UBC Kelowna was a beautiful campus however there were very few options for dining, and the fitness center was lacking in equipment. Otherwise my stay was a pleasant experience.
Excellent
Availability of EV charging facilities was great.
Excellent thank you! Bit confusing finding the place to enter to stay
This was at UBC Kelowna campus. It was a room with a bathroom. Good room - would stay again....just what we needed.
Room was clean with small kitchen. Check in process was easy.
The bathing area is too small, and the sound insulation is not good; you can hear the footsteps upstairs and people opened/closedtheir door
Excellent value for the Money
A great stay that is affordable and no frills as advertised. A pass to the fitness centre would be a great value add instead of having to pay a day fee. There is nothing open for food options on weekends so needed to go out first thing each morning for a coffee. Planned to use the cooking lounge but unfortunately our’s was taken over by a large group so there was no way we could utilize it either night. No fault of facility just how it rolls sometimes. Appreciate the free parking! Thanks UBCO.
Great place to stay
quiet, clean and beautiful....
All looks good and it'll be perfect if the water pressure can be higher....
Excellent Kelowna hotel
Had several bookings over the summer in Kelowna while exploring the Okanagan and always had a pleasant experience at UBCO. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Basic but good hotel that is well run. All the staff are eager to help guests feel welcomed from housekeeping to front desk. Rooms are basic but clean and some have great mountain views. It’s quiet and safe. Probably the best value you can find during summer in Kelowna.
Excellent views from room. Basic but clean rooms
Excellent hotel in Kelowna during the summer. Well equipped but basic rooms with mountain views for some of their studio rooms. Friendly service. Great value. And regular bus service straight to downtown Kelowna and across. You don’t need a car. While few dining options on campus, delivery is plentiful. 24 hr front desk and friendly staff.
Safe and convenient location. Friendly staff.
Had a pleasant stay at UBCO over the summer in several bookings. The campus is safe and convenient to explore Kelowna and Lake county. It’s convenient even without a car. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Rooms are clean and probably one of few options in Kelowna that has studio rooms. Basic but good. Great value as well.
Great value. Clean rooms. Friendly staff.
Excellent hotel in Kelowna during the summer. Rooms are basic but well appointed. Great value. Clean rooms and good coffee. Friendly staff. Easy access to Kelowna and lake county.
Enjoyed our stay
The stay was great, my mom was amazed. The only thing that could be improved is the show, very limited space, making it more challenging to complete a shower. We'll come back next year anyway.
Shower is too small.
I was picking up some people at the airport who were on a late flight so i decided to spend one night in Kelowna. For three people the student residency rooms were cheaper than nearby hotels. As a very basic place to sleep for one night, it was ok.
It's quiet from the city's hussle. You need a car to go around. Campus is good and quiet. Rooms were clean. It's just that if they could provide basic toiletries like toothpaste and body wash it would be awesome.
Clean space. A tasty breakfast on campus at the café.
Experience on campus is unique. Living room and kitchen is spacious in 4 bedroom suite. Bed comforter a bit odour though.
The showerhead at the bathroom was very powerful. You couldn’t change it to any different level. The faucet in the washroom is coming really really slow. You couldn’t even wash your hand properly and there’s not much stuff in it to use very basic and I did not like it whatsoever.
Very peaceful however there was nothing to do in the area and no TV or other source of entertainment for evening enjoyment.
We had a great stay. Students taking care of registrations were extremely curious and accommodating. Would stay again.
Very nice accommodation except that you had to use 2 separate elevators going to the room. Otherwise, it’s nice
The place was neat and tidy. Very well recommended.
As previously commented, food services wasn't readily accessible.
We have enjoyed staying here a few times...but this time, there were no food outlets open & I couldn't even locate the vending machines...fortunately, we had stashed some snacks for our trip.
Overall, the hotel was great, but the water pressure was very low.
quite & clean
I like how clean , quiet and safe the place but my only concern is aircon is not that cold on our room. But over-all is highly recommended.
Considering price and size, this was very comfortable and nice accomodation. Highly recommended. Shared kitchen is well managed and no refriger in room but available in shared kitchen for my 2 bedroom unit. It is a residence in UBC.
The property itself was beautiful and the signage to get to check in was wonderfully marked. We had one small pot to cook with in our 4bedroom suite. No dry rack for cleanup and one dish cloth for 5 days for 4 of us made cooking anything very slow. We hit up the dollar store for items and it felt like we were camping. I would highly suggest putting padding on the dining room chairs- it was SO loud to pull them out and too heavy to lift. We could also hear the other family above us having the same issue. Dining room table had padding on the legs so not hard to do the chairs. We stayed for 5 nights and it was comfortable, we had to sleep with all 4 bedroom doors open so we could get some of the AC from the living room into our bedrooms. Also the elevator broke the morning we were leaving and getting all of our stuff down the stairs with a wagon was interesting. If we were to book again it would only be on a top floor so we don’t hear those who can’t sleep walking around above us all night. It was hard to sleep and very little sound barrier between the units. Even with earplugs I could hear them banging around. Finding parking for our building was absolutely impossible! After a long day and tired kids we had to park at a different building not even near where we were staying. There should be designated parking in the building we are staying at- others had the same issue and had to drive around until they found something.
