I loved it. It was quiet, clean and comfortable. We had a with a private bathroom. much better than a motel. We did not stay for breakfast as we had to move on. I hope to go back and stay for a few days.

This place is so lovely! Close to the glow worm caves, clean, the view is beautiful, and the hot tub was such an awesome extra. Host was very nice as well. Highly recommend!!

We chose this B&B mainly because of very good reviews and were very pleased with our choice.

This is a nice room BUT there is a big proviso - you will be sharing a bathroom with many other people. In our view, this fact should be prominent on the listing and not require the prospective customer to have to go through reviews, etc. to see this. There are many people for whom this is not a problem but conversely there are people like us who are simply not interested in a sharing bathroom. Other than that, the host is very friendly, the location is nice (a bit of road noise), and the room, while small, is comfortable.

Has everything we needed for a short stay. The host was very nice.

Great B&B

We had a room with an ensuite. It was large, clean and had a great view over the valley. Owner (and pet dogs) were very friendly. Continental breakfast was excellent.

It was a very different bed and breakfast experience. Did not ever meet or talk to the host. Instructions were wrote on a board as we came in. Room was big and clean. Nice views of the countryside. Continental breakfast at anytime. The hot tub was awesome. Only downside was we needed to carry our bags to the furthest room in the rain and right next to a highway so traffic noise all night

Lovely B&B Near Waitomo Caves and Kiwi House

Beautiful property, lovely outdoor space, very comfortable room and really helpful and friendly owner. It was certainly located to the activities we wanted to do in the area.

Beautiful place to stay!

This was a very comfortable B&B and a beautiful location. You can tell the owner takes pride in the place as it has beautiful landscaping all around. He has also very helpful in advising us about the local area and places to eat.

The room and property were great. Very comfortable and clean. Enjoyed the hot tub and breakfast.

This was a lovely property. Very roomy and comfortable beds. It was also quiet though it was close to the main road.

It felt like fairytale, beautiful surroundings, clean and well decorated room, and the shared bathroom was implacable! Supper clean! A superb stay!

Was a great place to rejuvenate after our long flight.

If I ever booked something like their “Honeymoon Suite” again, I’m sure my wife would divorce me. Where to start? Worn 80’s decor, threadbare but hard small bath towels, the shower mat was wet when we arrived, no place for suitcases but the floor, carpet worn through in places, a shared hot tub just off the little “private” patio, another unit’s patio 3 ft from the bathroom window, endless highway traffic noise - I kept checking that the window was indeed closed - still busy at 2:30 am, but down to a car every minute or so at 3:30 am, no one to greet you on arrival, loud voices through the lightweight door into the main house (which we weren’t to use), must drag suitcases across grass to get to the room, it was wet in the a.m. and my suitcase shed grass clippings into the car and every subsequent hotel room for days. Now we are swearing off any and all B&Bs in the future. Close to Waitomo, but not worth it 😡

Lovely place to stay.

Interesting b/b set up in a no hassle manner. Great views, very comfortable with full use of the facilities and grounds. Includes buffet breakfast. Shared bathroom but this wasn’t a big issue. Trevor was a most welcoming host. Recommended.

Great place to stay!

We booked our room same day! The bed was comfy! The host was attentive and friendly! The view from the garden was wonderful! We felt very much at home! It was nice and quiet and we slept very well!

We arrived later in the evening and it was hard to find and difficult to see the instructions for check in. It felt like we were walking up to someone’s house. The fresh fruit at breakfast was wonderful but the rest of breakfast was underwhelming.

Comfortable bed with spacious room. Easy access and close to golf course. Very helpful host with recommendations regarding dining options. Great continental breakfast and easy parking. Only thing to mention that we had some issue with operating the tv and no tea bags in the room. However easy over looked with all the other comforts.

This bed-and-breakfast was a very relaxing, comfortable, and peaceful stay. We enjoyed the patio overlooking the orchards. We enjoy walking through the orchards and finding a right plum. The breakfast was very enjoyable and the host quite pleasant

Lovely place, beautiful location friendly owner. Room great, only bed was too soft.

Arm’s-length owner who has an ice cream / cafe place a few km’s down the road that is his primary biz. Rooms were small, barely enough to open a suitcase on the floor. Thin walls. Shared bathrooms for up to six guests. Hugely moldy, nasty English muffins in morning. Good things: gorgeous, pastoral views when outside. Fresh plums, peaches, nectarines from orchard.

Beautiful room and views.

