The hotel is great and next to everything. Staff is friendly and helpful just be aware cause its down town ans the area around the hotel is sketchy but if you stay in the hotel and go straight to your destination and dont walk around you should be good
It is not located in a tourist area, location is very sketchy.
Great roof top pool with view of city
Hotel was fine, if you’re really just there leave your stuff and of course sleep. Check in took forever and our key card didn’t work 7/8 times, which was an inconvenience headed up and coming back down, especially when you’re tired: not the worse for the price, would only recommend for the price.the breakfast was good too.
The hotel is clean and staff are nice. This is the city centre and it is not particularly safe at night time. The hotel decor is dated and the bed linen and towels are very tired. The rooms are in need of a modernisation and re-decoration.
Check in time was over an hour waiting. Breakfast was good. I felt secure in the building.
Really a nice hotel has everything you may need Great breakfast Pool and bar very nice Good stay
Summary: Disrespectful, poorly staffed -Expect check-in to take over 30 minutes -During Carnaval, they tag you like cattle with a bright orange bracelet -No signage of a dress code, but they'll make you put on a shirt in the lobby (even guys) -They have ad-based internet which has a difficult time staying connected in the rooms -They don't even have fitted sheets -You must speak Portuguese to order room service -Get to breakfast early! The room fills up and they won't let you in -Expect to wait 5 minutes for the elevator, every time -They tried to charge me for water from the minibar that wasn't consumed And on top of it all... I never saw one employee smile. It's like they're so miserable that they want you to be miserable too. I've had better service at a Motel 6 in Atlanta. I paid $150 per night for this?
I loved the staff
Close to the center, stopping.
The people working at the front desk were very hostile to us from the get go. I wouldn’t recommend.
Good
Good value for a central location
Good value, comfortable room, clean and the breakfast was nice. It's located in the CBD near a subway and a tram stations. Unfortunately the pandemic has killed the region, so it's not as busy as vibrant as it used to be and it's recommended extra caution when walking around at night. Staff super friendly.
Great hotel near the US embassy. 6 minutes walk, Not a tourist area. But during the day not dangerous at all. Great breakfast. Nice roof top view. I can stay here again if l need to go to the embassy
This was an "OK" hotel. A pretty central location, more of a business hotel - not your tourist, beach hotel. It was a very "urban " hotel with all sorts of folks in the streets around it. I never felt unsafe however. You can certainly get a feel for the "real" Rio city environment here. Having said that, the staff was excellent, the facility was nice and clean and well maintained. The breakfast could use an upgrade and more variety. There is no parking associated with the hotel, however the nearby underground lot does offer discounts to hotel guests. The price seemed a little high to me for the combined package.
Right in the center with the locals lol the staff are very polite and serviceable
Very cleaned and all service was excellent.
The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. The property is older and the room we stayed in was not sound proof. We could hear everything the guests in the room next door were doing and saying. We could also hear the showers from the room upstairs and the one next door; which sounded like a freight train was going through our room. The only thing the “gym” had were two treadmills, one of which was out of order.
Clean, nice view at the top, friendly staffs, and good breakfast
Bad service. Terrible location. Very noisy hotel.
Everything was great. Minor issue that the bed was a bit softer and breakfast starts earlier. I wasn't able to eat because my flight was early
The hotel is ok, not a very good neighborhood. Some off the stuff are rude. I didn’t receive my VIP benefits!!!
not good experience
Never book the 7th floor, terrible noise from the plumbing. Complained and was moved to 20th floor, no noise. Great staff 24/7. Dodgy dirty neighborhood but good location for many points of interest excluding beaches and Cristo Redentor.
Nice people on staff. Good firm bed
Terrible experience restaurant was awful, pool was cloudy. Room was outdated and dirty.
Wifi was not working at all.
Good experience
All was good - I really enjoyed staying there and kept going back for the eggplant parmigiana which was to kill for. Loved it there.
Bad experience
I was charged for an early check in, had traveled all night and asked for an early check in, although a small discount was applied, the experience was terrible. The mattress was very very old, uncomfortable, pillows the same, frizzed TV, air conditioner noice, not good at all. Pool cold, gym within 4 sq mts not what’s presented in photos. Will never ever stay again. Leo was nice.
