Great hospitality

Eric’s one night stay

We loved our stay. The lady at the front desk was so welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed the view of the sunset and the lake. The spa tub is excellent. Overall an excellent experience.

Wonderful staff and accommodating

The spa area is amazing. Our room was great except for the door you could see outside between door and door frame, There needs to be some updates,

Carol (owner)was so pleasant and helpful, room was clean kitchen adequately stocked, thermal hot tub was a nice bonus, beautiful lake view on open decking area, gorgeous sunsets, within easy walking to center of town with plenty of shoppes and food/dining whatever you desired. Big information center in town and super helpful. Throughly enjoyed our stay there so much to see and do. Will recommend it without hesitation.

In need of refurbishment and quite a walk to town

We stayed in downstairs king bed room with spa tub. We booked this room noy knowing that this was the weekend of the NZ Ironman competition , however the room was very expensive and very tired. In fact this is one of the most expensive places we have stayed in NZ and definitely not the best quality. The spa tub and area around also needs updating. The laundry facility mentioned is the host doing the wash for you for a extra charge. The hotel is a 25 minute walk into town where all the restaurants are. The spa pools near reception are nice. Maybe other rooms at the hotel have been refurbished but ours was definitely overdue.

This is an older property but it is well maintained and clean. The bed was comfortable with good quality bedding.

Wow! They have 3 large warm thermal pools out the back. They were so lovely we didn't get time to use our room's private spa.

The title says it all. Received a wonderful welcome. Room was a little dated but was perfectly clean and very spacious, and the bed was HUGE!! Incredible views from the deck. Short stroll into town.

Close to Lake, very nice staff. Very pokey room, caught a cockroach & many ants. I understand this is an older Motel, & we stayed there because it was cheaper then most. The staff do their best, we enjoyed the chocolate pieces left each day.

Lovely host who was very welcoming, the accommodation was clean and adequate with partial views of the lake. The mineral pool was an added bonus after an active day. Town centre and cafes were either a 5minute drive or 15 minute walk. Motel was also only a 5 minute walk to the lakeside and walkways. Very happy with this accommodation

Excellant and friendly service. Easy to get to, prefect location. The view was amazing, the rooms were large and the outside area was amazing. Would highly recommend staying here. Made our weekend prefect.

My wife & I enjoyed our two night stay at this property, it’s somewhat dated but very clean. The owners a were very friendly and obliging, and our balcony was a nice place to sit and relax overlooking the lake.

Carol was so hospitable and kind. The pool area is great and the bed was comfortable.

A tidy room but the bathroom needed a bit of work. The place seemed if they had tried but just very unfinished looking

Adults only stay

This is an adults only hotel, just letting everyone know as we did not see that listed at hotels.com anywhere ahead of time. Only 17 plus. Very kind hostess, would have loved more time to be able to enjoy the soaking tubs, our itinerary just didnt allow for that. Very cool mcdonalds in town!

Great base to explore the surrounding Taupo area. Nice walking along the lake shore.

Lady at reception was very friendly. Room looked a bit dated and the bed was uncomfortable. Kept rolling into the middle. Good parking.

This was a lovely place to stay. Parking good. Full kitchen so everything available to cook a meal and serve. Shower was fantastic and the bed was so comfortable. The spa and thermal pools was wonderful and just what is needed after a day of walking around the sites and jetboat riding. The hosts were lovely and very helpful. We will definitely stay here again.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Convenient to the the lakeshore. And of course not may motels have Spa tubs in the room with water heated from thermal spring. The rooms were large with separate dining and kitchen areas - more like an AirBnB than a motel room. We had a very pleasant two-night stay at this property.

We were arriving after check in hrs, I rang though to discuss with hotel and they were so lovely and helpful. Accommodating to our schedule perfectly. Very friendly when we meet in the morning. Have stayed a couple times now with this hotel. Recommend to friends and family for sure. 10/10 stay in Taupo!! Situated directly opposite the lake with stunning views. Gorgeous to wake up to. And our private thermal spa amazing.

