As a sing.e mom i brought my teenage boys to this wonderful resort solo for Speing Break. Our suite was absolutely amazing!!! The food was amazing. I recommed using uber for guarNteed time transportation.

Property is beautiful but the hotel seems short staffed, service at restaurants is not great, and honestly, the food is terrible. We expected better food for the prices we were paying. We ended up eating outside of the hotel every night because hotel food was so bad. However, the breakfast buffet is pretty good.

Lovely facility and grounds. Staff is friendly and extremely helpful. Two pool areas; one just off the hotel lobby and one down by the beach. Bars and food service provided at both pools. Beautiful beach area with chairs and umbrellas available. Located on gated secure grounds. Lap of luxury!

Amazing experience!

THE PROPERTY WAS BEAUTIFUL AND THE EMPLOYEES WERE ALL VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. I WOULD LIKE TO ACKNOWLEDGE KAYLOR, JUAN, AND THE REST OF THE GUYS WHO RAN US BACK AND FORTH FROM T3 AND THE BEACH. I ALSO WANT TO THANK THE WAIT STAFF FOR MAKING OUR DINING EXPERIENCES OUTSTANDING. LASTLY, THE RECEPTIONIST VIVIAN AND ERIC GAVE US GREAT SUGGESTIONS AND WERE VERY HELPFUL.

Our stay was lovely. The staff was incredible, very helpful. My only complaint is there were not enough chairs at the pool.

This is a hotel/ resort for families, there are no changing tables in any of the restrooms. Also no elevator to be able to take my baby's stroller around. The food is incredibly salty. The food options are very limited. It’s literally the same options every single day. WiFi they attempted to fix the connection but the connection was intermittent and it sucked the entire 7 days. There was a day where they printed the menu out to give to us so that we can view the menu to be able to order room service. The best thing about this place, the staff. They were so pleasant and accommodating during the entire trip.

I can’t say enough good things about his hotel. One of the best places I’ve ever stayed! Truly a 5 star experience when it comes to customer service, dining, the rooms, cleanliness, the activities! The beach is also very beautiful!! Breakfast buffet had so much variety, we loved every morning there. We can’t wait to come back!

Their beach is pretty. The resort sits in the middle of a reserve, we saw monkeys and deer.

It was awesome staying here… great people and great food along with hospitality!

Didn’t like the fact that when you book on Expedia they list it as all-inclusive. When you hear all inclusive you think free ….. but When you get there they pull the all switch. The lady at the front desk said it’s all-inclusive but it’s not. It will be 200$ per night if you want it. Scam to lure guest to the hotel. Hotel is far, not many places to eat the hotel. Food isn’t good, threw up & drinks are ok. They moved my room 3 times. After 12pm at night everything is dead at the hotel. If you want nightlife you would have to leave the hotel. Nothing to do at the nightlife at the hotel.

Pretty good hotel but based on the price I will rank it as meh, they are definitely charging for the location which is superb, basically the best beach in Costa Rica. That said their restaurants were a let down, the breakfast specifically was a joke, the orange juice was fake and the tortillas were so bad, kinda sad considering the hotel is in Guanacaste where they make the best home made tortillas. Staff was awesome and the hotel amenities were pretty good.

We had a great time, everything and everyone were amazing. We had the best time. I will say 10 of 10. I really want to come back.

This is a very comfortable hotel with spacious rooms and very kids friendly. The staff was very nice and always happy to help which makes things easier when travelling with children. The whole breakfast team was amazing, the guys transporting us around the resort were so helpful, and the people at the check in desk were always happy to answer our questions. We had a lovely time and our children loved it. Thank you!

Our stay was definitely one of a kind! The hotels is on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. We love the hotel and the amenities that it has to offer. One of the showers coming out from the beach is under repair, as well as the deck around the pool seems like it needs replacing but besides that everything else seems to be taken care of. Dinner and lunch options are really good BUT a bit overpriced at night. The theme night of Mexico was not that great as the menu descriptions did not match the food but besides that night, everything was tasty and fresh. The breakfast is definitely worth it so try that! The little town near by Brasilito and Flamingo had amazing restaurants but our beach was the best! We love that we always had access to golf carts for transportation and valet parking was fast, if you rent a car, which I recommend to do. The welcome drink was a small touch that was really nice and our room was amazing! Be prepared to walk and enjoy nature!

The property is big, quite, and very private.

Definitely one of Costa Rica’s top luxury resorts. The only thing missing was more days. Fantastic beach, pool (Wet Deck) , restaurants and Spa. We’ll be back!

Excellent place to stay

Wonderful Stay

Warm and friendly staff, very accommodating with any requests. Beautiful Beach with soft sand and warm waters. Loved the beach food and beverage service. Very pleased with this hotel! Our room has great view. It is tucked inside conchal reserva so we never left hotel other than a private boat trip.

