Nice, clean hotel

Kids love the waterslide but the place is always so crowded. Can hear people outside the hallways but overall hotel room is clean spacious and comfy and staff were friendly. Their complimentary breakfast is good.

Clean and quiet, decent buffet breakfast, fun water slide, pool and hot tub and quick access to west Edmonton and west of the city.

Remote control for the TV did not work. TV itself had issues with turning on and off and the reception for the tv was not good. Dresser in the room had three drawers that would not stay closed. The would slide open anytime you put something in it or bumped it. Toilet would splash up on seat when you flushed. Mini fridge could not be controlled on how cold it can be. It was hard to tell the mini fridge was even on. We ran out of towels and I asked for more towels to be brought up and we never got any. My son had to use the small hand towels to dry off after shower. Continental breakfast was always running low on food and at times were completely empty. Not much for selection on food. There were no electrical outlets to plug into. You either have to unplug a lamp or crawl under a desk to plug a cord in. Not much for pillows on the bed either.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly no matter who walked by or had interactions with. Breakfast provided a well rounded meal to start the day. Highly recommend and would stay here again

Quick and easy

Awesome water slide for the kids. Exactly what we were looking for in a quick one night stay!

Staff was nice and efficient. Pool was a mess. Some kids on our floor were running and screaming at times past midnight.

Picked hotel based on pool and slide, free breakfast. Was excellent pool and slide for kids. Breakfast was well stocked and clean. Room was nothing special but a good room for the price, nice and quiet.

4 requests for missing TV remotes and blankets. Plus a wired tune playing around midnight woke us up. Maybe it's haunted? Lol

Location was the priority for me. The bonus was the staff & cleanliness of the room & hotel areas inside Also, Marla at the front was extremely helpful in accommodating my changes of stay due to the passing of my Mother suddenly

Everything about the hotel is first class & my only Critique is this: Large window in bedrooms allow too much light , due to Not being able to block light from entering , due to inability to close drapes in any way.

It was a great spot, close to everything we needed for our stay! The breakfast was good, except was weird that they’d allow people to walk barefoot around the food area.

There was garbage under the bed. Numerous repairs had been made in the room over the years and the bath tub was horribly stained. The rate charged was more then advertised on Expedia.

Family had a good stay here, rooms were fairly clean, if a little dated. Staff were quite friendly and helpful! My biggest complaint is the lack of cleaning supplies for rugs and furniture. My son felt nauseous one evening and didn’t quite make it off the carpet…the staff brought a regular vacuum cleaner to clean it up. I would suggest the hotel invest in a carpet cleaner and/or an upholstery cleaner. It would go a long ways in the cleanliness of the hotel. The other complaint is that there was not much variety for breakfast. Omelettes and sausage both days we were there but no hash browns or even variety in eggs. Perhaps some cut up fruit as well instead of just whole apples and oranges. Overall though we had a pleasant stay and the kids enjoyed the pool/slide

Fantastic Stay! I had a wonderful experience at Wingate ahotwl. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and my room was clean, spacious, and well-appointed. The location was perfect for exploring around near to West Edmonton Mall. I also loved the pool great for family and the restaurant nearby. Highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable and enjoyable stay—I’ll definitely be back! Thank You!

Not great

Not a great stay. Light fixture broken, stains all over the chair, hair in the tub and on a towel. Bed was comfortable and breakfast was decent. Wouldn't recommend at $179.

Ppl screaming on the floor above my room the first night and the second was a door alarm going off for 20 mins at midnight

So loud. We heard conversations in other rooms above and below us and constant toilet flushing. Be careful at the bottom of the pool it kills the feet. Dirtyyyyyyy. Sticky floors in room. We left a night early.

Great place to stay with kids. Pool had fun waterslide and big hot tub. Rooms were nice, spacious and comfy beds. Great free continental breakfast.

It was our first time staying at this hotel, and we enjoyed our stay. I found the bed to be slightly uncomfortable, and the bathroom was small(the door barely made it by the toilet). We didnt use the pool area as it wasnt something we mananged to work into our time, but the breakfast was good, staff were wonderful.

