Very friendly and accommodating staff. Beds were comfortable and located in a really nice spot in HCMC.
The hotel is family owned and operated, and well taken care of. The facilities are new and very clean. The breakfast at the rooftop level is plentiful and the ladies who cook the breakfast are so kind. The receptionist Annie was always greeting us with a smile when we returned from a day out; she is a lovely girl to chat with. I had a wonderful stay and will choose to stay here again in the future.
Beware! This hotel is a scam from top to bottom!
It's our first trip to HCMC so we requested for the transportation from the hotel BUT we're brought to a DIFFERENT hotel under the SAME name(only noticed later). They checked us into a very small 3pax room and told us the room which we had booked(4pax room) weren't available. We're very dissatisfied with the room so we requested to stay in the room that we booked. They insisted they didn't have that room and that we MUST stay in the small room. The guy said there's a 90% chance of us getting our room the next day which we did get BUT not after pushing our luggage from Hong Vina(not what we booked) to Hong Vina Luxury(the one we booked) which is 2 blocks away. Both hotels look almost identical so it's really easy to mix up for a first timer to HCMC.On the day that we checked out, they NEVER refunded the room price difference for the first night AND the staff accused us of drinking a can of beer from the fridge! Please be very careful if you do plan to stay here for they are really professional in LYING and making up EXCUSES! The staff may look friendly since they are always smiling but once you speak up for your rights, they'll just say nonsense and give LAME excuses."To make our guests happy, we give free ride to the airport!" That's what the guy said when we insisted on getting the room which we booked AND paid in advance. Such a shame for the quality of their service for the family room which we initially booked is really big and comfortable and the location is not too bad.
Hong Vina Luxury Hotel in HMC
Clean air conditioned room in a quiet area of Saigon. The staffs were friendly and very helpful. We paid extra $25 for late checkout at 6 PM. Pretty decent breakfast selections but the breakfast area located in the roof of the building was very hot.
Don't stay there unless you have to it is not the best way from ot we regret staying. Cannot give any recommendations for this hotel plenty of good ones near by.
Good stay
It was clean and roomy. Staff are friendly and responsive to your requests. However, the breakfast was not. Also, it was a small hotel.
Nice hotel, excellent location, but read review
As an Inn-Keeper of two (soon to be three) properties myself, I believe my review below is well balanced and takes in to consideration cultural differences. Please note that I stayed with friends, so we booked two rooms. Here's my honest review: Positives: 1. Clean rooms 2. Comfortable beds 3. Extremely friendly daytime staff (they always open door and greet you) 4. Location 5. Motorcycle parking Negatives: 1. If you're sensitive to noise, you may have some challenges; room on first floor is right outside reception. Room on 7th floor is next to dining room (where breakfast is served); I personally stayed in both rooms and my friends stayed on 3rd floor. Beyond that, cleaning people tend to talk or yell loud to each other in hallways. 2. Hot water is problem. There's plenty of it, but the showers are either cold or very hot; you will get burned. They need posi-temp (like Moen brand or others) valves installed. 3. Night security boy (who doesn't speak english) gave conflicting information. When a friend visited me, I was told he could not park his motorcycle. Front desk person in morning said that he can. 4. Night security boy also told me I couldn't enter/exit after 1am; this as also clarified the next day. 5. Breakfast is very basic and one thing they could do to improve it substantially, is provide butter. Westerners don't usually eat bread without butter or perhaps jelly/honey. Coffee is like mud. 6. Watch-out for overcharges for water, etc.
Transfer of accomodation
Upon arrival, were told Hong Vina Hotel under some major work and water is not available. Was moved to Thai Binh Hotel & Apartment and made to walk with 3 suitcases for a distance 600m through the uneven and busy road. Thai Binh is a run down Hotel were all items in Apartment is bought through 2nd hand used dealer. Stained bedsheet and duvet which we almost decided to check out and look for better Hotels nearby. Noisy and door banging sound can be heard through out day and night. I am not in favor of walking the corridor or the escape stairwell as it looks creepy. I assumed that Hong Vina Luxury will be much of different compare the Thai Binh Apartment & Hotel despite they belong to the same Hing Vina group.
Stayed in their sister hotel
I had booked the Hong Vina Luxury for 3 nights but they were fully booked and only had a room on the ground floor which they said would probably be noisy and the window didn't have a view so they offered me a room at their sister hotel about 5 minutes away. This room had a great view of the market area so I decided to take it, I didn't inspect it in great detail otherwise I would've probably refused. The room is very old and smelt of smoke although I didn't notice this until the second day because they had used a very strong fragrance oil the day I checked in, presumably to mask the cigarette smell. The walls were chipped and the tap in the bathroom seemed like it was ready to break away from the sink. The shower was full of hairs. I had a nightmare flight so by this point I was too tired to complain. I enjoyed the view and the bed was comfy which is why I decided to stay.
barely acceptable
rooms are not clean. breakfast is a joke. only one stuff member can communicate in english. overpriced for the quality
The hotel is clean and overall comfortable. Definitely recommended for family or single traveller.
