The hotel has an excellent location, ir was quiet and had clean environment. The property appears new and modern, enhancing its sophisticated ambiance. Although the room was not large, the space is well-distributed and comfortable . During our four-day stay, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast included in our reservation . is not a self-serve buffet but offers a menu with great choices, making it worthwhile. Both the hotel and the restaurant were exceptionally clean and sophisticated, we had a pleasant experience and we definitely enjoyed. Front desk and employees were friendly and helpful.

I got the room with a balcony the look of the room was amazing I loved the darks features of it additionally I loved the details of lights that are in the room for example, there are lights above the curtains and around the bed frame and you can switch the lights on and off to create a nice atmosphere. The balcony was huge as it was on the first floor it was more like a terrance and was big.Theres also a good amount of snack bar options in case you come to the hotel late at night. Staff was friendly, the area is a bit more away from the centre so if you like a quieter are this is a good option it is only 10-20 minutes away depending on your transport option. Overalls I recommend this hotel it’s idea for a couple getaway and if you smoke it is nice to have a terrance.

Great staff very friendly

Concerns from a platinum Expedia member. While we had a lovely time overall, there were a few aspects of our experience that fell short of our expectations. Upon check-in, my wife and I noticed that our room had not been upgraded, and we did not receive any additional food or drink options during our four-night stay. We were also surprised to find that we received only two drink coupons for the entire duration. Additionally, we had booked what we believed to be a king bed, but instead found two double beds pushed together. Each bed was fitted with two separate double sheets and comforters, which did not provide the comfort we anticipated. Unfortunately, the beds tended to separate during the night, making it difficult for us to cuddle. On a positive note, we thoroughly enjoyed the hotel restaurant. The food was exceptional, and the service was outstanding, which truly enhanced our experience.

Other than the restaurant below which can be busy at times, great place to stay.

Great hotel for the Barcelona Open (tennis)

The hotel was great—so convenient for the Barcelona Open! And there is a lovely coffee shop right down the street. The rooms were clean and overall comfortable. The restaurant at the hotel was quite good as well—a large selection and everything was tasty!

Nice, comfy, fabulous location for the tennis fans, with friendly and helpful staff. Too bad the interior decor is so grim—all dark gray, no color. And the bathroom is designed for a tall person who takes showers, not a short person who takes baths, or any person with back or joint problems who would have difficulty climbing into the bathtub. I would definitely recommend it to any limber person attending the tennis tournament!

All was excellent. One point for improvement: the room temperature was very high (27 degrees) when we arrived and it took awhile to reduce it to comfortable temperatures.

The rooms are a bit Spartan, but everything functions well. that's the only reason I would not give it 5 stars. What is really fantastic about this hotel/restaurant is the restaurant. The food quality is exceptional and the indoor/outdoor restaurant is open all day and nigh, and you will be served whatever you want at any time you want. This is important when you are jet lagging. breakfast at 5:00 pm, no problem. Sit down and have a coke at dinner hour, no problem. but the food is exceptional. Everything on the menu was excellent. I enjoyed several dinners, and others who I knew staying there, from the conference we were attending, had exactly the same experience. Stay at Upper Diagonal for the food, service, and cleanliness.

Paid in full December 2019 for trip in July. Non-refundable rate. Due to COVID 19 my flights were cancelled so I couldn’t travel. Hotel wouldn’t refund my money neither did they offer vouchers or alternative dates. Very disappointed indeed

Diagonal did not look ok like a hotel.from the outside to me. The interior reminded me very much of Scandinavian styling but with a bit darker gray wood rather than natural wood color. I used the workout room and the hotel was pretty quite. The restaurant was very good. Many non guests use this restaurant which is .good indicator of how good it is.

I couldn't have been more pleased with my experience at the Hotel Upper Diagonal. The staff was extremely friendly, and all of them were able to converse with me sufficiently in English to help with everything I needed. They were even able to move me to a room with two beds, from my reserved room with one bed, when my brother decided to make a last-minute trip to Barcelona to join me for a long weekend - not something I expected to be doable in a hotel with less than 40 rooms! The room itself was extremely clean and well appointed, with my only real quibble being the lack of washcloths in the bathroom (they have regular towels and hand towels, but no washcloths, and since the shower soap is liquid, a washcloth would have been useful). The cleaning staff always did an excellent job, and the restaurant attached to the hotel didn't disappoint on any of the occasions I ate there. I do wish there was the ability for me to plug an HDMI cable into the TV to watch my own video from a computer or Apple TV - the TV is mounted flush against the wall and, while it looks like it _should_ be possible to plug a cable in, I was unable to do the required finger acrobatics. The TV did support plugging in a USB stick and streaming from that, which was OK, but required quite a bit more hoop jumping on my part than simply plugging in a machine. I also wish the room had a refrigerator. There's so much good stuff in the local supermarkets that it would be very nice to have.

