Beautiful hotel, friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Easy walk to the sights!
It’s a wonderful space!
Great hotel. Very clean. Great location and staff super helpful and friendly
Very pleasant staff . Clean spacious rooms
Good location and room was clean and parking was great
Wonderful place near city center. Great room, terrific staff.
Very friendly staff , great location, walkable to everything, very clean, that’s the place to stay in Salzburg .. I will be back !!
Nice hotel. Easy walking distance to old town and shopping district. Breakfast was a bit sparse.
Close to the action.
Great spot near the river. Near the shopping district.
We had a really good experience. The staff is really kind and the hotel was clean and in perfect conditions. Good location
Very nice facility. Nice continental breakfast. Good coffee Fresh rolls and croissant and ripe fruit
Outside the old town but not far away and a lovely walk along the river. The staff were very friendly and the room was spacious and clean. The continental breakfast was a bit meagre
My room was very clean and comfortable. When I went to dinner it was dark outside, but I felt safe walking from the hotel and through the neighborhood. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
.
A wonderful find in a superb location and excellent room, clean with good shower. Walkable from train station and close to gardens, river walk, shopping and food. Kind and helpful service a big plus. Danke!
Enjoyed our stay in Salzburg despite record-breaking rain. (Hotel had large umbrellas available for guest use.) Rooms are clean, modern, ample hot water, supplied shampoo, shower gel, and lotion (no conditioner). Please do pay attention to details when booking so as to not misunderstand policies-- desk is not attended 24 hours so that may limit your check-in options, but was not problem for us.
All we expected.
Andy was great. Loved the roomy room and shower. Breakfast was just pastry’s and coffee. A little more variety would have been nice.
Great property. Love the interior design.
Very good location.
Nice, cozy hotel, parking available
Great stay. Unique hotel close to the river and lots of attractions. Staff very friendly. Continental breakfast was very very sparse but other than that, it was great.
Ok Stay
4 star no way bed was in a slope roof had to struggle to get in bed no kettle or fridge staff were very pleasant
A wonderful hideaway hotel with amazing staff! We would return any time!
Boutique Adults Only Hotel ideally located within walking distance of the old town. Super friendly and helpful reception. Nicely decorated and furnished throughout. The room we had - #011 - on the groundfloor was ideal, massive and very quiet. Great continental breakfast is also served. No hesitation in recommending this hotel.

The given attitude by the hotel make us clients feel as a bother. There is air conditioning in the room but there is no remote control
Very pleasant staff. Parking on-site was easy to use and very convenient. Walked to a lovely park/garden and across the bridge to a great restaurant. The breakfast buffet could have been better, but it was free. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you're staying in Salzburg.
Great Except! WiFi is terrible! In this day and age there is no excuse for a property to not have the equipment to provide good WiFi to all it guests all the time. If you watch tv, they are WiFi, which means they don’t work.
Lovely looking building in a great location. Not far to walk to reach the river and then you have a lovely walk along the river to the old town. We went in December, it had recently snowed and so the river and all the buildings looked fabulous at night all twinkling with lights. Our room - room 4 was great, very spacious. The receptionist when we arrived was amazing so friendly and accommodating. Downside was not being able to make or have tea / coffee in the room. Also Expedia says 'free bottled water' but it turns out you only get one on arrival and then are expected to pay that was not clearly stated so be careful. Another receptionist was very helpful in booking our concern tickets and explaining how to get there. I would stay again.
Very good spot , walking distance to old town
Average hotel experience.
This is a wonderful find!
Loved our stay and highly recommend Villa Carlton!
Loved our stay at Villa Carlton! Our room was very comfortable and the hotel is charming. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is convenient to the train station and within walkable distance of the castle and other points of interest.