Great stop for 2 nights while we went to Waitomo caves. Host was great - even took our daughter out wakeboarding with his family!

Our host Trevor was very welcoming - the accomdations were wonderful The Hot Tub was so inviting - the place was super quiet, it was affordable and so beautiful!

Beautiful property, especially in December as the flowers were in full bloom and the smell was heavenly. The rooms are not fancy, but beds were comfortable and overall had everything we needed. Continental breakfast offered a nice selection of breads, cereal and fresh fruit. Trevor was a great host. Only thing is the road getting in is somewhat narrow, I would recommend getting there before dark!!

A perfect B&B, beautiful location, friendly staff, clean, 10/10 recommend

This is a self serve property as you do not get to meet any staff during your stay. Our room was okay and had it's own bathroom, but read the details carefully before booking as several rooms share a bathroom and we came across guests not happy with that arrangement. Walls are thin so you can clearly hear neighboring rooms. Nice location but also close to busy road.

We stayed here for one night and it was very lovely! We had been staying in hotels and this was a nice change of pace. It was nice to get more of a local feel. We especially enjoyed the hot tub overlooking the farms.

Awesome views! Great place to relax and unwind especially after doing the Off-the- beaten track Waitomo Glowworm Cave Tour.

A lovely setting and a nice, friendly house manager. However, a very odd set up. The honeymoon suite is getting pretty worn, with some stained carpeting and towels that were very rough and frayed, quite obviously in need of replacement. But more odd is the fact that the room has a door to an adjoining living room where (I’m guessing?) the people that own or manage the property stay. They were never noisy or inconsiderate, but it’s just an odd feeling for a honeymoon suite to have a connecting door to someone’s living quarters. It creates a distinct lack of a sense of privacy, and really should be walled off for a better division. Not that anyone was listening, but felt like we had to whisper anytime we were in the room so as not to have our conversation or other activities heard. Not a bad place, and again, a very nice location, but a few things that really detract from the overall experience.

Nice setting, clean, nice folks Unfortunately walls are thin, I could hear the neighbors talking.

Upon arrival, I saw my name and room number on a blackboard. Would have liked a sign to say that we don't need to see anyone to check in, but could go directly, unannounced and unchecked (apart from acknowledgement from a super friendly Labrador, although I think that was due more to the residual smell from a chicken sandwich) to our rooms. Nice and quiet. Liked the firm bed. Good water pressure and warmth from the shower, though bathroom hand basin is in an odd place - in an alcove off the hallway, so if you're brushing your teeth, you're open to view by people who wander past or you have them walk right behind you if they want to use the rest room or have a shower in the actual bathroom. Can't comment on breakfast as I had to get one the road early.

Charming bed and breakfast!

Breakfast with Jack. Bed was comfortable, everything was catered for, host friendly & accommodating. Great experience.

Beautiful property, comfortable bed. Breakfast was convenient. The highlight was Jack the lab, who joined us in the sitting room and was a wonderful host :)

We had a wonderful stay at Orchard Waitomo. Everything was perfect. We did not mind the share bathroom at all. I highly recommend.

I wish i spent longer at this beautiful estate. The host was very friendly and made sure my stay was comfortable. I found myself feeling very peaceful and relaxed during my time there and would love to go back again soon! All facilities were clean and organized with a homey feel to the space. Everything you may need is provided for you and if you forgot anything, just ask, they are very accommodating! Jack and Flynn made my stay even better with their welcoming tail wags and meows and extra cuddly cuddles. 11/10, felt right at home and wished i could have stayed longer. I recommend you go if you have the chance to!

Very quiet and lovely location.

Beautiful situation. Everything was easy. Sharing the bathroom was not easy as one of our stay has dementia so sharing is not so easy but in fact even tho there were 4 sets of guests it did not actually pose a problem. Breakfast easy & totally adequate. Good stay. Lovely dog n cat

Great location close to the Waitomo Caves. It had nice views of the valley and great stop on my way back to Auckland. Room was quiet and comfortable.

Cosy B&B. Can recommend. Breakfast is basically cereals and toast, but really that's all anyone needs unless your going on a big hike.

We enjoyed our stay. We were greeted by the owner the day we got there and in the next morning for breakfast. He also gave us an excellent suggestion for the evening meal. We would recommend this place.

We highly recommend Waitomo Orchard Estate B&B. It is a lovely place, in an exceptionally beautiful location. The host was very gracious and welcoming.

Quaint home with great views

It was so nice!

