Would never stay at this hotel again
I stated for 3 nights from the 5 December 2024 and had an awful experience. I requested a double bed and paid extra as part of my booking to then be provided with 2 single beds on arrival. I then spoke to reception and the only room with a double had a damp problem. Reception said no other rooms were available but I had friends arriving the next day. They were provided with double beds and when I raised this with reception they were able to provide another room to me but couldn't tell me why it wasn't available before my friends arrived. They rejected my refund request and made my trip difficult for no reason. I spoke to 3 different members of staff in reception and they were unwilling to help. My trip to Lisbon was good overall but this hotel was the only negative experience. Having this problem which was not dealt with appropriately meant I was not comfortable raising any other issue which may have arisen during my stay. Although they upgraded me nothing further was provided for the inconvenience and staff were avoidant the rest of the trip
Great service and location, comfortable stay
We enjoyed our stay, especially our son who slept in the living room with its own door and TV. The bedroom also had a door and TV, and the bathroom worked well for us with plenty of hot water. Although the room furnishings are old and carpets stained, we were fine with the slippers the hotel provided. The kitchenette included a 2 burner stove, counter height fridge, convection microwave oven and dishwasher. There were plenty of dishes and a good pan, pot and water kettle but limited cooking utensils. It’s probably best for heating ready made meals and salads. Location was great, steps to the Restauradores metro station and plaza which had numerous shops and bus stops, including tourist buses. We were a 1/2 block to one of the funiculars and to the Rossio train station. We normally stay in apartments, but had a fiasco with another apartment that had no reception and no luggage storage, only self check in at 4pm, which is very late after our overnight transatlantic flight left us very tired on arrival at 10 am. Since this is a full service Aparthotel, we were able to check in at 11:30 am from the airport, and were given our room. Had the room not been available, they also have luggage storage. Maid service was also very good, towels and bedding good, and the pull out sofa, which pulled out to 2 twin beds, was very comfortable.
Very nice hitel
I liked staying at VIP Executive Eden Aparthotel.
Fabio at the reception desk was very helpful. Jessica, a housekeeping staff, was amazing, efficient, and helpful. Some people may say that this hotel is dated, but I find it very charming. In addition, the location is ideal for transit and restaurant choices.
The location is excellent. Condition of the hotel is good, but overall a convenient price/benefit
Great location
Safe great location
The pool on hotel's top terrace.
Enjoyed our stay here
Nice quiet hotel in an excellent location. Bus, train and hop on off right out the hotel entrance. A little dated and some maintenance issues but due to the location, who cares. Stayed 5 nights and loved it. Breakfast was a 3 out of 5 stars.
Amazing stay, super pool and very comfy bed
Amazing hotel - great value for money. The terrace area and pool is fantastic and was well worth having for a dip and sunbathe after exploring the city. The cocktails are well made and affordable, and the staff were all amazingly helpful. We got a free upgrade and had a room with a balcony, and kitchen / bathroom. The beds and pillows were super comfortable too!
Our first time in Lisbon, was not sure what to expect. The staff were helpful and was easy to communicate with. The hotel was in a good position for us.
The location was amazing. The staff member who checked us in was personable and lovely to speak with, however when speaking with other front desk staff, I felt that they were too busy to even say hi. The rooftop pool with attentive bar staff was the best way to unwind after a long
Location location location It was a perfect hotel to explore anywhere you wanted to go in minutes. While the hotel needs a bit of an update. It was clean and the staff were extremely professional and helpful.
If you want a great location and happy to accept an accommodation that is could do with a little refurb, but is fine, this is great and we got a nice price on it. The hotel has good WiFi, a nice rooftop area with a bar and small, but nice pool. Room had kitchenette with fridge, microwave dishwasher etc, but we only used the fridge. Would benefit from more electric socket points, perhaps USB charging points too.
