Great boutique hotel! I loved everything about this hotel. Right in the heart of the Gothic Quarter. The breakfast was amazing. The staff was so nice and helpful. Very welcoming. Beautiful spacious room.

Staff is super friendly: went out of their way to make us feel special as we had just gotten married a few days prior to arriving. Room was outstanding. Very romantic. Highly recommend.

This is a hidden gem tucked away on a quiet side street with a lovely staff and a great restaurant on site near lots of cafes and restaurants. My only complaints were that our room was dark and I missed the sunlight in the morning and breakfast was quite expensive (and added to the room charge). Otherwise this place is a find.

Very quaint, beautiful, nestled in the Gothic Quarter but easy to access from car with a very short walk. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food at the restaurant was great, tasty and beautifully presented.

Great stay at what initially looks like an oddly placed hotel. But you step out the door and you are in the heart of old town. Great experience, and after my taxi didn't arrive ontime, the front desk person personally walked me to a major taxi area and flagged down a taxi for me. Awesome of her!

Wonderful hotel!

This hotel exceeded my expectations. Found down an adorable alley, the setting and hotel itself are wonderful. The staff were so gracious with every part of the trip. There was a wonderful nightly turndown with water and delicious chocolate. I would come back again in a heartbeat.

Will go to the Wittmore again!! Amazing customer service and a fabulous hotel overall. The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable, the rooms have huge personality in the dining area is unbelievably cozy and charming. The Wittmore was our initial step in falling in love with Spain!

Room was fine, albeit incredibly dark Restaurant staff seemed consistently stressed and short-handed and there is no rooftop pool—it’s a two inches deep wading pool. I definitely would expect more for the $700 per night rate.

I did not realise until we arrived that we had stayed here before so it was exciting to return.

Romantic

The room was absolutely fantastic! Please be aware if you stay here and come in early from the port or airport, you will not be able to receive an early check in. I finally had to ask the front desk to please see if a room has opened up, and there were 2 available. He had no idea the rooms were ready. This, however, is my only complaint. The room and eating garden were amazing. I would definitely stay here again. The room had all the amenities a traveler needs. Excellent Hotel!

We highly recommend this property and will definitely visit again on our next trip to Barcelona. The hotel is lovely, the staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant is excellent. The hotel is walking distance to all the major sites yet tucked away down a quite street away from the crowds. The experience is what you expect from a 5 star hotel and yet still exceeded our expectations

We loved this hotel! The service was fantastic and made our stay as weary travelers so nice. At first I thought the pool would be too small but after I got in with a fantastic cocktail I realized this was the perfect hotel. Really good water pressure and toiletries. So many little details. Would love to come back here next time. My fav part was the bar.

Exceptional boutique five star with a great team!

Great, stylish boutique hotel with exceptional service. Shower pressure and quality was high! We had five rooms between us and all guests were happy. Hotel restaurant, Contraban, best meal we had not just in Barcelona but consensus was best meal for all in a long while. We were a party of 9 with a combination of vegetarian and pescatarians.

Unbelievable staff and property. we never wanted to leave the hotel. We highly recommend!!!

We loved our stay!!! Service was impeccable. All of the hotels workers were amazing. Beautiful hotel and restaurant/terrace. Rooftop so peaceful. The only change I’d make is the lighting. Rooms/bathroom very dark. Loved the moodiness but could’ve used brighter lighting. Would highly recommend. Great location.

I can’t say enough about how impressed we were with the Wittmore. First, the entire staff couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating. I have to point out Julian, who was so helpful with everything from taking our bags, making dinner reservations and answering the many questions I had about Barcelona and the Gothic Quarter. The food at the restaurant was amazing. We slept in tje second morning and missed breakfast at 11, but they said no problem, we’ll make you up something even though it was between bfast and lunch. The room was nice and big and beautiful. The hotel is completely tucked away down an an alley and is so unassuming but once you walk in, it feels like authentic Barcelona. The top deck is so relaxing and private. The “pool” is really a 2’ mini pool but great to quickly cool off. If we return, we’ll stay there again. Thank you to the staff for making our first trip to Barcelona a blast.

