Renovated areas were beautiful!
We were housed in the older buildings on the property. Our room was dark and severely outdated. The bedding was atrocious. The shower was soiled and no cover on the drain hole. The bathtub had a dirt ring around it. The light on the bathroom mirror didn’t work. The one-ply toilet paper was ridiculous! The service in the one restaurant was awful. We had to secure our own water carafe everytime we ate and never received any service while seated. Had to run someone down just to get a mimosa for breakfast. The spa at the hotel is not open so unable to get any spa treatments at the resort. The swimming pools were ice cold and not clean. We paid extra for an airport transfer that did not meet us at the airport so we had to pay for a taxi. We had transfer secured for our departure and the front desk put us on what we thought was our ride only to get to the airport and find out it was another taxi that expected fare to be paid. I asked for a refund of our transfer and still have not received any refund.
Wonderful resort and experience.
Great for snorkeling.
It was sure a wonderful stay. The villa’s just amazing! We had only one problem with the doors inside the villas. The doors do not close properly, and it becomes uncomfortable, for example, when you’re in the bathroom or taking a shower. It would be great if these doors could be fixed.
The beach view is ok but its very rock beach entrance however my stay was great abd the staff was excellent
Great place to relax, unwind. Loved the smaller quieter pool area, perfect for couples without kids. Food was pretty ok nice variety. Bar staff were terrific! There is quite a bit of construction and areas that are a little run down but overall rooms in good order and clean.
The a/c in our room did not work properly so at night it was pretty warm trying to sleep. We informed the front desk several times but nothing was done about it and we werent offered a room change.
The property was recently upgraded and is very pretty. The food was incredible although only one main do I g room they switch options for Buffett often and had great choices. My only criticism would be they could use little more staff. We often got our own drinks at the dining room bc nobody checked on us. Also there was nobody to help with luggage checking out. But great stay overall!
Very nice place with helpful and friendly staff. Good food and nice atmosphere. Loved being able to snorkel right on the property
Overall the week we spent was amazing. The whole family agreed. Will definitely visit again and recommend to others. Food was excellent with the AI package. Everything was prepared fresh. The a la carte wine service was pretty rough. Some better training for the staff in that area is needed. A specialty restaurant would be a nice addition. We have high expectations for food service and they were exceeded in most every case. The newly renovated areas are stunning but the construction was a negative. better things are ahead for next time! The snorkeling reef out front is incredible. A big bonus for guests. On the negative side there is no real beach but that’s typical for reef areas. It’s what prefer and look for. We came to dive and the island didn’t disappoint. The resort staff in all areas were very friendly helpful and efficient. We stayed in the new apartments and enjoyed the more private setting and particularly the quiet infinity pool and bar for it. The modern style of the new apartments is nice but the layout of them is odd and does not work well. Our two bedroom only had one very small toilet by the entry door. The shower area had no toilet at all. Not a great set up for a unit that sleeps 4. Also it had a big well equipped kitchen and dining area. But we didn’t use it because the resort is all inclusive. So that space could have been put to better use (proper bathroom). Tremendous experience. Highly recommended for a luxury dive vacation
Amazing property. Exceptional food The property was fully renovated and it is mind blowing. I couldn’t stop taking pictures of it. Food is the best I have eaten in a resort. Even better than going to restaurants
The plaza is an absolute favorite. Great people and great atmosphere.
Nice place and getting better, good for divers and people look for relaxation, food is fresh and high quality
Food choices are very limited. Nothing to do at night.
Good snorkeling and great bar staff
Marvieni Sommer was amazing! A true Bonairian in warmth and hospitality! She made all our excursions amazing! I wish there were more Bonarian guests so we could experience more of the essence of Bonaire but the staff was amazing and friendly. The place is beautiful and the activities are very fun! We also absolutely loved the steel pans the singer that sang in papiamento! Also we loved the great island music that was played at the bar! We will definitely visit again.