The VIP Éden was a nice place to stay. First impression was great. Reception team were friendly and efficient. The public areas are a little dark and dated but spotlessly clean. The rooms were a good size and spotlessly clean. The shower was good and powerful too. However the decor is dated and there were some maintenance issues. The bathroom extractor didn’t work, the sink and bath taps were quite stiff. The wardrobe door was quite loose too and all the door hinges need oiling to stop them creaking. The beds were very comfortable and the housekeeping was first class. The pool was fine and a welcome place on a warm afternoon. The terrace bar was small but well run. There were a few friendly barmen there who looked after us very well. Denner especially did so. Introducing me to a local cocktail and putting pink peppercorns in a g&t. The man’s an asset to the business. Breakfast was decent. Good range of fruit, pastries, breads and cereals. Limited cooked items but the coffee was really good. The breakfast team are efficient but the dining room is a little small for the size of hotel. Great location for the city with lots to do and see within a short distance. Would happily stay there again.
Very old hotel Carpet and wall in poor condition I would not allow my kids to walk barefoot Beds were clean and confortable
The location could not have been better. Room was cute. Could use a little character but was fine. Breakfast was superb. Selection was fantastic. Not a lot of hot food options but heavy on fruit. Place was quiet. Great deal for the money. Highly recommend as a good no frills hotel
Great location on a popular square on the main road with bus stops and subway stations right out front. Nice hotel with small kitchen in the room. The bathroom is old but it's fine.
Very central and lovely breakfast. Terrace and pool great
Location is good. Appliances of property is so old.
10 for location and value for money
I think the two best locations for tourist in Lisbon are Barrio Alto and Rossio square. This hotel is right on the square and next to the station. Ideal for dining options, shopping and nightlife. It’s also great value for money with its equipped kitchen and great size. The service wAs awesome? Had my room changed once I complained about the noise from a building construction nearby, also had a great view from my room 423 of Rossio square. the amazing roof top has great city and sunset views. I give it a 10 for location and value for money.
The place over all was like the hotel from The Shining. Our first room had a stink smell, a broken closet door that was off the hinges and stained carpets from a previous flood. They did move our room and offered a free breakfast that they forgot to mention to thee dining room causing a minor inconvenience. Considering the price, I wouldn’t stay there again.
Rooms are a bit tired. Coffee machine did not work.
Helpful and friendly staff.
Bed bugs
Fantastic location but property is very dated. Air conditioning did not work. One elevator was not working for majority of our time there. Rooms need an overhaul. Check in and check out extremely slow.
Great location, great hotel!
Excellent location.
Great stay. Very comfortable and very helpful friendly staff.
Great space for the price. Clean rooms and professional staff. Drinks on the rooftop terrace was a lovely addition too! Would definitely come back here next time we’re in Lisbon.
Outstanding staff, outstanding location, outstanding cleanliness. We could have asked for any more. Our check in (Matilde?) was so welcoming. We loved this place and I wish we could’ve stayed longer.
Room: Although large, the furniture and carpet are outdated. The 9th-floor hallway needs cleaning and removal of bleach-type stains on the carpet. Hand sanitizers: located immediately outside the elevator stains on the wall need cleaning. Breakfast although good, is the same every day.- suggest a little change.
Great hotel
Great location, very central and close to lots of bars, restaurants and shopping. Close to lots of tourist sites, the funiculars, metro and Rossio train station. Also direct links to the airport so arrival and departure were easy too.
Location was awesome. Room adequate, but a little dated. Bed super comfortable.
Location excellent, only highlight that the room are little bit old and need a restauration.
front desk and living room are good but bath room was not good. We saw cockroach so many times.
Friendly staff. Check in was easy. Rooms perfect for what we needed. Pool nice size and had a great vew ofer looking the city. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of options to start your day off with. Situated in the best area for transport, shops, sightseeing, restaurants, cocktail bars and only a 35 minute metro ride form the airport. Higly recommended. Felt comfortable and safe. Room has every essential you need: a safe, hairdryer, iron ect.