Very nice hotel! Really enjoyed... good located for a great price! The room was super clean, the shower was amazing! By the way, Leandro (front desk) is a great worker! Excellent communication and recommendations from him! Tks a lot for him and all the staff
Tried to charge me twice, added expensive parking, tried to add breakfast which was already included , RUN do not stay at this hotel
In the room 1404 bed located the way that my head was in the couple of inches from the bathroom entrance. There is no night stand for this side of the bed, no any nightstand light, no any power outlets for both sides of the bed. Just behind the bed in the middle in the wall we can find one power outlet and used it for both sides. Room is not sound proof at all. You can hear water streaming in the next room like it's in yours. No tea cattle in the rooms. It was a horrible experience.
Não tem estacionamento para hóspedes, o mais próximo tem desconto se você for hóspede, mas não pode tirar o carro porque eles cobram por cada vez que você faz, no final vc fica preso na área
Windsor stay
Great room excellent restaurant Only drawback no so good part of town
We stayed 4 nights in January - as one of around 15 hotels around Latin America in similar price bracket. The hotel is well-located in Cinelandia with restaurants nearby, with very convenient metro just around corner with direct line to Copacabana and Ipanema. Friendly attentive staff on front desk. Good, standard Latin America-type buffet breakfast. Beds comfy and bathroom fine, Upstairs pool area underused.
Location and friendliness of staff
Everything was great. Only request is if the bar on the roof top was functioning during early/evening. The drinks had to be ordered from the front desk and then had to wait at the pool, until it was brought up to the 22nd floor.
It’s ok. Nothing spectacular.
Great Hotel staff was great
The hotel is good, service is fast and food is delicious, but people are not that friendly, the location as well no to safe, I didn’t like that the bar at the swimming pool wasn’t available and they never did our room next day, internet was perfect is a good place only to go to sleep, no facilities or activities at the hotel and during the night is unsafe go around.
Bad surroundings. Bad room. I can hear conversations from another room. Also, they don’t allow visitor(s) to go to your room.
Wonderful!
Awesome folks ready to help out of their ways!
Muito boa estadia
all good
Very good place, comfortable, breakfast varieties. Employees are very kind and polite.
They asked for my card multiple times and checkout process was so long I almost missed my ride.
It was close to the airport
This was a great stay. I like to stay in the Centro area, although very seedy and dangerous (not really touristy), but I tend to get very solid, good service at a very competitive price in this area. I am picky, but Windsor Asturias did not disappoint me. Check in was quick, professional and pleasant, Expedia VIP status was recognized, my request to have a quiet room was accommodated, I got a nice upgrade on the 20th floor and it was quiet, which I really liked. The view from the top/pool floor was amazing to me. Breakfast was fine, standard Brazilian. Don't expect luxury and be careful in the area. The hotel was clean, well organized and just problem-free. Happy to recommend and stay there again.
It located at downtown near to goverment offices and foreigner faciiities. Near the beaches and metro station. Beaches and coast walkway.
Very nice property in the center of Rio. Good for public transportation and historic and cultural sites. Staff were very helpful.
Windsor Stay
Windsor Austoria was very welcoming when we checked in. The hotel was very clean and maintained well by the staff. Breakfast is from 6-10:30 and if you wanted you could ask the staff to bring it to your room for you to enjoy. The staff was always willing to help or answer any questions about tourism or areas/stores nearby. House keeping was very accommodating as well when asked to come back at another time if you weren’t ready for them to clean. A truly great hotel to visit. The pool was a decent size, able to fit about 10 people and the view from the top area is absolutely beautiful seeing a wide view of the city.
Excellent hotel in service
This was an extremely well run professional hotel. The staff was friendly English-speaking and very sensitive to any needs. The breakfast in the lunch in the restaurant was excellent again very professional personal service. I would highly recommend this hotel for any international travel or local I was very pleased with my stay
Super recomendo
Hotel de excelência, os funcionários muito educados e atenciosos.
The staff was friendly, many spoke English and were helpful in finding information on where to get a covid test.
Basic hotel, clean and friendly staff at checkin. Low on amenities- only stayed 1 night.- good inexpensive option
Great hotel; awesome staff!
