Didn't see a soul, overpriced, pool spa bad condition not usable, broken chair leg, dirty cups! Saved by comfy bed and good shower pressure

So tropical beautiful place

The owners were very accommodating. They checked me in a bit early and held my luggage and food until I could check into a different accommodation 400 metres away. They were so nice and accommodating.

I liked the size of it and it has everything for self contained. But it was dirty bathroom, kitchen shelf’s were not cleaned floor in bathroom smelled like urine and stains everywhere. Furniture had thick dust on it. The outside light shined through the glass door we couldn’t get to sleep very well. Kitchen were dirty, drawer were crumbs and in general dirty! Sorry can’t recommend it. It doesn’t take much to clean properly

Nice little cottage but shower needs updating and carpets need cleaning and curtains need repairing Pools and spa need complete makeover. Facilities Need a general paint and update

Hello, my stay overall was very pleasant. There were some problems that I had to deal with as no office personnel were present. I have family that live on waiheke and so it was very convenient to be able to pick me up at the motel. My son and his wife will be expecting their 1 st baby at the end of January. I have already booked a room in late March. Hopefully Kelly can accommodate my wishes as I will be hosting dinners to celebrate the addition to the Wyatt and Ruth Dooley family. Thank you

The room that we stayed in is bit out of date and needs some new things. But, on the other side location is very convenient and overall it is good value for money. This is our second stay in this motel, and it is very likely we will come again.

Disappointing - photos don’t tell full story

Photos of the family unit seemed ok, and at $300 per night we thought that it surely had to be good for that price. The place had a “self service vibe” as we had to pick up a key from a lock box despite arriving at 2pm, and reception was never staffed. The place was dilapidated with bad smells from the kitchen, the fridge and the couch. The carpet was dirty and oily, and the shower was full of black marks on the wall. Bathroom had missing cupboard doors and a hole in the wall covered with tape and painted over (“that’ll fix ‘er”). Lots of locals on the island asked us “is it as bad as everyone says?” so it doesn’t have a good reputation, and we saw several disappointed looking guests walking past our room after just checking in. Google reviews are a bit more honest, but on both sites the owners post defensive replies blaming the guests for the issues. In fact this review will probably get a response from the owners saying “well you didn’t come and raise this with us” - well mate, it’s not our job to monitor the state of cleanliness of your motel. I doubt a carpet cleaner would have turned up at short notice. And in any case, apart from the cleaners who laughed about leaving an element on in a room all night, we only ever saw a staff member hurrying us out at check out time. All told, this and the passive aggressive note on the window at reception (“don’t call us unless it’s urgent”) give out a message that they don’t care about guest experience.

Very dated, but clean. Can’t comment on service because never saw any staff, not even reception. Had everything we needed except hair dryer.

Great central location.

A bit of maintenance required. There were no coat hangers and the bathroom door dind't close properly. The reception was closed most of the time we were there, even during the opening hours advertised.

Good base.

Good location and comfortable room with small outdoor space with table and chairs. Well equipped kitchen. Convenient for the hop on/off explorer bus service.

The Staff were very obliging and helpful and was easy to check in after hours. Would stay again at this motel. Had an enjoyable stay in Waiheke. Thankyou

location suited us as a base for island exploring

The unit that we stayed in was perfectly clean with modern amenities. It is very close to a nearby shops and market. This was our first stay in this motel, and we will come back again. This motel is now on the top of our list for next visits to Waiheke.

Great location

Property is very Waiheke Island, casual and quiet. Surrounded by trees and bushes, reasonably well maintained but quite old.

Weekend escape

Great location in the township of Ostend. Bus routes to many of the main beaches, wineries and restaurants on the island only a 2 min walk away. Comfortable room for a great price. Great for a weekend escape.

Handy, quiet spot

Very comfortable beds & a lovely quiet spot, super handy to shops & the bus lines. My only suggestion - add a mirror to the studio room. There wasnt a single mirror to be found which was a bit odd!

Nice get away

Nice location as close to all amenities- checkin easy - room nice n spacious- only wished there was aircon but at least the ranch slider was able to leave open as very hot while we stayed there.

Hassle free/ good location/nice view/ good recommendation for local taxi. Only negative was the shower pressure.

Clean and spacious

Accomodation was nice and clean , very large as well . We were able to arrange late check in directly with the owner . Beautiful views of the Island .

Don’t have open toilet brushes in any hotel or motel. It looks horrible and definitely not the most hygienic

Cheap and cheerful

It was a cosy place to situate ourselves. Brilliant for the bus links.

The bathroom area was very small and sliding door needs maintenance

Nice quiet motel and cool layout, with many of the units hidden in amongst the surrounding trees and bush.

We were there overnight for work so just a bed for the night, but quiet and clean.

Great hosts, plenty of space. Perfect for seeing all parts of the Island.

We loved the pool and trampoline for the girls, it freed them up to relax and burn off some travel build up. We even saw a tui!! The downstairs was cool and quiet, upstairs really comfortable, with the view to water and neat to hear the tree frogs all about.

Liked; central location within walking distance to what I needed. Upgrade of buildings and amenities would make this place awesome

The room was spacious and the kitchenette was well stocked. However the rooms were very warm and we couldn’t keep the windows open as there were no fly screens and lots of bugs around