Very elegant property with old European style elegance. Staff is very attentive and the overall property is beautiful. Atmosphere is quiet and subdued, but also dim lighted. Would recommend brighter lighting in personal space.

The little black hotel

This wonderful (though expensive) hotel is tucked away down a side street in the Gothic section of the city. Lovely location, great staff….I will come back the next time in Barcelona.

Very Unique small hotel. Great bar & restaurant. Only drawback is that taxis hate to drop off close because of VERY narrow streets. Be ready to drag bag a few blocks.

Nice staff, great restaurant good ambiance. The gothic area dirty, graffiti right by the front of entrance,garbage in the corner. For a 5 star rating, need attention to detail such as lots of stains on the carpet my room, the lock on door in my room got stuck numerous times.

The location is great and the staff is awesome. A must stay if you want to be in the center of the action in Barcelona.

Amazing service and food!

Gorgeous little boutique hotel in the heart of the Gothic quarter. A little tricky to get to of you have bags, but once you're there you're in for a delight. Beautiful decor and possibly the best service we've ever had at a hotel. The room was also gorgeous, but on the small side, but that's usually what you should expect in great locations in old European cities.

This was one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve been too. The food was delicious and the cocktails were even better. All staff were very helpful and welcoming. I would definitely return.

The hotel was great and the staff were very attentive. I would have rated the overall experience exceptional but my designer sunglasses were taken from my room by one of the cleaning staff. The one day that we allowed them to clean the room, my sunglasses went missing from the side table. I would advise any traveler to lock up your valuables.

The location was ideal for wandering the Gothic Quarter. The hotel was tastefully decorated and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, our environmental control in our room broke and wasn't fixed before we checked out. That made for chilly nights!

Great hotel, but a little more attention to detail

Service was great, wonderful and polite staff. But the extra clothing shelf above the bar was very dusty. wasn't cleaned. Also, the bed pillows were too soft, not firm enough. Need some options.

A little overpriced for the size of rooms and level of noise. But posh and trendy with way access to most sites.

The property is very well located, with most of the things that you probably want to see within walking distance of some excellent restaurants, shopping, and cafés. I’ll start with all of the things that we loved. The staff is amazing. I can’t say enough good things about every single person that we encountered, they went out of their way to make us comfortable, get us what we needed, explain things clearly, and made our stay very pleasant. We loved that the minibar was well stocked with gin, tonic, lemons, limes, beer, and snacks. Those were replenished daily and every so often an extra snack would be brought to our room, such as a delicious, homemade cake, or a fruit platter. That is all part of the fee for the room. There’s a beautiful roof deck with a plunge pool, but unfortunately, it was too cold for us to go sit up there, but it was quite nice. The rooms are on the smaller size although there is an adequate closet, and in the size room, that we stayed in, an extremely long hallway, which gave a little bit more space. That was a little difficult at times because we were there for a week and we had a fair amount of clothing, etc Our room was on the first floor and it was very dark. that is one of my two complaints. The other is that there should be more hooks in the bathroom and perhaps in the hallway so that there are additional places to hang things. A small table in the bathroom would also be welcome for placing toiletries. Would stay again!

Great little boutique hotel, but don’t let the boutique part fool you. The standard rooms are nice size, bathroom is large, well equipped and the shower is spacious. I highly recommend eating breakfast at the hotel, the salmon Benedict is excellent. I would definitely stay here again.

The entire staff was so incredibly helpful - they helped with restaurant and activity choices - and each recommendation was fabulous. The location was perfect - down a great little alley - and the hotel building and appointments were lovely!! The roof deck was a perfect spot for an afternoon drink and relaxation!

The beds and pillows were like sleeping on a cloud and the room was very clean and looked like it was newly renovated. The restaurant was very good and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. The only issue was the rooms are very dark. Nice ambience but hard to do makeup in the dark bathroom. I would stay here again.

We loved everything about this cozy boutique hotel. The hotel was close to all the sites we wanted to see. Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed and clean room with plenty of space. Rooms were a bit dark…they could benefit for additional optional lighting.

