Many students that are noisy and disrespectful. Running in the corridores and knocking on the doors. It is a circus more than an hotel. I called the front desk and they told me that they will tell them to stay quite. I repeated to them that they were knocking on my room door. They should have been kicked out. I was about to call the police.
Avoid so many better stays elsewhere
Arrived at the hotel to see a queue at reception with people having trouble checking in. Another customer came down to complain he had been waiting 30 minutes for someone to come and help him but no one came. After 40 minutes of waiting we finally got seen and were given our card, we got to the room and noticed we'd been given a room for two people instead of 3, so went back down stairs, we got the key card replaced ( other customer was back down again complaining) and to our shock we were given the key to someone elses room! All their belongings were still in there so this is a massive security risk and made us lose trust in the hotel as they could quite easily give someone else our key card. went back down to reception to complain but they wasn't bothered at all and laughed it off. So check in took over an hour with multiple problems, and they still hadn't been upstairs to help the other customer who was waiting over an hour. The bed was like a rock, you get one pillow even after asking for an extra pillow they say yes but never give you one. Duvet to small for the bed. Toilet seat was half broken and the air con controller never worked properly, said 25 degrees the whole time even though we were selecting 18 degrees. Breakfast avoid! All the hot food is gone by 8 and they don't bring out more, juice is like water. Once it's gone they don't bother making anymore, goes for all food. Hot chocolate isn't drinkable. No English tea. The worst hotel breakfast I've ever had.
The hotel is fine with good amenities and quiet. Great location with super easy access from Metro line 3 right across the street. Rooms were spacious and quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. Checkin was quick and easy. Breakfast was pretty good but some days coffee machines did not all work. No coffee in the room, only tea. Some mornings hot food selection was limited or already gone even though we were there by 8:30. Thank you for a nice stay
Not great
No pillows in the bedroom, room didnt feel clean or bed changed found ramdon sock in the bed & under. Shower room not clean.
Good
Staff: ladies are very polite, men are not, including the boss
Advertised as 4* hotel, hardly fits in 2* rating. Room was dirty, hair on the floor and shower. Stale bakery products for breakfast. Great view on homeless people doing drugs from the balcony.
Bed was not comfortable at all (very hard). Pillows were super small and very old. Bedding and comfort of the sleep is one of the important things to me and if I can rate it separately I would give 1 star. Everything else is good.
Grand City break
overall hotel was very good , however the staff need to learn to be more courteous !.
Lovely stay. Room was a bit small to fit a crib but we managed. Breakfast had lots of options but was incredibly full of people so often there was nowhere to sit.
Huge and comfortable room. Glad I was able to check early. The area around the hotel is a bit run down, though.
There was homeless living in the courtyard of the hotel at the back.
Good stay
Good service and room. Heating was constantly on which made the room really hot at times. Breakfast wasnt good. Overall it gave us all we wanted from the room
Long waiting for check in
Unfortunately we had to wait an hour to check-in since the hotel systems are not accurate and fast. Waiting in a line with many others. The staff was apologising and felt really awkward.
Unpleasant check-in experience
Everything was fine except for have to wait for almost 1 hour to check in at the reception counter…as only one person was working…a bit unpleasant experience for a so-called 4 stars hotel
i like it... reception staff were good , clean room, station near me, but room walls need to be more isolated you can hear the noise out side the room
Relatively OK in the current conditions.
The hotel was almost empty due to the COVID 19 restrictions in Hungary. Therefore, the breakfast was VERY basic. The air condition in the room did not cool. It just worked as a fan.
Was a lovely hotel! Rooms a decent size and veds comfortable! Staff were lovely too. Breakfast was basic but the omlette station was great! My only issue was the adjoining rooms. The rooms are soundproofed unless you share a door with another room! So just request one without :)
It's a yes from me 😊
I was pleasantly surprised with my stay at the Verdi Grand. Check in/out was hassle free with pleasant staff. The hotel was very convenient and situated right across the road from the Klinikak Metro stop. I'd stay again. My only negative is that the rooms are in need of painting.