Perfectly situated in the centre of Rio; close to Santo Dumont Airport. My stay was comfortable, the rooftop had a memorable and gorgeous view of Cristo Redentor and Santa Teresa. The front reception, security, and room attendants were friendly and welcoming; the restaurant staff attitude could be better; espresso extra and not included in the breakfast.
Clean and organized.
pessoal amigável - obrigado por me hospedar!
Safe area, affordable pricing, and properly located close Airport Santo Dumont and Cinelandia metro station, a departure point to visit the attractions nearby centro or in Zona Sul. The staff were super-friendly -- reception, security guards, room service, and cleaners -- and they made me feel at home. One feedback is to include the espresso made using the machine as part of the included breakfast.
Very nice hotel and friendly staff 👌
Atenttion and Location
Service
Great service
They forgot the shampoo in the shower. Other than that it was an ok hotel
Goo hotel in Rio
Helpful staff, spoke English. Good. clean room with ac.
God stay in Rio
great location. Close to metro, sights and grocery
Very good , Love the city , location of the hotel is good
Central location, ideal to explore the city. Good transportation.
Location in center, very short walk to subway and tram.
Good location to downtown, value for money. Food options have potential for improvement.
Location is right where I wanted to be. The hotel is clean and the elevators are extremely fast.
The hotel is in a good place if you need to do something in this area. I could went to Arco da Lapa, Museun
It's ok
I have stayed two nights in Windsor during the Carnival, location is fine, it was very busy and dirty on the streets, Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was ok, but not wow. Room was a bit old, AC were noisy and I could hear the noise of the room next to mine too. The cleaning service could be better.
Will come back again
We stayed for two nights during the carnival. The hotel is located next to a metro station which is very convenient for going to and from the carnival. Hotel staffs are professional and helpful. The hotel itself feels a little bit dated but amenities are still fine.
The location was great. The metro is close. Starbucks nearby and restaurants, bank and stores all in this area. Quiet and clean hotel
Wore out towels if asked for an extra one a warning should be issue to you that they will inventory them at checkout, BK boufet poor, cheap and embarrassing for Brasil standards...
The staff at the reception where not really in to been nice and kind rather on defensive mode when kindly asked for help on extending the checkout for humanitarian reasons. they supously had agreed to help me spoken with an Expedia manager previously. Any ways the hotel is ok, don’t expect not even 3 stars, even though there were some of the staff at night a young man at the reception really nice a bell boy very nice and wellcoming and the bartenders at the top floor that is the only nice place there is there, also the Manager seems to be very educated and accommodating but at the end bla bla bla.
Super location in central Rio, two tram stops from Santos Dumont airport and right next to a Metro station. Close to art galleries and metropolitan cathedral. Gorgeous roof terrace with great views and exceptional staff.
Good hotel in a strategic localization. It have a relative good confort and the access to Santos Dumont airport its very easy.
Good choice for downtown Rio
In North America, this hotel would rate 6/10. The service was top-notch and the hotel restaurant was excellent but the condition of the room, a/c and internet bandwidth were left wanting. Regardless, if you judge the hotel by Rio standards and consider its location, it is a Brasil 8.
Great location, close to the metro station and Centro/Lapa attractions. Top floor inexpensive bar with pool and night City view is the best way to finish the busy day. Impacable stuff with very good English. I can't find anything negative to mention.
It was great
Great location
Always satisfied here
The hotel downtown is one of the best in the area for the price! With an amazing breakfast and great sized rooms that are comfortable and immaculate. Very close to all amenities and to the metro
Windsor Asturias in RIO
This hotel is excellent, my only complaint is that the pillows are too hard :) If I ever go to RIO again, this is the hotel i will be staying at! Excellent Staff and a very clean hotel.
Good option to stay in Rio for business or leisure
A very good place to stay in Rio. Windsor is located right in Cinelândia, very close to subway and tram stations. For those who enjoy night life it's also close to Lapa where you can find lots of bars, restaurants and cultural events. For me it was a great option because I had to commute to the suburbs at the North side of the city and also to the South and West. The buffet breakfast has good options (I could satisfy my crave for local cakes and "pão de queiko" before coming back to Australia). Staff was friendly and the check in/out processes were quick.