The staff at the Whittmore is awesome. Whoever is hiring and training is doing an amazing job because everyone was absolutely lovely, helpful and incredibly responsive. The location of the hotel is awesome. It is decorated beautifully. I had a “small” room and it was great and efficient. The shower was incredible! The restaurant was also great. It’s my new go to place in Barcelona and I will recommend to anyone who is traveling to this dynamic city.

Everything about this place was chic and trendy. Very cool decor, really nice bathroom, comfortable and accommodating room. The location is within a 1-15 minute walking distance of the beach, a huge variety of restaurants and bakeries, and unique, artsy shops but still perfectly tucked away from the masses. The staff displayed above average hospitality and friendliness.

The staff at the property were exceptional. They were so attentive and knowledgeable and they made great recommendations for the best places to eat, drink & advised me on tourist spots to visit. The property itself is amazing too, it’s in a fantastic location & was immaculate and stunningly decorated. It’s a small boutique hotel, so if you’re used to huge hotels, this definitely isn’t it, but I absolutely loved it. The staff get to know you personally and the hotel is just beautiful. It’s like a beautiful mansion. The room was immaculate and the bed was probably the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. 10/10 for the property and for the staff. Highly recommend.

Chose Wittmore for our Honeymoon - we had an absolutely incredible experience there. The bed was super comfortable (the king size was not two beds shoved together).The staff was so friendly and helpful about all things Barcelona. Any questions we had were answered heartily and thoroughly, restaurants, vespa rental, taxi help, neighborhoods, beach info. The staff was SUPER. They hooked us up with a bottle of Cava when we got there. The room was fantastic. The facilities are clean. They spray some kind of air mist that makes the place smell like herbs. The turn down was great. The refrigerator/coffee stuff was great. Shower pressure was strong. The restaurant is tasty. stylish, filled with cool looking people, we were there on a DJ night, the DJ curated an excellent blend of relaxed, mellow and upbeat. The roof deck and "pool" (it's thigh deep - not a problem for me) is enough to never leave the hotel. The Wittmore feels like a the perfect safe-haven you return to after being out and about in bustling Barcelona. Staff was 10 out of 10. We can't wait to go back to Barcelona when Sagrada Familia is finished being built, we will definitely return to the Wittmore.

It was a wonderful stay from the very beginning to the end. Staff were all amazing,place were so gorgeously designed. Breakfast was so delicious. Amenities in the room was so good. Great mini bar was included in the rate had lovely beers and gin tonics. I’ve never been provided lemon and lime in the fridge!!

Loved this small and beautiful boutique hotel!! Perfectly fits the gothic quarter with is lush and intimate decor, while still feeling modern, polished and unique. Loved the service, our room that included minibar snacks and drinks, and the rooftop terrace.

The Best part about the Wittmore is the Staff

The Best part about the Wittmore hotel is the staff The Front desk were incredibly kind and helpful arranging tours, transportation, directions and recommendations . The restaurant, Contrabond's menu was creative.and well presented. The adjoining bar and restaurant was very lively and busy with local residence and tourists (unfortunately the "hip music" could be heard until 2 in my room The only room available was listed as "Small " and was almost uninhabitable. The room are very dark, indesign and colors , with little natural light .The lighting fixtures ,which can only assume was meant to be "romantic" ? were so dim it made it impossible to read or work on the computer I was bumping into walls and had to use a flashlight to see or read . The only place for my clothes was literally on the floor in the very narrow hallway next to a very small closet The refrigerator was generously supplied with water, beer ,olives , chocolate , chips , all free of charge as well as expresso machine, kettle and coffee/teas The toiletry items were lovely as were the linen and pillows.so soft and comfy . I was unable to see the other rooms as the hotel was fully booked. Perhaps the other rooms are more comfortable and inhabitable. Mine was not ,nor as presented on the website .The hotel is in a great location, Bari Gothic neighborhood, a little hard to find in a quiet in a winding pedestrian only street. I found it very expensive comparatively to other hotels in area
