Host was amazing and kind the place was clean and very comfortable there’s lots to see at as little as a minute walk away and will definitely stay again
Awful would not stay again.
It was a last minute booking. For a superior room. I expected the room to be at least like maybe like one on the website.Their website photos are not what you get. There’s no lounge or anyone about to contact. There was just a lady who took us in when we arrived and a man gave us the keys. She told us the wifi details on the notice board. The WiFi was not located so we couldn’t log in. The tv had no WiFi or even a single Chanel. The room needed a good clean and a lot of TLC. Bathroom door didn’t close. Cracks on ceiling Thick dust and spider webs on the lamp shade above the bed. Musty smell. Bathroom looks like it had some work with pvc slating. Did the job. Inside The wardrobe was awful to hang clothes in. Couldn’t sleep. It made me conscious of being crawled on. Constant itching. Thankfully we only booked for two nights so we didn’t spend much time in it. On a plus side location was great. And new white fluffy towels. Which we slept on. We Hairdryer ourselves dry.

Basic & Clean Hotel
The hotel is average like most B&B’s in Blackpool. On a whole for £30+ per night it is basic and somewhat clean. Sadly.. our stay featured a sleepless night as a result of a women and three children been allowed in a double one bed room screaming and shouting all weekend. Otherwise it was an ‘ok’ and cheap weekend away!
Nice owner but grubby room. No breakfast.
I booked a Double room-Superior-Ensuite-(Tower View). The owners were pleasant upon check-in. I had paid around £262 for 2 people for Thursday-Monday. There is no breakfast. The room was not what I consider superior and did have a strange smell to it. It was very dated and doesn't look like it has been refurbished for some time. Please see the photos I took. Yes, they are carpet covered bedside draws........ Even though I stayed for 4 nights, the room wasn't touched or cleaned at all during that period. It is very dated, had a decent view of the tower, but not somewhere I would go back. The photos on the website do not really represent how the hotel looks today.
Basically it was cheap and cheerful! It was just a place to get our head down. Great location of Blackpool
the property was fine just needed updating
Tired hotel and room
Booked a superior double room. Room and hotel in need of some TLC. Hair in the shower so didn’t use it. Bathroom taps need cleaned. Dirty walls. Room smelled like cigarette smoke despite signs saying guests not to smoke due to highly sensitive smoke detectors. Room looked as if it hadn’t been serviced in a while. Really dusty. Bed was soft and comfortable. Couldn’t open window as handle was very stiff and crumbling so didn’t want to chance it incase it broke! Only “superior” aspect of the room was that it had a view of the tower. On a noisy street (people shouting). There is a photo on the hotel.com website of a lovely communal are/room, we didn’t see if it or be offered access to it.
Lovely stay
The owners were absolutely lovely during our stay, i had a meltdown over a key i thought i missed yet she remained calm and explained how i probably left it in the room which i did, and i was ever so grateful. The room was lovely for a budget price and definitely would recommend.
🤔
Nothing like the photo
Place was filthy. Website is false advertising as there is no breakfast etc available nor is there a lovely reception area as shown on the website that room is no longer available also there is no where to leave your luggage if you arrive early or leave depart later than 10am. Only positive thing about this hotel is the internet it was very good.
A very friendly, homely place to stay not too far from the town centre or railway station. The owner couldn’t have been more helpful
Hotel in blackpool
The bed was super comfy and the owners were super nice people. Room was maybe a little dated but I’m wasn’t worried about that because I only ever used it to sleep and I was out for most of the day and night. Price is excellent for staying here too, I was there 6 nights and got a very good deal on it. Would 100% stay here again if the opportunity arose
Hotel was basic n nice !! Very friendly staff ! Enjoyed our stay , we will be back ! Recommend this place, child friendly too!
Very friendly staff and a very comfortable bed, nice location just minutes from the tower and beach.
We appreciated the friendly reception we received despite this being a late booking. The proximity to the winter gardens was also great for our gig. However, we were very disappointed in the cleanliness. The room was filthy. Dubious stains on bed sheets and towels, detritus under beds. Mould in bathroom. No evidence of the room having been cleaned recently at all. Hence we did not feel comfortable sleeping in the bedding, did not sleep well and sadly were glad to leave in the morning. We cannot recommend this accommodation. Considering the lack of cleanliness and hygiene the room was extremely expensive.
