Great service even though we arrived late for check-in. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The facility is a wonderful accomodation for the price. We appreciated the ability to have a suite with 3 separate rooms.
We rented the three-bedroom apartment. It was large and airy. The shower was great. We especially appreciated having some coffee, and a few basics like glasses, plates bowls, cutlery, a dishcloth and a dishtowel. Some other student dorms we’ve stayed in had none of these and it was very inconvenient. The written instructions for the wifi weren’t clear. We went back to reception and they explained we had to create our own account and password. Once we did this, it worked fine.
Basic accommodations, location is good, great value for the price.
It was a great space and economical with the beds being exactly what you would expect from a university.
Quick and easy check in and ok breakfast not great but ok.
The two single bed room was in a circa 1958 dorm. The historic aspect was awesome, but the lack of soundproofing was less so. On the plus side the continental breakfast was excellent and the campus is absolutely breathtaking. Also, the staff is exceptional.
My only complaint is that my door key was very hard to use. I know I was told it was because of the weather, but it was very hard to open my room door.
Great location, beautiful campus close to lovely walking trails. Our 3 bedroom suite was great complete with a fridge, stove, microwave and dishwasher. Beds were clean, but the overall suite could use a real good cleaning. Although we had to wait 2 hours past our check in time, the staff were great!!! I would stay there again
Lots of room for a great value. 3 bedroom Suite with full kitchen for a fraction of a hotel price. Great for a family. Obviously different level of bedding/linens from a hotel - but pleasantly surprised by toiletries provided. Such a lovely location in the hills of Fredricton!
Loved the campus. It was great walking around and exploring the entire area. The campus is situated on some big hills which overlook the city and surrounding area. Awesome views. The building where we ate was big and beautiful.
Great character breakfast was good shared bathroom was very clean
Inexpensive, clean. Cable box and wifi, but no TV or display. No A/C even in most recent residence building. Nice campus, but on-campus coffee shops and convenience closed over the week-end.
Although inexpensive, I would not choose to stay in the UNB Fredericton Summer Hotel again in the future. It has the charm of a very old dormitory, but lacks air circulation, comfortable beds, and private showers. This was the most uncomfortable dorm I have stayed at, by far. It was hot, a little dirty, the doors slammed loudly all night, and the mattress was very, very old and uncomfortable.
Affordable, clean, great service, but super hot
Beautiful location... lots of activity happening! Comfortable and good value
Nice place, I had booked Friday and Saturday evening but not at the same time. So the person I first checked in with wasn't going to help there. I had put a note on my confirmation, but it went unobserved. She wanted us to check out and recheck in later on Saturday again. But I went and spoke with another clerk and he fixed it so that was a lot better. There's also hook up for a TV but none in the rooms. That should be noted so your aware of that. Not a big issue but one just the same. I would recommend this place and stay again.
The students are most helpful to help me in every way they can, thank you. I had a good stay there!
A bit pricey for the quality...
A bit run down and the noise of the air systems both in and out of the building was not pleasant....it is just adequate compared to other similar facilities I have stayed in....the staff were friendly and helpful...and while inexpensive, it was in my opinion, priced high for the quality and compared to other similar facilities....in the end we regretted not booking a proper hotel....
Older, inexpensive, decent breakfast, good enough for kids
The room was OK. Beware of hot nights because no AC
Why can’t the owners make weather based comfort a priority once and for all. I used it last summer and again this time but the heat and humidity in the rooms is most uncomfortable and only one fan for 3 rooms. Could not sleep
Good value for money, however the check in was supposed to be at 3pm. We couldn't enter our room until 4:45pm because housekeeping wasn't finished.
Clean university lodging. No air conditioning. Good when you need to stop for a one night stay.
It's right in the campus of UNB, nice and quiet with perfect view
I love the kitchen and the location the view is to kill for but there no AC and is really warm but is cheap so can really complaint
There were no female disposal garbages in washroom
Everything as a hotel plus a complete kitchen (microwave, dishwasher, stove, fridge, coffee maker)
On campus, the room is spacious and clean. Would love a nicer pillows rather than those used in hospital but other than that, it is great.
The buildings are beautiful and the staff are friendly and helpful!
