Perfect location for a peaceful winter weekend getaway. We’ve stayed here before and definitely will again.

Perfect place to stay while visiting Montauk

I recently had a wonderful stay at this property, and I can't recommend it enough! Although it takes less than a 10-minute drive into Montauk, it's perfect. The room we stayed in was very clean and spacious, providing all the comforts we needed. The property is exceptionally well-maintained, and it's clear that the staff takes pride in their work. From the friendly service to the beautifully kept grounds, everything contributed to a very pleasant experience. One of the highlights was the short walk to the beach, which felt like our little slice of paradise. The beach was lovely, and we enjoyed breathtaking sunrises and sunsets just steps away from our apartment. It truly felt like we had our own private oasis. Overall, this is a great place to stay if you're looking for a peaceful getaway with easy access to Montauk. I can’t wait to return!

Stayed for the second time at Windward and have no complaints. will book again next time I'm in Montauk!

smooth check in, very clean place, via text comunication extremely effective, we also loved the small kitchen in the room, ideal for some coffee making or warming ubp a bite we simply loved the place.

Lovely seaside accommodations. Very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect. The room was just a short walk from the beach. Just minutes away from downtown Montauk. Having a full kitchen is great.

Very private

When I order and pay for 2 queen beds, I expect to get precisely what I ordered and paid. Unfortunately, we got one twin bed. This may be a Expidia or resort issue!

Very nice place to spend a weekend with friends.

Location is great, beach is fabulous, and pool/grounds are lovely. But the room was as basic as it gets, and wasn't either pretty or very comfortable. (It's hit and miss at condo hotels like this one.)

There is an easy and short path to the beach. Chairs were provided and we had a very relaxing time at the property. The staff was accommodating and friendly.

Great Winter stay at a summer resort

Amazing place. Summer resort and we enjoyed the winter prices. Short drive in either directions for a good restaurant !

The property was great! The room was clean, the heat worked terrific, and there was nice hot water. Everything worked well; the check-in process was easy with the keypad and the property was located right next to the beach, which was terrific. Parking was super easy as well, too. We overall had a great experience. I will stay here again; I highly recommend it to those considering!

Amazing

This place was a joke for what they are charging. I am a long time visitor and vacationer on the east end and have lived here on Long Island all my life. I will never go back to Windward Shores. The beds were so uncomfortable we had to sleep on an air mattress. The king bed that was advertised was two twin beds pushed together - I kid you not. The customer service was a joke too, no real help at the beach with cabana service - young rude kids who did not have the reserved chairs and umbrellas ready, and then we had to ask for the additional umbrella we requested on their text prompt the night prior and the whole experience was just rotten. So rude and obnoxious. And there are no lifeguards on duty here. So for two nights and 2600 plus dollars later this place was beyond a joke. Not even a roll of paper towels or a dish towel either in their supposedly well stocked kitchen. The fridge stunk so bad like milk had spoiled for months in there. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. GO DOWN TO DRIFTWOOD OR HERMITAGE, BEST FOR THE MONEY DOWN ON EAST END !!!! THIS PLACE WAS GARBAGE. RUDE AND NOT KEPT UP. OLD GARBAGE = THIS PLACE !!!!

The hotel room was very simple and had not been upgraded in quite some time. However, it sits right on a gorgeous beach, and the heated pool was wonderful as well. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful beach weekend with a simple, clean hotel room, this is a perfect option. Also we found the hotel and beach staff very accommodating and helpful.

Very Nice Stay!

We had a great time. Room was exactly as expected. Beach and pool were very nice and footsteps from our door. Self checkin and checkout made everything really easy. Only complaints were that we were not notified that there was any type of room cleaning service until two days in. Also the photos of the room showed an oven and described that cookware would be available, however there were no pans for the oven. Minor complaints to an otherwise great stay. We would definitely come back.

Perfect quiet beach resort

We loved our stay here! Comfortable, clean and right on the beach! Perfect location between Montauk and East Hampton. The staff were all helpful and friendly and I hope to come back again soon!

This property was located right on the beach. It wasn’t too crowded. They had beach service with chairs and umbrellas. The units are a little dated but it worked for us. We did have an issue with shower glass door shattering but they responded quickly and cleaned it all up.

