I never checked in. When I arrived, there had been a power outage. There was no heat, hot water etc. Staff didn't know the power would be restored. With that, I had to go to another hotel. This is probably a great property otherwise.
A very average hotel. Nothing compared to the pics Expedia shows on their website. Staff is ok
Need to upgrade coffee service I room. Real creamer instead of that nasty powder.
Comfortable and productive stay
Perfect spot for a work trip. Near Foggy Bottom and Dupont Metro Stations with decent dining options nearby. Check-in and -out were a breeze. My room was tidy and modest. Space was at a premium (and the layout was a bit gerrymandered), and still the room had everything I needed for a productive work trip, including a microwave, mini fridge, black out curtains, and good wifi. I look forward to staying again.
Great Place to Stay
Great place to stay and affordable. This our second visit and definitely will come back again. Quiet and close to downtown attractions. My husband and enjoy the Casta's Rum bar that is just under the hotel.
A number of these rooms are directly over the open air back room of a rum bar. Great place for drinks, but it’s not a great place to get a good night’s sleep. You could hear music and loud conversations late into the night.
Nobody working here
The hotel was fine - not bad, not special. But there was an oddly noticeable lack of staff.
Washington a city to enjoy!
Amazing city Washington! I loved it
The staff had great service and the location was near many shops. The downside was that the building seemed very old with facilities that had wear and tear. The room was a lot smaller than expected and there was no centralized heat; the heating system had poor quality and circulation. The bed was not comfortable. I was not satisfied nor very comfortable during my stay. I hope improvements will be made regarding these concerns.
Friendly staff. Convenient location
Great stay!
The room was decently-sized, had a fridge and microwave, and was comfortable and clean. The bathroom is a bit small but manageable. The location is EXCELLENT! I love Dupont Circle and this hotel is a great location to explore that area or walk to the metro or bus stops to easily travel elsewhere
Extremely friendly staff near the White House, fair value, a bit noisy because of nearby hospital and ambulances, walking distance to many dining opportunities. Rented a suite with kitchenette. Would do it again
I love everything except: -No wine glasses at all in case you decide to bring a bottle of wine with you. -Very noisy in the morning as construction is happening within the place and also late evenings as there is a restaurant with outdoor seating.
Fiyat performans olarak çok memnun kaldık. Çok yeni bir otel değil ama çok temiz ve rahattı. Yürüyerek tüm washington ziyaretimizi tamamladık. Gönül rahatlığıyla kalınabilir.
Clean, easy to access property with friendly staff.
West End Gem
Great location in West End. I had king suite which was like being in a one bedroom apartment - lots of space.
Great stay! Clean & comfortable rooms. Super helpful & friendly staff. Excellent location & Castas is terrific.
excellent receptionist
Clean and friendly staff. Great location.
Overall pleasurable experience. The rooms are quite large. Not having an exercise facility was a big con. I had to find a gym and get day passes for $25 per day.
Location, cleanliness and friendly staff
Everything was good untill the last night because our room was not serviced and we had to sleep in the room just they way we left in the morning. Wet towels, trash wasn't picked up, beds were not done the same as the bathroom.
This is an excellent hotel if you are visiting DC and wanting to be close to the Capitol and museums. The staff went over and above to help wherever they could, and were genuine and friendly. Beds were extremely comfortable and the room was dead quiet for a great sleep. Although there is no parking on site, there are plenty of options in the immediate area. Nobody wants to pay for parking, but it is a reality for built up areas such as this. Hotel is located within easy walking of the Metro as well as several restaurants. It is in a great walking neighborhood, with lots to see and do. We felt very safe during the day and at night. Would absolutely recommend.
When I checked in at around 5pm there was no one at the register, I saw someone in the office but she didn't come to the front.
I loved my stay! The great thing was the cold filtered water machine in the lobby and the room was excellent. The only thing was I was here on a Saturday night and the restaurant/bar next door was loud late into the night so just beware and being a noise canceling device if possible. Otherwise it was excellent and I would absolutely stay here again!