Limited lighting outside after dark
The property is located in a nice neighborhood. You could walk to restaurants, but if you are getting all-inclusive no need. I recommend renting the golf cart and driving to Jibe City, 1000 steps, Flamingo sanctuary. Bring water shoes for the beach entry area. Good snorkeling and shore diving from the property, as well as dive shop on the premises. They are upgrading the property but not intrusive.
We loved the bartenders and the restaurant cooks. We had a great stay
My husband and I had a great time here! We are both English speakers and the staff was incredibly accommodating and would often find someone for us to communicate with if they were unable to help us. The food was great, the pool was gorgeous and the rooms were very comfortable
Wonderful. 3rd trip to the property
The staff and food was excellent The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Diving staff was great. Outside dining and location was exceptional. Some landscape could use more attention.
Staff, food and rooms are beautiful!! I am a scuba diver and dive shop with "Spider" and "Yousef" are the two staff divers I highly recommend. Rent a golf cart and visit the town, especially nice shore diving just south of the resort- list of shore dive sites and a freighter Himmler to dive on. Salt Pier is fun diving too.Chef made food-fantastuc. Visit Gio's I e cream shop has the greatest home made ice cream. Dark rich lactose free ice cream too. I still miss it. LOL.
Everything was Great ! They need to get more beach towels and need to have a easier way to get new/clean ones.
Excellent
One of the best vacation I've ever had. First off the pool area was gorgeous, I stayed here for 6 nights and enjoyed every sunset I could experience. My room was sea view, it was very very spacious and clean although it wasn't the newly renovated but I couldn't complain because I wake up every morning to an amazing view. The staff at the snack bar Carlos, Nigel and the other buffed dude was always nice, the restaurant staff has already recognized and address me my name after two days which shows the service here is excellent. After all it's an all inclusive restaurant and the food from breakfast, lunch and dinner did not disappoint. The property was sparkling clean, you can see how every employee works hard to keep this place beautiful. I rented a golf cart which is probably the best decision I made since the property is in the middle of everything, you go left it's the town center, you go right it's the airport and gorgeous beach. I'll be coming back soon and I'm definitely staying here again, hopefully the gym will be open by then. Kudos to all Van Der Valk employees, ya'll the best!

First time to Bonaire and stayed at this resort for a week. Overall, it was a great trip. Only downfalls were the bed wasn’t great…wasn’t a mattress, more like a 4” pad. There was construction going on in the room next door which started most mornings by 7-7:30am. The food was ok at best…ended up having the majority of our meals in town which were all delicious. On the plus side, it’s a beautiful resort and very clean…always groundskeepers out and about, security and staff were super friendly, the resort is about a 20 min walk to town. Beaches were gorgeous, snorkeling was amazing, and had an incredible time exploring the entire island!
The Plaza Resort was beautiful. Great location right on the water for fabulous snorkeling/diving. The property was clean and everything (e.g. AC, TV, WIFI, plumbing, electric/outlets, etc...,) worked properly. The hotel staff are amazing, multilingual, friendly and helpful in every aspect(it's their job to make sure you have a great stay and they take their job seriously). The all inclusive food and drinks were also high quality/top notch/very tasty (although top shelf liquor is not included). The beach and pools were clean and beautiful. Lots of things to do, activities and tours offered onsite at hotel. Airport transportation arranged through hotel. Quite simply one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at while on vacation!
Quiet and didn’t have to fight for lounge chairs.
Great property that is under renovation and changes. Just know that below booking. Toucan is excellent to have for onsite diving and just great all around. As for dining there is a general lab of allergen information, as almost evening just states the name of the dish, except for one small area labeled Gluten Free (3 dishes and one bread set out). For those with allergen issues you have to wait until one of the staff who cooks let's you know what is safe at each meal
A lot of flies at the eating area, Staff isn’t accommodating.
The overall is not bad but the premises need some love. For exemple the rooms are bit up too much for the price, the beds at the beach are disgusting and the some areas inside the property just look abandoned. The new restaurant is beautiful but unfortunately they prepare the food so quick that everything you need to send back to be cooked more.
It is a beautiful property, but is in the process of undergoing renovations. The room we stayed in was in the older section and while it was well maintained, it did show its age, was blandly decorated, and needed more conveniences, such as hooks and luggage racks. The balcony was beautiful and huge(room for a lounge chair or hammock-which would have been awesome had one been out there) with a lovely view of the marina.