It was an absolutely beautiful property. Views of the ocean were amazing. Our suite was so nice with a huge balcony right at the edge of the forest and ocean. The staff were phenomenal - special thanks to Ayeisha for all her great help with the logistics of celebrating a birthday in my group. And a big thanks to Eric at the front desk for taking great care of our check in and out, and to Gustavo and Alex and Daniella for all their great help as well. We especially liked the Peruvian buffet in the Cocina de Mercado. The only issue during our entire stay was the heating for the hot tub at the main pool area was not working. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time and would definitely come back for another stay!

I would not recommend this place to anyone. I stayed at Westin for 4 days before I stayed in w Hotel. The prices were double at W, but the service were not even comparable to the Westin. Staff here is not very friendly. Everything is pricey. Food was ok. And there is no one to help at the beach or help the activities.

Lovely stay and friendly staff. Highly reccomend the floating breakfast which includes a lot of options and can easily feed 4 people. The oceanview room was amazing and the grounds and beach area are clean and stunning!

The W is an absolutely beautiful property. The staff go above and beyond to make sure your every need is met while on your trip. The room was not only immaculate upon arrival but daily they made sure the room was spotless. The only downside is no entertainment in the evenings on property and not many dining options. We had to go to the Westin to eat dinner but not a big deal.

This is just a beautiful property on one of the nicest beaches in the world. We loved the fact that the surrounding area is a nature preserve, and even the beach area felt unspoiled, even though the pool and a restaurant were 100 feet away. Very well planned and designed. This allowed for abundant wildlife around us - monkeys, parrots, etc.

Gorgeous property

Incredible experience! The people were so kind, helpful and professional. They made every experience feel effortless. The beach is exceptional - beautiful white sand wity warm ocean water (down the beach a little ways at the Westin the beach is composed of more small shells - although it’s all gorgeous). The food was very good with diversity in the menu. It was expensive but I was expecting it to be worse relatively given others reviews. Food was expensive everywhere. We were there in April and I will say it’s very dry, not tropical feeling but the grounds are beautiful. Would stay here again for sure.

I didn’t like the room layout, and I didn’t like the fact that we had to prearrange taxi service through the hotel - at a premium price.

Amazing team great vibes pura vida

5 star property, 2 star front desk/security

The property is 5 star - the service is not. Pros: -The Golf cart guys, including the one standing there arranging our rides were absolutely excellent, friendly, prompt - just perfect. -Housekeeping was excellent as well. -A birthday celebration was really over the top, however, we think it was a way of making up for the next category. Cons: -Let's start with the annoying 'security' at the entrance. Our daughter lives minutes from the property and came to visit daily via uber. We would always give the front desk the requested info and they would email it to security. 3 days in a row, the main guard claimed he didn't have the email and would refuse entry - it was asinine! Finally, the front desk told him to put her on the automatic list through the end of our 5 night stay. It was a nightmare! -There is only one restaurant for breakfast and when you go there, they seat you and automatically tell you that the server will bring your coffee etc and then help yourself with the buffet. What they don't mention is that the buffet costs $84 per couple and that you may prefer to order breakfast from a menu. -Upon checkin, they run your cc for $2500, no big deal. But what was a big deal was they ran it a second time for $1K when we only had $650 in charges. It took us hounding them once back in the states and 13 days to fix their screw up. There were several other issues - no room to expound. Never again!@

Beautiful property! But what really stands out were the staff. They were the absolute best! From the freindly welcome ambassadors to checkin, everyone was super helpful and freindly.

The property is beautiful and staff are very nice. Only down side was the food options. The food was just not that good. Also, I wish they utilized the beach more. They provide beach chairs upon request and drink/food service upon request. It would be very helpful if they had the beach chairs already set up with full service. The beach would be utilized more as its beautiful!!! Also, this hotel should provide live music/DJ passed the 9 pm. Everything seems to die down after 9. So if you are looking to stay up and have fun, this may not be the hotel for you as it’s more quiet and leisurely. Otherwise, the property and the rooms are beautiful.

The staff and property grounds are excellent. Room size and lay out not good. Lobby is comfortable but not cozy. Dining options are limited and food is sub par with mostly american fare. The buildings are concrete and metal, do not give a cozy and comfortable feeling. Overall not a good value for the exorbitant rates they charge.

Fabulous hotel on the beach.

We had a fantastic stay at the W. The rooms are huge and the bed was very comfortable but what makes it incredible is the staff they are so kind and helpful. Thanks in particular to Carlos at the bar and the cart driver who we can’t remember the name of but helped us to find a Fiesta!

this property is clean !!!! the food is amazing, and the staffs are so helpful. i had my food made each time without salt and no sugar in my drinks and every time it was made with no hesitation. i love this resort and would definitely revisit.