Quiet neighborhood and clean rooms. Excellent staff. Only thing bad was walls aren’t soundproof from neighbors and toilet tended to shoot water out of the bowl so had to flush with lid down. Close to Maria Cristina metro.

Very clean, modern, new and functional hotel in Pedralbas area. One of the most prestigious areas of Barcelona, slightly far from the centre and activity. Could be practical for travelers attending Barcelona games in Camp Nou, as it's in walking distance.

Overall very impressed with facilities at the small modern hotel. Great rainfall shower and coffee/tea making facilities. Unfortunately my stay was a little spoilt by other noisy guests disturbing my sleep ( I stayed on a Saturday night).

Minimalist taken too far

Clean and trendy hotel in central location. However as well as the design, the service and attention to detail if food was also all minimal. With the exception of reception who were good. But restaurant experience not good staff on phone and talking to each other rather than serving, fruit salad in evening €5 was obviously left overs. Pasta portion tiny. Always annoying when you feel that a hotel is trying to squeeze every € out of you. A € for a tea bag!

Great hotel and wonderful restaurant too!!

We had a 2,night stay and found this boutique type hotel perfect. If we had young children we may have stayed in central Barcelona as there is a 10 min walk to metro . Only other point to note is they only leave Tea and coffee on first night and then charge 1 euro thereafter. The restaurant was fabulous and very very reasonable compared to other places we ate in Barcelona . Staff all spoke good English and our stay was very welcoming. Will definitely be going back

Stylish and Modern Small Hotel: Highly recommended

Small but modern stylish hotel. It was very comfortable during the hot summer weather with air conditioning throughout. It had a reasonably sized bar and breakfast area. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was very modern and comfortable. The styling was to my taste. Bathroom was a reasonable size. It was difficult to fault overall. Breakfast was fairly expensive at €12 as the food was okay but small portion size. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this modern, well presented but comfortable small hotel. I would highly recommend would definitely return.

Suite à se séjour j’ai plusieurs bouton qui ont apparue suite à la literie et au serviette peut propre. Beaucoup de poussière dans la chambre je suis très déçu. Je met plus jamais un pied là bas.

Comme l'isolation intérieure est de mauvaise qualité, on entend tout d'une chambre à l'autre. J'ai été réveillée le samedi et le dimanche matin à 9h par les femmes de ménage qui faisaient le ménage dans la chambre voisine (aspirateur très bruyant, coups d'aspirateur dans les plintes, femmes de ménage qui discutent entre eux à voix forte. C'est décevant pour un hotel de cette qualité.

Todo bien (habitacion, terraza, ubicacion, desayuno) salvo pequeños detalles ej no hay maquina de correr en el gimnasio, se habia roto una tuberia y no habia agua caliente durante unas horas, internet no llegaba al baño o a la terraza, varios empleados quejandose entre ellos….

Struttura su due piani con poche stanze a poche centinaia di metri dall’Università e dal centro congressi, con centro fitness ma privo di piscina. Benché avessi già fatto il check-in online come consigliato dallo stesso hotel ed avvisato dell’orario di arrivo abbiamo dovuto aspettare sul piccolo divano davanti al bancone della reception (la hall non esiste) circa un’ora poiché la stanza non era pronta. Le stanze sono grandi e tutto e’ nuovo e ben tenuto. Ha un ristorante che riscuote molto successo di spagnoli anche con bar seppure con pochi posti e la colazione e’ buona ed abbondante. Ho ricevuto il Vip access da Expedia di cui non si capisce il senso: un drink all’arrivo e basta? Io avevo capito un drink al giorno trattandosi di soli tre giorni e devo dire che in hotel mi hanno offerto ogni giorno il drink seppur poi chiarendomi con gentilezza l’equivoco. L’upgrade della stanza e’ stato poco evidente poiché le stanze erano tutte molto simili. Unico neo grande di questo hotel mettere la macchinetta del caffè e la brocca x scaldare l’acqua in camera e poi mettere le cialde e le bustine per il te a pagamento. Non ha molto senso. Comunque tutto il personale molto gentile e disponibile. Bus e metro a pica distanza per andare in centro.

La habitación triple es amplia y cómoda. Tiene 2 estancias separadas por una puerta corredera, que permite comunicarlas o separarlas según se necesite. El lounge bar está bien para cenas informales y cierra tarde. Mejorable: la iluminación de la habitación

Camera spaziosa e silenziosa, dotata di tutto l'occorrente, con sistema di riscaldamento funzionante alla perfezione. Angolo per caffè e tisane, frigo bar ben fornito, ma non l'ho utilizzato. Nota dolente la pulizia: polvere sui piani e all'interno del cassetto del comodino ho trovato sporcizia e un vasetto di vetro vuoto utilizzato da precedenti clienti e non ripulito dal personale addetto alle pulizie. Personale alla reception attento e disponibile.