Loved this resort! Clean and well manicured
Great for diving. Hotel room need upgrade. Food was ok. But asked to check out at 11 am instead of 10 am due to flight at 3 and they said it’s $25 an hour extra. I won’t return there.
Great scuba diving within 50 yards of property. Good food. Great Bar. Nice room. Great Value. Food & drinks included. Next to airport. etc. etc.
Superb location and high standards in a quiet and peaceful environment. We very much appreciated our stay: Food and service are excellent, the dive shop (Toucan) on location is a great plus, and the House Reef is beautiful / a pretty unique advantage of this place. It's a quiet place (discrete background music at the bar/restaurant/pool) and I hope they preserve the quiet nature of this resort.
No help with luggage after check-in. The parking lot is a fair distance from the rooms and we had bulky dive bags that had to be lugged upstairs. Safe battery immediately died, but they were too busy to fix it. I had to go to the desk to get master key. The A/C isn't strong enough for the room. Can't close bathroom windows.Everything is a hike from the rooms. All in different directions. Only one restaurant, and it has no breeze. Breakfast was good. The bread is great. One bar, at the pool and the staff is horrible and slow. They made horrible drinks. The dive op, Toucan Diving, packs too many divers on boats that aren't really set up for diving. Oh, and we got diarrhea and COVID. We won't go back.
Air conditioning in the rooms is inhumane, hot, and unbearable. Smoking/vaping around the pool, little children go to the bathroom in the pool not wearing pampers, uncaring staff/language barrier, no gym and minimal/low level classes, no shuttle to town (taxis expensive), lack of activities, and construction noise. Positive: Restaurant staff and food, location, safe, snorkeling on site, drinks and pool. Bring a snorkel mask from home, as they charge $10 a day. We would NOT return.
We would for there to be more workers at the beach club for faster service. There were guests that were helping cleaning the area up because there was only 2 people working while all the rooms were totally filled up. There was not even places for us to book another room that we wanted. That was very disappointing and not great at all for the staff that are working in the heating sun.
The staff is very friendly. Only food really available in a buffet unless you want pool food. No convinces located on the property or within walking distance. Old AC units that are not strong enough to cover the room.
We loved the new bar. The bar tenders were excellent.
it was a great location right on the beach.... the water was crystal clear and snorkel and diving available with ease.... staff was helpful and pleasant.... would recommend this resort and would return to it if we return to Bonaire
Resort is renovating and building a new lobby, reception area which will be beautiful. No noise heard from renovations. Excellent snorkeling & diving from the shore. Bring go pro or underwater camera- amazing marine life One of our rooms had significant mold in the closet, beach towels only at reception, so walking back & forth was annoying, especially when they frequently ran out of towels. Front desk could care less Beach is small, rocky upon entry and coral close to shore; water shoes needed Staff in general are not overly friendly, especially as Americans & especially if not diving, drinking a lot or tipping. The managers of beach bar & the 1 restaurant are very nice & helpful, but beach bar very short staffed so long waits for drinks & food at beach bar was limited & regularly out of stock. Only 1 restaurant which was okay, but 1 night was a la carte with only 2 choices, neither of which were good. Guests should not only have been notified, but should not have to go out to eat at an all-inclusive! Simply have some pasta & marinara or pizza or sandwich/salad bar on those nights.
Great trip to Bonaire
Our stay at the Plaza Beach and Dive Resort was overall really good. We have been to the resort before and there have been significant updates to the resort itself. The room we stayed in however, had not been updated. The room itself was extremely large, which made it difficult for the small AC unit to cool the room to our liking. After speaking to other guests, this seemed to be a common issue in their rooms as well. The diving and snorkeling off the beach at this resort is awesome, although it is in the "red" zone due to coral disease. However, we saw different varieties of fish, turtles, an eagle ray, and octopi. Service was really good and the food at the daily buffet was plentiful.