Great location ans price. The shared bathroom eooms are very dated and i would suggest staying at the non shared bathroom (might be better) due to the age and condition on the bathrooms. Good deal for the price
The shower curtain is disgusting. This is the second time I stayed here. They don't wash the shower curtain. They are slimmy
Filthy furniture and terrible stink in hallways and some rooms
Great deal for what you pay
For what you pay you're not going to get a better deal the rooms are college dorms and they're not brand new but it was clean. And the breakfast was good. If you're going to stay more than one night you might want to bring a table lamp. I would stay again.
The shower head was plugged and water spread every where. The shower certain was disgusting. Slummy.
Size of the room is good. The maintenance, e.g. doors, needs maintained.
The front desk staff had a good attitude about them,
Like it all except would have liked a a toaster in the room more blanketes, needed a better cleaner other than that i loved it
This is an old student residence with washroom on halway
Though the campus was a little confusing to navigate, I loved how it was configured. The buildings exteriors are beautiful. I felt safe the entire time and the security guards that patrol are very thorough.
It was an old university dorm room with cot type bed. Markings under the book shelf dated to students who stayed there in 1977...to which I'm certain the room hasn't been updated since this time!
easy check-in, the unit is clean, has a full kitchen.
A very good experience to be able to stay on campus. Not luxury but reasonable. Beautiful campus which worth to tour in morning after breakfast as well
Great location, very spacious! will recommend to family
Obviously you know what your getting for the price...but I was put in an older building with much older shared washrooms when it really could have been winged off for privacy for both the men and women. Bathroom was in very rough shape from a repair standpoint. Otherwise good value those for what you pay.
Washroom was shared
3 bedroom apartment / suite in residence with full kitchen and bathroom.
Excellent spot if you don't want to pay a lot of money and just crash for the night
Room was clean and simple. It is a university dorm so I wasn’t expecting luxury. The room was hot and there is no air conditioning. The breakfast was simple but fine. I was only there for one night and it was fine!
Cheap stay but basic and no AC
Room was very hot given hot weather and no air conditioning. To keep in mind.
“I’m pretty sure the students living here for winter will have no worry of blizzard and cold weather”, because this place is insanely hot in the summer! It’s 15degree outside, but the top-floor room I got baked in the sun for the day and stays at 35 degree. It’s raining outside, adding humidity to nearly 100%. No A/C is expected, but no ventilizaion? That is living hell. I end up sleep in my car in the parking at last. Right... why I need to pay for this bed anyway? And on the bright side, location is good, campus is quiet and safe and price is very affordable if livable.
Great - quiet, clean, cheap. The disappointment was that the continental breakfast was totally served on everything plastic and paper. No compost or sorting. Surprising for a university setting. No regard for the environment.
Room condition.
Air-conditioning did not work. Had to keep the windows open. It was a hot and humid night so kept sweating all night.
Great value - location, continental breakfast, towels/soap.. can’t complain. Only complaints were that the bed was too soft for my liking, and it was very hot at night with no air con or fan.
Basic Accommodation but friendly staff on site
As my title says Basic Accommodations. The staff were amazing, the view priceless, but while on the campus things close early or not open at all. the TV and stuff did not work, Super hot (NO AC) It is great for a night or a few nights if you have a car and get off campus but for Relaxation and rest its hit and miss.
A bit hot
Just missing a fan in the room. Leave your door open to have air circulation! It's safe :)
It’s one of best! I will come back next time! 为什么要写这么多。。。
spacious
room is good, but the students living in the same building make much noise at midnight
The building we stayed in was close to the check in office but note that if you a lot of luggage its uphill and its stairs. Be prepaired for that. The beds in our dorm room were very firm and of course the furnishings are very basic. The bathroom like all dorms are shared and were quite dated. That said the room and common area was very clean and the staff were extremely pleasamt. If you have time to wall the campus do so it is really beautiful. We disnt take the complimentry breakfast as we were on a avhedule.
5/5
Best university dorm I’ve stayed at
Fine for a quick stop. Price very reasonable. Somewhat rundown. Bathrooms old and shower grout needed attention
A good economical hotel for multi persons (in a suite) for those visiting UNB. Clean. Good service from the front desk. A good accommodation.
