Great central location Tasteful interior Spa is not functioning, but it was not mentioned on the hotel’s site Bed was comfortable, but the room is small and has no place for suitcases We got one bottle of shampoo and needed to ask for one more on the third day of our stay, the maid never completed the stock No hair dryer in the room Last night the AC stopped and we were provided with electrical heater, witch was good enough The breakfast was good and very well served Definitely would stay again in the future
Outstanding breakfast, kind and accommodating staff, great & walkable location. Could use some updates on the inside but great experience.
Staff were very helpful and attentive. Location is very close to shops and restaurants. Clean and quiet with a lovely terrace to relax in.
The room felt very unclean. The curtains etc. were very dusty. The hallways of this hotel are painted black giving it a sinister look. Everything felt very old and dirty. There was no full-length mirror in the room. I felt really sad and depressed every time I stepped inside the room. I have gotten better deals on hotels for the same money. The view outside my window was also bad with the next-door building being completely under construction. There is no woman on the staff which made me feel slightly uncomfortable at nights as a single woman traveler. On a side not, Jeff was really nice and a great staff person.
not worth it
our room was so dirty that we had to check it out. they gave us half our money back which is still unfortunate
Relaxing boutique hotel in center of city. Staff was great and took good care of us. Easy walk to great restaurants and shopping. Short taxis to Old Jerusalem and Market. Definitely stay here again.
A Wonderful boutique hotel in Jerusalem
Great service (people are very nice), clean, enjoyed breakfasts, complimentary tea/wine/snacks all day long, conveniently located near the old town and the center of Jerusalem…
Loved it
Great hotel with friendly staff and breakfast was outstanding
Beauty and the beast
The place is a beautiful well designed hotel It feels like a boutique, Italian hotel, loved it It was clean and well taken care of But the service is a whole different situation Very cold and unfriendly, They gave me the feeling like they are doing me a favor
While it’s small it’s in an amazing location and has great rooms.
Breakfast was to die for. Rooms are tiny.
Very cosy and unique environment.
The Villa Brown Jerusalem is a fantastic boutique hotel centrally located in the city. The staff, especially Jeff at the front desk, were knowledgeable and helpful. Our room was very nice and included a balcony and spacious bathroom. We will return to this hotel.
Great location
Hotel was in a great location, we booked a garden room with a terrace which was a higher priced room but unfortunately it was very small and wasn’t in the best condition. The pictures look great but it’s a little shabby. The parking is about a 10 minute walk up the road which is secure. The balcony outside our room was lovely, coffee in the room was great, short walk into the city and also to the Old City. The rooftop spa and loungers isn’t necessarily as advertised, you have to go to the rooftop and fill the jacuzzi bath tub up if you want to use it.
Bad cleaning staff
Cleaning staff was not good. Forgot to bring water. Towels, shampoo, every day another thing they forgot
Staff was great, but the facility had some issues. The parking and ease of getting to and from the hotel is pretty much nonexistent.
The location is good but hotel is disappointing relative to pictures. Rooms are small and outdated with old carpeting and little lighting. There is no room service, nothing in the mini fridge, and very few staff.
Authentic and special! Not for small children, but great for a romantic stay or get-together quth friends. Very unique decorations and very clean room.
Not clean
The rooms are dated and not really clean. People claim this is a boutique hotel, but nothing feels boutique. Service is just OK, all the carpets look dirty. The only positive thing about this place it's the location.
Lovely staff and breakfast
This small hotel was like an oasis in the city. From the lovely breakfast on the patio in the mornings to the quiet rooms, we enjoyed every moment. All convenient located to lots of restaurants and the sights, especially the old city.
Everything about this property was beautiful!
My only complaint was that the person at the desk (who was very nice) was unable to give us the correct information for antigen testing. Your food is very good there and I wish you served dinner.
The people there are so nice. The first night I stayed there, it was a holiday and everything was closed. The person who worked that night was so kind to find a place for us to eat, call a taxi and make sure the taxi picked us up when we were done. Also made sure we got back safely. The day we were leaving Solomon let us keep our room until we got back from our tour, then when we arrived he said you can use the room until you have to leave to Tel-Aviv. And also found us a taxi to take us to Tel-Aviv and then to Jaffa and then pick us back up and take us to the airport at night. He went above and beyond! I would recommend this hotel! Truly the staff is amazing and the next time I go to Jerusalem I will plan to stay here again.