Nice and quite! A typical university experience.
Excellent value in Kelowna. Friendly service.
UBCO conference and accommodation runs a very good hotel in Kelowna (presumably during the summer as they convert dorm rooms to a hotel). It’s not a half-baked effort but everything from the check in, to the front desk, coffee, rooms, housekeeping, and amenities are all well ironed out. It’s a no-frills hotel but with very professional and friendly service and a 24 hour front desk who would be happy to help. The price is often paired to some of the cheapest rates you can find in Kelowna during the summer but the experience, cleanliness, and service exceeds expectations of hotels in Kelowna at similar price points. If you don’t drive, the campus has a bus interchange that allows easy access to lake country, downtown Kelowna, Dilworth, and grocery stores or shopping just minutes away. There’s nothing bad to be said about my experience at UBCO hotels. The studio rooms in monashee residence is located atop the campus but also, there is a nice hiking trial up the mountain that can provide great views of Kelowna and the picturesque mountain views. There’s a vending machine with snacks and another with drinks within the building for convenience although you can also order delivery with UberEats at pretty much any time. (Quite a few fast food restaurants open late nearby the airport park and of course dominos is always near any campus… and this branch has friendly and impressively quick delivery drivers too; if you order dominos on UberEats, they deliver with dominos drivers)
Studio room with amazing view. Friendly service.
As they said on the welcome email, it’s not a five-star hotel but it has clean rooms and friendly staff. That much and more is true. You’ll find very functional rooms (yes they are student dorms but well fitted with comfy bed, pillows, and a shower with good water pressure) Along with a safe and comfortable campus to explore in Kelowna. If you book the studio rooms, it is located up the mountain which may make it difficult to get to but they offer a buggy service at check in making it effortless to bring your luggage’s up. It also means incredible views whether right from your room if you get an even number room facing the mountains or on your way down the residence building. The campus is safe and vibrant even during summer and while many dining options close at 4 pm, you can get pretty much any grocery or food delivered right to you with UberEats, along with dominos. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and seek to provide guests with a pleasant experience. They’re eager to help and professional. It’s a reliable accommodation option in Kelowna for all types of travellers who want a clean and comfortable room with friendly service. The studio rooms are stocked with everything you need as well including cups and plates, and the coffee is good. There is a refillable water fountains at the check in building that you can use to refill with filtered water which is convenient and more eco-friendly than constantly buying 4L jugs. Highly recommend UBCO hotel in Kelowna.
I brought my two granddaughters for a mini vacation to Kelowna. I loved having separate bedrooms and the connecting bathroom. No TV but who needs it.
Pleasant surprise
Staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. The suite was clean and comfortable with all the amenities we were looking for including A/C. Easy, scenic drive into downtown Kelowna via Glenmore Rd. The bathroom exhaust vent wasn't working. There was moisture damage on the ceiling in the shower stall which may have been a result of improper moisture ventilation.
Very spacious, but bit under equipped
Great sized rooms for a family - a big apartment, with separate bedrooms and large kitchen area. But strangely under equipped - 4 dining chairs for an apartment of 5, 4 glasses, etc, and little cooking equipment in a huge kitchen But campus lovely and great location - modern, nice views, helpful service
Was a very nice surprise. We enjoyed our stay.
A very nice 4 bedroom suite for less than a motel would charge for a room with 2 queen beds!
Totally fine stay for the price and purpose we were in the area. Nice surroundings but nothing open on campus over the weekend.
Clean and quiet. Nothing to do around the campus.
Best university conference accommodation centre I've been to yet. Full kitchen and coffee maker available.
Super clean, nice staff, easy check in, comfy beds.
It is nice place for vacation
Facility is designed for young students, not really for regular folks. They should provide clear access and direction info in reservation. The campus is big and with circuitous roads. If you come in at night, you can easily get lost.
Excellent alternative to high priced hotel.
The place was so good
Affordable stay for a big group like ours. There are different room options to choose from. Clean and comfortable too
Convenience on bus route. Great summer rates. Quiet and respectful
Stayed here for one night. Close $15 can ride from airport. Beautiful campus. No cafe or convenient walking distance breakfast option on summer weekends so be aware. Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms. Good value.
This was a convenient stay for what we needed it for. We were very disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. There was no hand soap in the bathroom. There were blood stains on the ceiling in the main bedroom. The mirrors were all streaky with something And the walls weren’t very clean. Saying that it was good to have a decent amount of space. The staff were friendly, but we didn’t see them beyond check-in.
Great place to stay. Very clean. Safe place in town.
Clean affordable convenient place. Very friendly staff.
Great area to stay.