The bed is hard and the pillows too thin Breakfast was ok The metro is across he street Location is good
Good location next to the metro The area is old bit run down The bed is hard Over all the hotel is worth the money
Everything in this hotel is very good: location, cleanness and front desk staff. I have problem with room cleaning service they ignore the requesting cleaning sign (we had it in the door from 8.00 am to 4.00pm) and waited for us to complain.
Perfect Service
Location very near to metro station Quick check in and out Professional staff Very clean , daily cleaning AC work perfectly Comfortable bed Everything perfect will sure stay at Verdi Grand hotel for my next visits
Great location and price, clean and spacious rooms for a reasonable price. The service left a lot to desire, with receptionists not really interested in the client, processing slowly requests while listening podcasts, while at breakfast it was tired service, with little variety, and waiters intere
There is no Restaurant, Bar and Room service.. Only breakfast.
Convenient location, comfortable room, but ...
This is a fairly new and nice hotel, but there is room for improvement. The location is convenient, right next to a Metro station, and you can be in the city center in minutes. The rooms are comfortable and I liked the firm bed. Some of the staff were helpful, others not so. Housekeeping could be better. Perhaps the weakest part is the breakfast, which is well below what I could expect for a 4-star rating.
I stayed in Room 712 for the last three days. The room has marks all over the walls and there is a big crack in the bottom of the bathroom door frame. This is not great as I paid for a 4* hotel and expect it to be nice. The breakfast was disappointing, cold and didn't have any name tags, this was really annoying as I'm vegetarian and it was hard to know what was what. Lastly, there such a big queue for breakfast on my last day that I did not end up going. There seemed to be a big group booking which caused the delay, this is something that should have been managed by the hotel so as to ensure that other customers are not impacted. The location of the hotel is fantastic though, right opposite kilinikak station which is metro 3 line.
The 24 hours reception was good and helpful in the nights. They helped us book the taxi and all . The breakfast was ok .
Don’t bother staying here.
We were moved here by hotels.com after the owner of our original booking didn’t show up. From the outside the hotel looks really fancy but honestly it isn’t. The bed was so hard and uncomfortable that I didn’t sleep for the 4 days. The whiskey bar was never open in all the time I was there. Breakfast was disgusting and seemed to be occupied by teenagers every morning. The food honestly was revolting, the coffee machine never worked and the only choice was cucumber or ham. The young receptionist girl was helpful and always seemed to be working. In 4 days our tea/coffee/toiletries were never replenished.
New beds but very firm
Very nice, close to metro and supermarket. Beds are very firm and uncomfortable. Mattress cover cushion was not available.
Its very well kept. Beds are super comfortable, shower was amazing.
Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Clean, up to date rooms, with plenty of light and outlets. Decent size bathroom with shower.
shower stand broken, room very small in which our two baggages could not open at the same time.
Worst service at breakfast ever!
Will not go back to this hotel again, I am glad I was alone at this business trip and my colleagues didn't see all of these. Nobody cared about me when I went down to have breakfast, I was standing there for 5 min as all tabled were dirty and could not sit down anywhere. At the end I cleaned the table for myself and bought mat and cutlery as well. All plates, glasses were dirty, coffee, juices were spilled to the floor...nobody cared about it. Also nobody cared when I asked 4 different people to check the coffee machine as there was no coffee beans in it, no milk, so could not prepare a cappuccino. The 2nd day I didn't even go down for breakfast, went somewhere else..even though when I arrived had to pay for it in advance.(in normal hotels where they care about the guest you pay when you lieve the place.) Also nobody cared when I complained about it at the reception....Long story short, avoid this hotel as they are not for the guests!!!
Pretty new property.Good location, nice looking and friendly and helpful staff.
Great!! Really close to the metro and bus station
Simple and elegant design. Staff was very professional. Check in was efficient. Hotel is a good location for visiting the Nagyvárad Tér area including Semmelweis University.
Def not 4 star, basic, good shower but shower tray mould
Recommend elsewhere.
It was listed as a Four Star hotel, far from it, not even close (may have been rates on the Soviet scale). I would say two stars at best. There was no soap and the mattress felt like it was procured from a salvage store.