The staff and breakfast were the highlights of the stat at Villa Brown. The rooms were beautiful and the bathrooms were clean, updated and great shower! The staff could not have been more accommodating, caring and helpful. We were in Jerusalem during a real cold spell, in the 30's -40's and the only problem was that the heat in a couple of our rooms did not work. They offered to move us and we relocated to rooms that had heat. Other than that, great stay and amazing breakfast. Will definitely stay here again.
The restaurant staff were amazing! The food was excellent.
Customer service is excellent
Onvriendelijk en slechte service
All fine if you don’t come with your own car
Everything was fine expect the parking. The parking is not far but expensive for the night and the hotel doesn’t participate the expense.
A very enjoyable stay in an exceptional villa
The villa is a wonderful building that is thoroughly modernized. From arrival to departure the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was served with warm courtesy and was generous but was quite middle east in its offerings. The only drawbacks were the offsite parking that forced us to cross several busy intersections with our suitcases and a somewhat small bathroom.
Poor tec
Great
ad experience at weekend
Room was tiny. There was a broken mirror in the bathroom; television was put at the left side of the bed, so if you want to see TV, you need to look left- unreasonable. We ordered a massage- it cost 600 NIS for 2 persons, which is quite expensive but the service was very poor and unprofessional. There is practically nothing available at the hotel besides a 40 SQM terrace and a small jacuzzi. Breakfast was nice, but bread was served cold and black coffee also served cold, so I could not even drink it. Overall- bad experience, very poor value for money.
I have had absolutely amazing experience, Hotel manager Yehuda and staff were very welcoming and helpful with all our queries. They greet us with the welcome drink and we were able to check in despite arriving very early in the hotel. Breakfast was very good, so many different varieties of the quality food and portions are very generous. Location of the hotel is excellent, everything was in very close proximity, walking distance to all historic sites during the day and great restaurants, pubs at night. Highly recommended.
comfortable and cute
We bopped in for an overnight because the website said they had a hot-tub and we wanted to sit in one. Cute room. Filled the rooftop tub for us. Drank great coffee. Comfy bed and quiet room. Great location if you know how to get around Jerusalem.
Highly recommended
Beautiful place, friendly service, great Location! Could maybe benefit from a few more breakfast options without eggs... only one choice. That said the breakfast Netze was more thank enough! Highly recommended!
Amazing stay, great hospitality, comfortable rooms and the most delicious breakfast I have ever had! Highly recommend
Atmosphere is just great. Location very good. If I come back for sure I’ll stay over there
Good hotel in a great location. Can walk to all the major sites.
I had a family emergency and called to cancel with 6 days prior notice and they were very unaccommodating.
Incredible
Amazing! All staff were great. Manager was brilliant, very personable and made sure everything was just right. Exceeded our expectations on all levels. Room was perfect. Breakfasts were incredible! Will definitely be back and recommend to all our friends!
A great boutique hotel walking distance to the old city. Very comfortable beds and great service. WiFi strength weak throughout the facility during our stay maybe due to the thick walls at maybe because of a full hotel. Either way, would expect good WiFi.
Loved the lovely flower landscape in the courtyard and the stone architecture. Loved the rich decor. My room was large and the bed was comfortable. Loved the coffee. Breakfast was highly rated however I feel that it was on the heavier side with strong flavour profiles. Would have liked better pastry as well.
Location was great. Short walk to Old City and to the tram Breakfast was excellent. Nice small, comfortable boutique hotel
Vintage stylish clean hotel staff are very friendly and location is great
שירות נפלא, ארוחת בוקר מצויינת ומיקום נהדר של המלון מומלץ מאוד!
Old City of Jerusalem
Very nice room and bathroom, only 24 rooms so service very good and quiet. Located very well for walking around the old city and just one street away from the main street with restaurants, shops, light rail line and money changers.