Affordable option to a regular hotel. However, be warned: getting around is pretty inconvenient. Guests are only allowed to park in certain lots, and because there are students still parking around, you're not guaranteed to get one close to your room. The bed and pillow were not very comfortable and the AC unit was right above our heads while we slept, so whenever it went off it was just blowing straight at our faces. It is on a campus that is pretty far away from the rest of the city, so not really a walkable area or close to amenities. You definitely need a car if youre staying here. If you just need a place to sleep, have a car, and youre not picky at all, this works fine, but if you like to be a bit more comfortable, a hotel might be better.
Good
Was quite far from amenities if you didn’t have a vehicle. But overall good bang for buck!
The studio was nice, quiet, air-conditioned, and clean; it had all that was needed for a short stay. Super nice and welcoming staff.
.
Excellent customer service, easy to register and exit, clean But just remember that this is no five star hotel, so in many ways it is a bare bones establishment. But overall, we quite enjoyed it.
quiet and lots of space to walk around
quiet, affortable.
Summer campus stay
The a/c was great given the hot temperatures. The sink was plugged with 'hair' and my partner had to clean it out. The light bulb above the sink in the bathroom was burned out. The room itself was fine otherwise and we will return. The new feature of booking with Hotels.com is great and I recommend putting that information on the website for summer campus guidance. The staff were very cordial and a pleasure to deal with.
EV charging available
Sink had low flow water, reported to concierge, maintenance left a note stating "all fixtures in the building were 'low flow'. TV in 4th floor lounge not working despite trying to turn on switch in wall panel as per concierge. Maintenance was not able to fix tv (black screen) during entire 4 day stay. Temperature/thermostat is broken in one room, but working in another room. Water from bottle refill station tastes slightly metallic. Need to share lounge area with young children. Need to ask front desk for towels and hair dryer. Housekeeping does not routinely clean rooms. Told to throw towels on floor outside room for housekeeping. Shower does not have detachable hose. Mattresses are quite hard to sleep on. Unclear whether payment was taken at the beginning - was asked to insert credit card upon check in. Stomping from upstairs heard until 1am in morning. No hand soap, given bar soap (body soap). Holes/scratches left on wall from previous customer.
very good experience
The room was clean and the staff very helpful.
Sockets should be nearby the bed to side where you sleep and Air conditioning system should be little bit better than this
Peace and quiet
Very good. Campus is very peaceful and quiet and relaxing. Away from all the Kelowna traffic.
It's a campus so I felt comfortable.
Good price and clean!
Quiet & clean
Perfect stay for an early flight the next day. Just what we needed and great value for money! We’ll definitely stay again
Walls weren’t too sound proof. Could hear everyone walking above us and those walking in the corridor. Air conditioning was not working well. The campus is beautiful and safe.
It was just a basic room with nothing else. No tv or anything in the room but there was a lounge with a tv and a full kitchen if you don’t mind sharing with others
Nice environment and comfortable accommodation!
We had a wonderful stay at UBC. Clean room and very affordable price compared to hotels.
Love the campus environment.
Really good place to stay... Just the shower is little small for a 6 feet guy.
Simple and clean
Worst shower, don’t have adjustments and the water from shower is too fast with high pressure, can’t take shower. and the water from the tap at hand washing area is too slow , irritating and waste of time . I strongly demand refund. Completely disappointed and dissatisfied.
Very convenient. A little far from the major sites but it’s worth the price
good
I like the price of this property
We booked a family room. The key fob did not work so I had to go all the way around the building to find the working fob box. When we finally got in, one of the rooms was locked and fob still didn’t work so we had to go out and reset the fob after talking with the person from the front. The dining chairs were covered with crumbs, and the floor was dirty. One of the coffee packages was open so I wasn’t sure if guests are expected to be sharing whatever is left from the past stay..? Most of all, noise blocking in the building is horrible. Upstair guests partied until 4am and we were able to hear what they were talking, walking, and toilet flushing. We did not expect it to be like a starred hotel but if you want to have relaxing time during the evening, this may not be a good place for you.
Absolutely quiet and friendly students staff
Good room condition and kind staff
The staff was very professional and you can feel the vibes of a really nice and save place. I liked it a lot
Picked this location because it is very near the airport, and much cheaper than hotels. We needed 2 beds, so we had 2 simple rooms and shared the bathroom between. The beds were queen size. 2 sets of towels with soap, shampoo and conditioner. No TV or fridge in the room. But on our floor, there is a lounge with big TV, couch, tables and chairs in kitchen, fridge, stove, microwave. No dishes. Check in and check out was fast and professional. Would definitely stay here again. Only flaw is there doesn't seem to be parking where we check-in and to get to parking is not simple, but got explanation and map.
Good room for the price.
Very clean and quiet
Nice quiet area
Not in the city centre, but not an issue if driving. We booked a suite which is very spacious. It’s like a bedroom apartment with full kitchen set up. Suggest to provide basic ingredients (e.g. salt, pepper etc.) in the kitchen.
Its a good place for families. As it is located in a mountain and security of ubc around the campus quite place to stay with family . Only Hazzardes compare to hotels no pools and playing area for kids . But the thing is that safe and secure place when you travel . And rooms are clean and good like a home . ....loved it . And budget friendly for family backpackers.

Very helpful and polite staff. Very good accommodation in the grounds of an amazing university.
