I just got home from Viceroy last night - I loved the quiet atmosphere of the resort, but at times it seemed too quiet. I’m not sure if it was the time of year I went, but there was at most 3 other people out at the pool/beach. It was raining off and on, so maybe that’s why too. Otherwise, the service and staff were amazing and went above and beyond every single interaction. The walking distance from my room to the common areas was not bad at all and the hotel has many umbrella stations around for when it is raining. There are a lot of animals, granted it is in the jungle, but there were multiple around the plunge pool, very frequently throughout the day. The food and drinks were okay, not bad, but I have had better at other resorts. Overall, I would go back, but maybe a different time of year with (hopefully) better weather since it rained literally every day of my stay.
Small boutique property with beautiful grounds, excellent service, spacious and very private villas with private pools. It is best for very quiet, relaxing, secluded type of vacations, even though Playa del Carmen is only a short taxi drive away. I think they strike a great balance between eco friendliness, nature and comfort. They have a very nice SPA as well
When I first booked this trip, I noticed some mixed reviews that I’d like to address. My experience was outstanding! The location is beautiful and peaceful, yet welcoming. You truly feel immersed in the jungle. The rooms are more spacious and comfortable than typical resort rooms. I was initially concerned about the beach being described as rocky, fearing it might be unusable. However, the ocean was very close and perfectly enjoyable. While there are some rocks, it didn’t hinder my ability to relax and soak in the waves. Additionally, a short walk down the beach offers a different experience if desired. Another review mentioned mosquitos as an issue. Expecting the resort to control mosquitos is like expecting a hotel in Seattle to control the rain. Yes, there are bugs in the jungle, but the resort provides ample mosquito repellent. One reviewer complained about a long uphill walk at the resort, but I found everything to be easily accessible. There was a slight uphill climb for about 20 yards, which is hardly worth mentioning. Compared to other resorts where I’ve had to walk 20 minutes to get food, navigating this resort was a breeze, and the surroundings are incredibly beautiful. Finally, I really enjoyed the food. Yes, it’s expensive to eat and drink, but that’s expected at a non-inclusive resort. Frankly, I’ve stayed at similar places, and the experience here was worth every penny. Alberto and others made the the experience so easy. I'd absolutely go again.
Everything was perfect and beautiful. Me and my wife loved it. We will definitely come back.
Great staff set the viceroy apart. Beach front location.
Engañosos los cobros. Pagas todo por Expedia y lo primero que hacen al recibirte en el hotel es cobrarte los resort fees y otras que están carisimas. Aguas La comida no se si cambiaron al chef pero terrible.
The villa was beautiful and the staff was so friendly.
Great place out of the busy city
This hotel is quaint and adorable for a quiet couples trip. The staff and service is impeccable. They are so very kind and attentive to every detail. The villas and very private and the grounds are lush jungle and really lovely
The villas are a dream and the walk path to the pool with access to the beach is just a dream.
Very dark rooms. Inadequate lighting on the casitas, as you go outside and all over the property. Hard to see steps and I fell. Waiters got something wrong with every order.
The resort is quiet and hidden for those looking for privacy. The facilities and amenities were top notch and well taken care of; the staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.
Romantic, private beautiful accommodations. We especially enjoyed the private pool and the outdoor shower. The attentive service made our stay wonderful.
We had a fantastic stay at the Viceroy. From the moment we arrived it was first class the entire time. We used the resort car service which was nice to not have to hassle with the taxis when we arrived at the airport. Straight through the chaos, to our car and away we went. Greeted with drinks and quick lay of the land and shown to our bungalow after the financials were handled. Could not have been happier with #34. It was off the main path, plenty of privacy and extremely clean. Great plunge pool was used daily/nightly. Hammock needs changed as the ends were too close and couldn’t lay back. Room was amazing. No complaints. Clean, cool and comfortable. Outdoor shower was exceptional and almost every shower was taken outdoors. Entire setup was perfect we really felt like we were there alone. Food was very good. Menu selections had a nice variety. My girlfriend is a vegetarian so I was a little worried about finding options for here but wait staff understood and were helpful in making sure she had choices. Beach was the least impressive of the entire facility. It was nice but not great and was rocky as other reviews suggest. Would not go for the beach specifically but pool area was great. All staff were amazing and extremely helpful. Could not have been happier and it didn’t feel forced. Bottom line is we will be back and excited for another trip. You won’t be disappointed. Could be a bit noisy on the weekends from neighbor resort. It was on Friday.