Very good hotel in central area
Main reason for not giving it a 10 is due to parking problem. The hotel does not have parking on the property. I stead you need yo go and self park about 250 meters in a public parking. If you make a error on the way, like we did, you get stuck in traffic for an hour. Once we got yo hotel all was great. We were greated by the hotel manager with Cava which was nice. Rooms are good size. All is very clean and nice. TV is new with most channels. We went to the SPA which is very small, single room . Massage was very good. Breakfast was very good. It is rich and Mediterranean type with several options. We took the Shashuka and Musli. Both where very nice. It also comes with coffee, fresh juice, bread and multiple small plates. Very rich breakfast!. It is a walking distance from major attractions and we went to Machane Yehuda marketn highly recommended both at evening and at day time. Totally different experience.
Great stay in Jerusalem
Loved it! Celebrated our anniversary. Staff was very warm and welcoming. Offered us a free upgrade to a Junior Suite with balcony and a late checkout. Breakfast was great. Room was lovely and spacious. Location is great - very close to Jaffa st and the Market in Mahane Yehuda.
Great place to stay
Outstanding hotel & staff. Only drawback was they don’t have parking and fee to park about two blocks away is kind of high.
Great view up top..rooms nicley decerated amazinvery good and greg king size bed and lovley shampo/soap etc...coffe in room would be nice and larger rooms. Brakefast is ve
We were looked after by a lovely staff and management. Excellent in every way! Morton Myles
Very central, a mix of ambient mix swanky infused into the old city character. Very helpful staff, and high quality, with first rate beddings, furnishings and amenities. The breakfasts are prepared with distinction and with a breezy gravitas.
Great location, very small but clean room. Limited breakfast menu and amenities
Lovely hotel and so close to everything
What was unique is the location of the hotel, which was close to transportation, restaurants and tours.
Bad stay.
Terrible hotel. Service non existent. Food awful.
This little boutique hotel is swanky-chic with an old world Jerusalem twist. The staff is very polite and professional. The accommodations surpassed my expectations -- the chef and dishes are outstanding. I would highly recommend this lovely modern addition located in the heartland of this ancient city.
Outstanding staff at the front desk & restaurant. Danielle and Yehuda were extremely helpful in arranging customized visits to places around Jerusalem, given the limited time we had, they came up with great options. Their suggestions and arrangements made our trip totally worth the money spent. Thank you, Danielle and Yehuda! Also, the staff at the restaurant downstairs were cheerful, and arranged for vegetarian options (their Israeli brunch menu is one of the best!), not to mention the location -- few minutes walk to Jaffa St, and the old city.
Class and Comfort
The Villa Brown is top notch...great service, lovely room, wonderful amenities.
Amazing couple's retreat
Everything was amazing - hotel decor, location, food.
What a unique, well-located, and well-run property. My wife and I visited late November 2018. The former villa is a beautiful building from the courtyard to the lobby to the rooms themselves. Located within easy walking distance to the light rail, the old city, and plenty of dining and shopping. Finally, the service was excellent, with check in, breakfast, special requests, etc all above expectations. We would highly recommend.
Nice hotel in an old mansion. Has flair and color
The most
Was overall very enjoyable stay
not too keen
The hotel is new but the condition of our room was not impressive, the general level of service was low in comparison to the level of expectation from a Brown establishment, the age of the establishment and the cost of accommodation.
Nice boutique hotel, great breakfast. Could do with being a little bit friendlier on the initial checking, but all the staff were great. We enjoyed our stay here.
Clean room, updated shower. Staff especially Ahya was nice and very helpful with booking our tours. Restaurant staff was friendly. Hotel location is 15-20 minute walk to Old City Jerusalem, Jaffa Road, Yehuda market, Mamilla mall.
Great boutique hotel (28 rooms) in a wonderfully central location close to the shopping and dining area of Jaffa Street and Ben Yehuda. The owner has done a beautiful job of converting an old home into a luxury boutique hotel.
Beautiful hotel with no good service to match!
