayed 1 night.

Falls a bit short

4 Night business stay. Hotel not bad but fell short of my expectations for a 4 star hotel. Shower old & a bit mouldy & fittings worn. Hotel very large & took a while to find gym which was a bit inaccessible. Reception refused to change USD100 into local currency on two occasions, claiming that they did not have enough cash! Escalated it on the second occasion & got the change. My room faced a nightclub & large electric signs - block-out curtains shut out the light & luckily I sleep well!

Excellent location

I have stayed here many times over the years. Very convenient location. Near temple, pedestrian street, about 100 m away from subway. Plenty of restaurant, shopping and pubs around. Never lonely and lively neighbourhood. If you want to be in a quiet hotel, this is not for you.

less than average

I was there for 3 nights. In overall it is less than average hotel. It could be ok, for price of 30usd, but for 70usd you can find better. My major concerns are: - mold on bathroom floor - room door was not closing tightly, several times I had to leave the door open!!! - room service was not responsive - personal does not speak English well... - gated entrance to the hotel front door, so taxi driver could nit drop you off under the roof, and if there is rain, you can become wet.

It is a so so one..

It is in a good location. but service is not to four star yet.

Good location, Good Room...but

Everything is almost perfect be it the room, location etc. The only difference in comparison with Younger (stayed earlier) is the additional service rendered by the staff. When asked to assist in getting a cab, they simply ask us to get from outside on our own. The doorman basically stands outside doing nothing like greeting, helping etc.

We ordered non Smoking room but we got a room with big smells. The location is great with a lot of shops nearby.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again,staff and service were very good.The room was clean although the carpet needed a shampoo as a few stains.Only other thing was the shower door wouldn't close properly and the grouting around the bottom of the shower needs renewing otherwise a very comfortable stay.

First class hotel. Excellent hotel service. Hotel received short notice from the Government Department which affected their electricity supply on that day we checked in. Staffs at the front desk were professional and absolutely patient. The only minuses are noisy honking of traffic (typical i China anyway) and loud merry makers (this is the busiest and central area of Suzhou). We came from Singapore and has high expectations and we are thoroughly won over. (We stayed in mid December, the low season period. We do not know if the services will be the same for peak period).

It is a convenient place to stay, but the bath room is wear and tear.

Great hotel - great location - great staff

Best location - close to bus line and shopping. Stunningly beautiful lobby. (Check out the luxurious women's bathroom off the lobby!) The ceiling in the hallways was low - hallways looked a little rundown and old-fashioned, but the rooms were modern. Our bathroom had a problem with the shower leaking - looked like a bit of mold growing on the wall tiles due to water damage. Very friendly and helpful staff - all speak some English. Extraordinary service. They upgraded us to a larger room for no charge.

insensitive hotel management

The room we booked said to have a city view, but we were assigned a very small and land-locked room in which for travelers from a very different time zone like us who really need the daylight constituted a major discomfort. Is this the insensitivity of the hotel staffs at check-in or hotels.com fails us? Afterall we had a three nights stay, the hotel is mostly empty and is having its own promotion of big discount rate with room upgrade and other benefits. Also, there was a water leak from the bathroom shower area to the bedroom area which left a patch of wet carpet. There seemed to have no concern for the house-keeping department.

Service in breakfast room was very bad.

Marco Polo Hotel is the old Sofitel hotel

This hotel just less than10min from the main Suzhou railway station, taxi only cost around 20CNY. Great location, central to everything, underground Metro just next door, bus stop right outside the hotel, food stalls & shopping all around, excellent reception service. I would definitely stay in this hotel again...highly recommended.

Helpful staff

The staff went the extra mile to be helpful. Useful gym and pool. Good for families. Walking distance to pingjiang lu. Buffet breakfast was weak compared to similarly priced hotels we went to in China.

I booked this place because of its location. Very close to the tourist area and in the middle of the city. However, the hotel needs serious renovation soon. The room was dark and kind of smelly. If it's a 3 star hotel, I might take what it is. But it's definitely not a five-star standard hotel.

Un peccato, bellissima struttura ma non adeguata.

Prenotata camera non fumatori, non fornita e senza nessun avviso. Vista della camera a ridosso di un muro. Tazze e bicchieri in camera mai puliti o sostituiti in tutto il soggiorno così come non reintegrati caffè e tè. Soprattutto un livello di umidità nella camera davvero esagerato, probabilmente dovuto alla posizione ma davvero disagevole (le giornate non erano umide, anzi). Un peccato perché la struttura è davvero bella, colazione ottima, seppur spesso carente nel reintegrare le cose finite (pane spesso mancante e macchine per il caffè bloccate).

The air conditioner is a bit too cold, can not to adjust. The only way was close it and there will cause some smell not well.

非常好的體驗, 酒店位置方便離地鐵站和街道都很近, 一開始見到外牆比較簡單也有點擔心, 但一進入酒店就十分驚喜, 內部很大很漂亮整潔, 而且很有特色;房間寬敞,設施也保養得很好, 職員也友善有禮 最令人驚喜的是早餐質素非常高, 選擇很多也很美味, 整體是十分好的住宿體驗^^ 下次再去也會選擇

位置非常好，到苏州主要景点都很方便的一个酒店，还有地铁也是。酒店的服务非常好，如果您问前台推荐苏州各种本地人去的地方和吃的东西，前台都会很殷勤的告诉你。非常卫生非常干净，唯一美中不足的是设施稍微有点老，这个可能对一些人来说是性价比打折扣的地方。

舒适、地理位置方便

地点很好，距离观前街很近。非常适合吃好饭逛街一下。房间很大，有很大的回廊，还有室外游泳池等。比较满意。

中式ホテルです。 地下鉄駅よりも近くアクセスはいいです。 周辺にも飲食店があり、ロケーション的にもまあまあ良いと思います。

구도시라 차가 막히는 점 빼곤 아주 좋습니다

綺麗でしっかりとしたスタッフの対応が良かった。ロビーが広く良かった。

ホテルは立地も良く、設備も良かったのですが、ナイトクラブのすぐ近くの部屋で、本当に夜中迄うるさく寝れませんでした。家族連れには適しません。

縫い針があって助かり、場所は街中とても便利です。ホテル名はなんか違うし、設備は古いけど、スタッフの方がフレンドリーで、とても良いホテルと感じました。

①部屋に小さい冷蔵庫が欲しい。 ②wifiの回線容量が小さい。 ③トイレはウォシュレットで。

員工很友善，交通也方便，只有早餐餐廳油煙味很重，用餐完身上油煙味久久不散，這會損害在此工作人員的健康，建議改善拍煙設施

地点非常便利，距离主要的经典也很近，周围有很多便利店和购物吃饭的地方，离地铁站10分钟左右。酒店也很干净整洁。如果目的是为了旅游观光的话，推荐！

來大陸出差很多地方，只要有溫德姆系列的酒店的我都會住。這次蘇卅也一樣。一進大廰氣派 前台服務人員親切 ，房間內空間也大 ，早餐也是非常好。地點非常方便。