Quick Get Away
My stay was great for what we planned. My husband and I just wanted an overnight stay to break the norm. The room was super cute. Nice set up. Bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was a little small but. Every thing was clean. Staff was nice.
The property was clean, quiet, easy to navigate. Parking across the street was fine for us. We got a suite which was very large and comfortable. I recommend the suite.
Courteous and respectful
Friendly and professional
Staff were very friendly and courteous
Bathroom was leaking, Carpet was dirty Room size small Towel was dirty No parking available , it was self park on different property.
Clean and extremely quiet room. A/c was cold. It’s not a luxury property, but the room was more than adequate, large for DC with a small bathroom. Lots of dining options within a few short blocks. And an easy mile walk to the Lincoln Memorial and the mall.
Very pleasant stay. Great location. Would be better if the water tap in the bathroom is higher and not so close to the sink edge.
Tad below average
The strange layout of the room and single seat sofa made watching television together impossible. The shared end table had only one working outlet and useless USB plugs. Fortunately we brought extension cords with us, (CPAP users require outlets near bed) even though one front desk attendant said they had one to use while the next said no we don’t have any for use. One of the two luggage racks was broken. The location of this hotel is the only reason we stayed.
Great location with nice view but noisy at nights and uncomfortable pillows
It was an ideal location. Cozy and comfortable
Staff were so friendly and helpful! The beds were super comfy and the room was so nice. Great location, just down the street from a couple of amazing little breakfast spots. We really loved it and will book again if we go back to DC!
Very good!
Good location
Wonderful place to stay.
Very cute hotel. Room was spacious and clean. Shower was great. Loved having a fridge and microwave. Most quiet place I've ever stayed. This was the only hotel during GW graduation weekend that had reasonable rates.
Everything was clean and fresh however they didn’t deliver additional towels when we requested. Also were out of coffee pods for 2 of the 3 days we were there. There is a bar next door that was very noisy on the weekend nights we stayed. Avoid rooms that face the street!
Quiet and very comfortable. Nice size rooms and helpful staff.
Broken shower
Bath tub faucet broken and fell off preventing shower working.
Quiet neighborhood until got awakened at 4:30 am by garbage collection.
A very nice place to stay in DC.
average hotel, clean, staff is friendly.
Don’t stay here
No hot water unless you ran it for fifteen minutes. Limited tissue and towels. A cup for coffee would be nice compared to paper cups
The manager on duty, gets a bad attitude
This was an adequate hotel
Easy walk from the metro. Overall, location was okay. Rooms large but not designed well. No workout facilities was a disappointment.
Attached bar very loud.
The downstairs bar was quite noisy.
Outstanding hotel and a large comfortable room
Convenient and comfortable
Nice, large room with separate sitting area. Clean, comfortable and extremely convenient location
Wonderful stay and location.
I have stayed at this location twice - once with my teenage son and most recently for work. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. I also love the kitchenette and the fact that the room is divided. The spacing allowed my son to watch tv while I did some work across the room at the table. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well.
Will definitely return
The beds are comfortable. The property is well maintained.
Nice place
the pillows honestly were the best part! lovely room as well!
Hotel is in a great location, hotel and rooms really clean Beware! Hotels.com says it is free parking when in fact, there is no parking on site. You need to park a street over and park at the Ritz Carlton for 40 dollars a night with no in out privileges.
All went well so far
A nice place to stay. Biggest issue was when I booked through Expedia, self parking was free. Not the case. Management never reached out to me after I left a request to speak to them the afternoon before. Hotel (Hilton) should insure their advertisements are correct.
Great hotel, great area, walking distance to many neighborhoods and shops. Sadly one of the few hotels in dc that doesn’t charge a bullkrap resort fee.
Property currently undergoing extensive renovations. Good for the future, but noisy and disruptive now. Staff pleasant and helpful. Very limited food options. No late breakfasts at this location. Site is on busy motorway. Not too far from Metro, but area is carcentric and unappealing to pedestrians. Adequate for the conference we attended, but not desirable for travelers seeking an uplifting experience.