Villa Brown is a beautiful hotel. Its main problem it is that it has one of the most unprofessional and untrained staff I have found on any hotel I have ever stayed...let alone a place as expensive as this one is. I called the front desk to ask for ice the first evening I was there and the front desk person told me "they didn't have any room service and that if I wanted to get ice I could come down to the kitchen and get it myself...if I wanted to." Service overall in the hotel is slow, unprofessional and very ill trained to deal with people that are willing to pay the prices they charge. They were times we came into the hotel and there was no attendants for at least 10 minutes at the front desk, and when they showed up they didn't even greet you but gave you attitude as if they were doing you a favor. A welcoming hello is not part of the culture of this hotel. And, really bad/sketchy wifi for such a small hotel. Unfortunate...it could be a beautiful place in Jerusalem to look forward to go back to. I won't!
Very Good Stay, Located great, the rooms are clean - problem with parking
Very good experience of boutique hotel
Cleanliness hotel
Excellent location only 5 mins from the old city, breakfast was fabulous and the hotel is an oasis in the middle of Jerusalem, the only complaint was that we choose the property because it offered parking which is actually a 5 min walk away in a public carpark
I am disappointed with Orbitz. This reservation was cancelled
Beautiful boutique hotel excellent location
This hotel is beautiful. Modern touches but classic Israeli style, very comfortable beds and huge conplimentary breakfast which was some of the best food I’ve eaten! Excellent location, close enough to walk to all the major areas but quieter and cleaner than the Main Street. I would recommend this hotel to everyone vistiting jerusalem.
Perfect location. Within walking distance to most restaurants, shopping and holy sites.
The luxury of the premises and first class treatment by the staff.
Beautiful Boutique Hotel
I stayed a week in this fabulous hotel which is in a perfect location! Superb breakfast and lovely reception and dining staff. Disapponting aspects which detracted from my stay was the minimal daily clean and the management's poor and very delayed response to an overcharged breakfast on my bill. Checkout receptionist was not able to resolve and it took days of me emailing to finally get a refund.
Nice hotel, sour face service
Nice hotel, staff should be trained to acknowledge guests with a smile instead of turning around when you approach them. Smiling is free and makes a world of a difference
Fantastic Hotel
Amazing, pampering stay. The place is beautifully styled, the house drink is iced tea with lemon and mint (complimentary), one of the best brunches ever - a mixture of East and West. The room was clean, the rooftop jaccuzzi - a true pleasure.
We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service. The hotel is only about 10-15 minute walk to the Old City, 5 minutes to the tram and 20 minutes to the market. The only downside is the room was a little small with limited closet space.
1 night stay in Jerusalem
Lovely hotel
Sumptuous breakfast
sumptuous breakfast with arriving drink. A boutique hotel with character.
Great location, fabulous breakfasts
Excellent location within walking distance to fabulous restaurants, the Old City, and shuk. Pleasant siting areas inside and on patio. The absolute best breakfasts we’ve had in Israel and that’s saying a lot since they have been amazing everywhere we’ve gone. They take it to the next level. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend
Beautiful hotel in old renovated Ottoman area house located only a short walk from the Jaffa and Damascus gates to the old city. Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast/brunch served from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. We enjoyed the nice little bar after return from diner every night. We booked the hotel again when we return at the end of our trip around Israel.
Disappointed
we were very disappointed in the hotel, since the reviews were so positive. when we arrived the person at the reception desk seemed more annoyed than happy to see us -- never cracked a smile. the room was very small and no closets, few dresser drawers, and limited space for hanging clothing. it would have been okay for a one night stay, not for 4 nights. after the cold reception, the service varied from person to person at the front desk. we asked to have a taxi booked for our trip to the airport and got 3 different answers from 3 different people regarding price, pickup time and if we could use a credit card. it was the end of our trip and we didn't have a lot of Schekels left. we were told that the taxi we booked would accept cards, but when we got to the airport the credit card machine mysteriously wasn't working. fortunately we had US dollars, which the driver accepted. breakfast was good, but the service was slow and disorganized. the waitresses seemed to be trying, but it took forever to get even a cup of coffee. We didn't want the full breakfast, but it was brought to us anyway. we hated to see food wasted, but I guess that there was limited flexibility in the kitchen. the area was okay, and there were several nice restaurants in a short walking distance. it wasn't close to any tourist attractions, but we had hired a guide who picked us up every morning and took us to the sites we wanted to see. i can't recommend the hotel for more than one or two nights.
