An outdated facility, room was not very clean and the decor was dated. The beds were comfortable. The location to the University, Ulster Museum, and Botanical Gardens were exceptional. A healthy walk to city centre. The staff was kind and helpful. They allowed us to store our luggage for the day after we checked out.

Wouldn’t recommend 😕

It was in a good location but the place was very dated. Carpet strip was coming through my husband stepped on it and cut his foot.

Weekend away

Very expensive hotel for the room we had. Then they charged us for parking which I thought was a bit of a joke. We paid €500 for 2 nights. The girl in reception was lovely.

Unsatisfactory experience

Upon arrival i was told there was no food available in the hotel so after a long tiring day, I had to go in search of dinner. The room facilities left much to be desired with faulty media equipment and no air conditioning and the towels in the bathroom didnt look fresh and the soaps were part used. All in all not a place I'd return to or recommend.

The hotel is very dated and in need of an overhaul.

Disappointment

Friendly but not well groomed staff, hotel had no restaurant for evening meals or breakfast! This made it very inconvenient for my stay and had to make other arrangements to eat. Overall very poor and wouldn't recommend anyone to stay.

Mini getaway

The best part of our stay in this hotel was that it was very accessible for us as we attended an event in the pub right beside the hotel. When we walked into the hotel first we felt like it was dark, dingy & had an eerie atmosphere. The check-in was ok not much information was given to us. Then when we entered the room it looked dirty, old fashioned & had a weird smell. We felt that everything that was in the room was dirty - the kettle had limescale inside, carpet was worn, walls were dirty, water pressure in the taps in the bathroom were low. The worst part of our stay was the price we payed for the car park. We payed £7 which converts to €10. Plus the check-out experience was not pleasant, there was no one at the reception desk when we approached it & the guy just asked for our room number & then asked for the money for the carpark - not a hi/hello how was your stay. He just looked unbothered & uninterested.

Was so disappointed by how much this property has declined as we used to go to Christmas partys in it regularly and always has a great time but when we arrived on Saturday it was instantly noticeable how neglected it has become. Phone in room covered in some sticky debris with blonde hair adhered to it. View from room was the back of a busy portaloo for the adjacent bar so had to keep curtains closed for privacy. Shower door did not contain the water when showering so had to use towels to dry the floor. No mention at any point of paid parking (even on check-in when registering vehicle details then the next day had the rudest male receptionist refuse to lift barrier as we “need to pay” and when I remarked there was a sign advising “Free Guest Parking” was told that that was for “OUR guests” and i had to pay “because i booked with someone else (Expedia) and it was up to them to tell about the paid parking”.

Great service throughout our two night stay

Great location, within walking distance of pretty much the whole city. Staff were very helpful and efficient, breakfast was good, room of decent size and nice bar/lounge area. Shower was not good, very little pressure and the bathroom seemed very old and probably in need of being done up. Overall, we had a good experience and would stay again for convenience

Basic But Staff Great !!

Its very basic but the staff in there are very friendly and work really hard. The hotel needs a full modernisation from top to bottom but to just sleep there its fine

Worst place I've been to

Carpets stained no bulb in the hallway girl on reception attitude was really bad could smell old smoke hair in the bathroom sink will defo not go back I never continue my stay I went else where

My food In. restaurant was ok but my problem was the people in the room next door kept me awake with there love making when I said to reception on checkout all they did was snigger at me so I’m afraid I won’t be going back as I’ve stayed in lots of different hotels across the world n never had this problem before

Disappointing stay

I booked a night here for my husbands birthday, location is really good but that is about all. We booked a double room, which was clean but very outdated. Description said tea/coffee making facilities but we didn't even have a kettle! From midnight right through until 9am there was constant banging and shouting coming from the other rooms around us, sounded like an all night rave. Got up in the morning to have a shower but no hot water, absolutely freezing! Read less

Night Stay

Had a 2 night stay. Staff very friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Room lovely with special attention to COVID-19. Would definitely recommend.

The stay was just ok . My payment was taken out of card which I wanted to pay at start with cash. On return to room second evening door was open . Manager came up checked room no answers how it was open, we pulled door on leaveing and checked it. No answer not very helpful .

Last minute booking

2nd time staying here. It is a good hotel and the price and location are tough to beat but.... And there is a but? There's no air con in room. Yes it's Ireland so what. We couldn't sleep with the muggy heat in our room. With the window open we had to put up with an alarm going off nearby for around an hour and a half. Also whilst good value prices are great maybe they attract a different sort of customer?. Added to the heat and alarms was a couple of buffoons in an nearby room talking (& arguing) like it was the middle of the day, not half 5/6am in the morning!?! But happy to try again as these could all easily be one off things and just bad luck to he ave all 3 at once!