Loved our stay, already planning our next visit! Reasonably priced, clean rooms, love having a kitchen. The stay was extremely quiet and peaceful. Having direct beach access and a heated pool was a bonus! Lastly, being right in between East Hampton and Montauk gave us a quick commute to both.

I loved the private beach. The area was quite and the rooms were very nice. A car is needed or UBER which cost 50.00 to go to Montauk.

Fun place to stay in east Hampton

While the location was excellent, the condo was outdated, and not clean. There was one of those sanitary wrappers around the toilet, but when I went to lift the lid, I found urine on the seat. Also, the bedding there was flimsy, and there were no extra blankets. Lastly, I thought there was a Keurig machine there, so I brought my K-cups, but there wasn't one. The pictures presented for this rental were somewhat misleading, in my opinion...

We loved the cleanliness, the layout of the apartment, the view of the beach, the friendly attendant at the front desk.

Amazing property near the ocean. I went during the off season and it was like I had a beach resort town all to myself. Definitely plan on coming back.

The pool and beach were perfect. However anything asked of from the front desk was denied. Check in 5pm? Unheard of… front desk receptionist was exceptionally rude and unaccommodating to us. Spiders and bugs all over the room. Pull out couch sheets were dirty and no extra sheets in the rooms. Had to call the office and they only set one blanket. Amagansett is my favorite getaway and I love the property and amenities of this place but was underwhelmed by the service and accommodations

We had a wonderful stay at this place. It is very quite, green and close to everything. The staff was very friendly as well.

Great location right on the beach. Lower rooms cannot see the ocean FYI. Bathroom was not clean on arrival, dusty corners and floor, hairs in shower. The bathroom is small FYI. Very nice beach and umbrellas and chase lounges provided which was great. There are a lot of places to stay so if you have time to pre book you could find a nicer place but we The room we booked was not represented accurately it did not look like the room we received.

The area is wonderful. The beach is close by and the apartments are nice. In terms of sleeping, the mattress could have been a little firmer. Everything else was really great, including the distance to travel to explore different areas around here.

Worst hotel you can ever stay for. Avoid at all cost. There was NO HOT WATER in the room, was not able to take a shower or bath and hotel did not do anything to fix it. There is no people in the front desk and they make you do mobile check-in and avoid your call or voicemail until 9am in the morning and still did nothing. Horrendous experience.

Book the 2 bedroom corner loft unit 45! Spacious & beautiful views!!! Everything you need is there - like a condo. Beautiful deck…walk right on to the dunes & beach. Loved our stay. Will book again. Off season lovely & peaceful.

The bathroom had missing ceiling tiles and the fan was hanging out of the wall.

This is a cute property and I had a one-bedroom condo-like efficiency. The only negative is that the bed is very very soft and I sank in like a rock in a marshmallow. If you like soft beds, then don't view this review as negative.

Very clean and right on the ocean

The location of property is beautiful within steps on the beautiful ocean. However, we could hear our neighbors upstairs as they were quite noisy. The room was fine but definitely needed to be refreshed. There was not a shade on front door just frosted glass which I hated. The room had glass sliding doors to a small patio but the curtains were missing on one side and there were no black out liners. Property was pretty and well maintained

I stayed 2 nights for business so didn’t take advantage of any beach amenities. I could hear the ocean. Adequate for 1-2 people. Would be cramped with more.

Had an enjoyable weekend at hotel. Pricey, but pretty much every property in area was pricey. Good water pressure in shower. Did notice some typical insects but expected when surrounded by nature. Liked staff setup of beach chair and umbrellas for you. Housekeeping, check in, check out, and beach requests easily done online thru text to phone. Check in time was actually around 5pm due to covid cleaning procedures, but wasn't an issue for us as we checked out Montauk. Room had dishwasher, microwave, electric stove, toaster, tv with cable, sofa bed, iron, hair dryer, kitchen sink, refridgerator. Our first floor room had an outdoor patio area with table and chairs, but there is no separation preventing someone from walking out and by every patio on the floor. So we kept curtain closed at all times. You are given a parking pass to hang in your car so they know your parked car is legit.