Great introduction to a beautiful UNB campus
This was a very convenient location for staying in Fredericton for a conference I was presenting at. The people at the Residence Administration building who checked me in and out were very informative and helpful. The wifi worked very well. The bathrooms were well maintained. The campus was easy to get around and it was a beautiful sight to take in while staying at the University of New Brunswick Summer Hotel. The only drawback was that food outlets on campus seemed to be closed by or before 5 pm - which happens at all universities during spring and summer - which made it a bit of a hike to find a food outlet off campus. This was a very cost-effective stay, and well worth it. Great experience overall.
I was in town for the marathon and it was a clean, cost effective stay. Ten to fifteen minutes walk to downtown and about the same to the shopping areas. On a main bus route as well. Fridge and microwave in room so you can save money not eating out. Clean, safe, basic stay. Will stay again.
decent if you don't have unreasonable expectations
This is cheap, impressively clean and completely adequate for a night or two for the price. No frills.
You get what you pay for.
Wasn't expecting much, and that opinion was found to be true. You get what you pay for.
Dorm Room Stay
Just a basic room to crash for a night while you're heading down the road.
Beautiful campus but not much around
Arrived by Maritime Bus, and there was no way to get to the campus other than by foot or taxi. Since I had a lot of luggage, I took the taxi. It was $7-8 so not bad... but still. Check-in was a breeze. The dining area and schedule was confusing. Their time schedule sometimes didn't make sense. They also didn't advertise that they offered buffet at dinner time - however, it's only open for 1 hour (sometimes for 30 minutes!) and most of the other small cafes on site close at 3pm, so good luck finding food venues after 6pm when dinner ends. The dinner was around $17 buffet style. The food was kind of terrible. Porkshop was so dry and rubber, never seen anything worse. The dinner is mostly catered to the students staying there, so they got the majority of the food. By the time I got to the dessert, there was basically nothing left. I would not recommend. Room was clean, but really outdated. The fountain in the hallway was noisy.
So bad we moved.
We were very displeased with the accommodations. The showers are unsanitary...water runs from first shower on the floor through all 3 units and drains out on the third unit, meaning that anything anyone does or has in the first shower is passed down to users in second and third unit. UCK!!! Very difficult to sleep on uncomfortable single beds with no air conditioning. The room really heated up in the evening and continued to be hot throughout the night Very noisy, even from people just talking in the hallway. It echoes and sounds like they are hollering, not pleasant late at night or in the morning. The advertised pool can only be used by those 19 and over and closes at 6 pm. The advertised gym closes at 4 pm. The breakfast doesn't start until 8. When I went for it one day it wasn't ready at that time. I was sent downstairs where the eggs were cold, you could have a bagel but there was nothing to put on it. Most milk machines were empty and there was NO ONE to show you where anything was located. After the worse breakfast I've ever had, they finally had the one I was supposed to have up and running on the top floor. Somebody must have slept in.... We left after one night, nothing we looked forward to was able to be used by us. The only good thing about this place is the staff are very professional and helpful. Couldn't ask for better staff.
Cannot be called a hotel
No elivator , no air conditioner, and bathroom is shared one and outside the room. Nothing in the room like tv, coffee maker, iron........& beds out of shape
Good value for the price. I would stay there again.
Quaint place
Great option will be considering more economical places like this in the future
Should have read the fine print
The room was very hot, the window bearly opened, no fan to move the air. Basic dorm accommodation (not even a side lamp to read by), washroom and showers down the hall. The pool is only open for specific adult swim times (1 hour). The 'breakfast" is super basic continental and they don't let you take it to go. But.. the staff was nice, the grounds were great for walking. If you just want a place to crash this is great... just don't pick a hot night.
Prompt accommodation for late check-in
We arrived very late (1:30am) due to traffic. I called in the evening to arrange late check-in. The residence management was very helpful to accommodate the last minute request.
Cheap and Cheerful! Downhill walk to downtown!
Worth it. I stayed here for a conference which was held at the Convention Centre downtown. Could have stayed at the Crown Royal across the street but was $200/night. At the dorms my entire stay was $200 for 5 nights. The downhill walk in the morning was covenient and easy and the girl at the desk had printed off a Googlemap for me. Rooms are basic, neat, clean, no frills, but honestly how much time are you spending in a hotel room?

There is no A/C but fans in each room. We had trouble accessing the WIFI. Central location. Close to everything.