Nice hotel
I liked the staff in the hotel very nice and friendly. Cleaning could have been a Little bit better I think. The local area is fine. It's close to a shopping mall and nice places to eat. It will take about 40 minutes to reach inner City by foot
Helpful staff, decent room. Good location in the city.
Aircon did not function, Housekeeping did not replace tea and coffee used, had to go down and ask for tea. Second time cups not even washed up and no replacements. Also soap in bathroom was removed and no replacement left! Not the sort of service I expected...
Comfortable
My son and I stayed in a very nice and clean room. It was quiet and comfortable.
Close to Underground station Good location Would stay again
Good location bad execution
Nicely and freshly decorated hotel with minor issues that can be all fixed: (1) Rooms and especially bathrooms not thoroughly cleaned with old items left behind, (2) hotel staff enters rooms without knocking, (3) check-in and check out excruciatingly slow, (4) sower sprays all over the bathroom with no way to stop the water. Good location, though!
The hotel is new and looks impressive from the outside. It is located just across the road from metro line 3 so are soon in central budapest in a matter of minutes. I chose a king room which was lovely and big. Storage was really good and the fridge kept the drinks nice and cold. Sir con was superb although it stayed lit up at night. The bed was so much more comfortable than the one in their alternative apart hotel. The only disappointment with my room was the balcony area which was small and a large privacy screen meant no view but other rooms looked better. The bar and restaurant looked good although did not use them and 2 sets of lifts were ideal. For the money this hotel offers great value in a good location and will definately return.
Staff were friendly especially at reception during checking in. Room was clean. Everything felt brand new in the restaurant. The city center was very easily accessible which made the Budapest trip stress free. The only thing that struck me is after checking in we went downstairs to get 2 Cappuccinos and I walked up to the bar to order them. I was waiting for the coffees while my girlfriend sat down. After paying I realised there was a 200 forints service charge on the bill. Its not much but if I am being charged she could have told me to take a seat while waiting for the coffees to be made.
Good
Good location only a few tram stops from the town centre. Clean and modern! The receptionists could do with being abit more approachable and actually prioritise the customers who they are actually dealing with first rather than help others.
Touristic approach...
Hotel is new with basic things. But charging for 2 aperol spritz in Budapest, 23 euros, we considered it stealing. So don't go to bar there!
Excellent hotel
The hotel is far from the iner city, but you have a metro on the other side of the road so you can get there in 10 minutes. The stuff were very nice and helpfull, the room was cleaned every day. Overall very good hotel will definetly come back next time.
Decent room but thin walls
Never stayed in a hotel with such thin walls. We heard everything from our neighbors. And I mean everything. Hotel is well located and has it’s own parking garage underneath, and room is nice...but if you’re bothered by hearing others, think again. The reception was not helpful either. We called to ask if they had a quieter room, we were told they would call back. No call back. After an hour we gave up.
Good all around
Hotel was pretty good all around. The hotel had a pretty long check in process and some issues at the front desk but the quality of the room and staff was great aside from that.
Modern..Clean..Characterless
This is a strange hotel, please do not misunderstand it is modern, clean, with good rooms and comfortable beds...so what is the problem?...It is one of those things you can not put your finger on but it is characterless..the staff are polite but without having any engagement with the customer the whole thing feels a little robotic. Given the option I will probably not stay here again, Budapest is awash with hotels so will pick another hotel that suits me more. Please do not let this review be off-putting to you I feel this is just a personal thing where the sterile nature of the place does not suit me.
Stay at Verdi Grand Hotel
The hotel was nice, the room spacious & comfortable. Housekeeping could do better with dusting & sweeping. Had to request daily for water & toiletries. Until I just purchased my own. Changed my own linen & towels after a few days & daily emptied my trash. Front desk (some) not so welcoming but helpful when needed directions. Unfortunately, some were not as knowledgeable about getting around the city. Even within close proximity of the hotel. Maybe a language barrier. Not in the most appealing part of town. But literally across the street is the metro & bus stops to get you around the city. If you feel comfortable you could even walk up the street 5 or so blocks to the city center & tourists area. Overall it was a pretty nice stay.
Great hotel, eight next to a metro stop. Helpful and polite stafff. Everything was clean and service was effective .