Spacious, Clean, Comfortable at a Great Price
Very spacious, clean, comfortable room for the price. Good price. Walkable to the national art museum.
Thai Binh Hotel close to food and shopping
The hotel didn't have a room we booked for so they put us up at a sister hotel within walking distance. Very nice staff and spoke English well at the Thai Binh hotel we stayed at. We had a humongous room with 2 bedrooms and a combo kitchen, dining, and living room. Walking distance to the Street Food Market and Benh Thanh Market for shopping.
Not worht the price.
Hotel was just OK. Not much to choose for breakfast. Rum was clean but hotel needs to be refurnished.
Location good
Spent 2 nights here in an apartment. Location was very convenient but major building works nearby made walking difficult
Great location, fair price
Nice Hotel for the price (approx. 35$) per night.
Bait and Switch - no good.
Not happy at all. Our first stay here at Hong Vina Luxury Hotel was perfect but on our second stay here for a day before leaving Vietnam we had booked a room for a family of 4 but we got transferred to a different hotel (Thai Binh of same group) which was poor in quality. Although we were given a suite with 2 rooms instead of a one room with 2 double beds, this suite is outdated. No ventilation in the bathroom. We found hair on the pillows and bedsheets. Complained to the front desk and requested new sheets. Manager was not willing to but finally we had what we requested for. Breakfast was available but quality not so great. I checked Hotels.com this hotel has lower rates than Hong Vina Luxury. So that means Hong Vina Luxury overbooked and transferred us to another hotel with lower rates and still made a profit. So travelers be careful.
Nice hotel, staff were above helpful.
Was a great time. Helped us organise the group tour we did during the day and was very well cleaned and nice breakfast in the morning
Nice Clean Hotel with Friendly Stuff.
Nice Clean Hotel with Friendly Stuff. There is also a Fridge in the Room but unfortunately no Safe.
Great location with friendly and helpful staff.
Very spacious and clean room stocked with everything you need. Staff is quick to help with andything that may be needed.
Easy access to places such as ben thanh market, the sinhtourist tour agent etc. Has many eateries nearby, cheap and good foods.
GOOD location
Clean, big room and staffs are friendly and helpful. We are taking night flight, they allow us to take shower after we checked out hotel
Couples vacation trip
The room was very warm when we got there but they were nice about moving us to another room so we could get some sleep. Unfortunately, the breakfast menu was missing a lot of the options. The location is great for the sights and walking distance to the restaurants of the backpacking district.
Big room, away from noise, clean
The room was big and spacious. Toilet was clean. Front desk staff was very helpful. Very good experience overall. The hotel is walking distance to ben tanh market but away from the noise. Street gets quite dead after 12, if you like the quiet. Only issues were; 1) Breakfast was very minimal. no buffet, just a set meal. 2) WiFi died on the 3rd night of our stay for about 8 hours till the next morning.
Good location but pay a bit extra and go elsewhere
I'm going to be honest I didn't enjoy my stay here. We were placed on the 7th floor - 6 floors in the lift, the final flight you walk up. The room is the only one on this floor and opposite the dining area meaning that we were woken up early to the sound of pans banging as the kitchen staff started work. The room itself was ok but the bed was horrendous to sleep on - it offered no support and was the worst of our trip. There was no complimentary water provided and the shower had no heating or power. Breakfast supposedly is an optional menu though I was not given a choice and just given a plate. We were told we could come back before our evening flight for a shower but weren't made aware we could have just had a late check out from our room like others did. When we we returned we were let in to another guest's room who had checked out as we were waiting, so that we could shower...it was not pleasant or particularly hygienic. The area is close to the sights of Saigon and near the Ben Thanh market but unfortunately I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it. As they say you pay for what you get....
Clean, efficient hotel in HCM City
Hotel is comfortable if basic. Central location, but if you don't like crossing major streets in HCM City, find a hotel closer to Ben Thanh market. Otherwise this is a nice stay that's about a 20 minute walk to the Ritz Hotel area and nearby malls. The breakfast is simple but it's all you need to start your day. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would highly recommend this hotel to someone looking for a good value on a budget travel.
Great spot in town
The best part of this hotel was the friendly staff who were so welcoming at the end of long days. They made booking tours very easy as well.