Cheap & Cheerful :-)
Great hosts, polite and friendly, cheap and cheerful what more could you want?
Dont go here
Room needed painting bad tiny room for a family of 4 hile room was mouldy defo would not stay here
You get what you pay for.
With the price and the details given about the room in the description i wasn't expecting luxury so i wasn't overly upset when i was shown my room. It certainly was 'basic' and i wouldn't recommend that room if your looking for anything other than a place to sleep. It could definitely do with a freshening up but at least the bed was comfy tho a bit creaky! Limited interaction with the owners but they both seemed pleasant and fairly helpful. Wouldn't book that room again but location great so might consider one of their better rooms if my usual hotels not available again.
Don’t bother
Hotel cost £150 for one night expected better for the price. Not worth that by any stretch of the imagination. Bathroom was awful dirty grout and the shower was not powerful enough. Husband scraped a load of dust from top of headboard as soon as we got in the room.
The man who owned was spot on very polite but all in all the stay was fine we only stayed the night because we went out dein
Location fantastic, good service. Free wifi. Unfortunately, a bit run down and a bit more cleaning required. Could also do with black out curtains. Parking available nearby (less than 500m) although need to pay.
The proprietors of this hotel are the nicest couple you could meet. There was a slight issue with one of our party having an urgent requirement, which they dealt with incredibly professionally and it meant the rest of the trip could carry on for the remaining party without significant incident.
Cheap, basic, friendly owners,1 night kind of place
Booked the hotel VERY last minute - it’s a very basic, cheap hotel but fine to stay for a night. Owners very friendly and accommodating. First arrived and wondered how to check in as no check in desk, bell or anything similar but a quick knock on the door and the owner came out. We was informed that we had booked the shared bathroom - something I overlooked and noticed as we got there! I was dreading it once I did notice but the shared facilities were clean and appeared to only be shared between 2 rooms so it was okay. Room very basic but if you want somewhere to just get your head down then you are fine. Additional touch of the tea/coffee and the little toiletries in the room made things more accommodating. I would stay again as a last minute somewhere to literally sleep kind of place but anything more, I would look elsewhere. It’s a cheap, basic, dated hotel but with friendly owners and clean.
Brilliant
Absolutely brilliant couple working very helpful couldn't ask for more. Thank you very much for brilliant stay.
Bad
The hotel had a bad smell as you walked in the door and throughout the hotel. The mugs in the room where very dirty and stained. The bed sheet had hairs over and so did the duvet.
The couple who run the hotel are such a friendly welcoming couple made us feel at home
There was no tower view. No internet limited tv channels. Shower was very hit and miss either freezing cold or boiling hot no inbetween. Room very dated. On plus side bed was ok.
Beautiful people, friendly, and nothing is ever too much, close to everything, Will deff be back.
Nice friendly staff. Room was fine, good comfy bed. TV not in great location. Shower very good, couple cracks in the wash basin.
Nice Easy Check In Lovely land lord and land lady Lovely polite and friendly Cleaner, will definitely stay again in the future xx
Clean and comfortable room. Quite compact but enough storage space for our weekend trip. Staff were friendly and approachable throughout our stay. Excellent location at a good price
Great location for the attractions, friendly and helpful staff.
Blurgh
On arrival i couldnt get in for 10 minutes , it was dingy , very dated , and an odd smell ... the room was dirty , holes in the walls broken shower and an uncomfortable mattress and to top it all an enexplained alarm blaring past midnight ,
Best friends hotel
Brilliant local . Cheap and cheerful . But the best bit is the owners. So chatty n welcoming easly have a friend for life. Communal room. Always make sure all guests are ok .
New year's eve
Although the owners were welcoming, the cleanliness of the hotel wasn't what we expected. The hotel's photo on website needs up dating as it's an old photo and the hotel appears to now be a different cokour! We were disappointed with cleanliness of our room , it smelt a little fusty there was dust on walls and in air vents. The mattress was also very uncomfortable needs up dating could feel every spring, we used the single quilt off the single bed as a mattress topper. We stayed with other friends who all had issues with their rooms. If it hadn't have been new years eve we would have moved to a different hotel.