Hotel stay in Lisbon City center
This was a great place to stay while in the city center! It was clean and the staff was very friendly/ helpful. They assisted us with scheduling transportation to airport. Having a refrigerator and microwave was awesome when staying for a few days. The pull out couch was comfortable and was actually able to be a 2 twins if needed.
Location is everything! The hotel is perfect for exploring with metro & buses right outside the door. Many dining options just across the square. Hotel is very tired in parts, particularly the bathroom & kitchen but didn’t spoil our enjoyment. Roof top bar & pool were amazing
Location Location Location. Great area close great food and both of our excursions picked us up a block away and the drop off was right in front of the hotel. Staff incredible… it’s an older building so don’t expect fancy up to date stylings but the room was perfect for us. We will definitely be back.
Perfect location. The apartment size was very spacious for 2 adults and 2 teens. The pull out coach beds were not as comfortable as the main bed but worked just fine. Very clean. A but dated but just fine. Pool at top was small but very nice view. We always managed to find a Lou he chair in the evening. Friendly easy check in. Location is superb for walking around at night to restaurants and such. Good value for the money.
Portugal is getting overated for the amount of money you spend you can get a 5 star all inclusive in other countries. VIP decor is outdated, facilties outdated, the rooftop pool is smaller then it looks. Cleaning was not great, dish washer didnt wash dishes properly, had puddles of water in the kitchen had to keep ringing for basic things like pool towels and bath mats or bathroom towels. Didnt look like like vacuum. Overall did the job but would never book or recommend to anyone
I recommend booking the Aparthotel on the 9th Floor! Great balcony with a view, small kitchenette , supermarket close by. The rooftop pool and bar area is big, (small cold pool) the view is amazing. Also, go and find Mário the tuk tuk driver nearby and book a tour with him on your first day. He will show you all the local tips and tricks!
Great location Great value
Great location Great rooftop pool with bar Great service Good Room Great value!
Have breakfast out
You can’t beat the location of this property with easy access to metro, parking, train station! The property itself is a little dated compared to other places we’ve stayed but workable!
It was ok
Cleanliness was fine. More like a 3 star. Very outdated
I'd stay here again in a heartbeat! The hotel is a bit dated but clean and the most perfect location for walking or catching the metro. The rooftop pool and bar are perfect on the balmy nights. Great value.
The rooftop pool and bar with a good view of the city was good. Very easy to use public transport -Metro and bus stops outside.
Great central location.
In center of town and close to metro and sites
Staff was wonderful, only concern was the pillow was very hard. No coffee maker in the room Rooftop pool was very beautiful view but cold Clean and took Uber everywhere was cheap and quick. Will stay there again. Maybe. Due to the pillow only concern and the air conditioning doesn’t cool like we see in America.
Very pleasantly surprised. The rooftop pool & bar was lovely, great view. The rooms were spacious & clean. Ours had a kitchenette which looked fine but went unused, it was behind a sliding door so you do not even notice it & looks like normal hotel room. Desk staff were great, very accommodating. Location is perfect for a tourist in Lisbon. thanks
Room with seperate bedroom and kitchen was great. Very quiet. Great roof top view. We were very happy with the hotel and would definitely stay there again. Very simple rooms. Best part was location and roof top view!
Great stay & received early checkin , our second time and would stay again, roof top is fabulous too. Great location
location of the hotel, very central... location of my room on 9th floor, under the terrace.
Extremely dated and poorly maintained.
Fantastic location, beautiful facade, friendly staff. Rooms could do with updating .
Everything was good. Hotel stuff was friendly and helpful. Thank you!
Perfect location with a sun deck and small swimming pool in the middle of Lisbon. The room was small, a bit dated, but the view from the balkony was stunning. There is a problem with a smell in the bathroom. I checked, that the water drain does not include a siphon, so the smell goes from the pipe. Weird :-)
The property is in an excellent location with a great view from the rooftop. The room did not have a coffee maker
Excellent location. Friendly staff.
