Pros: The property was beautiful but does need some upgrades. It was in a very private secluded area perfect for a romantic getaway or if you just want to be left alone. The pool was nice & clean & it felt safe staying here. The inside of the suite was roomy & generally well kept aside from a few issues. Cons: Not 20 hours before I arrived I was told my room was double booked & Expedia was blamed. If your running a business you should be consistently keeping track of your bookings so that if issues do arise they can be rectified immediately. I was offered a room with a better view so I was pleased in the end but to find out the last minute sent me into complete panic mode as I was already on my way to the destination & had to try communicate with the property owner in-between my layovers - The property owner wasn't all too friendly. Anytime I asked him for assistance he seemed very annoyed & like it was a bother to him to have to help with anything & could be a bit condescending at times. I stayed longer than 5 days so I should have had a cleaner come to my room to clean & no one showed up & my room was never cleaned. I had to take out the garbage myself as they were overflowing. Nothing was stocked in the room & when I told the owner I was out of toilet paper & garbage bags he was at the property. He told me he was on his way out & I had to wait for 2 hours until he got back instead of grabbing it before he left & basically told me to go get it myself if I cant wait.
What's not to love? Lot's of space great views, air conditioning and the pool was epic! Do it! You won't be disappointed! 💘
Very nice outdoor deck overlooking the swimming pool. Beautiful view of Falmouth Bay . Very quiet premises.. Very good kitchen setup to make meals...
DO NOT stay here! Pictures say it all!!
Looks nothing like the pictures, had to leave the property and book elsewhere as it was virtually derelict and abandoned. Taxi drivers refused to drive there because of the road condition. Moved to another property, refused a refund by the owner. He was rude and abupt. I would NOT RECOMMEND booking here.
Nice guy . Beautiful place
Modern stylish accommodation with wonderful views
The location above Falmouth harbour is terrific, and it is clear that the owner has tried to create a special little oasis in an area that has limited quality accommodation. And it works. Our room was large, spotlessly clean and with a very comfy bed and a highly original shower room, with pebbles for floor and walls ! TV have Netflix ( but it was playing up when we were there) and the kitchen has all the appliances you need ( but very little in way of cutlery and crockery. Owner says people have been stealing them!). The outside patio has wonderful views and a great hammock. Improvements - more and better signage - finding it is hard, and the last part of the road has potholes the size of India - better lighting in the rooms, hand towels in bathroom and more kitchen gear
The view is lovely and it is close to all of the restaurants!
I would not recommend. Arrived at the property after a long day of connecting flights to the premises not being presentable. The Villa was not cleaned. After extended communication with the host he became very defensive and wasn’t accommodating at all. Aside from the uncleanliness the view of the location was breathtaking.
Disappointing, dirty, and best avoided.
This property could be amazing, but we were so disappointed. The whole place was grubby, we found multiple cockroaches, and it was only cleaned once during the week stay (not three times as promised). No soap, shower gel etc. We only got pool/beach towels on the 4th day (after the only clean). The furniture was tatty, the kitchen was dirty and the lock on the main door was so weak that we didn’t feel safe leaving things in the property. (There was a safe, but it wasn’t connected to anything, so you could just lift it up and take it away!) The pool also looked grimy, and the loungers around it were all mouldy. Views great. Located down a very bumpy unsealed road. A 30 min walk into town for dinner - or a short drive.
Views were excellent. Accommodations were comfortable. Pictures on Expedia were a bit misleading .Not all of the Villas had the Hanging Basket Hammocks as depicted.
Could use some upkeep maintenance and a good cleaning
The view is awesome, you can’t beat it. However, the place is poorly maintained. Some examples, the deck furniture was broken, the front door looked like it had been broken into. The bed frame was falling apart although the mattresses were very comfortable. The sunshades and umbrellas around the pool were all torn. The owner was not around. There was no coffee maker upon our arrival as it had been broken, but the fellow looking after the place did find us one. The lighting at night was extremely poor. The fans over the stove did not work, nor the ceiling fan. This could me a five star place with a little investment of time and money. The cleaner was excellent!!
Very relaxing environment, with a beautiful scenery. Rooms were well equipped and i was able to feel right at home.
I liked the location, and the price for such a nice villa was great.
Appliances are old and outdated and needs renovation. Broken latch on door leading to deck. Holes in the drywall in the bedroom. Large shower but no shower curtain so water gets outside. Slanted floor so when it rained water came in under the front door. Would not recommend this for future visitors.
Beautiful place. Modern, great view, awesome porch.
Great value & very comfortable beds! Amazing views of bay.
