Simply superb from the first minute to the last minute - especially the staff!

Fantastic hotel in the heart of Zurich. Friendly staff who are always willing to offer assistance. Cleanliness to a high standard both in the room amd around the hotel. Rooms are spacious and cozy.

The Widder Hotel exceeded all my expectations! I booked this hotel based on past reviews and after staying there, I will always make it a point to stay there while visiting Zurich.

Great hotel, excellent service

This was one of the most beautiful hotels and experience I have ever been. Perfect location in the old town. Staff was just great and welcoming. Everyone speaks perfect English. Bar and restaurant both beautiful. At the bar restaurant, they had live music, great atmosphere. Rooms were impeccable. Highly recommend. I’ll definitely come back here next time.

Great location. Great staff and for us the outdoor garden restaurant and bar were perfect. Oh and without asking or knowing they had the capability they charged our electric car. Can’t say enough good things.

Excellent Hotel

Well-located, well-designed, attentive service, quality finishes throughout the property and in the rooms. Reminded us of The Mark hotel in NY, one of our favorites.

Dinner at Widder Restaurant was a great experience.

Excellent staff and perfect location. But this is the most overpriced hotel I have ever stayed at. Rooms are very poorly designed as is most of the hotel. There is nothing there to justify a price of around $700 per night in off season in February.

Everything about the Widder is absolutely wonderful: location, comfort, stye. service, food! Gorgeous property with super comfortable, modern and beautifully appointed rooms with gorgeous decor that reflects the vintage nature of the building and the contemporary boutique hotel setting. Great bathroom with awesome shower. Comfortable bed -- they have a pillow menu! Every staff member we met was very personable and couldn't do enough for us. I highly recommend the Widder for a truly luxurious experience!!

A Most Beautiful Stay

The Widder Hotel is so much more than a luxury boutique hotel. The location is incredible and there is so much at your fingertips as soon as you step out of the door (as well as if you don't leave the property at all - Widder Bar is a must!). Personally, I am blown away by the rich history of the 700 years old buildings themselves and how they were so thoughtfully entwined when creating this incredibly chic hotel. The staff is so lovely, warm and kind. Staying at the Widder was such a beautiful ending to our time in Switzerland. I can't wait to return one day!

Superb stay!

Stunning hotel in a great part of the city. The hotel was spotless, everything from the room to the smell in the reception and common areas. The breakfast was fantastic and in all aspects the service was super friendly and nothing was too much of an ask!

One word - amazing

One word - amazing

Accidentally booked two reservations and the hotel refused to cancel one so we ended up paying twice. There is a warren of hallways and stairs and elevators to get to the room - we got lost twice. No alcohol in mini bar. Furnishings in room were oddly placed, didn't match decor, and badly needed replacing/updating. Poor service/no accountability. For this price stay at Baur au Lac or Kindli. This hotel has gone way downhill since I used to stay there 15 years ago. AVOID.

This hotel is amazing - absolutely stunning. They’ve created a masterpiece by combining 9 medieval townhouses and transforming them into a luxury hotel. The result is unbelievable. The staff is wonderful - accommodating, friendly and there for your every need. A stay at The Widder is a must.

I have stayed at the Widder many times and always find it to be a special place to stay. The service is excellent - friendly and exceptionally helpful. I also like the unique features of the building with its combination of old and modern that works so well. It really is an individual hotel with no two rooms the same although they are all very well furnished and equipped. A further feature is that the hotel is situated in a central yet quiet position just off the Bahnhofstrasse and just a short walk from the Hauptbahnhof and a pleasant stroll to the old city or to the lake.

The room was fantastic. The only negative is no plugs near the bed and only one restaurant with not many seatings.

The Widder hotel is unique property consisting of 5 old houses put together .Every room is different and the lift shows the old stone work. There is the August Restaurant which is fun and open all day.

I have always lived the Widder Hotel as it is unique. The location is in the old town but very near to the new town . The August restaurant is just what I like as it is open nearly all the time.

Wonderful luxury boutique hotel

Spacious room with beautifully restored property at the center of the old town in Zurich. Wonderful small boutique luxury hotel. The restaurant and Bar is a must visit. Room is not cheap but worth every dollar. Strongly recommend.

The friendly and helpful staff were very kind to my energetic young son, 6-years old. The loft style room was unique and clean. The location was perfect.

Two Thumbs Way Up

impeccable service, unparalleled atmosphere, ideal location

This fantastic hotel is located just a 10 minute walk from the main train station, just off the main street. It's a quiet property surrounded by boutique shops. It only takes a couple of minutes to walk to St Peter's Church and then onto Fraumunster. The staff (front desk, concierge, housekeeping, restaurant and bar staff) were extremely efficient and helpful; they made our stay smooth and hassle-free. We had breakfast included in our room rate and this was excellent; good tasting, plenty of food (hot and cold) and a decent cup of tea! The mini-bar in our room was refilled each day with alcohol, chocolate, nuts and fruit. As we were celebrating a special occasion, the staff had very kindly provided us with champagne in our room. The Widder Bar was packed on the Friday night we arrived, but the live music and jolly crowd meant the atmosphere was amazing. The comprehensive library of drinks was eye-watering! The bar staff made excellent cocktails. The room was spacious and well appointed with a comfortable furniture and two sleek TVs; however, my only gripe was that the access to power sockets was not easy. We had fantastic views over Rennweg and could hear the church bells tolling. The bathroom was tidy with great toiletries (and a TV in the mirror). Overall, we would be delighted to stay here again.

Reception walked me to my room which was a great opener. Stayed in a 2 level suite which was really nice. Secure. Good staff. Great amenities. Tub. Shower. Pay movies. Chocolates and Candy. Quiet. The hotel is surrounded by shops and restaurants. great stay.

Quality high-end accomidations and service.

I have stayed at the Widder Hotel a total of 18 nights over the last decade. The Widder is one of the most unique and quality hotels you can stay at in Zurich. Every room is unique and the craftsmanship of each room is amazing. Service is impeccable, food is great and the Widder bar has one of the largest selections of Scotch in Europe. The glass elevator is a work of art. The Widder is not cheap but you get what you pay for. I highly recommend staying here if its within your means.

True 5 star experience

This is what a five star hotel should always be. A collection of old homes in the heart of Zurich that have been adapted and remodeled, the Widder Hotel offers impeccable service, rooms and bathrooms spacious and well appointed, common areas beautiful all with a unique combination of modern amenities with old world charm. All for much less that what you pay at other hotels of that level in the area. Widder hotel has become one of my new favorites. Pictures included are of room # 202.

Superb boutique hotel in Zurich

Hotel Widder is centrally locates, walking distance from the train station and in the heart of the old town. The staff was inct sibyl helpgul in providing recommendations for dinner and activities, while the hite itself was attentive to every detail. Very clean, luxurious, relaxing, and entertaining. There’s a fantastic bar attached to the hotel, and a restaurant that looked great.

Home from Home

This is a beautiful hotel in a wonderful, central location in Zurich. The building itself is very old and remains beautifully maintained. The mix of wood, steel, glass and leather is tasteful and interesting. The staff were immensely helpful throughout my stay and nothing was too much. Breakfast was nice, tasty, but not extensive, but the location and friendliness of the staff made up for it.