Had a really good stay here! Felt comfortable, welcoming , and had our favourite amenities of complimentary breakfast and a pool. We actually chose this location for its older style waterslide that can be enjoyed by our younger children and those of us who like to sit up instead of rocketing down in the dark of an enclosed slide. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is located in a very convenient location. Would stay again.

The Wingate is a great hotel, the staff are helpful and friendly. Free Breakfast was a good way to start the day. The kids loved the pool and waterslide. The room was tidy and housekeeping came everyday. Overall, would stay here again.

The water slide was great but it shut off every 30 minutes and a staff member had to come and reset it. I requested my bill be emailed rather than printed. I never did receive it.

Great location

The rooms were big and awesome, lots of space for all our luggage and an extra bed. Bathroom could've been bigger, but not a big deal. Beds were comfortable and the front desk was very responsive and great to deal with. Breakfast was good, lots of hot and cold options. We had to ask to change the sheets, which was weird for a 5 night stay. And for some reason, everything beeped, the door beeped when it didn't latch (which it didn't latch on its own), the elevator beeped at each floor it passed. Lots of beeps.

Across parking lot had a nice restaurant with good food. Hotel had a nice slide and pool with hot tub area. Hotel is a little older but still nice and clean

Love the Indigenous artwork in the rooms and in and outside the building. Very beautiful. Love the pool with the waterslide and the breakfast. I Didn’t have any issue the only thing that could make this hotel better than it is, is upgrading the tv’s to a bigger size smart tv so you could login to your streaming apps. But overall very nice hotel.

I booked a 2-night stay with breakfast included, but when I arrived, they informed me that I would have to pay for breakfast and that it was not included.

Location is great. Staff were very courteous and polite. Reasonably clean. Good breakfast included. Quiet at night.

Nice pool

Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are a little dated and dusty. Surfaces and linens were very clean but the room itself had cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling and the curtains were dusty. Also only the sheers closed - not the curtains, so there was no option for darkening the room or protecting privacy other than the bush planted in front of the window. We were in a ground floor room so that was a little awkward. Additionally we had issues with the room door closing properly. It was previously damaged as if it had been kicked in at one point. We managed to get it to close and lock but it was a hassle. We did bring it up to hotel staff - 3 times - and was told someone would look at it. I think it was a bigger job so they said they’d address it after we checked out.

Easy check in. The room was clean and staff was friendly. The breakfast was adequate. Overall, would stay here again, for sure.

Close to shopping

Customer service was flawless from start to finish! All staff from desk agents to maintenance were engaging and welcoming especially with my toddler The room was clean, modern and very spacious! Beyond what i was expecting for the very reasonable price. Breakfast had a good basic selection, everything was freah and clean, the coffee was excellent. The pool is amazing for kids especially the mushroom and waterslide! The depth is great for littles but there is a bit of a rough hump at the bottom of the slide that i caught my feet on a few times. A $200 debit deposit was acceptable rather than a Credit Card and the funds were immediately refunded. Very convenient location and felt safe. This will be our go to for Edmonton from now!

The room itself was fine. I received poor service when I phoned the front desk, I was looking for the bedding for the pull out sofa that was supposed to be in the room. It was not, which was fine, but I received attitude from the desk attendant and the employee who brought me the bedding. “It’s in the closet but here you go.” I assured them both it absolutely was not. The pool was wildly unsafe for my children when we entered. Multiple times I had to ask other children to stop going down with my kids and landing on them as they exited the slide. This isn’t the hotels fault, obviously, but it didn’t help our impression of our stay. My daughter was struck 3 times by different children not waiting their turns. The pool is also much smaller than it appears in the photos. We won’t be returning. There’s better hotels within 1.5km.

We stayed at the hotel for three nights and had an overall enjoyable experience. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the pool was a highlight, especially the waterslide, which my 9-year-old loved. However, there were a couple of drawbacks. The elevator floors were frequently wet and slippery due to pool traffic, posing a safety concern. Additionally, although we paid for breakfast, the options were quite limited and didn't cater well to vegetarians. With only ham omelets, sausages, and bacon available, my family, who doesn't eat beef or pork, ended up having bread for two days and eventually had to eat at IHOP on the third morning. Despite these issues, we appreciated the comfortable rooms, friendly reception staff, and the hotel's convenient location near West Edmonton Mall.