Lovely hotel premium double
The hotel is ideally located 10 mins from the old town ,walking distance set in a quiet place along the river, the room was lovely and with a balcony to sit on ,the hotel provided a kettle ,sadly no bar or 24hr reception ,a complimentarty breakfast of hot drinks and croissants also toast ,drinks fruit is provided but not a hot breakfast, which is okay and was nice of the hotel as complimentary ,the shower and room facilities were spotless and the shower was luxurious hot and spacious ,the manager was always helpful and staff pleasant ,you are given instructions to gain entry after 8pm around the back of the hotel ,which we found easy ,overall a lovely stay and we will stay again when we return to Salzburg and the price was really reasonable too, overall first class in a lovely quiet setting
We were delayed by a late train but the receptionist stayed late to get us into our rooms before she left for the evening. We enjoyed the extra space in the rooms we rented. I would have liked a better breakfast than just croissants and apples. A variety of pastries would have been nice and maybe a juice.
Nice boutique hotel. Rooms were comfortable and ample space.
This hotel is just ok. Only location is good. Breakfast is very simple, you can say no breakfast.
This location is so great. Walkable to hbf or alstadt stations for easy access. Walkable to Old Town/Alstadt and so many sights in Salzburg. The neighborhood around is quiet and feels safe even at night. The rooms are spacious and clean. The lobby is cozy and actually somewhere you'd want to hang out (we did). The breakfast is minimal but the coffee is good and the croissants are super flaky with homemade preserves. The staff was incredible. They were helpful in every interaction; friendly and courteous and all seemed to enjoy what they did. Made our stay so pleasant. No kids is always a bonus but everything else about this property is what should draw you in.
Excellent staff, great location, clean and spacious rooms, wonderful lounge, and breakfast included (local marmalade)

Avoid at all costs. Stay somewhere else.
Terrible check in. The comfort room has an extremely noisy a/c. When I mentioned my concern, the woman at check in turned sour. She claimed all the a/c’s in every room were exactly the same. I asked to see another room (a standard room), and of course the a/c was extremely quiet. Her dishonesty and rudeness are unacceptable. The other woman at morning shift is unfriendly and everything you request such as ice or coffee is a huge inconvenience to her day. Unbelievable, this staff clearly needs a course in customer service. It is so difficult for these women to smile, greet you kindly and treat you by like a valued client. Very tiring to constantly be exposed to their nastiness. Breakfast was awful, the same every morning - rotten apples, unripe pears, stale toast, didn’t try the store bought croissants. This is not a 3 star hotel, barely 1 star - and the hallway smells like cigarettes, they try to camouflage with scented candles, not good. Stay at your own risk!!! They finally agreed to charge us the standard room rate - unbelievable since we stayed in a standard room, since they refused to have the a/c serviced in the more expensive room. So many other really lovely hotels in the area.
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is well decorated and very clean. I will go back!
Beautiful hotel!
Very good
Stately, 3-story property centrally located between Hbf & historic Salzburg. Very large, clean & well-maintained room with a balcony as a plus. The only downside was a mix-up of our reservation and room rate, which was resolved amicably with hotel staff. Great stay!
Walkable to Mirabell and Old Town, quiet, clean and attentive staff.
The staff was very helpful. Even stayed up past closing the main doors to let me in after a late concert 🎶
overall the property was superb. The desk staff were efficient, friendly and knowledgable. The hotel location was excellent and the rooms were generous and well appointed. The only negative was the provided breakfast. If the hotel is worried about items going bad then they could offer cereals and yogurts...
Wonderful stay. Great staff, great location near the main Salzburg old town and train, easy walk to both. In a nice quiet and clean area. Charming place. I would recommend to all my friends.
This beautiful hotel is only a minute's walk from the river Salzach with its stunning view of the castle and old town. On site car park is a big bonus in a busy city. Boutique style decor is appealing but low staffing levels (help yourself to breakfast, front door closes at 9pm) gave it an odd atmosphere. Frustratingly, holding payment was taken from my bank account on arrival and again on departure. Payment still pending almost two weeks later so my balance is £300 lower than it should be! Will need to contact bank.
Staff is helpful and the room is clean and nice.
Great place to stay.
we had a very quiet room, on the ground floor. Lots of room and a big bathroom. Good closet space. Definitely would come again. Coffee and rolls and some fruit available for breakfast. A small boutique hotel - adults only which we liked. Close to the train station - not so much from the airport.