The staff wants to suck your blood , not friendly at all.
Very nice experience. The staff was fantastic!
Beautiful, relaxing and excellent staff
Hotel / resort was good and well appointed. Staff was nice and friendly. You got feel as we stayed in a jungles. Main value of this place - privacy and quietness. Few things to consider: beach was rocky and inaccessible with bare feet, need short walk to neighbor hotel sea access point. There were only two restaurants on the property - consider 15 min taxi ride at fixed $20 as alternative dinnner in town. Another tip: Once book airport transfer - stay away from Shuttle Central transfer company (offered by Expedia - we regret) : driver came late (40 min.), minibus was bitten up. Our driver - also had fun watching TV season on his cell phone all way while driving to our resort. 😀 We did his video! Viva Mexico 🇲🇽!
Very much a Private facility
The grounds are beautiful and our room couldn't have been better. The private plunge pool and outdoor shower were so relaxing. We stayed 8 days and had all meals but one at Viceroy - the food was fabulous. The beach is beautiful but rocky at the shore line. The staff and service are first rate. Every request was taken care of immediately! Playa Del Carme in an easy 15 cab ride away with lots to see. Many excursions are available but we came to just take it easy and didn't try any. I HIGHLY recommend Viceroy and hope to go back.
My Dream Birthday
We did The Best Choice with Viceroy! Incredible Rooms, The Best Service, the Spa is a Other Nivel Nice Beach and Beautiful View, Excellent food, The Service in the Beach Wowwww, We come back Soon!
The staff at the Viceroy is unbelievable! Best experience at a resort I have ever had! My wife and I went here for our honeymoon and we could not be happier with our experience!
Great place to stay if you are looking for something quiet and relaxing. The private pool villas are awesome and perfect for a romantic get away. Lots of wildlife to see on the property being set in the jungle. Staff was very professional. Came here in September 2022 for reference and the main drawback is that the beach is not good for swimming due to an abundance of rocks. Food and drinks were very good but could use a little more variety in the breakfast menu. I did some spearfishing in front of the property and the kitchen cooked the lobsters, octopus and fish I caught which was prepared wonderfully. Not a great spot for the family, but I would definitely recommend this place for couple looking for a romantic escape.
We liked the privacy of the rooms, the private patios and pools. The music from neighboring properties was loud two out of the three nights we were there and made it difficult to sleep. The service was very good. The rooms were beautiful but a little dark. The bathrooms were very nice. We liked the indoor and outdoor showers.
The rooms and property are beautiful - small houses in junglelike nature. The rooms look like something out of a movie with a plunge pool and hammock. The staff is extraordinary! They were so friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Rodrigo who told me where to find delicious tacos in Playa del Carmen and was so welcoming at the poolside breakfast restaurant. The spa is wonderful and there was music every night. Definitely recommend it for a romantic getaway.
The staff was outstanding.
The service at this property was beyond excellent. The pool, gift shop, and wait staff went above and beyond my expectations. The exceptional staff members included: Pepe and Francisco at the the restaurant, Yvonne at the gift shop who shopped for a sun shirt for my daughter, and Pablo at the dive shop. The food was also excellent. The real drawback at the hotel was the noise at night from the properties surrounding the hotel. The music was SO INCREDIBLY LOUD and being inside the rooms seemed to amplify it. Instead of addressing the issue, the hotel passive aggressively left ear plugs on the night table. The music was so loud on the edge of the property that the water in my glass was vibrating. I asked the first night if this happened every night, the reply was that “it only happens on the weekends.” Two days later when the noise was at a crescendo, I requested to move our room. The front desk staff was condescending and acted as if it were an unreasonable request. At the end of our stay, I was told by the butler that our late checkout was no longer viable because “we moved rooms.” Later, I showed the front desk staff our letter of guaranteed late check out and was granted a check out at 2:00. The noise would have been so much easier to tolerate had I known about the noise at the start of our stay. An explanation of the ear plugs and an acknowledgment of the noise at night would have gone a long way.
Place was great. Perfect couples getaway.
Excellent hotel.
We stayed at the Viceroy for 2 nights during the week. We absolutely loved our stay. The service exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. The only negative things we have to say is that dinner menu during the week is a little lack luster. Everything else about our stay was amazing!
The property was excellent. The staff was mostly great, however, I had $1,500 taken from my room. The manager was very apologetic and understanding, which I appreciated, but that doesn’t change the event.