New Hotel with untrained staff & poor management
This is brand new hotel. The rooms are okay, but smells a lot. I've stayed here for 2 nights, but my sheets and blankets were not tidy. The staff there are terrible. I don't think they have right manager for the hotel. The staff at night seems drunk. He was talking rubbish when I was talking to him. Clearly can smell alcohol from his breath. The hotel feels like it has been made by a very wealthy rich dude, who has no idea about the hotel business and management. Rich guy, who wants to invest his money on something, and thought hotel was easy. I don't think I will ever stay here again.
Abolsutely fine hotel
Everything was absolutely fine. Pros: Lovely staff, easy to check in and out (upgraded one of our rooms due to overbooking) and they arranged a taxi for me. A proper king sized bed, very large and no horrible gap in the middle which is so frequent in Europe. Also a full sized duvet, again, different to what I usually find (often two singles now which is not preferable for me). Good, well working air con. Nice bar open late with friendly staff. Cons: Bed was very hard. Doesn't bother me, but I know it isn't everyone's preference. There was a waterfall style shower head but I couldn't get this to work, although the other shower head found in the shower was good enough with good pressure. I found breakfast very below average for the standard of hotel. No one to greet you, and then a very, very busy set up with not enough selection. Three different stations which is perfectly acceptable, but not enough variety on those stations. Nice coffee. I was there for business and in the hotel for a total of 11 hours so no nothing about the surrounding area.
Hotel Verdi Grand
On the plus side, my room was lovely. Spacious, huge windows letting in plenty of light and a comfortable bed. The bathroom too was well designed with a walk-In Shower. For a 4-Star Hotel, however, there were negatives. The breakfast buffet wasn’t great with the hot food, lukewarm at best. There was only one coffee machine for a Hotel of nearly 200 rooms meaning long queues at times. I was amazed that I was unable to get any food on my arrival in the evening. the restaurant had been block booked and no room service available. Inadequate staffing at Reception again meant long waits. Location is a little outside the main sights (about 20min walk) although there is a Metro Station opposite. . Overall - Room great, services not so good.
Great hotel reasonably priced. Location wasn't in the center however had a mall 10 minute walk.
Great for the price.
This is a new hotel and there are areas of it that are still being constructed, so the building clatter was quite annoying at times. Tea and coffee making facilities were on offer in the room but there was just one tea bag and two coffee sachets, one of which had already been opened. We asked for some milk at the desk and were told we would need to walk 300 metres to the all night store. The room was a good size but the airconditioner was a bit iffy and we couldn't get the room cool. There was a door to the balcony which opened every which way to get fresh air but then of course there were the jack hammers. This will obviously be temporary and sitting outside will be possible. No view of anything but other rooms. The beds were comfy but the pillows were soft and flat. Not happy with the staff, except for one young helpful man, the others were a bit stand offish. Overall we liked our stay at the Verde Grand. Best part....the Metro was just across the road.
New hotel in convenient location
We stayed 2 nights at Verdi during our trip to a few cities in Europe. Hotel is practically new, open in 2017. Convenient location with subway station (Klinikat) just steps away, one get to key places in 15-20 mins . Super clean , friendly and helpful staff. A supermarket nearby, as well as restaurants at Corbin Blvd just a few blocks away.
OK place but would not stay again
Ok place overall. The concierge was quite nice and helpful. Biggest problem with this hotel is cleanliness, the rooms are not cleaned properly, and neither are the public areas. I stayed 9 nights, there were clear and numerous hand smudges on the outside of my door that never got cleaned the whole time I was there. My sheets were never changed during the 9 nights, and there are no "change sheets" or "do not disturb" signs. Even asking reception to tell the cleaning staff to change the sheets did nothing. I know that for a fact, since I had some food stains on the sheets the first day, clear and obvious ones that all the cleaners noticed and never bothered to change. Bed on the hard and uncomfortable side. Wifi was good, no issues there. I did not have the breakfast plan so cannot comment on that. No restaurants in this hotel (not sure how they got 4 stars), but lots of food options 10 minutes walk away in the Corvin Plaza area. Very convenient location across the street from Klinikak metro.