Okay for a pit stop
Stayed for one night and our party took up most of the rooms. We had probably the only comfy bed and one woman said she had not slept at all and could feel every spring in the bed. I couldn't have a shower and the bathroom really needs gutting. Dirty grout, even the carpets felt sticky. No food provided either
Lovely hotel very clean very friendly and welcomingl would recommended to anyone looking to stay in the area
Owners are lovely, good location. 5 mins from beach.
Ideal hotel
Fantastic room, great prices, and lovely staff in an ideal location close to everything. Couldn't of wished for a better stay, thank you.
Bedroom was small but manageable. We felt the hotel needed a little bit of a make over. Mattress didn’t do it for us
Couples weekend away
Really pleasant stay fantastic and helpful hoteliers
Nice welcome from Sam the owner .hotel itself is lovely and clean and close to blackpool town centre with a nice view of the tower , they dont do breakfast but there is a lovely cafe at the end road or it is close to Mcdinalds , subway and other Cafes , we will deffinately be staying herr again oeyou certainly
The hotel was basic but had everything we needed for a weekend away, amazing location, 1 minute away from the centre and the owner was nice just wanted to make sure his hotel was looked after.
Close to seafront
Stopped overnight, arrived early, owner very friendly and kept our case until we got back later. Room was clean, basic and compact with small ensuite (1 person at a time). Tv and drink making facilities. Towels with complimentary toiletries. Bed comfy, we were next to the communal toilet which didn’t really present any problem. Overall typical Blackpool guest house, nothing fancy but clean rooms and friendly staff.
Very nice hotel close to the beach
To be honest everything was absolutely amazing hotel staff the room the price and everything What I can say you will do a good choice if u choose wilsons hotel
september
close to everything. owners very helpful. nice people. beds comfortable. price great. would stay again.
Lovely
Cheap and cheerful, absolutely lovely couple who own it, its clean and comfy, what more do you need? Lovely place will definately stay here again
Fantastic helpful family that made our stay more special. Close to all local amenities and most of the attractions. Fantastic hotel for the price will definitely go no there again no questions asked
Nice area, bad hotel
Check in was easy and pleasant, however things went downhill from there. We had a deluxe room, there were hairs on the pillow, broken lamps, the tv remote did not work, the shower and kettle were covered in limescale. When we went to use the shower after trying to remove some of the dirt from the shower head, it did not work. As we were a group of 7 we went to use one of the other 3 rooms showers to find that none of them worked. The owner advised that evening that the switches had all been tripped. The rooms were freezing and had no heating in them until we asked if they could turn the heating on. Once we asked the heating was turned on quite quickly to be fair to them, however in our room the heater being on unfortunately unearthed a pair of pants from the back of our heater that did not belong to us, this was disgusting. Also we paid our balance on arrival, then another payment was taken from my account for a night that had not been charged to us upon check in, this was there error and should have been advised to us as courteous before taking another payment. The only positive was the location, I have stayed in over 30 guest houses in Blackpool and this is one I would not return to.
great little b&b nice friendly owners
its not the Ritts but its nice little place bit dated but clean the man who runs this b&b was ever so helpful couldn't do enough for us and the only down side was breakfast wasn't in b&b it was in a cafe was at top of street but was 1 min away and the breakfast was great within two minutes of town enter and five minutes for madame tussauds great quite street definitely be stopping here again wasn't over priced like some other places
SADLY NOT FOR ME
Sorry to say i would not stay here again. It was nothing like how it appears on the website which must be very old pictures as the outside is now cream and cerise. Very run down. Room was very cold as neither the radiator or electric fan heater would work. Woken up on Sunday morning by people shouting and arguing and smashing glass. Not my kind of environment.
My stay was good the room was really clean and owner was really freindly and helpful only badpoint was needed double glazed windows as room was rather cold at night
Nice and clean hotel perfect for a nice break
Had a great stay and very clean the was no mention of any breakfast do not sure if this was available or not .
Nice hotel close to the beach
Both myself and my son enjoyed our stay, the hotel is a short walk from the beach and the shopping centres.