Great alternative to the big hotels. Clean, great location.
Location and area was great The breakfast bar area had signs stating it was effectively condemned by the local fire service and breakfast was worthy of a 1star review st best! We ended up going to McDonald’s (5min walk) instead!
I spent quite some time prior to my trip attempting to decide where to stay as I would only be in DC for one night. And decided on this place because it gave the allure of being quite fancy given the high price they were charging per night, and based on recent reviews, I took the bait. Obviously, people rated this not based on being qualified travelers, but the location being a good spot, I guess. Although far from any monument or historical places of interest. The guy at the front desk was not professional enough to greet incoming customers. And the room which faced an apartment building ever so near was very disappointing. Thus, there was no view whatsoever and I had to ensure curtains were drawn as to prevent anyone from the other building casually looking at me in my hotel room. Then there was advertisement of the hotel having a restaurant, Cuban none other. Great news for me as I surely assumed the place would have delicious Cuban coffee. The restaurant was practically in the basement and to my surprise, did not serve coffee! I was treated poorly by the waiter who immediately told me that I could not order anything from the menu because Brunch was over and dinner would not begin till 2 hours later. Bewildered why he did not tell me all this prior to sitting me on an uncomfortable bench. It was then that I asked for coffee and then when I was told that a Cuban restaurant in DC did not have coffee! I should have gone with my gut and stayed near Union Station.
Friendly and competent staff. Comfortable room with all the needed necessities. Would recommend this establishment to family and friend.
Not quite up to expectations.
Two beds and a lounger were what I expected to have for 3 ladies overnight. But two beds and a chair instead. Front desk tried to change us rooms but different rate then. Ok went back to original room with a cot. It was fine overall, a few directions were off. No parking across the street and no reservation for said part available. Was told around the next two blocks. Found a block and half next to Hyatt. Cheaper $31 overnight.Restaurant was a surprise as it was more like a basement hangout. So it was overall nice but maybe look elsewhere next time.
Good stay. One disappointing thing was the electrical outlet on the lamp fried my mom’s phone cord and she had to buy new cords. Let front desk know and I am still waiting to hear from the manager to see if she can be reimbursed.
Very convenient and comfortable
Great location, very clean and comfortable. About 3 blocks from the subway station. We stayed only for a weekend and wanted a good location as we didn't have much time to spend commuting to places.
The West End is an old building (probably always an hotel), refurbished with, like the name hints, new tapestry. The floors are uneven, the bathroom (at least in my room) was miniscule, the lobby smelled slightly smokey, the room supply basic, and the towels small. Although I appreciated the filtered water supply in the lobby.
Very good value
I enjoyed my stay for the long weekend. I was there only for the morning then out all day until the evening. It was fun even with the rain I made the best of it and the stay was great.
Perfect location
Walking distance from Foggy Bottom metro. Very clean! Quiet! I was able to check in at 9:30am!
Beyond expectations
This hotel was beyond what I expected. It smells amazing as soon as you walk in to the lobby. The rooms are so spacious and very clean. The staff was very helpful in helping my friends and I find parking. I now have a favorite place to stay if I need to spend the night in DC!
Good service
Clean and good smelling. Quiet. Blackout shades available. Super close to everything
Nice stay
Great boutique type hotel! Everything was great! Bathroom was small, but clean and nice
Excellent location. Facilities (gym etc) limited and rooms small
Friendly staff
Air conditioning freezes and makes a lot of sounds. Pillows too big.
Worst room in the hotel
For starters I booked a king bed and was given a double bed. When asked, the receptionist said they were overbooked. I asked to be in another floor and was told that there was no other room available. I stayed in a room right next to the HVAC machines and the noise from them ruined my night. I couldn’t sleep because the machines’s noise was unbearable. Never staying here again. Bad service, bad room. It was clean though.
I love the character of the hotel and I loved my room.
It’s in the center of happening place in DC. Everything, dining, places of interest etc, is walkable distance
Recommend staying at other hotels in the area
Location is great and check-in was easy/friendly front desk. Hadn’t stayed here yet so thought I’d give it a try. Though the hotel is smoke free my room smelled of cigarette smoke. Poor phone reception and while wi-fi was free the connection was slow. There are other hotels in the same neighborhood that are much more comfortable at around the same cost.