Little dirty, random goldfish crackers etc on floor dishes and cigarette butts all over deck but otherwise good.

Poor communication with staff - we tried to go swimming in their pool. They came out and rather rudely informed us that the pool wasn’t open that day, even though there were no signs posted or any other indication otherwise. Very embarrassing and disappointing situation. Rooms were clean but definitely dated, with some bathroom ceiling tiles falling out. We went early summer, pre-peak season, and still paid a pretty penny. Felt very overpriced, and that wasn’t even during peak season!

Location in driving proximity of many interesting spots.

It's a great deal considering the cleanness, location, and value. The property is quiet during the night. The no-contact check-in and check out process is awesome especially during COVID.

i have never stayed in a dune studio, so it was funny explaining it to my cousin from the Philippines who was with me! Of course the location is why we are here and we are on the beach! Mattresses could be more comfortable, but overall nice stay.

Great and super clean hotel, with beach access. Full kitchen with all you need, free WiFi, pool, parking, and walking distance to excellent food stores.

Pandemic Holiday Stay

Great accommodations for a lovely holiday stay! Off-season but idyllic for exploring holiday windows in our favorite summer season haunts of East Hampton, Montauk and Sag Harbor. We lucked out with lovely weather and we’re able to change the scenery in a safe, contactless space after being stuck at home during the pandemic for 10 months. Just what we needed!

We'd visit again!

The office staff were great. Loved our studio, walking to beach, beach chairs. Full kitchen. We were able to extend our checkout on Sunday which we very much appreciated as it was too cold to hang out on the beach.

Had a great stay, no contact check in/out was a breeze. Beautiful property and just steps from the beach.Will definitely be back!

Great apps!

Loved the apps they sent us on our phone each day for check in, beach set ups, room supplies, and check out. The place was clean and quiet. Hope this continues when Covid is gone and peak season comes in.

Rude Staff

Office is closed after 5pm!!! Staff was rude as well. Bed was noisy. They came into my room twice when I asked them not to, so they didn’t communicate with their cleaning staff well. The towels are old and dingy. They cut a dish sponge in half and poured dish soap into a squirt bottle to save money and online they claim it’s a luxury hotel. Their waterfall shower is a joke, there’s no way to prevent the whole floor from getting wet, so you push the showerhead toward the wall and you shower in a tiny corner. Decor is outdated and furniture was stained. Never staying here again.

Just what we wanted

For New Year's eve, we wanted to get away from the loud noises associated with downtown Huntington, where we currently reside. The Windward Shores was just want we wanted, quiet, close to some new activities, access to the beach for strolling and (did I mention), not noisy? There was a heated bathroom which was so toasty in the winter, and an individual heater in the room that was adjusted to our personal taste. The kitchen had a complete set of everything we needed. The cable tv had oodles of channels. The beach is within 10 yards of the room and we watched the waves crashing at both high and low tides. Mantouk is six miles away and the lighthouse is another 5 miles. We had a nice meal at the Burger store, no reservation needed, even though there was live entertainment.

Our studio was very clean and comfortable. We are super happy with our stay and would definitely stay here again!

Dated Rooms - Great Pool, Location & Beach

Great location, staff and beach, but the room was dated with an old mold smell. The kitchen is OK, but the bed is old and moist from the humidity I guess, the bathroom was OK, but the ceiling was staying to fall down. The wood pieces in the bathroom ceiling were so bent that I could see behind it. Sand all over the floor, but the pool, location and beach were all great. If it wasn't for the location, I would never stay in a place like that.

Great location. Beach services were great. Unit was small but adequate for my family of 6. Getting to loft via spiral staircase was a challenge. Kitchen was tiny - fine for making eggs or a sandwich, but not good for a full meal. Unit was in good condition and updated recently.

Liked just about everything. Signage from parking lot to office could be improved.

It was wonderful and unforgettable vacation at your cozy clean hotel! The landscape design are beautiful and is very important pert for people who came to have a great time! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Thanks so much to everyone who works here!

We love this hotel. The pool and beach are fabulous. They also have tennis courts. The rooms have kitchens and porches. It’s a short walk to two great restaurants- the Clam Bar, and the Lobster Roll.