Already planning our next trip to stay here
Great value for money, the best we could find on the island, having stayed in 5 different places all across the island. The space is massive, huge bedroom, the largest shower I’ve been in, a super modern and comfortable living room and a massive balcony. Such a shame we only stayed one night, we will be back but next time for several weeks.
The secluded location offered a peaceful and tranquil environment away from the busy areas. However the room had some minor issues (air condition took long to cool rooms, irritating smoke alarm kept beeping for low battery through the night)
Great apartment, great location and great host
The apartment is very spacious and well equipped with a stunning view on the bay: we loved being there. Our host (Michael) was really helpful, easy to deal with, always available and nice. The location is ideal to explore the English harbour area, Shirley heights, Nelson's dockyard, local beaches like Pigeon beach and also get without too much driving to other places like the Devil's bridge, half moon beach, St John, etc... Things to note is that the access road is being surfaced meaning that right now it is raw soil and rocks; a normal car can get there however slowly and carefully. It will be fine in a few weeks when the work is completed. We had a great time there and would stay there again if we visit Antigua in the future.
outstanding hospitality and bungalow number five has sweeping views
Apartment was excellent and amazing view of Falmouth Harbour.
February couple’s Trip
Tin roof at this location is hard to sleep if it’s raining outside; recommend confirming breakfast before arrival (Property manager tried to say it wasn’t included until proven.) Other than that, great deal for the price. More space than is apparent in the photos with an incredible deck/view!
Would recommend to those that want to get away
Great place in a quiet, secluded location. A bit of a walk from Falmouth but you wouldn't get the view if it was any closer. The manager was also very accommodating.
Our cottage had a modern design, with a terrific panoramic view of the harbour. The bathrooms were very stylish. The cottage was well cleaned each day. The property manager Michael was very helpful and attentive, bringing fresh breakfast each day. The cable TV was out in the area, so he got us an Amazon Firestick to be able to watch Netflix etc. He also very kindly took us to the airport at 4am when our pre-arranged taxi failed to show up. The pool area was also nice. However, the furniture around the pool needs to be replaced as it is broken.
It was a great experience and the whole property was amazing. Wish we could've stayed longer but we will definitely be back!
Relaxing stay
Michael was very welcoming. He picked me up from my previous location, and took me to the airport the morning of check-out.
Large, clean cottage overlooking mountains and ocean. In a secluded area so it was nice and peaceful. Definitely would stay there again!!
Great views, friendly owner, good times
The Vine Cottages were a nice place to rest our bones after a day of travelling. A bit out of the way, but great views of Falmouth Harbor. More of a guesthouse feel, so if you're looking for hotel style accommodations, move on. Good food in the area, but be prepared for a small hike or to take one of the taxis, the owner will set you up with a good taxi. Nice pool and places to lay out. Make sure to get supplies, including water and lots of it before you get there...no 'services' at this places and its a walk to get anywhere to buy some. Would recommend they get mosquito nets for the beds, and provide bottle water and small snacks for purchase. Overall a great little place to enjoy Falmouth and English Harbor.
4 night stay
Bungalow was spacious and well furnished, though there are areas in need of tlc, ie broken drawer fronts in kitchen. Gardens were unkempt and didn't make the pool area inviting. Great views from the balcony but need to be wary of the mosquitos!! Need a car as nothing is in easy walking distance. Lots of steps so need to be mobile/agile.
Fantastic stay
We stayed for two nights at this place and were not disappointed. A great view and terrace which we had a home cooked dinner on, plenty of appliances to cook and keep your beer s cold. Swimming pool was nice and was empty for our stay to have some private time in it. Bed was super comfy and the air con kept the room cool throughout. Stayed a few places in Antigua and this's was the best value for money out there, highly recommend
Fantastic location with amazing view
Cottages are recently built hence clean , functional. The host - JJ - is very kind , helpful and not intrusive at all. The terrace and view make it a 5 star. Road to access a bit on the rough side (yet you do not need a 4WD) but it wouldn't be such a good deal! I would highly recommend
A winner above English and Falmouth harbours!
I stayed at Cine Cottages for two nights on a recent business trip. It was beautifully decorated and spotless clean with all of the amenities of home. A beautiful deck offered great views and spectacular sunsets. Very comfortable and quiet. Highly recommended!