Reception staff less friendly, the pool bar staff and kitchen were great
The resort has great access to the water for snorkeling or diving. The pool is well laid out and clean. They spray for bugs which keeps the areas misquito free - yet thaere are no unpleasant smells. There are spots on the walkways that are chipped and covers that are missing. The layout of the restaurant is such that some of the tables do not get the through breeze and so are uncomfortably hot.
We stayed a week in the beginning of May with my brother and wife and had fantastic time. My brother and wife dive and we snorkel, which was better than expected. Lots to see right off the beach. Food was great and plenty to choose from. Rooms need some work but are huge and clean. They are almost ready to open brand new rooms and lobby, so they keeping up with the times.Overall a great vacation.
I like that this property is small, easy to navigate, all employees were friendly, helpful, courteous, kind and knowledgeable. The food was quite good, and the theme nights fun. Even though it was fully booked, it didn't feel overcrowded. Our room was very comfortable and we liked the location on the second floor with a pool/ocean view. The pool is beautiful and I like that there is not any chlorine in it. I appreciated the filtered tasty water and the water bottle. The only improvement for me would be fresh brewed coffee, not a fan of instant or the specialty coffee machine. We were able to walk to town and enjoy some local fare and support the local businesses. Plaza Beach could use a boutique for some shopping for me. I look forward to returning to this resort and bringing more friends with us. I saw that they really treated the divers well and was impressed by this. Having 18th Palm site here was also a plus for me as I am an avid snorkeler and I love being able to walk right in from the beach to snorkel when I feel like it. The outside Palm bar was fun and run well. The property is well taken care and was evident every morning. So keep moving forward with the plans for the future and we will gladly come back. Thank you again for the hospitality, We Love Bonaire.
I love the fact you can walk into the beach and snorkel right away for hours. Many interesting day trips. I suggest the compass evening cruise and snorkel trip. Its a quiet friendly smaller resort. Walk to town in ten minutes. All the staff are friendly, helpful, and work hard for tourists. The food at the restaurant I feel is top notch, always such a variety for anyone's tastes.
This was our second time staying at Vander Valk. Absolutely love the property, staff is so friendly and helpful. It’s a wonderful location, we go for diving, and whether going north or south from the city it’s centrally located. I hope to go back to Bonaire again in a couple years and this would be my first choice of where to stay.
This hotel is the definition of serenity. The view from the ocean side rooms looks like a postcard. The facility isn't glitzy and overly fancy but absolutely perfect for a charming, relaxing stay. The grounds are big enough to get exercise but small enough to easily find your way around. There is a beach large enough to accommodate all guests. We never had an issue finding a chair or sunbed. Swim shoes are a necessity!! The water is calm and beautiful but very rocky. The hotel and is quiet and safe. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Definitely not a party hotel. Most guests are 50 which was perfect for our demographic. The staff is multilingual. Many guests speak Dutch. Its a 20 minute walk into town. We felt absolutely safe making that trek. The food was very good. They had a variety of offerings at every meal. The restaurant staff was wonderful. I highly recommend spending your vacation at this charming, relaxing hotel.
What we liked: The hotel rooms were large and comfortable. The food was average to good. the staff was great. The pool is beautiful and has terrific beds around it. What we didn't like. The hotel is undergoing construction in various areas, especially at the pool, which was of often noisy at the pool. Other than diving, there is not much to do. Snorkeling is problematic because of the windy weather.
Everything was just great..We will go back for sure. The snorking by the hotel was great. Food was great and the staff was so nice.
Conveniently located. Was there primarily to dive. The buffet meals were a plus not having to worry about parking downtown and looking for a place to eat. Used the onsite dive center to rinse equipment and hang gear. Food option was limited, but again, only there for diving. The walls could have better insulation to minimize noise. Once all remodeling is done and repairs made, should be back on top of places to stay in Bonaire.
Black mold on the ceiling of our room. Snorkeling was great! Food was very good. I would goback.
Very happy with features of all-inclusive, which is breakfast and lunch and dinner with buffet and freshly prepared options. Also snorkeling gear is included in the all-inclusive. The pool area and beach area and poolside bar were great, with many beach chair and cabanas available. Highly recommend.