Absolutely amazing resort

Amazing hotel. Best resort I've stayed in anywhere. The rooms were amazing, the whole vibe of the place being indoor/outdoor was gorgeous, the staff were so kind and generous with their time, the beach was beautiful. We just had such an amazing stay. Would highly recommend. The hotel was really flawless.

The W is a beautiful well maintained property. Our well appointed room had an unobstructed view of the ocean. The staff was wonderful and helpful. But, the ability to access the Reserve at Playa Conchal is maybe its best attribute. It's such an amaizing beach with just a few fellow guests there to enjoy it. We are already planning our return trip.

Not worth the cost

Nice property, but not quite W quality. Food is okay, but way overpriced. Breakfast has poor protein options. Staff walked inside our room while we were there without knocking twice, which was actually quite terrifying. Love Costa Rica, but will stay elsewhere next time.

Excellent I will stay there again

I don’t know what was better the food at every restaurant, EVERY time or their extremely friendly staff! The staff was friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable from start to finish. Only issue is one of the bartenders at the living room seemed to take advantage of my tipsy side. Because when we checked out, I noticed he charged us for premium cocktails, though we asked for the all inclusive alcohol and cocktails. That’s not fair and a total scam!

The property is beautiful the staff are amazing and they do a great job at accommodating your needs and they go above and beyond to make your stay special. I spent my birthday here and the staff made me feel so welcome and so comfortable so safe, so loved and so celebrated/ appreciate it. I truly loved my time here and was sad to leave.Highly recommend staying here you won’t regret it.

The best. Reserva Conchal is a beautiful area on Costa Rica's Golden Coast. The resort has unbelievable view of the ocean, beaches and mountains, where wildlife abounds. 2 large pools and a nice beach, all within a short walk. The sounds were wonderfully maintained and the staff could not have been more helpful meeting every request.

Best hotel and best staff ever!

Quiet, higher end resort with one of best beaches in Costa Rica. The service was first rate! Food very good.

Great staff, all were very friendly and attentive. I would have liked more dining options on the pro[erty and maybe more music by the pool area. WET area was more fun for the family. The beach area was great but maybe have more activities. The horse droppings not fun to navigate through so maybe a daily cleaning in that area.

Property was lovely, staff was friendly and attentive, beach was not crowded at all and easy to arrange tours off site.

It was OK. I thought it was all-inclusive but it was not. There was only an option to include the breakfast. No more. It was a little boring, honestly. The Westing, its brother hotel has more options and amenities and we found cheaper fares on it.

W Conchal

Great hotel overall. The location is spectacular and the proximity to the beach is a big plus. Having an adult pool is priceless and from the front desk to the servers at the restaurants, bars and by the pool are fenomenal. Great attention to detail all around.

Luxurious Stay on CR’s Gold Coast

Beautiful property- swimmable soft sand beach- best in the area! Perfect pools & good food ( room for improvement in variety & style but good). Excellent friendly service.

Luxurious hotel!

Beautiful hotel with fabulous white sand beach and exquisite pool areas. Very clean in the common areas and hotel rooms. Menus have mostly Costa Rican dishes with generous proportions. Bar service available on beach. Unfortunately they do have many locals trying to sell their wares on the beach. This is the same with most of the beach hotels in Costa Rica.

Fantastic stay!

The W Costa Rica resort is absolutely gorgeous and we had the best of time staying there. Our room was beautiful and really comfortable and clean with a breathtaking view on the ocean and the mountains. The people in the hotel could not have been nicer. The restaurants were so good with delicious food. We enjoyed floating in the pool and the beach in front of the hotel was the best beach all around. Absolutely an amazing stay!

Great 24 hours

We moved here after a horrible experience and couldnt have been happier. Wish we had booked here first.

Very expensive (male), they charge fees for everything even if you don't use it, never again

The property itself is beautiful and the setting on the beach is fantastic. Unfortunately, the prices they are charging for the rooms, food and amenities is just not on par with what you get. I want to caveat that I have traveled around the world and stayed at everything from five star resorts to Airbnb to tents when I was in the army. I am definitely a low maintenance person, but I expect to get what I pay for. That being said: The brunch is great. However, they could be doing a lot more to control the bug situation. There are flies on all the food, which makes it hard to want to eat anything. I get that it’s the bug season, but I’ve been many places where they have small table fans over the food and at the tables, which does a lot to help with the flies. Or they could just shut the doors to the indoor area where the food is?! Expect to be pissed off if you’re planning to lay by the pool. The drinks are way overpriced considering any ice you get immediately melts and ruins the drink. Again- I get that it is hot but maybe consider a different cup to serve drinks in rather than plastic? Metal maybe? I’m assuming this is a strategy to get people to drink more but for our group it just deterred us from ordering drinks altogether because it just sucked. Also, I assume they are just understaffed like everyone, but the wait for anything was crazy long!! Which leads me to eating at any of the restaurants. The food was okay.. not amazing but that’s fine. The service was meh.