Family time.

Reception staff were lovely. I had no room service and needed to ask for a rubbish bag to empty room. Noisy in a sat night, my 8 yr old had to wear her ear defenders to sleep. Mid week would be best if you have small kids. Best hotel for parking which can be a pain in Belfast.

Hotel is across from the University, decent restaurants and services in a walkable area but a little futher from city center than we anticipated. Service was lovely, hotel is clean.

Although our stay was cut short, we could not fault the property however we were unaware of the boxing going on therefore the noise and numerous amount of people really did make us feel uncomfortable.

O.k. Stay

I only stayed a night and it was o.k. However, the TV antenna was pulled out and the TV had to be reprogrammed, also the kettle did not work and needed to be replaced. It was a cold night, I tried to set up the heating correctly but it would not get warm.Staff was very friendly , quick and super helpful but the room should have been checked and been o.k. before I moved in. Car park facility was great to have. Location is cool.

Went to Belfast for 1 night. Hotel looked ok but the bedroom needed a good clean. The radiator had a liad of dust on it. The mirrors were smeary. The floor needed a good hoover. The tiles in bathroom needed a good scrub especially behind the bathroom door. Bath wasnt clean.

Outdated and uncomfortable

Bed was two singles pushed together, it was very uncomfortable felt like the springs had gone. There are no charging ports for phones and sockets too far away from bedside. Shower Luke warm water.

V friendly welcome on arrival. Clean reception area, very spacious. Room excellent. Clean and spacious. Not air conditioned but open window allowed for ventilation. Bar well stocked. Breakfast staff very friendly and helpful. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Location was great, not too close to the busy city centre but within easy walking distance to it.

The hotel staff were very accommodating and friendly, they are a reflection of the Irish spirit. From the very moment I checked in to the time I checked out they were spot on. The hotel itself was a good experience, not the best ever, but just good enough to consider staying there again if I ever visit Belfast again.

I was led to believe that i had booked a superior double room, but after viewing a friends room which was supposed to be a twin that they had booked. The rooms were exactly the same. No difference between standard and superior.

No security at night!

There is no security late at night! I had several unwanted people knocking on my door at all hours! Reception was contacted after the 3rd and 4th who had been seen leaving the hotel minutes after entering. I was moved to a "better" room for my 2nd night but it was directly above a wedding party so, again, I was kept awake. I spoke with the general manager and duty manager after each incident and did receive a small refund and an apology. They have said they would contact the police about the unwanted persons to my door. I recommend the hotel has adequate security measures in place for after hours. Genuine guests will be happy to provide their room queue at the main entrance late at night, knowing that they feel secure. Upon checking out, I also made the team aware of issues with both rooms, such as the room being too hot, shower issues and general uncleanliness.

Rooms need a revamp but they were clean.

The room.was not nice. There was absolutely no care factor what so ever and had to call for milk in the morning to go with our very bad selection of tea and coffee. Not sure if it was because we used a voucher that they put us in the worst room ever, stinky mouldy bathroom and right next to the hall entry door that slammed loudly every time some one walked through it. Check in was manic unorganised and embarrassing and check out was rude no eye contact and absolutely no care factor of how our stay was. I felt like we stayed in a cheap motel on the side of an abandoned highway. Stars for location. But will never stay here again or reccomend

It was booked for my daughter a lot of confusion when I booked room as I requested breakfast price was changed twice and when the down for breakfast they were told they weren't on the list after it had been paid .. my daughter informed bath had mould on it and Def was worth the money that was paid

The beds were clean and comfortable. The decor is a bit dated. Bathroom floor had a clump of hair behind the door, other than that it was clean. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Hotel was busy, but no noise during the night which actually surprised us.

Hotel was as expected, clean and tidy with polite staff. The pillows were the usual hotel rubbish and not enough tea/coffee sachets, other than that it was fine

Liked the car parking, location near Queens, general ambiance. Disliked our room as no view, dysfunctional lighting switches, couldn't get shower turned off easily and no refund for one of our rooms, due to hospitalisation,? Specially when I am a frequent customer, which was totally overlooked. They need to consider customers on a one to one basis.

My stay at The Wellington Park Hotel

I enjoyed my stay at the Wellington Park Hotel which was in walking distance to the University, Botanical gardens and many cafe's, shops & restaurants. My room was clean and comfortable, albeit the bathroom was in need of a make over. Free parking and Wifi was provided at the hotel.