The hotel is beautiful, with great access to the sea and a dive area right off your beach. I would say it's a bit of an age difference with travelers. Most of the people are from Holand and have been coming to this hotel for 25 years. If your looking for bit more lively place, maybe try a different resort. This one is geared to the 65 crowd.
Wonderful resort, staff and amenities were amazing. The breakfast buffet was incredible every day. Location was ideal for getting around the island. We went for the driving and it’s centrally located to get to sites both north and south of Kralendijk. The only complaint was a room had obviously not been updated for a time, the doors to the bathroom and toilet would not close properly. But we were OK with that given everything else.
I was very impressed with the hotel. The snorkeling was fabulous right in front and 3 steps into the water. The staff were out of the way friendly. We had a good size room and comfortable beds. The food was ample and tasty with many choices. We enjoyed the beach bar service. My only fault with the place was the shower with no privacy. I will definitely return.
This was our third stay at the Van der Valk Plaza. They seem to be putting more energy into expanding the resort than maintaining the existing resort. The appearance of the buildings are rather sad and in desperate need of paint and upkeep. We did have issues with our electricity going out due to a leaking air conditioner above us (as well as our own a/c leaking). We also got locked out of our room for about 45 minutes when the battery in our door lock needed replacing. Several of the palapas are in need of repair. There is not enough shaded beach areas close to the bar. In order to find shade if you do not reserve a palapa before 8:00, you have to to go the other end of the resort which is far away from the only bar. The centrally located bar has been removed. Food was great. Staff was great. I am concerned about the ability to accommodate a larger capacity the expansion will bring without impacting ability to enjoy the restaurant, bar, and shaded beach lounging. Not sure if we will be returning to this resort.
We typically never stay poolside at an ocean front resort, however, this pool was too much fun to ignore! The beds available around the pool were so comfortable, we easily tanned and napped in the beautiful sun.
All was wonderful! Marco greeted us and checked us in! He was sensational! Staff was terrific! Quincy, in the restaurant, along with the waitresses were spectacular! We felt like family the whole time we were there and we stayed for 2 whole weeks. When it was time to leave, we didn't want to depart from our new friends and environment! God bless you all!
Staff, location food and the spacious room. Everything was good.
Plaza has a great beach and a new pool that transforms the outside area, but the rooms are very dated and the all inclusive meals are below average. Still a good place to visit .
Best resort on Bonaire. Great private beach, new pool is great, excellent dive shop and I'm excited about the upcoming improvements.
Good: Welcome refreshments and resort tour. Pool seating area was unique, Pool was great.Bit cold. No high rise buildings. Marina and Ocean combo. House-reef/snorkeling Dive center Food Drinks above average. Service personal great. Not so good: Lack of foliage Often only 1 restaurant available. Construction blocking view. Outdoor seating from room not comfortably. Towels, some were wet/stained upon receipt, should be 2 towels each and poolside/beach. HOUSEKEEPING was below average.
There was great snorkeling right off the beach of the hotel, and the rooms we stayed in were very close to the water. One of the rooms we stayed in had a few minor issues such as a leaking AC unit and a broken door handle, but the rooms were large, comfortable, and modern. The breakfast buffet was very good as well.
Where do I start.... 1. The property is extremely outdated. They are doing some renovations but honestly this place should be shut down so they can 100% focus on renos. 2. I paid for all-inclusive and the hotel was constantly out of basic foods I asked for like a banana, butter, pizza. I was told to go to the grocery store and buy myself my own food. What is the point of all-inclusive if I have to buy and cook my own food? 3. A water pipe burst due to construction and we couldn't have access to any water. No washing our hands, flushing the toilet. How did the cooks cook with no water? Very unsanitary. 4. Food names are "healthy sandwich" and "snack". Can someone please tell me the ingredients to the food being served? Is this chicken? Vegan? Vegetarian? Beef? Steak? No one knew what the food actually was. For all I knew, the 'hotel' served us cat and dogs to eat. 5. They have an activity sign with activities and themed dinner nights. Well the sign said BBQ night was Wednesday. Guess what that was wrong and BBQ night was a totally different night. Terrible communication.. 6. There is no functionality to the bathroom. A man must have designed this. Mold everywhere and the corking was ripping away from the tiles. 7. Casino has no-smoking signs everywhere, yet you allow everyone to smoke. Either enforce the sign or take it down. Stop with the mis-communication. 8. Positives: some staff was nice. Please shut this place down and re-open after your $50M reno is over.