We loved it…it was amusing somehow. Great coffee, amazing room…5 minutes to Old Town and the Palace gardens. I’m pretty sure they upgraded us to a larger room. We will be back for sure! The building is historic and beautiful.
Comfortable hotel
Comfortable bed, decent shower, clean. Lovely lounge to relax in. Slightly out of centre but easily walkable. Friendly staff.
Really great stay. The hotel and staff were excellent. The location was very good for walk from the main train station and also for the centre of Salzburg. The rover is only a stones throw away.
My mom who was a guest at this hotel liked her stay a lot. Friendly staff, especially Andrea. Spacious rooms, great location. The only thing that she felt displeased about was that during her late check in, going to the side of the building was pitch dark and the cobble stone pavement made it difficult for her to navigate. Suggestion to the hotel to set up an automatic light for the people who check in off hours. Evrything else was very nice. Its very close to everything and next to the river.
The room & hotel was most attractively decorated. Very comfortable room. Loved the inside seating area but most particularly loved the outdoor, most welcoming seating area. Staff were super friendly & helpful Most conveniently located 10 minutes walk to train;!10 minutes to major attractions Highly recommend
The hotel is so clean and staff are so friendly. I love how close everything is. I didn’t even need bus pass because everything is so close. If I wanted to drop anything off at the hotel before going to my next distinction, I can.
It was clean, updated and very spacious!
Excellent hotel and location.
Wow! After travelling around for a week what a treat to stay in the very spacious well appointed room. Clean and comfortable and a fantastic location a block from the river and 6min walk from the centre of town
The property is in a very good location, within walking distance of the palace grounds, the train station, and old town. The staff was really excellent and very attentive
Awesome staff and location in Salzburg!
All good
It was great. Just one night here but it was clean, comfortable and in a good location. Staff were lovely.
Dry nice staff
Convenient and quiet location and lots to see in walking distance Plenty of restaurants and the Christmas market is a highlight
Nice rooms, very friendly staff. Decent breakfast.
Unfortunetly we have got only one night to stay in Villa Carlton But it was enough for us to bring this hotel at the top of our list for next visit.
Great location. Any extras such as breakfast is very expensive including parking.
It was a wonderful place to stay. The checkin was easy and the distance to everything was simple. The room was very comfortable.
Beautiful hotel. The lady manager of the hotel took our stay at this property to another level all together. Thnx
Peculiarly unique in it's Self conscious attempt at proselytizing and almost self conscious efficacy
Mauritz at the front desk spoke flawless English! He was able to help us with all our travel questions about Munich. He is amazing!!!
Very nice hotel, more like a boutique hotel. Location is excellent. Staff super friendly.
This is a friendly family run hotel within easy walking distance to the centre of town. Staff are really helpful and go out of their way to help. Rooms are clean and the hotel is well maintained, and there are lots of good restaurants nearby.
Great location with modern design.
No refrigerator inside the room. You can’t cooler the water and drink.
Well kept property located walking distance from all major attractions
The hotel was very nice. We were able to store our bags and explore the city. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was very large for European standards. I would have liked to stay longer! I would definitely recommend.
My stay was for four nights, breakfast (very nice) included. The bedroom was clean and comfortable and the staff more than helpful. My only criticism is the access to coffee / drinks. No facility in the room, no mini bar, no coffee shop or machine only a vending machine with cold drinks.
Perfect location, close to train station, easy walking distance to plaza, Cathedral, Fortress, restaurants, Mirabell Garden. Highly recommend the Saulsburg card. Good value and allows you to ride the local transportation for free. Andy at the front desk was exceptional- hospitable, congenial, speaks English, and was so helpful. By far it was the nicest hotel room during our trip, very spacious, heated towel racks, large sitting room. Very nice decor.