Beautiful and luxurious Mexican Resort
The property is beautiful and the rooms are large and very comfortable. Each one has an outdoor (and indoor) shower and private plunge pool. The food was excellent. The spa was beautiful. Lastly the hotel is pretty convenient to the Cancun airport.
Love everything about this hotel. The service completely overrule the disadvantage of the beach. Would definitely come back and stay for more days.
Relaxing, indulging, romantic. Perfect for our honeymoon. Staff was so welcoming, food was delicious, amazing villa.
This place is very nice and private. It is a good change from the big resorts in the area. Service and accommodations are second to none. The only thing bad is that the food is very expensive. Most dinners for me and my wife were $200-300. I suppose that is the price to pay for a secluded getaway.
I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. Everyone was incredibly friendly and thoughtful. Our massage experience was the best either of us ever had, it is a must. Breakfast every morning was perfectly prepared and you’re staring at the ocean. The room was spacious, secluded, and you can’t beat having an outdoor shower plus your own pool. This is the perfect place for a couple looking for a romantic and relaxing vibe. We will definitely go back.
The staff was amazing
real bad experience with the front desk and stuff
Amazing relaxing stay.
A very relaxing, no stress trip. Villa's beautiful, staff excellent and great food.
Staff was unhappy with having to do their jobs. The property is worn down, plenty of foul smells, loud AC noise, abundance of mosquitoes, the food is terrible and overpriced.
Private beautiful villa great outdoor shower awesome , small but cozy pool., hammock a huge plus comfy outdoor bed and table n two chairs Amazing included breakfast. Note very secluded area shops and other hotels etc are far away. A great adult retreat. Spa experience incredible worth every penny. Only minor disappointment dinner selection on most days. No rice n beans on days we were there. Be aware if staying more than 5 days better off doing all inclusive. Food prices are very high. Average dinner with one cocktail for two over 160.00 a hamburger with fries for two 75.00 average. All in all very pleased with stay.
The staff was amazing and very attentive. Will come back
Excellent resort - great stay (even post COVID)
This was our third stay at the Viceroy, and it continues to be one of the best resorts in Mexico. They are taking all appropriate precautions related to COVID-19, which I was impressed by. This is a perfect location for anyone looking to relax and enjoy a beautiful beach resort, while also being safe during this dangerous time.
Private villas, a wonderful spa, amazing staff! We have visited on 2 occasions - and we will be back !
The staff was attentive, friendly, and professional. They went above and beyond to make us feel special. The space itself was beautiful. Our villa was clean and spacious. We loved the private plunge pool. My only complaint is that a neighboring resort played its music rather loudly from about 7-11 pm a few of the nights we were there. Other than that, great place!
I loved this place! It was amazing! Great service. Perfect place.
The privacy of our outdoor space was amazing! Also, the staff and food was excellent!
We didn’t get to stay as they had locked the gates to the property. We received an email the day before saying we had been transferred to another hotel via our booking site. Apparently they are having property disputes with the neighbours or something... why we wee only told the day before when apparently this has been happening for weeks who knows.
This property is truly on another level when it comes to enjoying a quiet and relaxing vacation in Mexico. The staff are hyper attentive to any need, and will go above and beyond expectations at every step of your time on property. My wife and I have visited many other resorts in the area over the years, but can say without a doubt that we have found our spot going forward. The food was outstanding. I highly recommend the mayan all inclusive option. I don't think that there was anything that we would have changed about the trip. If you are looking for a low key, relaxing, adult atmosphere, and to avoid the loud party vibe, this is most definitely the spot for you.
Friendly and excellent service! Lovely staff that went out of their way to ensure a fabulous vacation!
GREAT Property and Staff!
Amazing property, amazing staff, attention to detail was amazing. HIGHLY recommended.
Spectacular grown up getaway
Wonderful service - fantastic beach, great food, lovely pool, great spa treatments, beautiful property with lush green, spectacular bungalows & private spaces
Loved the staff and the hospitality we were shown. The staff really worked hard to make us feel special and well taken care of. The resort itself is by far one of the nicer ones in the area. The resort is relatively small, is clean, and quaint with nice restaurants (2) and lounging areas. The food and drinks were surprisingly yummy (and we consider ourselves a little food snobby-we love GOOD food). Our villa was spacious and private. We LOVED our outdoor shower (there is also one inside). There are not as many amenities because the resort is smaller. No game room or activities. They have two kayaks so if other people have them, you have to wait your turn. They were available when we wanted them, so maybe not a big issue. Our only real complaint is that it was more expensive then we were expecting. The food was quite expensive (we didn't stay all-inclusive) with the average meal for 2 costing around $100 USD. Drinks were also not cheap (average cocktail $14 USD). A spa treatment (50 minute massage and 30 minute facial) cost $236 USD and that was with a promotion! They really nickel and dime you for stuff which adds up quickly. Overall, a GREAT place to stay. You'll feel like royalty. The staff will make you feel like family. If you're rich, even better.