Dilapidated hotel in a nice location.
Hotel is dilapidated and I dire need of a fresh coat of paint. Luckily it’s currently being renovated so you will get to experience construction and all that fun stuff during your stay. With all the other options available on Bonaire I suggest going elsewhere and waiting until renovation is completed. Furthermore the front desk staff is not very competent. First they double charged me for my room and then issuing a refund, somehow they refunded a card that I do not own, meaning I had to go back and deal with the problem in person, wasting my vacation time. Go somewhere else.
The off beach reef was very nice. We had a few issues with one of the outlets.
Needs to be updated. Rooms and grounds were worn and needs repair. Dingy.
Good Shore Diving with tanks always available. Boat Diving & Staff at Toucan Diving on site were excellent. Fast Boat. Large comfortable Rooms with the Premium Suites, and the All inclusive Dining was very good. Great Restaurant right on the water. Beautiful Sun Sets.
Just didn't like they were doing construction and we were roomed in the middle of it. On the positive side looks like its gonna be a great addition
Overall resort was perfect. Everything was up to standard and upgrading is currently in progress.
The food was good nothing special Snorkeling right on their beach was great The staff was great very helpful Bar was included and a lot of fun No entertainment at night Rent a car for a few days you will enjoy it
Everything easily accessible, great Resort. Dive Operation excellent. Wonderful Reef, 18 Palms teeming with Sea Life.
The location was right in the centre of everything. The staff were friendly and the whole resort(like all of Bonaire) was relaxing and mellow.
My last rodeo with Hotels.com
Never been to Bonaire and selected this hotel because of the beach and pool. Well that pool was a construction zone and the hotel wasn't even close to the description Hotels.com has posted. We paid for an ocean view and ended up next door to the construction and our view was the backside of the bar and NOT the ocean. The manager was kind enough to show me how they informed Expedia but evidently someone other than the hotel dropped the ball and we experienced a horrible stay in a construction zone. If you haven't used Hotels.com allow me to share how they operate when you call to get things fixed. First of all it's a lot of waiting and switching you from one operator to another. So after two days and many hours of my vacation spent on the phone they finally tell me it's the hotel's fault. So they conveniently try to blame the hotel to get themselves off the hook with you. The only problem with that is that I could have easily booked the room through the hotel and they were indeed informing their guests of the renovations but I booked through H.com and THEY are the only ones I'm interested in doing business with. In the end, they offered $60 off the price of a very expensive 5 day stay...pfff. Then the manager offered $150 which was still not even close to reducing the price to what level of hotel we actually got. So much for being a silver member. Bottom line is H.com still made their profit but made me pay! They were not at all interested in fixing the problem.
Everything was good only missing the pool Food was okay drinks was good
Good
Nice place, staff was helpful except for the one person (reason for the review score). But overall room was nice and great view. Did not eat at resort, so not sure about the food.
Old Glory with TLC in progress.
Needs lot of TLC. Old glory of past. Spacious rooms and sprawling property. Now improvements are being made and that will bring it back to life. Adequate service and good food.
WE WOULD RETURN TOMORROW, IT WAS JUST SPLENDID! EVERYONE ON THE STAFF WERE SUPER FRIENDLY NOT BECAUSE THEY HAD TO, IT IS JUST BONAIRE HOSPITALITY!
We were there to dive and it was great. The resort was very accommodating. The dive shop was on site. Our all inclusive was so nice after a day of diving. The staff went out of there way to make sure we had all we needed.
The kindest people in an amazing location!