This property was amazing. Great food, great service and great accommodations. A couple of thoughts that would of made my experience exceptional. The adult pool has several cabanas for rent that provide much needed shade. The other sun loungers offered little to no shade. I think some larger umbrellas or additional shade options are much needed for your guests health. Breakfasts can become boring when it’s the same thing everyday. I love you change up a few dishes here and there but some more creativity would make the cost more worth it. Eg fresh smoothie station, crepe station make it an experience like you make the other restaurants. Finally I could not find any list of daily events. I am not sure there were any. Was there a yoga class, a group hike, a cooking class etc. some daily experiences would of been welcomed.

The hotel is located in an amazing reserve. Easy access to a beautiful beach.

Would not go back

The hotel rooms are in different towers. We were in Tower 2, but I imagine the same issue is in all the towers. We could hear every conversation from our neighbors who woke up at 5:45am and talked on their phone until 8am. We could hear evey person walk by our hotel room all morning long. If you like to sleep past 6am, this is not the hotel for you. The other let down was the beach. There are only about 15 chairs, some broken and no umbrellas. No service on the beach either. For the amount of money charged/night ($750) I was expecting much better quality. We came to relax and left exhausted. This was our 4th hotel on our trip through Costa Rica and the only one with all these issues.

Gorgeous property with stunning pools, delightful drinks, friendly staff. The 7 course tasting was outstanding! I wish I could get the recipe for the Arenal pairing. Folks with kids and without kids agreed the family pool and adult pool should be swapped. We traveled with kids and met other sweet families. Many didn’t realize there was a Kids Club with activities. We walked to the pool and dinners from Tower 2. Easy to get shuttles, but the views of monkeys, birds, coatis, iguana and trees made the walk enjoyable. The monkeys woke us up at 5 am, but we were staying on EST anyway. We booked last minute and had 2 King bed rooms which were gorgeous with a fantastic view of the mountains from the shower and balcony. One room was on the corner and caught a great breeze. Only negatives - food and drink prices add up! The reasonable kids meals were generously plated and the red snapper was outstanding. I also wish they had a normal coffee maker in the room. Ours seemed to be more espresso style - which is too much for us. Many people hopped vans and headed into Tamarindo which a a fantastic, walkable town. The beach was beautiful and not crowded at all, but everyone stayed in the pool. Interesting fact - Russian oligarch’s yacht, the Pacific, was anchored off the coast.

Is amazing for couples or family

Beautifully designed new hotel. Gorgeous views from rooms. Rooms are ergonomic and guests friendly. High quality exquisite food. Very attentive and friendly staff. Big sandy beach is a big advantage. Beach amenities and service could be further developed to make this resort even more attractive.

A lovely facility with beautiful surroundings. Staff amazingly friendly and helpful. Glenda, the hostess at the main restaurant could not be more accommodating. Food was quite good and menu diverse. Only comments are the music at the pools can be overly loud and disruptive at times. And signage/ information about activities, etc are minimal. Would definitely return.

Wonderful Stay. Beautiful property!

Wonderful Resort. Beautiful rooms and pools. We chose not to pay for inclusive and feel we had good value. We enjoyed RH drinks poolside and DJ. My only negative (for any chain hotels in Costa Rica really) is the food is very commercial and not as good as eating off site. Still an amazing place but hotel food is not up to par with the local restaurants

Was absolutely disappointed in the management, paid for a suite and the room was moldy and they moved us to a basic room with no compensation for the change or the inconvenience. Would not stay again.

We chose the W for our Honeymoon and from the moment we arrived at the W, the staff was so warm, welcoming, and helpful. The particular staff members who went above and beyond for us were Glenda, Fabian, Andres, and Gerardo. We ate mostly at the Cocina Mercado on-site and the food was excellent. We especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet with traditional Costa Rican breakfast alongside homemade pastries with different specials every day. For a special night out, we ate at Latitude and enjoyed every bite. The Playa Conchal is the most beautiful beach that we saw in Costa Rica and you can easily spend multiple days laying on the beach and rotating between the two pools on-site. Playa Conchal will serve as our happy place in our mind’s eye for quite sometime. We booked several excursions through the Swiss Travel desk onsite and they handled all the details of our trip with care and comfort. The only downside of the W is that it is a bit isolated and takes planning logistics to visit nearby towns and sites, so having Swiss Travel handle everything was vey helpful. This was our first time staying at a W and if the W Reserva Conchal is reflective of their properties and service worldwide we will definitely target their properties for future travel plans. Truly a first class experience!