No staff available at check in. The sign at the door says to text the owner when you arrive which i did. No response. I went to my assigned room to find that there was a bolt lock on the outside of the door. I cannot understand why that door could be locked from the outside. The property is beautiful but that made me very uncomfortable as a solo traveller. I decided to book elsewhere for the rest of my stay.

We knew we would be sharing a bathroom, but did not realize it would be ONE bathing area and two sinks shared with three other rooms. It was a bit uncomfortalbe a few times. The room was cute with lovely views over the farmland around, so we were happy with that, and the Continental breakfast. It was a little tricky to find, even though it is right along the main road (and a little noisy because of that), but the countryside is beautiful.

B and B to avoid

I let myself get sucked in by the inexplicably positive reviews without reading them very carefully, which is the only way you will know before booking this place that you are likely to share one sink, one shower, and two toilets with potentially 8 people. And this is not the only discomfort. My room was taken up almost entirely by the bed. There was no foldable suitcase platform or any place to put it out of the way. It is typical in a B and B that access to common areas will compensate for limited space in your own room. Not here. There is a spacious living room/kitchen area that is off limits (also not indicated in the advertising). There is nice out door space and a good view, but this was by far the worst B and B where I've stayed. It's a glorified short-term rooming house where you get cereal and toast in the morning (but not even a pot of fresh coffee!).

Waitomo Orchard B & B was quiet and comfortable and extremely close to the waitomo caves. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is also a great outdoor area to relax in. The provided breakfast was good and there's even a kitchen to prepare a meal of you don't want to drive into town for a meal.

DRIVE SLOWLY onto the property. The owner's off leash dog, Jack, will likely be waiting to greet you, but he seems elderly and to move slowly, so be very careful as you drive in! We stayed in Room 6, which is the family studio with 2 double beds. It was in my opinion the best option on the propety and felt the most private. This was a really good stay and I highly recommend it for Waitamo. PROS: -Beautiful view and property -Jack the Dog greets and escorts you to your room -The shower has great heat and water pressure and the shampoo and soap options are top notch -Property is generally quiet (see below) -Very close to Waitamo Caves so perfect place to stay CONS -The plumbing is on the loud side and the door to the bathroom creaks. Notes: --The coffee with continental breakfast was instant coffee. I don't drink coffee, but my husband does. He said it was really good for instant coffee, but that I should mention it in my review for people who are particular about the coffee to plan ahead. --Continental breakfast was yogurt, granola bars, bread that you could add butter, peanut butter, jam, honey, and I think some other options to, and cereal. --It's self check in with the owner nearby if you have questions, but it was pretty straightforward so it didn't matter that he wasn't there.

This was a lovely spot. The view exceptional, the room very nicely decorated and comfortable. Although it was a shared bathroom, it was modern, clean, and nearby. The continental breakfast was lovely in the shared dining room, and the owners were very responsive. It was nice to sit and chat with other travellers. I recommend this place.

Not quiet or peaceful. Stayed in room 5 , although we had our own bathroom the room could have been cleaner. Mini fridge in room did not work, had to keep curtains closed for privacy as the hot tub was outside the room.

Charming charming property. Great parking. Decor is beautiful and rustic. Sparkling clean. Continental brekkie with lots of options. Very friendly dog on site if you are missing your furry friend! There are several units that share a bathroom and also several with ensuite.

Nice convenient

Great host, Trevor was very welcoming, lovely room, very nice breakfast, perfect location for the glow worms, 15 min. Drive. Best of all, the view, absolutely stunning, worth every penny, and Trevor has a lovely patio with comfortable furniture to relax in and soak it all in. We didn’t want to leave.

The place has an incredible view and the owner was very nice. The best part was Jack and I hope we had more time to spend in the property.

The host family works at the apple orchard and runs an ice-cream store too so check-in in self-serve. The property is beautiful and overlooks the many undulating hills in the area. You are greeted and followed by Jack the dog, and there is a cat too. Our room was nice but cold. We were freezing at night as the heat is on timer and we could not get around the setting.

This was such a great place to stay! Very clean and excellent set up :)

Amazing views

I don’t write reviews (good or bad) often. However, this place was by far one of the biggest highlights of my trip so far. The view from here is spectacular, the room was clean and comfortable. The staff and owner were beyond courteous, helpful, and are all around amazing people. It was an amazing stay and the next time I come this way I am not going to stay anywhere else but here!

There was nobody to greet us, absent owner. Phone contact made by us. Sharing of bathroom facilities with 8 people in total.