The free shuttle took us to the resort! It was right next to the airport! We were greeted with fresh juice, a map, and two beach towels. The room was large, and when I locked our safe accidentally it was unlocked for us in five minutes. The snorkeling fee was 25 bucks but was so worth it for casual snorkelers! The on property reef was kinda grey but the fish were beautiful. Serious diving service is available. Tons of marine life. The room wast spotless or modern but was doable. 2 Separate comforters which was kind of odd but comfortable enough. Only disappointment was that the Wi-fi was spotty in our room. I recommend the all inclusive package to save money on food and drinks at the awesome beach bar. We made friends with the kind bar-tender! We had breakfast there and the food ranged from good to great, and we saw a crab, birds, and two iguanas right next to us as we ate by the beautiful sea! The staff was the nicest I have ever met and our waiter was the happiest and purest guy ever. We were driven in a golf cart to the front of the hotel and they even helped us print out our plane tickets when we realized we couldn't check in online! They called a taxi for us because the shuttle schedule didn't line up with out flight, but we had a wonderful time!!! The nicest people on earth willing to go out of their way for you!
Great location and nice property. Easy access to the private beach and very nice amenities. We will most definitely stay here again.
Great beach and centrally located (fairly close to town but felt somewhat secluded). Didn't know that the pool was out of commission when we booked. Not having the pool was disappointing and the fact that ~ 1/3 of the beach area was under construction was inconvenient. It will be very nice when completed.
This property was old and run down we were very disappointed in our stay, however the dive shop were excellent and lifted up our spirits. Rugan who worked for the dive shop was a great help and friendly
Loved the all inclusive option. The dive shop right on property, with a staff that was awesome!!! Everyone was super friendly!
Water surrounds the property. Marina on one side and ocean front on the other. Sea turtles in the lagoon.
Excellent Reef to Dive on right at the Resort. Nice Beach with new Beach Chairs in abundance. Karge Pool. Good choice to eat & drink at the All Inclusive, and wonderful restaurants downtown in Kralendijk. 3 minute drive from Plaza Resort. Or within walking distance.
On the island of BonAire, the Plaza Beach resort is charmed with its rare and excellent sprawling beachside property. The easy access to the water for snorkeling and diving made it a great choice. Breakfast was excellent but after that the restaurant merely covered the basics for lunch and dinner. Rooms are fairly large ( we had the grand suite on the ocean) and provide easy access to the best part of Bonaire, the lovely ocean! Nice breeze all day long really kept you cool considering the steady 85 degree days. We’d stay at the Plaza again!
Beautiful grounds, pool and ocean access... not as dive friendly as other places as there were rinse tanks near shore, but no gear storage that we found with resort being very spread out and far from parking. Not great for divers, but nice for families and snorkeling.
The resort is started to show some age. The pool area, bar, and general facility. This was our second stay at the resort. The Coconut Crash Bar needs improvement from drink selection to service. There were too many instances of customers standing around waiting with only one bartender. A bar back would be helpful loading and unloading bar supplies. Toucan diving on site was great as always. The dive masters are attentive and make safety a priority. The food was very good with a nice selection for breakfast , lunch and dinner. We really enjoyed the beach barbecue. I highly recommend the premium oceanfront suites. Nice balcony and view. Air con worked great and free WiFi service. We rented a scooter on site for the week and it was a simple process. Nice way to explore the island. I would return, but may wait a few years to see if any upgrades are made to the resort first.
Very nice accommodations everyone on the staff was nothing but friendly and professional.
Quiet and clean ......................................................................................
Location was fantastic. Large room with good air conditioning
The food was great. The property had the best snorkeling out of all resorts we've stayed at compared to aruba, the Bahamas, Jamaica or Mexico. We saw turtles, eels, giant lobster, puffer fish and much more right on th property! The staff was friendly. They are process of updating rooms and some ground areas, so some areas were a bit outdated, but it didn't bother us. The grounds are still beautiful. There was no construction noise or any of that going on. It's close to the airport and conveniently located away from the downtown area. Our one and only complaint were the pillows. The mosquitos were terrible here, but the resort can't really do anything about that. These little complaints wouldn't stop us from returning and as a matter of fact, we may return again this year! Would definitely recommend.