All the staff was very friendly and service exceptional
WE LOVED EVERYTHING VERY NICE STAFF AND AMAZING RESORT
Everything was excellent except the food.
Food is not the best. Room for improvement
property was beautiful and we like that it only has 41 rooms and love our villa with private pool. Didn’t like loud music playing next door at the beach club but was glad it stopped around 10:30-11. Need to change or update lunch and dinner menu and let customers know price of special. Dinner was not worth $285 with flys handing around our food!
The staff are amazing and have been by far the best group of people I’ve encountered when staying in hotels. We felt at home and our time at Viceroy was amazing.
My wife and I decided on this property due to it's secludedness and private plunge pool. fhdf
The resort was better than described. My husband I enjoyed the privacy and intimacy of the villa with the personal plunge pool, hammock, outdoor lounging bed, and outdoor shower. We took advantage of the 80-minute massage, which were performed by very well-trained therapists, were in an amazing outdoor setting with a waterfall creating a relaxing and soothing atmosphere. The property offered small pockets in the jungle to allow one to express themselves through painting or writing or mediating. The staff was most attentive. We did not want for anything. The requests we made were met with enthusiasm and respect. Even though there were only two restaurants on the property, the menus were extensive, and we enjoyed delicious meals. We look forward to visiting Viceroy Riviera Maya again!!!
The facilities were beautiful. Our private pool was always warm and the toilitries were always full in both the indoor and outdoor showers. Extremely spacious villas and the pool was wonderful. Service during breakfast and around the pool was extremely slow even though there weren't that many guests around, but it did not put a damper on our holiday. The location was only 20 mins from PDC where we went every night for dinner. I'd definitely stay at the Hotel Viceroy again.
The property was gorgeous, on the smaller size, quiet and intimant which is exactly what we were looking for this trip to Mexico. The staff was very attentative and made everything very easy for us. My only complaint was that they kept loosing electricity periodically.
The service from the staff was amazing. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay at the Viceroy was forever to be remembered.
Romantic Getaway in Paradise!
This was our third time at The Viceroy and as always it exceeded expectations. It is a slice of paradise! The staff is wonderful and they all go above and beyond to provide service at the highest level. They work together as a team to make every guests visit something special. We will return!
great service, private villas, lots of staff always available
Best. Service. Ever. Beautiful, private, perfect.
We love this place. We get the best service in the world here. Been back three times, and we will keep coming back because of the amazing staff, like our friend, Hugo! Ask for him & he'll make sure you're treated like royalty 💛
Very excellent vacation destination. Will be returning in the near future!
We liked the fact that your pool villa has a heater to get you temperature you desire. It was terrible how manager handled the issue with non working air conditioner, like “so what”. Overall I think at the most this property should be 4 star.
Small, quiet and perfectly attended to in all respects. It was the ideal getaway destination to relax and rejuvenate.
Great service and friendliness of staff. Food was good. Drinks average. Need more wine selection. Love the layout of our room. Was a little dated in our pool area. Great service at the beach.
A boutique hotel with excellent service
Maybe we were just out of luck as arrived in the middle of a thunderstorm. The room was pretty and I loved the decor. Only thing that I got bothered was a leaky roof. Poor guys had to fix it as the roof kept letting water in on a couch. Otherwise, I had a pleasant stay. Service is great, you will get what you have paid for. Will return.
That service was perfect but the beach was not great. The property is beautiful
Small boutique resort. Everything you need right on the property
overall excellent vacation spot , food to salty, staff could not do enough for you.
Beautiful private villas. Excellent service and super friendly staff.
The hotel facilities are excellent, nice beach, the rooms are spacious and clean. The location near Playa de Carmen and at the same time very private. I have stayed more than five times in this hotel and would do it again. Only one detail is the service on the beach and in the restaurant, despite being super friendly, it is very slow. The food although it has good quality, lacks of creativity and varíete. If you improve these two aspects this hotel is Paradise and perfect.