Extremely large room. Comfortable beds
We flew in at 3am looking for a quiet COOL large room - Hong Vina was perfect for our young family of 4. Beds were comfortable although all pillows were a bit HIGH. Room was clean but maintenance was poor quality as bits were falling off the wall. The bathroom was fine and we LOVED the large room! Close walking distance to Ben Than Mkts and McDonalds for the kids.
Overall a very good hotel
Room was clean and spacious with ample storage. Big windows to allow natural light to come in so it doesn't feel claustrophobic. Bed was comfortable. Staff were really attentive and helpful. Hotel is within walking distance to Ben Thanh Market and other major attractions but with the hot and humid weather of HCM, walking can be quite challenging. Taxis though are easy to find in the area. Few things that can be improved are breakfast options and noise coming from the kitchen esp in the morning. Our room was located one floor below but woke up due to loud banging of pot & pans.
Awesome hotel with friendly staff
Strongly recommend this hotel! The staff here are so friendly and helpful. Always welcome us with a big smile and make us feel at home. One of the staff even provide us an umbrella as there was heavy rain at that time. The room are very spacious and clean. It is very quiet at night. A bit far from pham ngu lao area. Overall a very good stay in Vietnam and will definitely stay here again on next visit.
Happy Ho Chi Minh
Very helpful staff. Handy situation. Wifi very weak in bedrooms.
Beyond Excellent!
Promptly picked up at the airport upon landing and shuttled to the right hotel at 145 Ky Con Street instead of its sister hotel at Calmette Street. Check in was fast and the family room with 2 double beds was EXTREMELY SPACIOUS. Room had all amenities EXCEPT for tissues. Bathroom shower had no shelvings for placing your shampoo, so you'll have to place those on the floor. 2 staff manning the reception couldn't understand English at all, 1 could understand basic English vocabulary, and the remaining 1 had excellent conversational English. Nonetheless, the guys were helpful, proactive and always donned a smile on their face. The breakfast area albeit inviting was very cramp when guests gather for breakfast. Waiting time can get quite long as well (up to 40min). Try to avoid the 7am to 8am peak period. Variety was reasonable but don't expect brilliant food. Laundry is available and rates are extremely low! The most expensive item on the list being 9000 VND (below 1USD). Turn around time varied between 12hrs to 24hrs. Hotel was near to Ben Thanh Market and taxi to nearby areas (within 5km radius) was always below 4-5 USD. For guests looking for day trips to Mekong Delta and Cu Chi Tunnels, the hotel can set you up with private tours between 30-40 USD per pax. If you don't mind a group tour, located 10min away on foot is the famous Sinh Tourist Travel Agency offering the same itinerary at prices between 7-10 USD per pax. All in all, I highly recommend Hong Vina Luxury!
Nice hotel inside
Don't be afraid of appearence from outside, inside is great
Great value For money
Welcome was genuine and friendly. Effort to ensure satisfaction was first Class. Always helpful and courteous. Great ambassadors for tourism in Saigon. Thank you Brian Swift
CHEATED didnt have my booking, gave low class room
I had booked Hotel Hong Vina - Junior Suite room. Upon arrival they couldn't find my booking. After waiting I was told no room available and asked me to stay in another group hotel. Am not sure what class room is provided to me, but definitely not what I booked. The bed was unclean, so were towels. There is no power and hence no Air conditioning. Plus mosquito in room.
Transit Hotel
We were moved to their sister hotel, a block away. The room at original hotel was not impressive. We didn't want to stay there. Ok for a night. BRAKFAST was ok. Service ok.
安くてめちゃくちゃ便利
部屋は広くて、十分な設備。スタッフも親切。 周辺は、静かでも通りに面していて、レストランやコンビニも近くにあります。 ブイビエンも歩いてすぐ近い
Freundlich/Sehr Hilfsbereit
重點就是價格實惠
離熱鬧的檳城市場很近,旅館設備齊全,重點是價格實惠。但這家旅館不幫旅客代租機車。
午前中のフロントの方の接客が不快。
Very nice hotel right in the middle of HCMC
Staff was very kind and helpful; room was very clean; breakfast was served on 6th floor (roof top) with a nice view! (breakfast was also served before opening hours due to our early trip back to the airport); very good recommendation for a restaurant (Mekong) nearby
Friendly staff, disappointing accommodations
When we first arrived we were allocated in the 7th floor, which is not served by lift (since it only goes up to the 6th floor). Our room smelled terribly of sewage and the walls were covered by black mold, barely concealed by the wallpaper. After having complained about the smell in the room, we were moved to another room. The breakfast was really disappointing, with few options on the menu, and only coffee and two types of fruit on the buffet, everything else (even bread, butter or salt) had to be ordered. Since they were understaffed, it would take a while for us to get even a plain bread or butter.