Great location
Manage your expectations
Location = 10 Room condition = 6 Maid service = 1 Room price for the location = 4 Amenities = 5. (No coffee or tea) Front desk staff attitude = 7 (one person was extremely helpful while another could not be bothered with my questions) This is no way a four-star hotel. A three star will be a stretch. However the location is perfect—metro stop is literally steps away; conveniently located but not too noisy. Tour pick-ups are also near. One just need to set proper expectations—the location is great but the room conditions for the price they charge are way too expensive in my opinion. There was hardly any maid service—-all they did was taking out the trash and made the bed. They did not leave clean towels, no toiletries and did not clean the tub or the floor. Again, as long as you make sure you have realistic expectations you will be fine and not be surprised or disappointed.
Good location, Comfortable Room
Very good location, quiet. The room was spacious, had a working small kitchen complete with amenities.
Having a refrigerator and kitchen was nice. No tea or coffee provided - that was strange. Wonderful rooftop bar and place to hang out.
Area, Nearby stores
Excellent, very convenient in the center of the tourist area .
Best location and view.
Hotel rooms are pretty old but are good enough if you aren’t planning to be indoors much. The location is perfect! And they have a nice terrace with great views. I’d stay here again!
The aparthotel has excellent location, very central in lisbon, however it was diappointing
Very polite and accommodating staff! Amazing area for shopping and tourist attractions
Excellent location - tourist office almost next door, bus stops right outside, train & metro close and a short walk to bustling Chiado & Barrio Alto. Room was large & comfortable. Loved the rooftop bar & pool. Would absolutely stay here again
Great location in Central Lisbon
We were very happy with our choice to stay at the VIP Executive Eden hotel. It has a great location on Rossio Square near to all the tourist sights. The Rooftop terrace and pool is fabulous and has great views over the city. The rooms are basic but clean with comfortable beds. Prices are very reasonable considering the excellent location
The property was near Rossio square. Close to a few good restaurants. Breakfast was very good for a reasonable price. Staff were friendly. Check in and out was easy! Good location for meeting tour groups for excursions. Close to metro stop! Although we didn't use the pool, it was one of the features that attracted us to this property. It would have been nice to have dish towel, dish soap and dish cloth provided.
great rooftop bar and pool area and the staff was very polite and courteous and tried to change my room to one with no carpets but unfortunately all rooms had carpets. Hotel is old and outdated, smelt horrible and there was no AC, had mold in the bathroom, old garbage was left under sink from previous person and carpets were stained and dirty. walking in hallway in the dark to locate our room was an experience like no other and we did not understand why motion lights never went on and I did not feel safe in the dark walking to our room, this is not a 4 star hotel in our opinion and sorry to say we left feeling very disappointed
It was in a very ideal location. Located near the train and metro station, it was easy to make Lisbon a launching area for side trips to Sintra and Fatima as well as getting around the city by metro. They let us check in early after a long trip from the US and were very accomodating. The hotel was a little dated but clean. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.
Great location! But needs a refresh!
Hotel location was Perfect! Great rooftop bar and pool. However the air conditioning in the common areas and the rooms need to be updated!! Our friends had to be moved to 3 different rooms because of No A/C. Never was offered the upgrade I was supposed to of received. The plumbing and faucets were old, broken and needed to be cleaned out and redone. The Buddy backed up and wouldn’t drain correctly. But a perfect location otherwise
Perfect location, lovely hotel with pool.
This hotel is in the perfect spot for a sightseeing visit to the city. Very close to most things including shopping! The small famous cafe serving the custards is directly across the street too. The hotel itself is in need of a little updating but this doesn’t detract from it really at all. It was very clean, well equipped & the staff friendly & helpful.
Excellent location in the heart of Lisbon, walking distance to all main attractions and transportation. Decor is dated and simple, but it served all my basic personal needs. The bed linen was superb, room was very quiet and air conditioning worked well. The roof top pool and patio were an added bonus before going out to dinner.