Very quiet, excellent service, coral grill is excellent, private plunge pool was a huge plus. It's an amazing place to escape the fast paced city and just relax and know everything you need is taken care of or will be if asked. They go above and beyond and I felt like I had my own personal service.
Perfect honeymoon getaway! The customer service is exceptional, facilities clean and comfortable, and the in-room churros were delicious!
Excellent service which I didn’t think existed anymore. All of my needs were fulfilled to the smallest of detail. Staff was extremely patient. The beach bed rental and the romantic turn down service were the ultimate romantic experiences and I would highly recommend them.
The staffs were friendly and patient. The service were excellent and Impeccable here. The food were delicious and delicate but expensive.
Great stay very accomodating staff and facility. PePe is the best. Room very comfortable. Wish i was told about the 15% and 16% taxes before hand. Definitly go with all inclusive if its an option.
The hotel was excellent! While it rained most of the time during our stay, the room and outdoor courtyard layout were very accommodating for this. The one complaint I had is that there were a lot of mosquitoes and both of the restaurants only had outdoor seating.
Great experience. Only negative side was the terrible mosquitos on the premises
We had an amazing stay at The Viceroy. The staff, the hotel grounds, the food and the villas are beyond words. A true paradise! Thank you to The Viceroy for making our trip magical!
Amazing
Pepe and Fatima made our already amazing experience that much better with their amazing personalities and level of service.
Hola Mexico!
We stayed at the Viceroy Riviera Playa del Carmen for 8 days. The Villas were perfect, king size bed, outdoor shower, beautifully appointed. The staff made our stay very comfortable, relaxing & enjoyable. To Alberto & Carlos we especially thank you. A shuttle from the hotel to Player Del Carmen could be a good investment. We found it a little far and expensive to travel to and from via private car. This would be a great addition for your guests as they can get more of the Mexican experience. Very special accomodatiom and service.
Beautiful hidden boutique property, not tucked behind one of the big resort facades. At first we were wondering what we would find at the end of the road but it was incredible! The details were amazing throughout. Lush landscape, beautiful villas, gorgeous use of natural materials such as wood and stone, tasteful, light furnishings and seaside decor, delicious food, and wonderful, attentive people and service. Felt like we were being welcomed home. The spa was fabulous too! My only complaint (which is not something the hotel can really fix) is that the ocean is quite rocky and not very good for swimming. This is a problem throughout the area though so definitely not site specific. They do provide water shoes though. And they work SO hard to clear the seaweed and keep the sand soft and beautiful. I was thoroughly impressed and loved our stay.
Relax
This was a really nice place to be spoiled, the staff was amazing, the food, and the hotel is an expirience Everyone should take a few days to visit
Best Hotel in Riviara Maya Mexico
Even better experience the second visit. While we didn’t think we could top our first stay at this resort our second visit was even better. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are amazing. The service at this resort is the best in the whole luxury category in Mexico. We can’t wait to visit again.
Beautiful room.
Our room was amazing. We upgraded to beach view My daughters rooom was also very cool and spacious. But not as cool as the beach view The food was good and the staff was amazing ! Coolest huts and so roomy ! Beach was a bit rocky but beach service was amazing
Perfect hotel for couples!
The Viceroy Riviera Maya was incredible. Everyone was so helpful. We absolutely loved it! Can’t wait to return.
Another wonderful stay
Just about everything about this hotel is wonderful. The rooms are nestled in a jungle so there is great privacy and a feeling of better at one with nature. We love the fact that there is a private outdoor shower and a private heated plunge pool even for the lowest priced room. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is quite good, indeed surprisingly so, especially the breakfasts and the Mexican street food dinner. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the service was great.
Absolutely Wonderful Experience
Would HIGHLY recommend this hotel based on the beautiful natural setting, great rooms, wonderful attentive staff and great location. Took a private transfer with SUV and got there from the Cancun airport in <1 hour. After a short tour we were on the beach with wonderful staff like Rodrigo and Pepe to take care of us. Great cabanas, not too crowded, and wonderful beach. The private decks and plunge pools were amazing. Would strongly recommend for a honeymoon or anniversary trip.
