Overall the place was a cute place to stay for a few days. Maybe more much more duitanle t h as n a hotel as lthough i prefer airbnb. However it was enjoyable relaxing TVS IN ROOM NEED TO BE UP TO DATE DIDNT PLAY GOOD FOR GUESS TO WATCH THST NEEDS TO BE ADJUSTED, AND TRASH SHOULD BE DUMP DAILY OTHER THAN THAT A GREAT PLACE TO STAY

I like the staff snd cleanliness of perty however they need work on TV while television is on to watch you can barely see whats going on. Food was good i would bring prices slighty down depending among meal. Overall I enjoyed definitely will recommend and come back my self

Excellent place

Suitable for our needs

So pleased I had my booking details with me, because they didn't seem to be expecting us! Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Pool area peaceful and pretty. Asked for coffee, which took forever to prepare. Check out time states "Check-out before 11:00 AM" but they were asking for keys back way before this time.

The hotel, though comfortable needs to be updated. The room was spacious and comfortable yet it needed to be more modern in appearance. The tv/ cable needs a lot of work. If you want guests to be comfortable its the little things that count! I will stay again!

Next time the preparation of the must be a bit faster. They told us half an hour lead up to over an hour

This facility is not well maintained. It needs to be fixed and painted.

You never gonna find Verner hotel. Not you not your cab driver. GPS doesn't work there. Im old school i ask local people and the help me. Hotel is 30 minutes walking from Hip streep bur its on the slope and hard to walk there. Hotel is ok itself. I payed $80 i think it is overpriced even in high season.

The property was decent once I actually found it. Was a little frustrated at first due to the address on the Expedia now taking to directly to the property. the receptionist was extremely nice and so was the other staff. I only stayed one night due to other bookings I had arranged but my family enjoyed it. They serve food on sight as well. The number online does not work, the property number is 876-952-8628. Not into lengthy reviews but I want to save future headaches. Overall decent stay and really nice staff. Had to revise review due to naming a staff which was exceptionally nice to me. 1st checkin. All was well. Second checkin. Room we requested was given away. Guve a room thst had no ac, fridge,no towels and limited bedding. It was a late check in staff on hand did their best. Apparently the room was given to owners neice for her birthday.

The wifi was barely functional and intermittent. Restaurant has irregular hours. Place looks like it has seen better days to be honest. Had to go looking for towels on check-in which made me question how well the room was turned over. Mediocre to average overall.

This property was a bit dated but perfect for the overnight stay before heading to the airport the next day. It was quiet, clean and I would stay again.

For the most part I always stay here but this trip was my worse spend time here because of the hurracane there was no power and they should off let you know before they take your money. Spend 6 days here and 2 out of the 6 days no power had to sleep with no light and no ac. They didnt even compansate you with a free night or at least give you part of your money back as a courtesy.

The staff was extremely accommodated

This place seriously has no business in business. From check in to check out, absolutely a Slap Shop. It’s more like an abandoned property that they’re just doing a thing with.

The property needs upgrades with renovations The view is great though.

Stayed one night before a flight back and i have no refrets, the room was nice, clean, beds and pillows comfortable, everything worked...If you seek luxury or modern accommodations this is not it, everything was good but one can see that is a older hotel but by no means is it bad. I had a very pleasant stay again it was one night but i would stay a longer time, maybe the price point could be lower for a 3 star hotel but in all a good stay.

The property was located near to the town. Easy to commute. Using GPS. I drove to the resort so that made it even easier. It's also couple minutes away from the Airport.

I like some views around the property. Like the view on the hill. Needs better transportation around that area. Pool was not fully clean.

Lots of bugs in the room. Gum on the closet door.

Most of the staff was wonderful met the owner and I enjoyed my stay and will book another staying the future

The locals were extremely friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the beautiful gardens around the property. It was a nice stay overall.

It was great environment was up to date, communication and customer service was on point. The only thing I didn’t like was that there isn’t anything to eat or buy to eat nearby. Recommendation Utensils should be added to rooms even if it’s 2 glass a pair of fork/spoon and knives and a microwave.

They do not provide room service unless you ask for it. The food service is very limited and you’re gonna end up eating elsewhere. They don’t even make coffee in the morning for the guests which totally sucks. The one thing I did like about this place though is that the staff is extremely friendly and treated me like family. For all these reasons I think they should just lower their rates.

Property was very clean and quiet.

The photos of the rooms they posted is different from the rooms you see in person the rooms are old ,dirty, hot the shower curtain is so dirty it change color i ask for a fan the young lady give me a dirty fan i was so disappointed would not take an animal to that place it was a nightmare never again.

Nice grounds and pool. 1.2 miles from Sangster Airport. Staff excellent service both day and night. A Great Jamaican breakfast and will also accommodate an English breakfast too. Property in need of updating but ok for a night’s rest. Uber services the address too.

Property looks just like the pictures and Ms Jackie was heaven sent. Everyone on property was very friendly and accommodating.

Hotel stay

For the most part the best thing about being there is the proximity to where the event takes place. One the rooms on the Lower floor was so dirty due to construction on the room next door, the television was has a line running through it was not very easy to see.

The place was alright. I did see some tiny ants crawling near the sink and on the side of the walls in the washroom. I saw some on the edge behind the showers and on the wide table as well. It made me uncomfortable. The people were friendly so there's that. I would recommend everyone to check the rooms before your stay.