Excellent location, close to shopping dining areas, excellent transport links, property needs updating but overall excellent stay, staff are friendly and helpful
The property was in an excellent location but very dated. The hallways and rooms smelled musty, like very old carpeting, and the rooms looked and smelled like they were last updated in the 70's.
It's in a central location; the rooftop pool and bar. But for the price I find the property not renovated. It has carpeting everywhere except for the lobby.
Our air conditioning did not work the first night and they were not able to compensate us in anyway for that besides offering a pizza. we asked if they could add a couple drinks to that and they said no. Very unaccommodating and not sympathetic to the fact that we did not have air for one full day!
Not so cool
Great location. Our room was dated and in need of a refresh. The air conditioning did not circulate cold air and had difficulty cooling the room. We asked for another room with better AC, the room the front desk attempted to give us was worse than the one we were in - the AC didn't work at all - not even a fan.
Some Pros and Cons
Pros: central location for cafe/restaurants and easy walk or metro to site seeing. Nice pool area for Lisbon and Terrace roof bar! Good communication with staff, they really went out of their way to get us into a taxi (5 people with luggage!) When I mixed up train time! Rooms clean and 1 bedroom decent room space even if dated. Breakfast was great in terms of offerings. Cons: heat wave in Lisbon left hotel with little air conditioning! So nights a bit uncomfortable. Beds are just too firm for me! It would be factor why I might not choose again. J
Not living up to a standard
This hotel was supposedly a 4 star propertywhich is very questionable. There were a couple positives such as the windows that open, the view of the city and the shower were good. The room was not clean upon entry. I asked the maid for cleaning stuff and washed all surfaces and the windows. The cushioned chair was ripped, the mattress for the pull out had holes in it and the beadspread has a number of cigarette burns. The stain and finish had worn off all of the wood in the room and the carpet was absolutely disgusting and mismatched. We stayed for 4 nights and had the cleaners come in 1 day. They did not vacuum and took the used pool towels that were on the floor for replacement and hung them on the hook. One of the reasons we were attracted to this place was the pool but it was murky and smelled sulphery. I have never written a bad review for a hotel before and have never cleaned a hotel room before staying in it (i am in my 50’s and have traveled a bunch). I have stayed in 2.5 star places that were far better than the VIP executive Eden hotel. There are so many hotels in beautiful older buildings in Lisbon that there is no reason the stay in this one. My advice would be to seek something else and skip over this option.
Rooms are dated but rest of property is nice and you can’t beat the location.
Very nice place to stay
Very nice place to stay. Maid was always available to clean the rooms. Breakfast was spectacular. Hop-on hop-off bus was right out front and easy-to-use. Great location. There was a supermarket nearby and the room had a kitchen in it. I would suggest the Lisbon Portugal Hop On Hop off not the regular one. They seem to have a lot more buses.
Great location for using public transportation and entertainment. Lots of restaurants and good upscale shops. Rooftop bar and pool with great view of the city. Friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay again.
Hotel in great location, rooftop terrace and small pool was welcome after busy day sightseeing. Appreciated the kitchenette for making breakfast, picnics etc.
Great location. Great value. Everyone sooo nice! Terrace… amazing!! Absolutely loved it!!!
Tudo muito bom. Obrigado.
Very Good.
Great hotel. Got to check on early. Great location and good staff. Peaceful. Will stay here again.
Very friendly staff, room very clean and location super convenient. Old furniture, hotel could use a bit of an upgrade. Water stain on ceiling. I was on top floor (9th) with an excellent view from veranda --room somewhat noisy from people moving chairs upstairs in roofbar, and walls noise.
Art Deco design was cool. I didn't use the mini kitchen, but it was well equipped and adequate. You can't beat the location. It's down town in the middle of everything. I'll make this my go to hotel every time in Lisbon.
Great location and friendly staff. Terrace bar has a fabulous view and the staff very well mannered

Great location