Nice Rooms Bad Experience
The Viceroy Mayan Riviera is a boutique hotel situated just 15 minutes north of the Playa del Carmen city area. Great in thought, but when it comes to execution, serious improvement is needed to bill at 5 stars. We booked for 5 days 4 nights. Our experience was 3/5 or mediocre at best. The Good: The Viceroy is small with only 50 or so private, secluded villas. If you like privacy, you will love it here. Each villa has its own heated plunge pool always set to the perfect temperature. Rooms are scattered about a manicured jungle, which can feel less like a resort and more like a secret escape. Staff is warm. Villas are spacious. The Bad: The layout. The food. The infrastructure. The service. Because each Villa is tucked away alone in the jungle. You may find yourself getting lost often with no point of reference. Of course food is subjective, but the prices are extremely high for the quality. You will find yourself paying upwards of one to two hundred dollars per night - the restaurant does meet that level. Buildings here are made palapa style with thatched palm leaves. The main restaurant was completely destroyed because of bad weather prior to our arrival, meaning we had to eat in a grill area every night. On our last night, a rain storm poured through the roof directly onto my face as I slept at 1am, ruining my night. The beach is poorly manicured and the ocean is unusable due to sharp rocks. At checkout, we were given a bill but charged differently. This was scary.
Fabulous, but .....
We went to the Viceroy for a relaxing week and we loved our stay there, the staff were very welcoming and helpful the setting was stunning, we had a beachfront villa, waking up every morning was a delight. Breakfast was lovely, with plenty of choice, evening meal was ok nothing special. For us there was a lack of nearby restaurants. The main reason for not giving this resort 5* is the resort next door, unfortunately out of Viceroys control! On our last night we asked to be moved from our villa at 2 in the morning as the booming music and shouting from a wedding on the beach was not allowing us to sleep, I will say that the staff at Viceroy did all that they could for us and gave us another villa away from the the noise - thank you.
Gorgeous Resort close to Beach--TOP SERVICE!!
Do yourself a favor and book your stay here! My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and it was one of favorite vacations thanks to the staff at Viceroy! We live in Las Vegas and work in the hospitality industry so we already have high levels of expectations and the staff at our resort met and exceeded all our needs! They were also extremely sincere and kind which made our stay feel much more personable. And the villa and the resort is set in the mayan jungle; so it was very private, romantic, and you really feel like you are a world away. Special Kudos to particular staff members that made our stay truly magical and memorable: Rosie, Oscar, Omar, Alberto, Fatima, Jorge, Angel, Edgar, Victor, and Roger--you all are the Best!! We look forward to a return visit for an anniversary. Thank you for making our honeymoon the best ever!
Great romantic hotel
We had an excellent stay at the Viceroy. Very romantic and secluded hotel. Service is great and the quality of food is amazing. I would have enjoy a true espresso in the morning, and a better music soundtrack updated to the current period of the day and mood. Thank you for a great stay
Viceroy ---a great getaway
Beautiful resort---bungalows were fantastic---all of them very private---great accommodations! Very well maintained--service was over the top! All staff were very friendly and very helpful. Private patios and private spas were fantastic! Room service great! Would advise going all inclusive as food and drinks were pricey but good! The beach is not a very good swimming beach---big rocks! Great palapas on beach! Beautiful pool! WE will go again but will only go All Inclusive
Wonderful Service
This is a great hotel; the service is wonderful. We are planning to go back next year.
Absolutely perfect!
Phenomenal. Perfection. From the staff, to the rooms and grounds and the amazing food, we couldn’t have asked for more. We were treated like kings. It was a magical experience that we will never forget....and one that we will definitely repeat soon! VICEROY RIVIERA MAYA, you have our hearts!
The setting is tranquil, the villas are well designed, very large, and private. The staff are incredibly attentive, polite, personalble, intuitive, professional and take pride in what they do. This was a one week getaway for my wife and I to celebrate her birthday and generally unwind. This is our 8th time to the area and our taste has evolved from the big resorts that cater to everyone to the small boutique resorts such as Viceroy. We appreciate the personal attention we received by all, from Alberto's welcome upon arrival, to Christina and her teams perfection in the kitchen, to sommelier Carlos(1)' expertise, with waiters Pablo & Carlos(2)' attention (honorable mention to Mario) in the main dining restaurant "La Marea". Abner, Victor, Jesus, and Fransisco were spot on in the "Coral Restarurant & Bar". Jose, Juan, and Pepe were kickin' it poolside with snack, lounger, sunglass, chilled towel, and drink service. We'll not soon forget the salsa dance lessons put together by Alberto & Carla just for my wife on her birthday, from a simple mention my wife made to Pablo and Carlos a day prior. I don't know how we're going top this one... perhaps only by a second visit.