Really Nice Boutique Hotel
I really enjoyed my stay at Villa Brown. It is a quaint boutique hotel, nicely appointed with a lovely outdoor patio/garden area. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The rooms are small but cute. The only issue is there is no place to put your suitcase so they kindly let me use a foot stool from the lobby! Their breakfast was not my favorite, but some may like it better. They serve a typical Israeli meal with all of the small dishes and an item you can order. I found that the granola turned out to be the best bet for me as I wasn't super fond of all of the side dishes, although I liked them at other places we stayed. It just wasn't my favorite place regarding the food. However, they were nice and the ambiance is great there.
Great breakfast, room was clean and bed very comfortable. Quiet and friendly staff.
Outstanding hotel, perfect location
This boutique hotel was simply fantastic, one of those my wife and I will remember and talk about for years (and that's saying something - we travel extensively, and remembering specific hotels is a rarity - they all seem to meld into our memories.) The staff were superb, and the location ideal - a few minutes walking distance from the Old City. The rooms are unique and captivating. Only knock is the bathrooms - they could stand to be a bit larger - but overall an outstanding experience. Highly recommended.
Amazing breakfast and more.....
This is just simply a great place. Boutique hotel atmosphere with a funky underground bar with a mixologist that will blow your mind. We got a balcony room that was quite lovely. Beds comfortable. The service is professional and efficient. The breakfast in the morning will change your life. The mezza salads (little plates) that are included with the breakfast are thoughtfully put together both in appearance and taste. Although on a busy street it was quiet In the rooms. The bus stop is right in front and takes you directly to the western wall. It’s also a short walk to the light rain corridor and many great restaurant. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Charming hotel
Hotel is a restored villa with charming decor and ambiance. Very relaxed. Room beautiful and very comfortable (we stayed in deluxe terrace). Breakfast/brunch was amazing and the flexible times fantastic. Lovely terrace in front. Staff all really nice and helpful. Perfect location to walk around centre, for East Jerusalem and public transport.
Poor value
Tiny rooms. Arrived to shower; no towels in room. Over-priced and over-rated. Would avoid.
Jerusalem jewel
Breakfast was remarkable: presentation/quality and creativity- the best. Hotel service was attentive, personable and detail oriented without being overbearing.
Lovely boutique hotel
Great location and amazing breakfasts (served til 4pm)!
Nice Stay with
Wonderful breakfast Nice balcony but a bit noisy as it faced a busy street.
Nice Hotel needs some improvements
Excelent breackfast! The ladies who serve us where amazing! The room needs closets, there’s no place to hang your cloths! We keep our cloths in our suitcase! Good experience
Room was not big with not enough power sockets. Service was below average. Breakfast poorly explained which caused us missed first one and we came down an hour before our tour guide came to pick us up! Second day couldn't have it as we have to leave 7am. Breakfast should be from 6am and there should be some kind of a buffet, even small one. Front desk staff was also not very welcoming. The food we managed to gave in the hotel was excellent quality though. In the room was welcoming gift of chocolates and wine which was very nice and appreciated.
lovely hotel
Nice hotel, great location, excellent breakfast. Frendly stuff Amazing decoration Highly recommended
Wish I could have stayed longer!
This is a very charming hotel. The courtyard is absolutely charming; a great place to eat breakfast. The breakfast was fabulous with local dishes and many choices. The salads and breads are delicious. Great, convenient location.
Great New Boutique Hotel
This hotel is brand new and still working out some of the kinks. That said, it is fantastic and we would recommend it to all. Location is ideal. Breakfast is spectacular. Facilities are very nice. We had a car with us and parking was a problem in this area. No spaces at the hotel and local parking facilities are very expensive.

delightful hotel
A lovely interesting building with a very warm welcome. Great breakfast served to the table. Only criticism was that the room was cold and the bathroom floor freezing. Our visit was January!