The Hotel is near the city center. The amount I paid for room only 95 euro plus 5 pound parking fee is way to much for a hotel like this.Its very basic but the staff are very friendly and very helpful and the food is very nice also. I did cut my finger on something in the bathroom but I couldn't find out what it was, when I informed reception in the morning the young fella at the desk kindly got me a plaster, in fairness although it was sore at the time and it is still sore its not a matter of life and death. If they drop their prices a bit I would go back to this place.

i stayed at the hotel on an extremely busy night..St Patricks night...and was concerned about possible crowds and noise during my stay.. due to excellent organisation and management.. the student crowds were confined to a separate area from guests and suitable bedrooms were allocated to avoid high noise levels. .I was extremely impressed with the forward planning and consideration for guests!

Convenient to bars and restaurants and Belfast night life. Peaceful nights sleep with no noise of the surroundings areas. Low price car parking. Would recommend it as a value for money place to stay in bustling Belfast

Great location, beautiful lobby etc but as soon as you get to the bedroom side it’s like a completely different hotel. Frayed carpets, chunks out of the walls,needs painted etc

Location was great and the car parking was secure. Will stay here again for sure. Only let down was the breakfast. Overall very good.

The rooms were very clean and spacious. Staff at front desk were very helpful and informative.

There was limited heating in the room, the mattress was very uncomfortable, and the room just had generally a cold feel to it

Rundown room in need of an update and clean.

Friendly staff, The room was nothing like photos with dirty marks on the switches and walls. Spend the extra £20 and stay at a 4* instead. Bathroom in need of an update.

Brief and too the point. Enjoyed running/walking in the Botanical gardens. Staff very approachable and helpful as usual. Very decent price.

Functional

Stayed at hotel as was venue for a conference, and whilst functional the hotel and rooms were far too hot. The restaurant wasn’t open on the evening, although bar food was available and the bar staff were very helpful and excellent. The hot water in room took over 15mins to come through and involved running the taps and bath to accelerate the process!

Friendly, helpful staff, good central location for city exploration. Hotel decor is dated, lounge/bar area desperately needs tlc - not somewhere we wanted to hang about in so we didn't spend any time / money there.

Ok if on a budget.

Ok. Friendly checkin not so friendly checkout. Hotel is dated but room was pretty good, nice size and good en-suite. Budget friendly. Parking is £5 per night if not booked thru hotel. Hotel bar prices pretty good. Breakfast was good, friendly guy serving. £10 if not included in your booking. (ps, their sterling/euro exchange rate very good, may save on transaction charges with your bank if the rate suits you on the day).

We only stayed one night, bed was very comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is ok for a one night stop over. It is in need of some TLC as looks dated. Also in the morning there was no hot water. We rang reception who were very helpful but told us that because it was an old building the water sometimes took a while to run through the pipes. It took 30 mins for tepid water to come through so we couldn't have a shower

Great staff, comfy stay

Lovely staff members, had a rowdy group next door, however staff handled it quickly and efficiently. Hotel was clean and tea making facilities were wonderful. Would definitely stay again. Reception 5* service.

Value for money

Great value for money and good location, hotel just getting a bit tired, rooms were clean, but uncomfortably warm . Staff were very friendly, but breakfast was awful almost like an after thought. Spend your £10 and go out and have breakfast overall 6 out of ten would be my mark !!!

We did not expect anything greatbas we didn’t pay a lot of money but the heat in the room was mind blown, we could not control it at all, we had to sleep with the window open all night and the noise from the local pub was not helping! The shower gel/shampoo was not good! I also rang reception to see if they had any toothpaste and they said no! Maybe something to think about! We could not keep the beside lights on without having all the lights on which was very inconvenient at bed time! Happy with the room in terms of cleanliness

Nice hotel. Was extremely happy with the service and the food and the local area. Close enough to walk into town although I enjoyed the ambiance of the outside hotel bar.

Nice hotel, would stay again!

Nice hotel with friendly reception staff. Bed really comfy, only downside was the shower wasn’t that powerful or hot. Had to wait ages to heat up even a tiny bit. Otherwise good hotel and would stay again.

Staff were lovely but hotel and bedroom were a let down. It all needs updated. The bathroom had mound in it and the bed was hard. We could hear the music from the bar. Walls could do with being washed or repainted.

So run down bathroom dirty bedroom dusty pillows so uncomfortable never again

Excellent customer service and went the extra mile with everything we asked for! Will definitely be returning in the future!