Budapest goodness
Great hotel, convenient as the metro station is a cross the street. Clean and Co for table place to stay in Bidapest
Noisy
Disappointing stay here. If you would like any sleep at all, probably not the hotel for you. Huge groups of students stayed here, resulting in them running up and down corridors screaming all night and then screaming and singing at each other from balconies on opposite sides of the hotel. Expect sleep at around 3am and then to be woken up by building work outside, even on a Sunday morning before 8am. I can’t judge food or drink here as there were never any lights on in the bar or food area so we presumed it was closed. Not entirely sure what the cleaners do in your room, the same cup was left dirty in our room for 3 days straight and bed linen wasn’t changed either. Overall, just don’t bother.
Nice hotel outside a Metro station
Hotel room was cosy and well located. The only issues were that the AC wouldnt work properly so it was constantly like a sauna, but you can get around this by opening the window. Also, the hotel provide tea and coffee in the room but no milk or sugar and said that was not complimentary. All in all, a nice cosy hotel
Close to city centre
It was only a 20 minute walk from the city centre which was easy to get around from, the hotel staff was friendly and the room was up to our standards. The air conditioning didn’t work well as we was sweating in the night after trying to put it on cold mode and end up having to open the window, which then being woken up at 7 by builders across the road.
Nice hotel but a distance from the centre
The hotel was everything we needed for a short city break but it was a good 30-40 minute walk to the main attractions. This was fine in the day but at night we ended up getting a taxi which was only £4-6.
Very comfortable and good location. Reception staff were extremely helpful. Would have been nice if the bar area stayed open a little later.
Very nice hotel
The room and bathroom are very big. The facilities are pretty new and modern. Staffs are really helpful. Right across the underground station and right next to the bus station. Would recommend definitely!
New, quiet and super location to metro
Hotel was very quiet this time of year which was nice. Rooms fairly compact but clean and great for short stay. Bed lovely and big with nice roomy shower. Location of metro opposite meant that travel in and around the city was easy. Would stay there again!
A new hotel that rips you off if not careful!!!
We were there for New Year's. The hotel is out of the center, in an uninteresting area with few amenities, but accessible to the center by metro. It seems quite new, with an eager but inexperienced staff. The room was fine. HOWEVER, WE WERE OVERCHARGED BY OVER $30. THE FINAL CHARGE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABOUT $762 AT THE CURRENT EURO/DOLLAR EXCHANGE RATE, AND I WAS CHARGED $798! A REFUND IS DUE!!!! This is the first time in my long experience with hotels.com that I have noticed an overcharge and insist on a partial refund!!
Dålig service i restaurangen.
Ellers alt bra🤗
Dålig frukost
Me Encantó
Jó ötlet a fürdőszobában a falra szerelt tisztálkodasi szerek (szappan, tusfürdő), de így a testápoló kimarad. Ezt az egyet hiányoltam.
Horror! Azonnali bezárás szükséges!
Subway on the doorstep - good. Breakfast - inferior. The hotel is not worth 4 stars.
Worst hotel ever
Worst service ever. Sharing of hotel rooms with others was not clear at all when booking. Overall impression very bad!
A szoba összességében jól felszerelt, tiszta.
Recommemded
It was a nice stay overall. Friendly staff. Only negative was the breakfast, not a great variety, and being allergic to gluten I couldn't find a lot to eat. Otherwise nice and clean hotel with good location.
Sisäänkirjautumisessa oli paljon ruuhkaa. Huoneessa oli edellisen ruoan jämät jääkaapissa. Vessassa oli käsipaperi loppu. Aamupala aika suppea. Hotelli kuitenkin siisti. Sijainti hyvä. Perus yöpyjälle hyvä.
Parcheggio
Inget område man man vistas i, rätt nedgånget.
A tisztaság kíváló es a zuhanyzó is.
Prima accommodatie dichtbij frequent openbaar vervoer. Vriendelijke en behulpzame medewerkers. Uitstekende kamer (Superior King Room).

good stay
Had really pleasant stay! Everything went well and also location was great :) thanks!

Very good location, very friendly staff and good atmosphere.