Carol and her team made us feel very welcome. The Hotel us clise to the lake and not far from the township. We love the mineral spa in our room and we will def stay there again

The SPA pool is super excellent and extremely big. It is sort of outdoor but private.The facility slightly old but they did the wonderful mantaince to keep clean and safe. Really enjoy this stay!

I enjoyed my one night at the hotel. The design is very dated but I enjoyed the view and atmosphere of the property. It is very clean and the bed was firm and comfortable . I used the private bath in our room. The outdoor pools were wonderful and I would have used them if I had more time.

Staff were excellent and very helpful! Dining restaurant served excellent food and spa was great. Main Pool was not working while we were there unfortunately. Great location.

This property was outstanding! We throughly enjoyed our stay. The room was big, very clean and bed comfy. The thermal pools onsite were such a treat for us after we walked the Crossing. Highly recommended this property. We will definitely be staying here again. Thank you to the staff for an outstanding property.

We love this motel-one of the gems of New Zealand. Great get away spot with easy access to the lake, mountains, botanic gardens, CBD, and private mineral spa-perfect for after doing th Tongariro Alpine Crossing.

Lovely place in Taupo

Hotel itself is older but it is well maintained and cared for. The lady that owns/manages the property is very friendly and helpful. The bed was a bit firmer than I like, but that’s a personal preference thing. View of the lake from the deck was spectacular. Rooms were very spacious. Good value for sure.

The property needs a serious upgrade, and until then I wouldn’t say it is 4star, but very clean and we appreciated their helpfulness with storing our e-bikes

The thermal pools are amazing. The renovation work is looking terrific too.

The advertisement for the Motel did not state that it is undergoing refurbishment. My suite was a little ‘tired’ and consequently I thought, expensive. The thermal pools have been completely rebuilt and are excellent. The Management opened them especially for me. Once complete, I think the refurbished Motel and Spa will be excellent.

A hidden gem in Taupo if wanting a place to stay that’s not expensive and flashy. Loved the individual thermal hot spa for each room. Greatly appreciated after a long day of driving. Great water pressure in shower. Only downside - no Skytv/Netflix.

The staff were very friendly. The downside was advertising guest laundry facilities and not being available. You were able to get valet laundry at a sizeable fee.

The pool was not available. The laundry was not available.

So cool to book a room with a private outdoor mineral water tub to use. The room was also nice and comfortable, with some useful kitchen amenities like a French press coffee pot/plunger coffee.

Modest but comfortable small hotel with its own thermal spa and pool. Nice location near the lake. Short drive to town center.

The room was clean and quiet. Loved the thermal spa, it was great to come home to after a day out. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay again.

A little out-dated and minor upgrades would benefit the overall look of the suites. Units could benefit from patio friendly dishes to use when bbqing. No BBQ brush. Dated interior (brown carpet). Amenities do not seem to be cleaned or taken care of. Only one pack of coffee for the morning (not useful for couples). Also tiles and blocks around the pool are concern for safety.

Great location, loved the thermal tub in our King room but this place needs an upgrade! Very outdated & the pavers around entrance at steps to pool were loose & covered with fake grass which was dangerous! Has great potential though with some much needed love & attention :)

Hotel staff are exceptional

The motel is in a great location, set back from the main road so you don't hear the traffic noise, but just across the road from the lake front. The thermal baths were wonderful to soak in too. The staff were all very lovely and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

The staff is very friendly. Seems outdated decors but not a problem at all. Easy parking. Very quiet and my daughter slept so good especially after the hot pool and spa.

Fantastic private spa, great service from the owners. The only possible issue is that the bed was a bit too hard.

Absolutely wonderful , very clean and tidy ,great view of the lake and not to far from the town center .Hot spa was a bonus used it every day ,Very welcoming owner and informative .

The welcome was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was the biggest we've had and well equipped. The kitchen and bathroom looked fairly new and there was everything you needed. The spa bath was old but really pleasant. The room was not decorated to our taste but was clean and very comfortable. Great location for walking along the lake and in to the town centre. Not too far from restaurants. Enjoyed our stay.

The apartment was large The apartment was very noisy from upstairs and the swimming pool had broken tiles around it needs work done, it is only a 3 star maximum and it a bit over priced for the Quality.

Great choice for a Toupo adventure.