For the price and basic accommodations the place was ok, the staff especially a couple of the guys seemed eager to be helpful and the view from the place was excellent. The pool area was kind of the highlight of the place with sweeping mountain and valley views and the pool was very clean & well maintained. TV in the room didn't get working after the receptionist first turned it on it started downloading a program guide but eventually was useless but I didn't come here to watch TV, though I like watching the morning local news with my coffee but unfortunately no one seemed to be attending the coffee maker in this reception room they had and it was messy & unappealing. It's location was decent to walk down the hillside to the center of town & the beach took me only about 15 minutes so if you a quiet peaceful vacation close to town but out of the tourist zone you'll like the place for sure.

It was nice and quiet

I absolutely loved my entire stay here. I got my money’s worth. I felt very safe and the staff was so friendly. Verney House will be my go to from now on! Thank you especially to Sanjay for helping me get food delivered, showing me around the beautiful property and for overall just making my time there enjoyable. Miss Jackie checked me in and she was sweet too! The pool was clean and the little shop next to it had my favorite cheese sticks! 10s across the board I can’t wait to go back!

The staff was great. Without Jackie we would have been lost. The property advertised breakfast and dinner but our entire stay had no substantial food. Snacks were available. Pool was clean. We would stay again but with less expectations.

Great stay!

The only drawback for me was the walk uphill. Breakfast is on-demand and an additional charge. Other meals in the day must be requested in the morning. Tea and coffee are free. Otherwise, we were fine. Small fridge was helpful. Wi-fi was spotty, but we were ok. Just a short walk to the bank and Harmony Beach. Would go back. Would take route taxis to drive me uphill.

I had an amazing time at Verney Resort. I will come back!

Week trip to Jamaica

I had an amazing stay at Verne Resort house that I extended my stay with them twice! The staff was great, the place clean, and the amenities present all the time. I would certainly come back again!

I checked in and paid for 3 adult and 1 yrs old baby receptionist told me I have to pay 20US for the extra person put us in a room with. 1 double bed and 1 single bed I keep showing her my reservation that I paid for 3 adults and 1 yr old baby and she keep insisting that I didn’t pay for extra person so she say she can moved me to another room if I pay 20US more so I did pay and I mention to her that I will have to complain to Expedia and she said go ahead with an attitude. Spoke to Expedia then she come back after 30 minutes and give me back my 20 US and apologize. But the room is not the same way as shown on the picture or advertisement. One of the bed sheet have ripped on the bottom. Fridge is rusty tv is not working properly. The washroom have only half of toilet paper rooms are very out dated.

TV didn't work. No garbage cans. Big room with small air conditioner that blows in your face while sleeping. Small bathroom. Dirty floor. No mirror. Poor lighting such big room. Bulb missing in lamp.

We had one night at Verney House. Easy checkin, clean room, close to the airport. Nice pool for a late night & early morning swim. Walked safely to a nearby restaurant for dinner (about 15 min walk). Would stay again.

Property was as advertised. Price was reasonable for the accommodations and close to the resort we planned to check in the next day.

Priced lower than most tho few signs of any cost cutting Located up in the hills it gives a nice view yet is still close enough for a short ride (walking on road NOT recommended due to traffic) to oceanfront places and activities Nice clean facilities comfy bed working AC and wifi.. Friendlier staff and YES THEY DO HAVE a restaurant and a bar (w nice covered seating area near the pool )tho its hours are limited (Not a bad thing when they have live music)

Excellent hotel , I tried to call but I can't as I have a UK number I came on Saturday 26TH August and left yesterday Wednesday the 30TH august , I left my watch collection underneath the TV to the right in the draw , please contact me via email as I cannot ring or text due to my phone , I really need these watches returned, thanks for the hospitality but please help me in this situation

When we got there it was night, as we were traveling all day. The lady at the front desk was warm and welcoming. She also assisted my friend by lending her a charger as hers was broken. We were hungry after checking in but the restaurant was closed. We decided we'll just wait in the morning to have breakfast, when it was morning the persons in the kitchen said they were not taking orders because they were setting up for a wedding. We were so upset, we left hungry. You should please your guest ALWAYS!

We arrived late - 8 pm and the Agent there at the time made us feel comfortable. He was actually the Security Personnel who was deputizing. He was really friendly and helpful. The water pressure at the Hotel is the best I have ever experienced and this made our bath really outstanding. The only draw back was that the place was not that well lit and appeared to be lonely - not much activity at all. We stayed in our room. The door has a bolt and the windows are grill. Great

Local spot, fairly quiet with very friendly staff. It would be better if cars were not allowed to park up near the rooms and the office at night because somebody’s car alarm was going off early early in the morning disturbing our sleep. Dat nuh nice, man!

Dalton was a great host!

It was close to the city and the customer service was fairly good. However, the ambiance was poor. The ac was broken and the sheets seem unclean.

Peaceful, clean and quiet

I am so happy that I didn’t listen to the previous reviews. I found the property to be pretty clean including my room! I had a small unit fridge a working TV, working AC and access to Hot water! They also have a small snack shop with drinks and smaller snacks however there’s no restaurant on site. They checked me in early gave me the best care ever and my room was very comfortable and cozy. Swimming in the pool and having access to fresh mango trees was an added bonus!

This property needs to knock down a rebuild. What you see online was like when it just opened, to date it looks abandoned. The pool is of no use and the entire area is filthy.