Elegant hotel with especial atmosphere just 1 minute walk from the Mirabell palace and garden
Good stay, would stay again
We liked this hotel. Fairly comfortable bed, pretty quiet (especially if there isn't anyone staying in the rooms right next to yours), friendly staff who all spoke good English (we're thankful for this as our German is minimal). We received two additional pillows upon request. Good shower pressure. Really liked that the toiletries were in large bottles, not using too much single-use plastic. Be aware that the front desk is not staffed 24 hours/day, and if you return to the hotel after hours you'll have to let yourself in the back door. Good location in that it's within a 20 minute walk of the old town as well as easy walking distance from Mirabellplaz, the train station and a beer garden. No down or feathers in the bedding, so it's great for those of us with allergies.
I had booked the hotel and Expedia clearly said: "free cancellation until September 9 at 11:59 AM W. Europe Standard time". However, I called 4 hours before that, I talked to Expedia, they talked to Villa Carlton and they REFUSED to cancel it. As a result we had to pay for a hotel we never saw... Poor customer service from both of them. Last time using Expedia... I used to give them thousands of dollars every year but not anymore
Loved it!
Loved the hotel! We will visit again and hope we can, in fact, secure this same room (307). (One maintenance item: the towel/robe/coat hook just inside the bathroom door, room 307, was loose and probably needs to be refastened.)
The staff was exceptional. The hotel was clean and located perfectly. We truly enjoyed our stay.
立地が良い
立地が便利。 町の中心から少し離れているので、駐車場所に困らない。ホテルの前の道路が路駐できる。 川沿いを歩いて街に行く散歩コースは雰囲気満点。
Great Hotel in perfect Location with super friendly staff.
Hotel was located in a excellent location. Walking distance to area attractions & bus terminal. Mirabellplatz gardens are 2 mins. Away which is lovely to walk through. Only thing missing is there is no coffee in room. You can purchase at front desk. Also available with breakfast. Staff in dinning room & front desk were excellent! Thank you.
Checked baggage goes in an unsecured/unlocked closet - you can hear everything through your doors - housekeeping in halls vacuuming before 8am
I left a bag of just purchased luxury items with the front desk because our room was not ready 20 min prior to check in and we had somewhere to be. I hated to leave my things, but had no choice. The woman at the front desk assured me my things would’ve safe and even kept them behind the desk with her. I came back later and all 5 of the boxes containing luxury items in the bag were opened and rifled through and a Prada wallet was STOLEN. The woman at the front desk said it was a misunderstanding and after an hour managed to get it back. She said housekeeping thought it was left behind and that they could take it home. The story does not make sense as my shopping bag was only there for three hours, they would know that since their staff is limited at this small hotel. I was shaking and felt violated. There was no where else we could stay last minute in our price range. This is unacceptable behavior. BEWARE!
Hotel is fine as a base
Hotel was fine, good location for Walking into Salzburg and offers parking which we needed for going further afield. The rooms are clean and spacious. We had breakfast one of the days, but actually we thought this was a rip off, very few options and we got there at 9am (it runs until 10.30), so we didn’t go again. Hotel is fine as a base, but doesn’t have a bar or offer many services.
Amazing boutique Hotel near river and walking dis
Amazing accommodation for Salzburg only one block from the river and walking distance to everything one wants to see in the city. We only stayed one night but will stay at the Villa Carlton anytime we are in town. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for any first timers to the city.
A lovely little hotel. Quirky. Central to the old town. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only criticism that I have is that there wasn’t any tea / coffee making facilities in the room or a fridge.
Clean room, Small toilet
Hotel is in good condition, and locate close to the Mirabell Palace and the river. However, the toilet is really toooo small. there is no place to put toiletries, and any small mistake something will just fall into the toilet bowl, so advisable to close the bowl cover at all time. Reception is very helpful and friendly.
Could not locate an iron, room was otherwise comfortable
Really nice classic hotel. Close walk to old city attractions
The property itself & the decor are charming. However, the cleanliness could be improved; as spider web could be seen at the edge of walls near the bed. An undesired aspect for the hotel to take note is that when "Do not disturb" sign is put up, the room was still entered by staff and yet with just minimal things done....
Convenient location, easy walk to downtown area, friendly staff. They recommended the Salzburg Card Which was great and gave you free admission to most sites.

Amazing stay in the heart of Salzburg. Close to all main attractions and lovely staff! Would recommend to all