Friendly staff and fast elevators
The hotel is in a great location only steps from the Cineladia Metro station. The front desk staff, the cleaning staff and the bellman were ectremly pleasant and helpful. This is the 4th different hotel I have stayed at in Rio. The other 3 hotels were in Copacabana and Ipanema. I chose to stay Centro this time to save money. The Windsor had the largest and fastest elevators of all the hotels. I only had to wait a few times but nothing extreme. The room itself is small (think Manhattan size) but was very clean and everything was in good repair. The best part of the room was the water pressure! OMG it was the most pressure I have seen in a hotel in years of traveling! Be careful you don’t bump the handle while showering as the hot water alone is VERY HOT and I was scalded a little when I accidentally pushed the handle to full hot mid shower. Make sure and check out the view from the 22nd floor pool/bar area for an almost panoramic view of central Rio. If you are looking for a great price on a good hotel in Centro Rio I can highly recommend this hotel. I walked easily (and safely) from the hotel to several neighborhoods and sites such as Gloria, the bars of Lapa, the Selarón Steps and the cathedral.
It was convenient and the staff were very accommodating!! The breakfast or cafe de manga was the best I've had!!
Everyone very happy and helpful, the hotel very clean and quiet.
This is a very centralized hotel.
I will definitely stay there again, but I know for a fact, because it has happened before, they are very strict when it comes to late check out. This is the only thing bad about this hotel; the staff is not very cooperative and understanding. Also, I noticed that the breakfast is not as rich as it used to be. They are cutting down on things and the variety is not as extensive; however, in terms of centralization and transportation, this is the best place to stay; if staying downtown is what you need. I booked a room for Thanksgiving weekend and I will ask again for a late check out because my flight does not leave until 11:15 PM from GIG. Let's see how willing to work with me they will be!
Clean,friendly and helpful staff♡
Great stay, staff are nice all wonderful..specially Cesar, taixera,Thompson are really helpful..Good services. Very clean hotel, convenient access to metro..
Great hotel, great view, and nice area I would definitely come back
close to carnaval
great to be near the heart of carnival.Metro station a block away,so easy access to Copacabana and Ipanema
4.5 stars by North American standards
This hotel I think should definitely be rated higher than it is. It was a very nice hotel. The room was very modern and clean. Room service was very good. The restaurant was very good. The staff at the front were very helpful. There is security at the front. Air-conditioning was strong. There really is nothing else that you would want. The location is very good for downtown. There's a Metro station very close by. There's a McDonald's and a few restaurants in the vicinity. You are very close to the main square. Excellent job to all the staff.
Nice hotel, but bad neighborhood.
Nice hotel, but bad neighborhood. A lot of homeless around hotel.
First trip to Rio
My husband, daughter and her husband and baby and myself came to Brazil to meet my son-in-law's family. We stayed at another Windsor Hotel for the first few days then went inland to a town called Sabinopolis for the family visit. When we returned to Rio we wanted to be closer to the Centro. The Windsor Asturias Hotel was very nice. The staff was very helpful and most spoke English very well. We only ate breakfast at the hotel, but that was quite good. We spent much of our time on the roof enjoying the view, the pool and the bar. We checked out at noon but were able to stay at the hotel until out departure at 7, using the facilities and wifi.
Hotel near Public Places of Interest
This hotel is value for money! I stayed for 3 nights with my son and we are pleased with our clean room with everything that we need except for coffee maker. The buffet breakfast is also nice. This hotel is walking distance to Theatro Municipal and other historical buildings. However, DO NOT make the mistake of booking your Corcovado and Sugar loaf trips with the front desk! They will book you with Rio Line Turismo, whose tour guide will cut your time in Corcovado and Sugar loaf to rush to a souvenir shop! We were not able to get good pictures with Christ the Redeemer because it was cloudy and the guide gave us only 45 minutes up there! The worst thing is she left me and my son in Sugar loaf because we failed to make it to the agreed meeting place on time! She didn't even bother to go back for us! The worst experience ever!
The food could be much better
Nice Windsor Hotel
Excellent service. Was treated like a king. Neighborhood is not the greatest, but is close to everywhere.

Good location in Lapa easy to see the sights and get transport