Convenient for all amenities
Clean and tidy and pleasant host value for money
Was an enjoyable stay
Was an enjoyable stay a few things could do with improving
Central location to promenade
Excellent location for shops, restaurants,, and attractions. eg, the dungeons, sealife centre, madame taussads, opposite coral island, a short walk to the beach and to Blackpool tower
Nice little hotel close to town centre
The rooms are small but recently decorated - a new owner in 2014. Loved the Van Gogh prints on the wall. Cosy, clean and with everything you need. Owned by an Indian so no cooked breakfast but a nice continental one. He was very friendly and even went to buy soya milk for me. Limited parking on the road but car parks nearby. V close to the beach and centre, but a quiet road. Can hear other guests TV through the wall but signs to ask everyone to keep the volume down. I would stay here again though my husband prefers somewhere bigger and further from the centre!
Budget accommodation
The triple room offered was not really suitable for 3 adults. The single bed would have been fine for a child but not an adult. The room was on the top floor. The window was locked and we had to ask the owners to unlock it for us. No air-conditioning available. All 3 nights were hot and close and we found the room uncomfortable despite the fact that the owner provided us with a fan on request. Standard of accommodation generally low.
my trip to wilson hotel blackpool
was told about a good car park a few streets a way that was secure at night and was cheep lock the car up and went by tram or walked lovely week would go to the hotel again they was very welcoming and helpful
Cheers lads
Stayed for 1 night for concert, very friendly got taken to room instantly, wasn't hassled in the morning when we checked out abit late- cheers lads.
l wouldn't recommend it to other people
Awful
Basic accommodation
We've started there before, en suite last time, and the room was basic but acceptable. We were only half board and could have added on the continental breakfast, which we did last year. Found that rather unsatisfying but they have a deal with a local cafe so you can opt for full English. The room's size (room 5) was slightly too small for a double, being more suitable as a single. The kettle was powered by a for gang extension, serving the lamp and other items we may have such as hair dryer, straighteners etc. The extension lead was too short, the flex and gang not able to reach the floor fully. The kettle base was pulled from the drawer twice because of this. An easy fix that I would hope will be taken on board. The window was even open or shut s the sash tension needed adjusting. A basic room with basic facilities and we would consider staying there again.
Dated hotel
Very dated hotel in need of refurbishment Mould on wall and curtains budget room was very small about 9ft by 9ft had to share a shower and toilet with other guests very noisy on the street its situated wouldn't use again
Great host
Very nice area and had a great view of blackpool tower from our room. Room was clean and host was friendly and helpful.
Nice fellow and good value for money
Close to all the action and good value for the money, man on reception very helpful and pleasant, me and the Mrs are looking forward to returning there, go to the tower dungeon tour. It's a laugh, not for small children thoe
Never stay there again, need a good clean no colour just white wall not what it is like on the Web site
if you want comfort, go somewhere else!
Found the staff unfriendly. Was not happy at sharing 1 toilet (without a wash hand basin), the size of room was too small, filled with 1 piece of furniture ( aka a bedside cabinet) doubling up as a make shift tea stand, with a missing drawer. Toilet roll holder above sink with a toilet roll? Bed was not comfortable, overall not a pleasant stay. The pictures on the web site, with towel swans on bed, must have been from another hotel, deffinately not from this hotel!
Disappointing
Stayed in Blackpool for a weekend. Hotel was not big enough to enjoy, unfortunately.
Cool stay
Very enjoyable lovely clean room and staff were polite
Owner/staff were very friendly. The TV in the room is tiny for the room size and viewing from the general area made it it almost impossible to see the picture. The remote for the TV did work, despite a member of the staff promising to get a replacement remote, never happened.
Tiny family room
Our "FAMILY ROOM" was just like a small box room in a council house.
Wilsons Hotel - What Tower View?
Poor, there was no breakfast served in the establishment, the staff were helpful at check in & the hotel advertises a "Tower View" but this was not seen at all.
Basic but reflected in price
This is a very basic room. Hot shower, clean sheets and towels. Very dated but that’s reflected in the price. Smelt a little damp but saw this in other reviews so took a can of air freshener and gave it a quick squirt. You can park for an hour outside, big carpark 5 mins away. Lovely cafe ‘greasy spoon’ on the corner for a good breakfast.