Remoter location, spectacular views
Stayed at this hotel for four nights. It isituated up on the hill so it has amazing views of English Harbor. Approach road is dirt, therefore muddy when it rains which it does frequently. The owner/manager John lives on site and was pretty willing to accommodate us in any way he could, such as giving suggestions for restaurants or beaches. The one down thing was that the clerk at the auto rental shop called him for directions and it sounded like he refused to give her directions but said to use Google maps. Google maps did work to get us there actually without any problem So in the end it was OK. The shower facility in unit number 5 was great and the bed was very comfortable. The lighting of the unit was very minimal, so after sunset really couldn’t do much in the unit as far as read or play games. The air conditioning did keep the place Cool although when we first checked in it did take a few hours to bring the temperature of the rooms down to a comfortable level. There’s a nice pool although we were so busy with other activities never had a chance to use it. There is also snack bar where breakfast is offered, but again we did not use it. At least one of the days we were there the cook did not show up for work. There are some nice restaurants In the neighborhood, but nothing is actually within walking distance of this resort due to the remoter location. Therefore, a rental car is pretty much required if you want to stay at this location and enjoy the area fully.
Excellent Customer Service & Breathtaking View
It was such a pleasure staying at Vine Cottages in December 2017. The accommodations are modern and well-maintained. The owner and staff are quite delightful! Every person I encountered during my stay was friendly, courteous and professional. JJ, the owner, is AMAZING! Upon arrival, he greeted me personally and provided me with a tour of my cottage. In addition, he shared details regarding the amenities (pool and breakfast) and offered to assist me with unloading my vehicle. And this was on Day 1! Reflecting on it now, it’s apparent that customer service excellence is a core value that permeates the Vine Cottages staff. The only thing that may rival the owner and staff is the breathtaking view of Falmouth Harbor. The gorgeous sunset rendered me speechless. I’m grateful to JJ, for allowing me to brag about it via a text message. In conclusion, I highly recommend Vine Cottage. You will not be disappointed!
5 Days in Vine cottages
Vine cottages was delightful. The views over Falmouth Harbour are beautiful. The rooms are very comfortable clean and nicely furnished and the photos are accurate. The staff are very helpful. The road to the cottages is bumpy and you may want to a jeep style rather than a car, but that is true of a lot of Antigua. Wifi is excellent
Smart and modern hidden gem
A little hard to find but once there the place was great.. Smart modern and spacious, full of home comforts and stunning views. Shared pooland close drive to a beach The host was accommodating and friendly Highly recommended for a peaceful retreat.
Great Views and Value For Money
The pictures are correct with each cottage having stunning views of English Harbour. The Cottages are big, mordern and give you a sense you are home. The sunsets are just breathtaking. The location is a bit hard to find and need a car as they are I would say remote and preferably an SUV/Jeep as the access roads are just horrible. I was there on business and the internet access was mediocre at best. The owner did tell me to try accessing from the patio and it seemed to work that evening but then I was been eaten by mosquitoes. Yes there are lots of mosquitoes so spray and citronella are important to have. Overall for the rate charged, the size of the Cottages, the privacy, the stunning views I will go back on my next trip.
Hidden gem
My husband and I loved our stay at the vines cottages. Our villa was in pristine condition and the views were gorgeous. Jj was extremely helpful and breakfast was excellent. We cannot wait to come back again.
Excellent!!!!
Wonderful!! Staff was super nice and helpful... will definitely stay here again! Location seemed close to town and beach but will need a rental car or taxi.. area very quiet and relaxing...
Feeling home a way from home.
It's a magic place to spend days a way from the city style. Awesome in all aspects. I truly recommend this place.
Like a Paradise!
Awesome experience , owner was very nice, the cleaning in perfect, comfortable bed and fluffy pillows, bathroom like a five stars suites. We've had a wonderful time there and we wish we could stay a while longer.
Vine Cottages
Brand new accommodation, very high quality, good wifi, kitchen facilities, plenty of room and the view is great!
I definitely will come visit again
BEAUTIFUL experience love the view the location very private!!!
Amazing Value For Money
This place was amazing overall...excellent cottages and appliances, amenities in abundance, great decor, comfortable furniture, amazing view. Words cannot express how happy we were with this stay. And the cottages are very spacious and somewhat away from each other, so very private
exoectacular
Very good
New property with great view and spacious
Newly opened so a lot of things were missing like a sign, which in the beginning was very difficult to locate. The room itself were very big and everything was new though the walls are thin and can hear people next to you. But it was a great value for the money and fairly close to the harbour where the restaurants and bars are. Would definitely recommend a car.
Elegan and modern with million dollar view
We had fantastic stay in this serene and zen apartment... photos are not doing the justice. Sliding patio doors will open inside apartment out to the million dollar view!
Excellent