We only stay a night here but would definitly look to stay here again the room has all the amenities needed to stay a good week if needed. We only had a parking issue as it is in an opposite building and not on site that had to be paid for separately which was not that big of a deal. Overlall an amazing experience would definitely book with them again.
I had a really nice stay at the West End. However, when I arrived there were used and dirty towels in the bathroom (behind the door, so probably just forgotten by the staff, can happen, not a big deal). Otherwise the room was tidy and clean. My main complaint was the internet connection. It took up to half a hour (!) until I could register /log in to the provided network and when I finally had access to the internet, it was super slow and basically not existent, normal pages stopped loading after minutes of trying, and that happened on both my phone and my laptop, so the internet was basically unusable. Another thing to mention is that there is a club/bar right underneath the hotel, so there were lots of people outside and it was very loud. While this didn't bother me and did not affect my stay, maybe other people might want to know about that. Overall I had a pleasant stay and the staff was nice.
Bad service, bad facilities. Not recommended. Also absolutely overpriced.
The staff didn’t really clean the bathroom during our stay. They removed garbage, replaced towels and made beds but the sink, toilet and shower were not actually cleaned
Convenient location not far from the metro and an excellent base for walking around Washington and seeing the sights including the White House.
The folks that work the front desk and the cleaning staff work SO HARD to make the clients happy. This is a great location and the pillows/comforters are sooooo comfortable. We stayed in a suite and it was terrific because my husband could watch basketball while I watched the news in the BR. Also could heat up food and the coffee is Starbucks they have in the room.
I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the room. The bed, pillow and linens were super comfy. It was a little noisy as I had a room overlooking the street but overall a wonderful experience. I would stay here again.
Good stay
The hotel is beautiful, safe, and clean. Love the location. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful. Upon checkin, the guy was not very communicative. I had to ask questions to find out any of the details about the hotel. I did not have hot water the first day there, and I informed the staff about it. They said, "Ok, we will look into it." I'm not sure if anything was done because no one left me a note or told me anything. The water was still not hot that evening, but the next morning it was very hot! Casta's restaurant breakfast and dinners were great. The self-parking was difficult, and again we had to ask for instructions. I would have liked an email or something when I made the reservation to tell me about where to park. The address I would have used to park is completely different from the address I used to arrive at the hotel. It would have saved me a lot of driving in circles.
Breakfast was horrible. I was there only 8:30 and almost everything went out. Also, the place for breakfast was not good, kind of old and the floor was really dirty. You can still see the table was not fully cleaned after last person used. Plus, the food was microwave food.
Overall, it was a perfect place to stay.
There is a bar/club that is directly below the Hotel. I am sure that during the week everything is fine but Friday night after a long day of traveling my family of four could not fall asleep due to incredibly loud music. The staff was very generous and helpful and we did get to move rooms for Saturday night. The rooms and the area are great, the staff friendly and helpful, just stay on the upper floors on the weekend!
Our non-smoking room (101) had a cigarette odor upon entry. Otherwise it was clean. There were no comfortable chairs in the room - only old straight chairs. Most importantly, our first floor room was just above a very noisy bar, with loud music and voices until well after midnight. Our relatives also said it was noisy in their room on the 5th floor.
Linens and soaps were plentiful and clean. Room was above a loud Cuban rum house and the smoke and noise would be in our room until 11pm. I asked for a room change and they said they were all booked. We got sick because of the smoke in our room. No one told us about our free breakfast and what time and where. I realized after the fact that we were never told and I had paid for it. No one told us about anything. The free drinking water, safe box included. No one welcomed us at the front desk. They were quick to let us know about $100 credit card deposit for smoking in our room... I did not feel welcomed. There was usually, no one at the front desk in the AM. I had to ask the janitor for extra towels. Would not book here ever again.

Good location parking is across the street. The room was very good.
